Do you think that the Thunder will have their pick or the Clippers pick? They are really close in the playoff race and play each other again tonight after playing 2 days ago. If OKC win again, and beat the Lakers tomorrow, the Clippers and Thunder will be tied in the standings. The West is super interesting down the stretch.
Part of me wishes KD would have signed his 1+1 with okc just to give them that last chance because we legitimately could have seen a russ-PG13-KD-Grant-Adams starting 5.
I don’t think that ever would have happened. What would have been more likely is a starting 5 of Russ-Oladipo-KD-Grant-Horford since horford was leaning OKC if Durant re-signed. Wish we could have seen that though… remember Sabonis was raw at that point and Horford was a veteran floor spacing big coming off a dominant Atlanta team. A shooting big is something we desperately needed all the years we had Russ and KD

I’m a Nuggets fan, but OKC has turned into my 2nd favorite team just because of how amazing this rebuild has been. I’m so split on what they should do with all these premium picks they have. Part of me wants to see them trade these picks for a superstar to group with SGA, Giddey, Jalen, and Chet to create one of the most insane starting 5s ever. Another part of me wants them to keep all their picks to create one of the deepest and most impressive rosters ever if they can hit on a few more picks. Either way, they have a chance to create a dynasty like the NBA has never seen before.
Lots of people already know about Serge Ibaka basically becoming Paul George but here's the part that not a lot know: Serge Ibaka was originally drafted with a draft pick that OKC got because of taking on Kurt Thomas's contract. And they wouldn't have that cap room had they not received a trade exception from sending away Rashard Lewis in a sign and trade, who was already about to sign with Orlando anyways. Meaning that OKC got Paul George, who was flipped into their current star, SGA, and their future for years to come, in exchange for a player that they didn't even want on the roster.
The SGA trade was first. And you’re missing the biggest factor. Ibaka was traded for all of it. Ibaka was traded for oladipo and sabonis who were traded for pg which turned into all this.
