I've been to 26 live performances, almost 27. Had tickets for his US tour that was canceled. Let's all send positive vibes for a full recovery so he can do what he loves
I have seen Robin 13 times since 1977 (every gig he has ever played in Nashville). Even met him a couple of times. I had good tickets to see him this September when news of the tour cancellation hit. I just hope he gets thru whatever health issues he is facing and fully recovers whether he tours again or not. Thanks for a big part of the soundtrack of my life Robin. Sending good vibes from the USA.
The Dennis Booze Band 🎸
Seen him 4 times number 5 was supposed to be in Oct. Robin I hope you get better soon
Damn...I wish James and Reggie were still with us. Long live Sir Robin!!!
I'm fairly certain Trower's not been knighted, but you never know...one day?
James Dewar, one of the most underrated singer ever…
@@pateris Absolutamente! I like him more than Jack Bruce. The old couple of singing bassists...And I always liked Robin over Clapton
I have only seen him once but what an absolutely wonderful writer and guitarist. Never forgot hearing Bridge of Sighs when it first came out, I was totally blown away. Still listen to him at least a couple times a week especially great when driving. Surprised he doesn’t sing more often as he has a good voice. Such a shame James Dewar died so young as they were a match made in heaven. Thank you Robin for hours of music pleasure over the last 50 years.
i totally agree with all that. I was lucky to see him once at a House Of Blues, real close up and a great show!!!
I’ll always like Robin..
He’s a real gentleman. No Rockstar ego, a regular guy.
I’ve been a touring musician (guitar) for a long time and I can
honestly tell you, that most guitar players come close to having LSD
“ ( lead singers disease ).”
When Robin released his first album,
I was missing Hendrix’s . I studied Jimi’s technique
and learned to play all of his songs.
I wanted more of Jimi’s music, but that was over.
Not that Robin replaced him, but he had studied Jimi as well and filled that void.
Robin’s style gave me more to learn. His music built on Jimi’s.
Then you might like a guitarist by the name of Randy California from SPIRIT (rip). I think his guitar work was on par with Hendrix and even surpassed him on several tracks.
'similar' to Hendrix (Influenced) by Hendrix, initially.......As much as I love Hendrix.....I believe Robin surpassed Hendrix......and took it much further.....
@@MairyHinge That's exactly my feelings. Only Jimi could be Jimi, and his wildly creative style came from his heart. And Robin's emotive blues speaks of his personal and unique experiences, such as "Good Morning Midnight", which seems to me to be a lament for his late wife. Not a copy of anything, and uniquely Trower, written on the pages of his life. Trower has a magic touch in his finger tips and a beautiful signature tone.
@@F8Tributo Well said..... 👍
The guy is going to be 80. A true Giant. I,m 61 and I can't say how much I love the MAN. I was not there for the Power Trio originals but I'm here now.
National treasure, Robin Trower! He still brings it, fantastic
I thank Robin Trower for so many years of good music one of the best in musician. Keep on rocking brother and you look great thanks for sharing this video brother
I've been fortunate to have seen Robin 10 times here in the States. Very nice humble man. He never had a problem with chatting a bit and signing anything I brought with me. I always asked him to please personalize it to me, that way he knows you're not a sleazy autograph hound looking sell them on line. I even have unpersonalized items. Why would I sell something I took the time to get just for me? I hope he makes it to the Rockies this time round. That would be spot bloody on!🎸
I practically worshipped Trower as a child and used to dream of opening for him one day. I was fortunate enough to have realized that dream many years later on multiple occasions. You are still a living legend Robin, sending my very best!
👍🏻👍🏻 Good on you bud 👍🏻👍🏻
Jus so happy to have heard him an still listening❤
Bridge of sighs is one of my faves definitely
Immortal😂😂
I use to e mail Lisa Dewar she would always reply 🎸
We first saw him at the Warehouse New Orleans in 1974 promoting his Bridge of Sighs release. Never stopped being a fan since. We wish him well during his health concerns.
Thanks for filming this!
mr.Trower Один из моих самых любимых музыкантов. С уникальным звучанием и неповторимым гитарным исполнением,он без сомнения является одним из самых великих. Здоровья вам mr. Trower! Надеюсь,что вы еще долго будете нас радовать своим искусством.
It’s too bad that your country, wasn’t able to produce
rock music as England and the USA did.

I had the pleasure to see this guy back in the 70s ffs absolutely brilliant 🤩 he was ahead of his time, an underestimated guitarist 🙏🏻
my first was also 1974 at the Indianoplis Convention Center and I photographed everything. blew the roof off that place!! great show!!!
Robin Trower !
Saw him at Reading Festival 1975, he blew the crowd away!!!!!!!
AMAZING PLAYER!💯
Love Robin. Lots great guitarists. Eric, Jeff, Rory, Jimi, the list goes on. Take the time to check out Doyle Bramhall II live at the Great Wall. You won't regret it 😊❤
Really great sonority, Robin Trower🎸👏👏👏🙌Thanks for share.
Bridge of Sighs - first record I ever bought when it came out - I was 9 - my 11 yr old brother insisted - rode our bikes to Caldor’s.
Something tells me his stage volume is still monster-ish
It is ! Gateshead was great ! Full on but complete control 🎸
We were there reviewing this show, what an absolutely brilliant set from Robin and the boys! So great to here those Strat tones from proper loud amps!
Our photographer Dunc Tyler is down there in the pit!
Robin Trower é membro do clube 'Dos Caras', ele Hendrix,Rory, Leslie, Moore,Randy Road,Alvin Lee,Albert King e por aí vai. Quem quiser aumentar a lista manda vê Hehehe!! Abraços para todos os fans de Trower!
Been a Trower Fan for a long while. Always caught a show when he came to Portland
I wish he would play Caledonia, I'm Out To Get You, Lady Love, .... the list goes on!!! Great show none-the-less.
His music enhanced weed back in the day nothing like them roller coaster highs.
Can’t hear the vocals
Exactly
I believe it’s because of where the camera is positioned. It’s all stage volume and hardly any PA
Appreciate the video and I'm a big Robin fan, but the audio is terrible.
Get well soon, Robert! ❤
Ok, at this stage of his career he's just casually moving mountain ranges.
Still the best "guitar face" in the business
41:24 Bridge Of Sighs
Yep, great on Robin BUT I cannot hear the Vocals in this video, it sort-of sounds like RICHARD WATTS is doing an admirable job here. C. TAGGART is holding his own as well technically. The ONLY thing that's loud n proud is Robin's guitar sound, that's cool but did the sound really come out THAT unbalanced? Or is/was that intentional? I thought there was a female lead singer at one point, what happened there? Didn't she record an album's worth of songs and not tour that? So many questions...(that would make a good song title...)
Might be time to just call it, man. What else is there to prove.
Bills to pay. I doubt he’s sitting on a pile of cash. Jimmy Page has that “sit at home and chill” type of money
Nothing to prove, but people enjoy it. Look at BB King- played till almost the end. And Buddy Guy, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger...people enjoy it, so what's the problem with that?
May be wanna join better deep purple
Too bad the mix is horrible
Agreed, I was about 15 metres further over - between Robim and Richard Watts: he's a good singer and was pretty much mixed down, was still an awesome performance all round.
Slow bends slight feedback so what. Should be jammin. explosive but here it's just. Slow creepy wake me up when it's over. Too repetitive😮
That wah sounds awful.
One of the greatest guitarist ever.
Absolutely one of the best ever!
I was fortunate enough to see him in 2008 in Atlanta. After the show he signed my Strat. Even though it's worn now, you can still easily see it.
It just don't get much better than RT.
yes sir1! It would be cool to see Bill Lordan on drums again for another tour. I miss James Dewar. :-(
IN 1980, I TOOK THE GREYHOUND BUS, FROM LOS ANGELES TO THE STATE OF ARKANSAS, AND WENT TO A SMALL TOWN CALLED SHERIDAN, TO SEE A LONG TIME HIGHSCHOOL FRIEND. HAD HIS ALBUM "BRIDGE OF SIGHS" ON CASSETTE TAPE. LISTENED TO THE ALBUM, MORE THAN ONCE, BOTH GOING TO AND COMING BACK FROM ARKANSAS. GOOD TO HEAR YOU AGAIN, ROBIN!
Robin's biggest weakness is him not singing,& yes, miss James Dewers vocals, that's when Robin was at his very best! big time.@@davidrobinson4012
Yes, Robin Trower changed his entire style of playing ,when he left Procol harum, due to the fact he witnessed Jimi Hendrix playing live!
I was there. Travelled from South Wales on my own to finally get to see him and it was amazing! Still got it.
Are you from Cardiff?? Were you standing at the back of the hall before the show started, and chatted with me [Tony] and my brother Chris??
@@forearthbelow No but I was at the back near the sound desk but kept to myself
@@iamjoshandyouaredaft Appreciate you taking the trouble to reply, mate!!
I have seen him several times. Always a good show.
Glad he's still playing great fifty years after I first heard and purchased the Bridge of Sighs album. Get well and keep rocking.
79 and still doin it! Much respect!
Absolutely KILLER Strat tone.
Best sustain ever achieved on a Strat. Robin was great on Gibsons in the Procol days but the Strat is his voice.
Yes, he pulls out the true Strat tone that makes Strats legendary.
@@woodybowen5362 just like Jeff Beck, when he went strat and without a pick , his playing elevated .
I was there. Trower just one of the best. Vocalist was very good - stepping into the shoes of the great James Dewar and Jack Bruce. Shame you can't hear him too well in the big tracks.
Thank you for posting! I'm heartbroken the US tour just canceled. This was a consolation.
One of those rare, rare breed of guitarists that just gets better and better with age.
Speedy Recovery on the Health issues.!!!
Thank you for posting this. It was a great evening, and this video serves as a reminder of that. If I had one criticism, it would be that Robin's guitar almost drowned out the vocals in many places, as one can hear on this footage. Nevertheless, I feel blessed to have seen him that night, especially since his upcoming tour of the US was cancelled just a little more than a week later due to health issues. I hope that the operation goes well, Robin, and I wish you a full recovery.
after Razors edge someone in the crowd shout "and that's how you play guitar"--damn right!!!-Trower is a fabulous player and some of his latest stuff is sublime.Class.
I really liked Eric Clapton for years but now I'm discovering Robin Trower and it's opening up new sounds of the Blues with a different style and it's refreshing 😉
Eric’s playing really changed after the death of his son,
which is completely understandable.
Eric lost his fire and played the same licks over and over.
We guitar players do that, when we don’t want to think or feel.
Superb set just gets better. Met him 3 times a total gentleman. Rock on Robin.
He cancelled his US tour citing health issues.
Get well, Robin!
Thanks for shooting and posting this. Great show. Haven't seen Robin since the 80's. He's still got it in spades!
God bless this amazing man.... saw him in Sydney 1976..... always love his music....... Man of the world
We've been fortunate to have him playing live for so long! Get well soon, Robin!
Had tickets for this October 19th Borgata Music Box but do to Robin's health he has canceled the rest of the tour many blessings Robin we all love you
geil..
Long Live Robin Trower !!!
Sounds amazing but the vocals needed to be louder in the mix...the bass players voice is worthy...he's up there with James Dewar... Robin is better than Hendrix in so many ways...more soulful and heartfelt...and he is a survivor...he didn't burn himself out like so many others...he is the true GOAT
Me : Trower , the english Hendrix ?
You : Hendrix , the american Trower !
@@gep2771Exactly. Trower is great, but he just sounds like a highly inspired Hendrix guitarist. Prince was the closest in his aftershow performances. But without Hendrix Trower would not have the sound that he has. Anna Calvi is a badass guitarist live too Checkout Prince's Guitar playing on the song Habibi on Robert Lee's UA-cam channel
Trower aint better than Hendrix, and Dewar sings better than all of them
@@gep2771
Your completely missing something Hendrix is Jimmy Hendrix and Trower is his own man. He doesn’t like the analogy to Hendrix he doesn’t copy or imitate anyone he has his own style has never covered any Hendrix material .
Hendrix burnt out in little time at all took far too many drugs and paid the consequence at 27.
Whilst l acknowledge that Hendrix was one of the finest and original guitarists ever Robin Trower is still evolving now and is not living of Hendrix’s legacy.
Robin would bat you upside your empty head for trying to make him greater than Hendrix. Hendrix invented and perfected psychedelic blues guitar. Robin uses some of his licks, but Hendrix was and is the master and Trower isn't all that similar in technical terms. Stevie Ray Vaughan came close, but he always deferred to Hendrix. Trower is one of the best and it's amazing that he's still kicking ass at his age, but Jimi and Stevie were gone early, so we'll never know where they would they would have taken their sound. Robin has maximized his talent, which Jimi and Stevie were never able to do. Apples and Oranges
Robin forever, great guitar sound, thanks to the band and the recording, much appreciated
A thousand thanks for this. Legend doesn't begin to sum up the power of Trower.
Hero not faded with time. Shine on!
Robins playing is just phenomenal😉✌️😊....he needs to have a word in the Sound guys ear!....his good ear😁!!!
😂
Cool he played those Trower and Bruce tunes. I love Seven moons album and live album.
Yeah the Jack Bruce era really helped Robin grow and expand as if he needed any help but that really brought some fuel to his burning desire
@@danabigelow8844 I don't know if it "helped" Robin, but it definitely showed different shades of his playing.
Thanks for not taking as criticism it's constructive since you recorded it in front of Robin no wonder the mix is off a good engineer can find the vocal tone range and punch it up and find a subtle way and turn the guitar down a tiny bit. Don't get me wrong I like Robin loud running free, but vocals punched up would make this again A plus plus quality. Have a marvelous week my UK brother. I'm 73% Welsh 17% Irish
Wow, Robin sounds fantastic, he just keeps getting better!
Robin aways has the biggest smile to great his audience. He loves a good live crowd.
Robin Trower at Reading Festival 1975 ... one of the greatest shows I have ever seen. He was on fire and the whole audience got wild, unbelievable memories !
I was there too. What a lineup! Yes that was the Dewar Lordan lineup
Last saw Robin at the Astoria 2 back in the day. With Davey Patterson on vocals. Always class.
Was magical at both the shows, 2005 and a year or so later, I saw there.
Bridge of Sights is a masterpiece.
BRIDGE OF SIGHS IS A REAL BRIDGE IN VENICE ITALY. PEOPLE CALLED IT THE BRIDGE OF SIGHS BECAUSE IT CONNECTED THE PRISON ADMIN BUILDING TO THE ACTUAL PRISON HENCE IT WAS THE PRISONERS LAST VIEW OF VENICE.
Was my favorite band in 75 first time I saw him. And still is in 2024
Rock on Mr Robin Trower !!😎
Absolutely astonishing how he still has so much power and perfection in his playing!!
1976 Free Trade Hall Manchester, UK my first and last seeing RT , still kicking like time has never passed
Was there as well, John Miles was support.
TROWER LIVES!!!! Holy shit, the new stuff is INCREDIBLE!!!! What a musical MIND!!! Robin, you are your own CONSTELLATION!!! Fucken love you brother, we'll all be here waiting when you get back to Cali in '25🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing sound! I just relived the 70's listening to Robin.
Master.
The soundman is deaf. He's not alone
Gracias por compartir....
Gratest👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤟🏻
74 75 Louisville Gardens Louisville Kentucky stood in ft of the man and stood in Awe!!❤🎸🎤🎼🎶🎵
I've seen him 3 times and those were the best shows of my life but it's been over 35 years since then. My shows in New Jersey were just canceled but I just know he's going to make a full recovery and come back to us here. Get well, Robin!
Excelente apresentação!! Adoro o som , o timbre desse guitarrista. Ele me lembra bons tempos. Nostalgia da época do saudoso Jimi. Parabéns Robin pela sua trajetória fenomenal.
Great video quality, thank you from the US
If you got this to a good mixing board and punched up the tone range of the vocals and took about 5% out of the guitar you would have a phenomenal recording it's fantastic as it is, but more vocals would make this an A+ Plus
✔✔✔✔✔✔
He gets better with age! My fave guitarist of all time… and I seen em all.. Page, Clappers, etc
Absolutely agree! The greatest electric guitar player I've ever heard.....
I'd rather listen to Robin play more than just about anyone.
After Jeff Beck's leaving the building, listening to RT and Steve Morse (70 years) I realized the void after these guys will not be replaced. Ever.
Fantastic. Love from Minnesota USA.
Mr. Trower is magnificent. Still got it. But what up with the inaudible vocals?
recording equipment would be interesting , guess it was an iPhohone 🤔
@@Kwai-Chang-Caine ho-ho 😄
At least the directional microphone didn’t screw up the guitar tone. RT always had epic Strat/Marshall tone
I think because of position of the camera, we’re hearing mainly stage volume and hardly any PA, hence low vocals
Thanks for posting. The US portion of the tour has been cancelled, I am lucky to have seen him three times.
Gilmore and Robin need to play together. They are both great blues players and more.
We love you buddy I had knickd a poster when you played it in Southern California 😀
Damn Robin…..wah - wah - waht you say 🤟
He still plays incredible. He smokes younger guitarrists with his feeling
White Timothy Robinson Edward Allen Edward
ROBIN TROWER #1& only issue is that ROBIN Doesn't SING!!! After James Dewar, it never as good. Robin Trower would be much more revered as a guitarist if he did his own vocals.
True (in a way).....but you cannot sing and play the guitar that brilliantly......To play the guitar like that, you have to focus 💯%, on the guitar.
Damn that sound 🔥🤯🎉
Huge fan... for nearly 50 yrs. Go ROBIN
Consummate pro and unsung guitar legend...and still smokin'! Thanks for posting!
He's a guitar legend all right...but not unsung. Everybody knows Robin Trower is an incredibly amazing guitar player.
The "Rescue Me" encore is NOT the Fontella Bass song with the same title.
One of my absolute favz. Cheers 4 sharing
Saw him play in a local bar in Syracuse, NY back in 1988, amazing he is still out there doing it.
