It's very refreshing to see someone actually discuss Sarge's Heroes on here for once. I'll always concur that it's a fairly underrated game. Also, instant like for that Baba O'riley parody at 14:27
Oh god i remember these games as a kid. They were one of my favorites. The levels in big rooms with other toys strewn about was really cool. My family had these games on the n64 and gamecube
Started watching your channel after the Deer Avenger review and if I may, you got a really awsome platform going here. Between the comedy put in, the complete details pointed out, and the blunt honesty without a care what anyone else thinks, I found myself subscribing. Hell even your coyote avatar makes a good mascot for the channel. You sir deserve the diamond play button and I wish you luck getting the sub numbers to accomplish it.
Policenauts was only released in Japan, though. And the 3DO version was never translated to English, nor did the original PC-98 version. The Saturn version is the best one and that one does have an English translation patch.
So the burning plastic smell wasn't an electrical fire or a stroke it was my brain telling me about this video. I needed some good laughs before I slept and this video fixed that problem.
I remember you from the YTP days, think I first found out about you from the Sonic Stadium forums. Nice to see that you're still around! I have a special place in my heart for some of the Army Men games (The DC version of Sarge's Heroes is pretty decent, and I personally prefer the N64 version to the PlayStation version)
Definetly one of the better reviews on this franchise(well least the shooter ones). As someone who likes the basic premise of a war movie i didnt mind the simple story of the early shooter ones and to some extent even tho i didnt get very far cause i was a stupid baby child, but i somehow always remember the eery atmosphere that the lack of music resulted in and the difficulty of fighting the enemies . I only realized years later why there had been so many of these games, and my god do i feel bad for the devs as a result. FUCK CRUNCH Jim cummings and the cutscenes are pretty much almost the main reason i want to see someone attempt these games again haha. Never played the Sarge games ironically enough but i always liked Army Men so was a pleasant suprise when i looked them up years later. PS you got a Great singing voice dude, didnt expect that little number (let alone it soundin so good )
You said you played "Every Army Men game" Where's the original Army Men 1, Army Men 2, Army Men Toys in Space, Army Men World War, Army Men RTS, Army Men : Air Attack, etc. It seems like you glossed over a lot of the series.
I remember some friends of mine having a Nintendo 64 with the 64 version of Army men: Sarge's Heroes and Mario 64 and I swear to God that I couldn't get past the land mine level since it was impossible for me.
Sarges Heroes PS2 port was by far one of my favorite and, most challenging games as a kid. I’m actually watching this because i’ve got a copy coming in the mail this week
I remember sarge's heroes 1 and 2, would play the absolute crap of it when i was about 5 through 12, I would play it during christmas especially sarge's heroes 1 in the living room level where it was christmas aswell and having the music play because its so festive. I loved Air Attack, and RTS. I wish i hadn't sold the original cartridges or cds-roms.
As a Long Time Army Men Fan, here's a list of The BEST Army Men Games Ever Made: - Army Men - Army Men 2 - Army Men 3: Toys in Space - Army Men: World War (THE PC RTS GAME, NOT THE CONSOLE ONES) - Army Men RTS - Army Men: Air Attack / Air Combat - Army Men: Air Attack 2 And I guess Sarge's Heroes & Sarge's Heroes 2 are DECENT; The First One, especially. But the rest of them are all Varying Degrees of Bad. The Moral of This Story: Stick with the Army Men Games on PC. Stay Away from the Console Games like the plague. Then your experience with Army Men will be a far more positive one overall.
Honestly Army Men II is still somewhat fun, although I usually only play the levels that take place in the real world. Countless hours spent as a kid being inspired and setting up levels like in the game in my Kitchen and Garden.
To be entirely fair to the toy companies’ choice of color, making Japanese soldiers painted yellow makes sense because their uniforms were yellowish-tan. And rather than picking the precise color of their uniform it was probably easier and cheaper to just buy “YELLOW” in bulk than some more precise color.
I hope you possibly revisit some of these as Sarge’s Heroes 1 had a Dreamcast port, there was a PS2 port of Green Rogue and I think Portal Runner is definitely worth talking about. Also for Sarge’s Heroes on PS2 you will definitely have a better time playing on Easy since the game is unfairly difficult. I recommend easy mode since you will definitely be able to get further in the game. Also Sarge’s Heroes 2 has an N64 port. Oh, and speaking of Small Soldiers I recommend possibly doing a video on games based on that movie. There was a PS1 game, a GameBoy game and two for PC.
There seems to be this weird trend of some publishers and devs having childish meltdowns over getting harsh reviews despite their content being clearly half-assed.
I grew up with these. 3D, sarges heroes, etc. my mom played them a lot when I was little, they were her favorite games, and still are. I honestly love them, as clunky as they are. They’re a wonderful series of games that gave me reality to the little plastic toys i obsessed over for many years. They went to sh*t after SH2 tho IMO
Honestly, Green Rogue was the death of my interest in the Army Men franchise. It felt like we were getting less and less features with every Army Men game, and this one took away your ability to move freely, and became a rail shooter. That was the final straw. To this day, kinda wish there was an Army Men game done with environmental destruction, a darker story (I mean really, they never did enough with the concept of being a small soldier in a giant world. Stuff could be TERRIFYING.), and a kick butt multiplayer similar to the Battlefield franchise. So far, the closest I've gotten to it is 'Attack On Toys', but honestly there's just a bit too much spam and chaos for me to enjoy it.
I still have a few of the ps1 games. I don't think 3D had music, nor did team assault. I remember the sarges heros and air attack games having music. Also I remember being able to get to like the 4th or 5th level on the ps2 version of sarges heros 2 back in the day.
Only card games I play involve pulling the jokers out of the deck and you’re sure sounding like a joker, Jack. Maybe you’re 2 cards short of a full house
I enjoyed the Sarge's Heroes games on the N64 more than the Playstation ones lol. Had a lot of fond memories of Army Men RTS and Toys in Space. Air Combat was also a lot of fun but I think I just had a sick joy in manipulating the bugs to do my bidding by hauling food around the map and watching them fight the tan army lol. Those other games however, I could not make myself play them lol. And their xbox release of the last Sarge's Heroes game was barely playable. It played well, but I hated everything about it and it felt like they were deliberately trying to murder their IP as a final farewell with a middle finger.
It's very refreshing to see someone actually discuss Sarge's Heroes on here for once. I'll always concur that it's a fairly underrated game.
Also, instant like for that Baba O'riley parody at 14:27
I loved Army Men 1, 2, and Toys in Space as a kid. Remember them coming out and loving them. Army Men 1 was one of my first PC games.
an avgn video, two joel videos, and a working man games video all in the same day? this is awesome
Links to said vids, please?
Sarge's Heroes might as well be "Jim Cummings: The Game".
Ohh snap good one
"Lerleana and Earl-bob"
First video of yours I've seen, 50 seconds in, absolutely slayed me man. Definitely subscribing.
same holy shit lol
"what if i couldnt afford the $200 it costs to hire Jim Cummings on Cameo" i was expecting some kind of joke like that. lol
A game reviewer with a southern accent covering one of the games that I played to death as a kid? Have a free subscribe, good sir.
Hey to be fair the Japanese Army had some pretty yellow-beige uniforms
*Infinite Bazooka Spread Gun*. That alone makes Green Rogue the best Army Men game so far.
It realy, wasn't it was horrible
The Army Men series means a lot to me...
Oh god i remember these games as a kid. They were one of my favorites. The levels in big rooms with other toys strewn about was really cool. My family had these games on the n64 and gamecube

He's southern like accent with a coyote avatar fits well like the final peace of the puzzle.
Army men air attack on N64/PS2 Amazing. I remember Sarge Heroes 2 was sold as a budget title on PS2 at launch.
"Fuck!" *explosion* - Sarge
Jim cummings is gods gift to humanity
At least the 3DO had Policenauts on its console, published Battletanx and then did nothing else worth a damn. Good job, guys.
Policenauts was only released in Japan, though.
And the 3DO version was never translated to English, nor did the original PC-98 version.
The Saturn version is the best one and that one does have an English translation patch.
Global Assault is underrated, that's why I'm making a successor.
"The one that mmmm... died" that shit is way to funny
This is your best video yet, mate. Informative and very, very funny. 10/10. Can't wait for Part 2!
I'm so happy I discovered this under rated channel
You earned my sub merely by that description in the beginning. Also your avatar fits your voice
Please make many more of these, entertaining and very polished; you need way more views sir
So the burning plastic smell wasn't an electrical fire or a stroke it was my brain telling me about this video. I needed some good laughs before I slept and this video fixed that problem.
Kinda liked the army men games as a kid, I have fond memories of the helicopter one especially
I remember you from the YTP days, think I first found out about you from the Sonic Stadium forums. Nice to see that you're still around!

Played Sarges Heroes, 3D, and Air Attack on the PS1/N64 growing up. Sarges war on the Xbox. These games were 10/10 phenomenal back then.
I loved the army men series growing up, air attack 1&2
You're right, they should have just used the time/funds for a TV show,, might have killed Butt Ugly Martians. :D
This many army men games in under almost a year I see where call of duty got the yearly releases from this guy would've had a set career at activision
Lmao at the end your reaction to the spread bazooka was the hardest I’ve laughed in months
3:34 I mean I didn't even have that enter my mind until you brought it up.
I mean, since they are Army Men, and they would technically be made from the same molds, it only makes sense that they share one voice actor.
You said you played "Every Army Men game"
Where's the original Army Men 1, Army Men 2, Army Men Toys in Space, Army Men World War, Army Men RTS, Army Men : Air Attack, etc.
It seems like you glossed over a lot of the series.
He said every console release
I loved these games. Didn’t really play air ones and I didn’t know about the rts one until a few years ago. Would love to see it make a comeback
Loved the Army Men games...
Loved the intro I grew up on this game and I'm having a graphics issue and came across your channel. Here's a sub.
The strafing mode in sarge’s heroes was broken. You literally cant die when strafing 😆
Holy smokes, I remember you from the YTP days!
Glad to see you are still making things.
I remember some friends of mine having a Nintendo 64 with the 64 version of Army men: Sarge's Heroes and Mario 64 and I swear to God that I couldn't get past the land mine level since it was impossible for me.
Dude, Air Combat for the N64 was like one of my first games ever as a kid, so this is an amazing crash on whatever the hell this series was.
Sarges Heroes PS2 port was by far one of my favorite and, most challenging games as a kid. I’m actually watching this because i’ve got a copy coming in the mail this week
NGL, I thought these games were a shared fever dream me, my dad and my brother had.
1998 PC game was actually a lot of fun. The 3rd person shooter version does seem jank though
There's apparently a dreamcast version of sarges's heroes? Oooh, I wonder if it has any online functionality!
Someone else who recognizes the greatness of Battletanks.
There's dozens of us, dozens.

20:02 I didn't expect the cameo from Sandy Cheeks
the cutscenes are amazing
Jesus this is one of those channels I forgot I sub to long ago 😅 good job BTW 👏
if you were to sub to him long time ago his content would be different then the game reviews
Oh my lanta lol. I’m on an Army Men kick right now so naturally I came across this video, and I’m SO GLAD I DID LOL!!! This guy is hilarious!
Honestly Army Men II is still somewhat fun, although I usually only play the levels that take place in the real world. Countless hours spent as a kid being inspired and setting up levels like in the game in my Kitchen and Garden.
I'm getting some serious _Action Man_ vibes from those cut scenes. Hmm, I wonder if Mainframe Entertainment secretly did the animation work?
Man i loved these games as a kid
I had a lot of fun with these games and toys.
To be entirely fair to the toy companies’ choice of color, making Japanese soldiers painted yellow makes sense because their uniforms were yellowish-tan. Dude. The army men games for the ps1 were awesome.
Dude i loved these games as a kid
I loved Army Men 3DO. Honestly, more than the Sarge's Heroes games.
Also where is the source of this alleged response from Trip Hawkins at 20:00? Where is the link to this article?
Battle tanks needs a reboot it's an underrated classic ❤
As someone who played Sarge's Heroes on the PS2
Grow stronger
I really want to buy that album man. Lol 14:43
There seems to be this weird trend of some publishers and devs having childish meltdowns over getting harsh reviews despite their content being clearly half-assed.
15:44 It sounds like someone threw instruments down a flight of stairs
I had army men toys as a kid, I think I tried to combined them with some playing cards and make a game with the two
3DO games were good overall. Heroes 3 of might and magic is a masterpiece that is still played to this day
Sarges heroes was fun growing up countless hours
I always loved the series. Got a lot of variety and while not every game is great a good portion of them are fun and imo fun is all that matters.
What’s funny is that Jim Cummings is a Southerner himself.
And yet he cannot do a Yeehaw properly.
I hope I'm not the only one who picked up on the piccolo lays a beatdown reference
16:58 was I the only one that catched that WTS dubs reference?
Not part of this series but 'Mean Greens' was really fun while it had a playerbase for about 2 months
I searched Army Men for some childhood nostalgia and this is what I get, a raving furry.
God this is the video I waited for a long time
Worker's day new Working Man Games, hell yeah!
Hey! I have a soft spot for the series. I even liked some of the games.
1:08 Holy fuck i had the machine gunner on the left. Think I ate half his machine gun
Holy crap, 3DO went Full Sarkeesian over a decade ahead of schedule?
I grew up with these. 3D, sarges heroes, etc. my mom played them a lot when I was little, they were her favorite games, and still are. I honestly love them, as clunky as they are. I have fond memories of the first two PC games.
I wish you wouldn't be so hard on yourself, even if ironically. Your show is great.
I loved army men 2 and space wars as a kid on pc
11:01 Glad I had the PS1 version.
The only Army Man game i've really played in-depth was Army Men: Sarge's War. That one wasn't half bad.
12:48 idk why this made me laugh so much
I mean... I played the Army Men series. So, you've got that going for you, which is nice.
I still have a few of the ps1 games. I don't think 3D had music, nor did team assault. I remember the sarges heros and air attack games having music. Also I remember being able to get to like the 4th or 5th level on the ps2 version of sarges heros 2 back in the day.
Another great series of videos
Battle Tanks was epic. I liked the Army Men games growing up, personally. Sarges Hero’s was the best though.
I'm sorry, man. I can't watch this.
Don't bash 3DO, man. That shit was my jam!
This guy sounds like he has an epic old school magic the gathering collection buried in a closet
Only card games I play involve pulling the jokers out of the deck and you’re sure sounding like a joker, Jack. Maybe you’re 2 cards short of a full house
@@StuartKReillyMake more videos, you strange autist.
I enjoyed the Sarge's Heroes games on the N64 more than the Playstation ones lol. Had a lot of fond memories of Army Men RTS and Toys in Space. Great vid dude
If this is the shittiest review show on UA-cam, how come I lost all my laughter at the Doug Walker bit
I LOVED Sarge's Heros.
I love your music
There are cutscenes in the n64 version of sarges heroes 1 if you know took the time and effort like I did and play it.
The tan commander in the first cutscene you showed is pretty much Xi Jinping if he were an Army Man.
I still like the original army men sarge's heroes games at anytime
