  • In this video, I answer the question "Is Cuisinart a good brand air fryer?" I walk through the controls and features of both the TOA-60 and TOA-70 models. The TOA-70 model has a grill function whereas the TOA-60 does not.
    I also measure the inside dimensions, outside dimensions, and baking sheet size on camera.

    Thank you for the review, here in Mexico the TOA-60 is still available at some stores, but the model itself has been discontinued by CuisineArt, they are pushing the TOA-70, will very likely get the 70. 👍

    How do you know when the TOA-70 reaches temperature? If I have to cook something at 350° for 20 minutes. I set the temp dial to 350° and start the on/off timer at some time. The oven gives me no indication when it has reached the temperature, so when do I start timing 20 minutes to cook the food?

    I really like mine... but it does leak grease out of the bottom. I finally got a couple of aluminum foil trays to put under it on the counter. I also use aluminum foil on the drip trays under the basket.

    I think I have a TOA-60, i didn't get a grill, but I have some removal waffle iron plates, after I watch you the first time i took the waffle plate and it fits ok. In the airfrier, I haven't tired yet, but as I'm alone i think it wii be fine,

    Thank you for this review. I'm considering buying the 70 model. Did you have any issues with grease leaking from the unit onto the countertop? Or the unit temperature being too low to "air fry?" I read reviews on Amazon and they are so bad, but this is safer than majority of air fryers on the market.

    • @JaredDesrosiers
      @JaredDesrosiers  Рік тому +5

      I personally haven’t had any of these problems with the unit. The temperature is definitely not too low to air fry, and I’ve never had any leaks.

    Thank you for the great review, Jared! I’m currently trying to decide between these two models - do you think the TOA-70 is worth the extra money? The biggest differences I’m seeing are the grill feature and the front has instructions on it? I’m kind of wondering if the grill feature is actually that different than the original features (apart from the grill tray). Thank you!

    • @JaredDesrosiers
      @JaredDesrosiers  Рік тому +1

      If you don’t plan on using the grill, I’d get the TOA-60. Personally, I pretty much exclusively use air fry.

      I was doing the same thing between the two. I choose the 60 because it's a little smaller. I don't really think I'm going to grill but I liked the size. Also I got white it was a few dollars cheaper. Can't wait to get it!

    Do you still have the harbor freight bandsaw? If so what is your long term review of it. Building custom scale buildings for the rc crawler corse. Would be cutting 1x4 clear pine and MDF to framing widths. Would something like this live long enough to cut a few thousand little studs. Cool oven by the way

    • @JaredDesrosiers
      @JaredDesrosiers  Рік тому

      Yes, I do still have the bandsaw. I don’t use it regularly, but did recently use it to cut out a 3D sign made of apple wood, which is pretty hard. The saw still works as well as it did when I first purchased it.
      I think it should suffice for your needs. However, if you plan on running it straight to cut thousands of pieces, I couldn’t vouch for that. If you’re cutting them over the course of days or weeks, then I would definitely think you’d be fine (based on my experience).

  • @Bryan-lg3fn

    I have the 60 model and right out of the box i put a temperature gauge inside to test if it could maintain a constant temperature . I set it at 400 and the oven reached that temp fairly quickly but then just kept going up and past 500 and then back down and back up . Isn't that what thermostats are for , to regulate temperature ? This thing is useless if you cant trust what temp is going on inside according to where you set the dial ....

    Originally purchased the TOA 60. It leaked grease all over the counter from the rear. Was replaced by the TOA - 70 (Cuisinart said the other model was discontinued). This one leaked as well. That one was replaced. Now on my 3rd unit. It is also leaking! Grease all over the countertop.

    • @KZ-xc4zl
      @KZ-xc4zl Рік тому

      @@JaredDesrosiers I am very aware of the drip pan on the bottom of the oven. It catches crumbs and a few drips. My issue is with grease / oil leaking from the bottom / back of the oven; not a few drops, a significant amount. I'm on my 3rd oven, they have all done this. If it was just the matter of a little grease on the drip tray and having to clean it, I could live with that. Unfortunately this is a serious issue with these ovens.

    • @JaredDesrosiers
      @JaredDesrosiers  Рік тому +3

      I just thought I’d ask since it’s a statistical anomaly to have 3 units in a row with the same defect. I hope you can get the issue resolved or can find a different brand that works better for you. Good luck.

    • @Poopiepies
      @Poopiepies Рік тому +3

      This sounds like you should check if the counter is level. If it’s at a slope, that could cause the drip pan to not collect the mess properly!

    A bit bummed with this airfryer. I hate that it has dials instead of digital settings for temperature etc. Much harder to be accurate on time this way. But our biggest complaint is it LEAKS. Literally leaks grease from the corners onto my counter, no matter how clean it is or what we do. I miss my air fryer that contained everything and cost 1/3 of the price and had digital read outs. I cooked everything perfectly before, now it’s hit or miss. Go with a cheaper model/brand and you’ll be completely happy and dealing with less mess.

    I would post the whole review but way too long. Review from Best Buy purchaser 6 months ago: "The other bad thing is that you can't properly clean it. Those once white tabs are grease stained. I had been lining the tray with aluminum foil, but chicken and hamburger grease got underneath it and made a big mess. It drips grease at the left corners onto the countertop. It should be outside but that would likely finish it off. I no longer think Cuisinart is a good company and I don't trust their cheaply made products."

    I'm no expert but own the 60W model. I suspect other models with Knob functions from cuisinart are probably all the same. DO NOT BUY! Function knob will fail. Our's is used moderately but switch went bad and only "Bake" will work using the knob on the right side. There has been videos about the function knob failing. I have no idea why reviews all say its good air fryer? I understand that review is not based on usage and longevity. Second one to recycle dump.
