I've been walking alot lately. Alot of Amonia. Lost my job and the car, because of liver condition and digestive because of AK 47 bullet through the gut, it disembowed me to say the least. They had to hot knife my stage 4 cirrhosis liver back together, this was 10 yrs ago. I'm still alive and living it a day at a time clean and Sober,
Appreciate Your Honesty and putting it out there for others.

I just came across your channel about an hour ago when it popped up on my feed, then I looked for an update and found this video (thankfully). I was dx’d with PBC 5 yrs ago but because it was not caught early I had already developed cirrhosis. I have other autoimmune disorders that are sometimes troublesome, but learning that my bile ducts had decided to destroy themselves was hard for me. Before being dx’d I had plenty of symptoms common to cirrhosis, but I had no idea there was anything wrong with me health-wise. I just thought my tiredness and inability to stay mentally focused was a result of lack of sleep and taking on more than I could realistically handle. I have other issues as well from the cirrhosis, but those are the two that bother me the most on a daily basis. I have six-month followups with labs and MRI. The EGDs are less frequent, maybe due to insurance, but I’m doing what I can to keep the portal HT under control. I I take my prescriptions religiously except for one thing; can you guess what it is? Yep, lactulose! It was prescribed as 15 ml 3 times a day, but I’m doing good if I can just take it once a day just 3-4 days a week. I’m trying to do better. Your title for this video caught my eye, and I’m so glad you decided to talk about the subject of ammonia level. Lately my ability to stay focused and not feel loopyhas been really off, and it’s been rather sudden so it’s worrisome. Besides watching your video I read in the comment section from someone who had just lost their mother to liver disease and that lactulose was started but it was just too late for it to have any effect. You both made me sit up and pay attention. I got out of bed and poured myself a shot of lactulose. I’ve decided here and now that I’m going to drink that gross stuff everyday until it becomes habit. My hope and expectation is that I will see improvement in how I feel within a week or two.
I hope you are doing well and, seriously, I’m so glad I came across your video tonight! I’ll be checking back to see how you are doing.

Thank you for your thoughts and I’m so glad this video helped. I do get bouts ammonia going up at times. And nobody likes lactolose lol. It’s gross. But it does help and it’s important. I wish you good luck in your journey and hope things get better for you

My husband passed away 7 weeks after diagnosis. I just knew he had cirrhosis for sure probably 6 months prior due to his belly and liver swelling which was visible but he refused to go to a doctor. He wound up in the ER because of a very serious fall and was diagnosed (June 30, 2023) and spent a few days in medical detox and treatment to get his ammonia under control. He declined very raoidly even with xifaxan and lactulose and would up back in the ER a month later with a wernicke karsakoff diagnosis due to the damage and died 3 weeks later at home. We don’t know exactly what he died from as he had a seizure and passed away quickly in my arms. He had most of the symptoms you describe. I hope you continue to do well and have a good quality of daily life.

BTW my wife had liver failure at 14 due to Wilson disease, she had a transplant 23 years ago and due to Iife and certain choices prior to us being married she now managing portal hypertension, with 7 bile ducts being blocked and Cirrhosis of the liver, she is currently at a meld of like 14 which I know is low, but her chronic illness definitely takes a toll on her. Hope your doing well today, and pray for good days for you.

my daughters father had cirrhosis. his ammonia levels were super high. this caused him to be confused & incoherent. he went in the hospital January 2022 with pneumonia. ultimately the pneumonia killed him but his cirrhosis obviously didn't help any. it was just a matter of time his liver would have caused his death. he died 7 days after going in. My primary care dr. diagnosed me with fatty liver disease earlier this year but not sure what stage I am. I could'nt get an appt till January of 2025. rediculous it took almost a year to get an appt. my mother had alcoholic liver disease and her ammonia levels were high. she died April 2023 supposedly from covid pneumonia. i don't believe that. It was just plain pneumonia. she had 4 covid jabs but yet she got covid? b.s. These pos drs add covid to everything so they get paid by the corrupt government.

My uncle has been in the hospital since December 22, 2024. We already knew he had cirrhosis but he still drank unfortunately. Now it is end stage. He's had fluid drained out his abdomen twice. He is on a diuretic for that and swelling in his feet. He's on lactulose for HE also. It has been hell and they told us he has 3 months to live I'm guessing based on his MELD score. He is not liver transplant eligible cause they said he'd have to be sober 6 months first. My prayers are with anyone going through this.

How often did you have to have ascites drained? Did they speak to you about AST/ALT ratio?

    • @Redneckkenobi
      @Redneckkenobi  Місяць тому +1

My lung kept filling, not my stomach. I even had a chest tube in for 45 days at one point. It’s been over a year now. And ALT and AST change. Infact eventually when the liver is bad enough those numbers can start to look in the good area, but that’s because when they pull the reading it’s the proteins from the liver that they are counting, and as it gets worse there’s less to show up on the test. So as the liver becomes cirrhotic there’s less to read the worse it gets.

The food stuck in esophagus issue seems to affect a number of people. Dry meats, not chewing food enough, eating too fast and talking instead of swallowing each bite causes this awful sensation of food getting "airlocked", clogged, just before it enters stomach.... water only makes it worse as you feel like you're drowning. The only solution is hacking it up into the nearest toilet. Sometimes it takes a couple of times to get it out! Waiting and hoping for it to go down, might lead to throat damage.
My mother gets this sometimes too. The thing is it comes and goes where it may be weeks, then it happens. Symptoms are a gurgling sound from deep in throat, and drooling.
I wonder if alcohol has something to do with ithis 🤔🤔

With cirrhosis too, varices can form in the esophagus and that leaves less room for food to pass thru. That’s why you need EGD’s every few months to look for varices and the doctor will band them so they stop growing because you don’t want them to burst which would be a definite medical emergency..

Hi there! Firstly, I want to say carry on! You're doing great & never believe -as you already seem to know- when Dr.s try & give you an epiration date; it's not right! I'm not a Dr (I have a BS in Biochemistry & Nutrition). but I did want to give you a caveat about your protein comments! The byproduct of protein metabolism is ammonia! Yes, chicken & fish are more easily digested but 100g portiion of a skinless chicken breast, actually contains 43g of protein vs a a lean 100g portion of beef which contains roughly 26g of protein! Your fattier cuts, dramatically decrease protein amts; a 100g chicken leg contains roughly 16g of protein. I'm not saying to eliminate protein from your diet as your body needs the amino acids for so many functions -tissue repair being 1 important factor, but know that fats are more helpful to the liver. Good quality avocado oil, coconut, & olive oils are great for the liver & there was a study done on liver repair w butter (again I'd opt for quality -like Kelly's Irish butter) Dr. Eric Berg has some great videos on liver repair. Also, a supplement called L-glutamine helps convert ammonia into urea, which is then excreted by your kidneys. Paleo Valley has a supplement of organic, grass fed liver & organ meats, so if you were to cut way down on your meat consumption, that would be a great addition! I also take Liver Defend by Clean Nutraceuticals -an amazing formula w beet root, milk thistle, NAC, TUDCA, dandelion, artichoke, Chanca Piedra, & much more! I had a nasty liver fluke infection which raised my ammonia levels drastically & made me very unsteady & brain fogged with confused thinking. I hope this helps! I know it seems like a lot of supplements, but with the combo formulas, it's really not to bad. You've got the right attitude & just keep on chugging! Slow & steady wins this race & the liver is the most forgiving organ! Happy Holidays!

I’m just gonna say one thing. I came across your video from three months ago. You look exactly like my friend Phil Miller, who passed away from liver cirrhosis. Physically, you look just like him. And I don’t think you get it. I just have to be honest - you don’t get it. None of your videos talk about what dietary changes are you making every day all day to change your situation.
It’s all dietary. All of it. What changes are you making?
I went through a few of your videos and you don’t even talk about it.
I want you to live. My friend Phil did the same thing - he had his head in the sand. He was your age.
I don’t understand your channel. I want you to change, but you are headed the wrong direction. It’s all dietary - you can turn it around.
