What do you think of the new 992?
That's quite a fast Beetle..

@@krisjanismezulis1958 nice joke
when is the Nissan GT-R review
I like beetles and I love beetles with a horse on it
0-100 in 3.4 sec with only that kind of horsepower and torque
Porsche engineers are something else.
dyno reports suggest this car is underrating its power numbers
Porsche is conservative with numbers, it probably has more horsies than they claim
rear engine is the magic word. ont that impressive for AWD, but the RWD does almost the same figure
It’s not engineering it’s called lying about numbers they make what they claim at the wheels and not the crank and they have max grip and traction with awd and rear engine weight basis so that’s not hard to do. 0-60 is more grip than hp. A 480 hp awd car with launch control can out accelerate a 750 hp rwd car to 60 but after that and 100 the hp takes over because a rwd car is grip and traction limited on a dusty unprepared street . At the drag strip with a sticky tire the rwd car will have the advantage. With a 1.2-1.3 6 0 foot awd can beat only a 1.49-1.6 60 foot
Every Porsche of recent years has been underrated by about 10%. Thats because how Weissach does the testing. The official numbers aren't ones achieved under optimal conditions, but rather with a whole cataloge of imperfections and unoptimal conditions purposefully put in place. Its kind of like a guaranteed minimum horsepower number, that will be achieved even under suboptimal and more realistic conditions. In that way Porsche is a lot more honest than most other manufacturers.
I took delivery of my 992 C4S on Oct 15. I’ve driven 6,500 miles in sunshine, pouring rain, snow, ice, everything possible. This car ROCKS! It is definitely bigger than my 996 Turbo X50, but what a grand GT-style sporting car. Faster than stink, sticks to the road like paint, solid as an Abrams tank, more spacious interior, etc. I’d do it all over again.
Ayo, you have the 996 Turbo S?? (I'm not sure between a normal 996 Turbo with the X50 option or the 996 Turbo S) Thats my dream 911!
Memory unlocked: Porsche built some of the best tanks in history.
These were the best "launch Control" faces I have seen these guys make lol.
levi carpenter yeah some of their launch Controls I watch like 5 times over, they looks like they have so much fun, they smile and giggle like children lol.
sounds like TheStraightPipes should really make a compilation of their "launch control" faces as a single video.

Alex K. Amazing isn’t it?
30 years ago, 450 hp was one of the two best supercars of the 1980’s (w/ the F40).
Now 450 hp is a Carrera 🤯
@@jstoli996c4s Imagine if one day the 911 has the power of a 918 spyder

@@eddiedonald9571 well they do look like VW bugs, and are made by the same company lol
The front end here looks so much like a 964 and I love it.
Yeah!
The perfect daily for someone without kids and loves driving!!
I have kids and I'm getting a 911 next year😎
Kids does fit in the rear seats,no problem there
Kids under 10 years old can definitely fit in the back even a toddler seat can
I'd just leave the kids home with the maid
I think the without kids was because of the pricetag, not rear seating 😅
I just drove a 2020 Carerra S at Porsche Experience near my place out here in California. It was absolutely surreal. Hands down the best car I've ever driven. It was brutally fast in a straight line and had amazing control around the track. I love my 2010 997 C2S but the 992 is next on my list. It was absolutely mind-blowing.
When Yuri said lightning at 3:23 I thought about James from Donut
James had a heart attack unfortunately.
But fortunately he survived.
He didn't????
@@BirdiesGoCherp him and the straight pipes met up actually!
Follow us on Instagram. James is doing alright!
Hope he recovers soon.
Love that interior. They did focus on enhancing the sound in 992, it is getting a lot better. I took advantage of someone else taking the depreciation and got a 991.1 - and right now I still think that is my favorite choice. 7 speed is clunky but that 3.8 NA motor can't stop putting a smile on your face. You guys should check one out, old school Carrera S.
Porsche is the smart mans supercar because of how beautiful and masterfully engineered it is.
It’s rly sad tho they break fast due to that over engineering by Germans at vw
I'd say the 720s is smarter
Ugh I forgot my name they are one of the most reliable German sports cars you can buy. They are really reliable.
Ugh I forgot my name bullshit, Porsche’s are known for their reliability..
implodingbaby Mclarens are for 25 year old trust fund babies parading around Beverly Hills pretending to be movie producers
My dream car in manual transmission with white exterior and espresso interior. EPIC.
Sounds classy 😍
Mohamed Adnan exactly how I would order it!
Mohamed Adnan just got green mamba Macan GTS with espresso interior, love it
Nice
I’m so happy that Porsche added a manual transmission option for the 992 #savethemanuals
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH ok boomer
are you thinking about buying it in manual?

Bob Chen c8 can’t handle like a 911
@@Deep_Blu boxer engine helps with that
@@bobchen8191 C8 could never keep up on a track and has shitty plastics all over.
@@SoccerBoi500 i wouldn't say that , but yeah the c8 will not be able to keep up the 4s . The interior is definitely not bad , i mean the bias is real ,but okay . (In the c8)
@@Deep_Blu has anyone tested the handling of a C8 yet? I haven't heard any track times or anything yet. I think you're just assuming at this point?
Love it when they talk proper units 0-100 km in these many seconds, none of that quarter mile crap🙂
The 911 has always been my dream car and it still is!!!
The best Sportscar has gotten even better. Like with every new generation.
It’s amazing how the 911 gets bigger with each generation but the rear seat space gets tighter and tighter.
They need to just go ahead and drop the backseat, get the motor all the way in front of the rear axle, and be done with it.
@@adamscottv thats a 718
@@jetsetsea 718 is a smaller car, different aesthetic, AND the Cayman is going to be the electric platform from 2025 forward.
Porsche has been an acquired taste for me.. I never like the "anonymous" look of them, and wondered why people were crazy about it..
However, the past year I've become really fond of them. And now, this new 911.... Man, I really like it.
One thing that I love about the Porsche 911 is that it is a luxury car that is not flashy.
wow.. these dudes have come a LONG way from when I first watched them - props
I only have the money to buy a Corolla, why am I still watching this video.
I don't even have the money to huy a corolla but still watching
Because your subconscious wants you to start thinking about a pre-owned one instead ;)
Because one day you’ll have the money to get one. Happy New Year!!!
If you can't dream it, you have no chance of owning it!
gange21 unless you’re lucky enough to be born with a silver spoon it all starts with those dreams. Then also how you intend to go forward and make those dreams real.
fun fact: the breaklights are a pause sign cause when you break the engine pauses...
I love the new 911 but I wish they would have included a heads up display and a better protective grill for the front radiator coils!
“Now it has its own dedicated braun shaver” 😂
Yes! I have been calling it a small sex toy, but the braun shaver might a better interpretation.
That Dark Blue colour! Dang 🔥
Red leather interior (or gray)
"My favorite part of the back end is those wide hips..." 😂 Yea, that makes two of us.
Am I the only one that doesn't like the snap, crackle, and pops of modern performance exhausts? I often think of them like the laugh track of a sitcom, and if you remove it, all you're left with is a hairdryer symphony.
I like em but not every car needs them. Rn it's becoming a little played out.
It's almost like you have no idea about emission laws.
@@Alby911 I've heard of them.
They sound like farts to me! I absolutely hate them. 9/10 modern cars ruin the exhaust for me
I hate them since the first time I heard them from jag/land rover I believe
Just got myself a 2020 in Guards Red/Black with Black Rims.... only 8K miles. Had a little coolant leak day after I picked it up... A little concerned but confident its not a big issue.
I really like the looks of this car, my dad has a 79’ 911 targa and I see so much of it in the design of this car, like those lines in the hood and the wrap around light bar. Definitely looks better than last gen in my opinion
*incoming boomers detected*
More please, we need more. This is by far the most complete and comprehensive hands on of cars on the internet, load these dudes up with work and exhaust them. The only thing I would like is a portion where an engineer or mechanic does an undercarriage and engine walkthrough along with the easy things like can I change the oil lol or is there a massive cover over the whole car and you need a phd to work on it.
i love this car. cant wait for the gt's of the 992.
The exclusive design wheels -similar to the 50th anniversary, take the looks of any 911 to a whole new level. I have a silver 2017 4S and it makes the car. I can’t imagine wanting any other option. Great content, btw.
What a violent launch control! Thanks for the great content guys!
Rewatching this two years later. It’s crazy to see how many followers you’ve gained since then. Your content has even improved tenfold.
I have the 18’ C4S, and can’t wait to get a 992 in couple of months. And my wife,s 18’ Cayenne to a 20 Cayenne Turbo!
blacksc400 Someone’s got money eh
Congrats! You two must’ve got them by now.. So how are they doing now?
I know you can delete the badges, but the Porsche 911 Carrera 4s logos looks like someone is learning for the first time the difference between regular, bold, and italics. It looks a bit porky to me, but i'm sure is a blast to drive if you can find the proper place to put it through its paces.
Agree, would definitely delete the logo on this one.
I think this is a perfect spec for a (C4S) in a resale situation a few years from now..sweet!
if you raise your pinky while shifting, it should look MUCH better
I never thought I'd see a reviewer rub his beard on the shifter. First time for everything.
The gauges are a throwback to the 356 gauges from the 1950’s.
The one useful thing that came from the hundreds of hours I spent playing need for speed 5.
I don't usually like a video before watching, but we all knew this was gonna be good.
1 million subscribers in 2020! You guys deserve it.
Yuri should start linking his sweatshirt/jacket/shirt in the description because I need this sweatshirt and most of the other ones he wears too.
If someone pays me to wear clothes I’ll do it
I’m glad y’all showed the key FOB please continue this as well as car lock sounds, and turn signals!!
I would definitely take a C8 Corvette for half the price
Great review guys. I came to the same conclusion after testing out the 992 CS and I bought a demo 2019 Turbo for LESS. Yes, Less. Porsche Winnipeg has great deals in the winter. The deals for 991.2 is best I've ever seen. GT3s with a few thousands kms for 179k.
9:16 I'm going to pause right here quick to thank you for the 'X's on the headlamps and the generous 14-yr old designed chin spoiler in your 'GT' render. Carry on...
Ryan Verrastro bro you sent me to the adv
Love your guys comment and attitude! No big screen fake performances, just cars, sounds, speed and laughs! That’s a global language mate! 👌🏻
Oh and BTW love the 992 Carrera. It’s a bit less petrolhead and more all rounder. But it’s good. Can’t fault it.
I meant content not “comment”. Apple spell check. 😂
Yuri must be shopping from the James May catalog
James May is shopping from the Yuri catalogue
You guys missed a tiny cool detail. The third brake light and slots in back make 992. There’s 9 slots on each side of the third brake light and the light is 2 slots. 9-9-2 ;)
They need to seriously re-do that ugly shifter.
Don't see that as a big deal for a button that's only used twice on each drive..
from the 918
@n s There is an "M" button below the gear lever that puts you into manual mode. Also, you can use the paddles to shift at any time, even when in Auto mode.
If you guys count the rear lines by the 3rd break light it’s 9 lines and then 11 in the light
That shifter is tiny it reminds me of that Bus Driver Meme video shifting 😂
Holy shit i feel like 500k subs was just yesterday. As always kudos to yuri’s camerawork and keep up the good work guys!
As always incredible review, again smiling. Love the 911, I hope you get a base 2 wheel drive when out in January to compare this to. I wonder if the cost of the 4S is worth the minimal HP increase.
I think worth it just for the better brakes
I love the way this car seamlessly melds new class with old class. That wing and rear look amazing!
6:11 "It's weird but I really like it"
Does sound like Yuri yeah
Aside from looking like a pause symbol, the third brake light in the middle represents the number 11 and there are 9 vent lines to the left and 9 to the right respectively.
Nobody:
Jacob: *attempts to shave with the auto shifter😂😂
First, the looks on both your faces at 0:29 had me dyin' because it seems to have really caught you off guard, but on another note, Braun shaving shifter aside, I love the look/layout of the interior/dash. That's one area where Porsche tends to nail it most of the time to me. I even like the subtleness of the fog/daytime running lights integrated in the bumper. Very nice. Thanks for posting, and yeah, Yuri did go there with the Prowler comparison. Lol.
This is definitely one of my favorite cars of all the time.
911 C4S is on my dream car list. Personally I'd rather have that over a GT3. Turbo + AWD =
Yuri (glaring): "So, hit the button."
Me: "Fine... fine, fine... "
I love how they widened all the proportions. This is a seriously attractive car in my eyes and it will be even better when the manual comes out
I’m not trading my 2019 Carrera T manual for a 992, but I like many of the changes. We’ll see later how the manual version goes and what variants they come up
with in the next few years.
Man, I think Porsche really did something special with the 991 Carrera T. Super jealous you nabbed one. Love when a manufacturer gets a parts bin special and knocks it put of the park. 🫡
Yeah,... it's killer. The 996TT X50 is 450/450 0-60 in 4... how did they make this faster with less power and torque? Amazing! Fun review!
He really put his beard on the shifter 🤣🤣
How else would I verify whether or not it is a Braun shaver?
Thought he was shifting that way for a second. Lol
😂😂😂
That wee little shifter looks like they couldn't decide, one team wanted to remove it all together, the other wanted to keep a standard size, chunky shifter. So they compromised, with this weird, little, shiftlet thing.
I’ll take one with a manual gearbox please.
Our friend Mat Watson timed the 0-100 in 3,0. Also he said the horsepower is 450. I doubt extra 7 horses could drop the time by 0,4. Great review as usual!!
Yuri always has the best shirts/sweaters 🔥
4S is the ultimate daily for a car guy. Roof racks, can drive in snow, etc. C8 is a different sort of thing. That would be a good second car...if it came in a manual.
SERIOUS QUESTION: Where can I get that hoodie?
Salvation Army.
My neighbors 13 yr old daughter has the exact same one,I'll ask her.Lol.

Can’t remember the exact differences but I feel like I like how the last gen looked better.
Y’all, those camera angles were off the charts. You guys rock!
I'm at 1:21 , just because you said "6 cylinder BOXER engine" I'm subscribed.
Everybody else's channels naming this master piece of engine "flat six" I mean wtf,do they even know advantages of this cylinder configuration?
I personally prefer the gauges , the shifter and the look of previous generation.Still a nice car for sure though, I mean it's a Porsh... Porsche, right!?
Holy shit, how did I miss this? Notification bell ENABLED!
though there are a ton of reviewers out there ... you guys are my all time favourite out of carwow, MT, doug, throttle house and everyone else... just wanted to let you know.
Appreciate that very much! A lot of great people on UA-cam
Just subscribed coming to this video after watching the Redeye challenger vid
the lines in the hood make the front end look amazing to me for some reason, wouldn't think they'd make that much of a difference. love the lower fascia in the front too.
Lol 😂 “ using your dinky little fingers to shift”
The 4S is enough you don’t need GTS or GT3 this thing can be tuned over 550bhp anyways it’s mad enough
the GT2 Rs is my favorite out of them all
911 just keep getting better and better 😍😍😍

@@danishsheikh7397 APR tunes are out now for 992's. The C2S and C4S are capable of up to 627HP and 533TQ with just tune, no bolt on parts ect.
The spoiler when deployed is supposed to be inspired from the 959 rear according to a Product Manager I talked to at a launch event.
I’d have to get a manual just to get rid of that ugly pdk shifter
I won't be running out and trading my '19 991.2 C4S for a 992. I like the old gauges, hate piano black trim (got brushed aluminum), got Sport Package as well, optional wheels, paint plus a few other options and it was still 15K less than a similar 992 with only 23HP difference. It has a manual NOW. BTW, close the frunk by pressing on the crest where there's more structure, the lid is aluminum and can easily deform (via Porsche NA delivery instructions), details, details...
I think the digital dash will age really poorly. The 991 will be the better option in 15ish years. It’s the same reason rolls Royce/Bentley/Bugatti still use a lot of physical switches so they won’t outdated quickly
Can digital gauges age poorly, aesthetically?
Porsche is the only car manufacturer that can perfect perfection.
