    DeMarcus Cousins was good with the Pelicans. Pelicans swept Portland in the first round that year. Cousins tore his achilles. The Pelicans offered him a 2yr-40mil deal that was basically a 40mil for 1yr because 1yr would be rehabilitation. He turned it down. He hasn't made 10mil since then. The worst decision of his career.

    When the Knicks traded porzingis, I thought it was an all time low for the team. But now, looking back, porzingis probably never would have been viewed as highly by that point in his career if he wasn't the only good player on a huge market team. And trading a guy who's 7'3 and had barely played for like 2 years because of constant lower body injuries, rather than giving him a rookie max extension, was actually one if the smartest moves the Knicks have made. Even tho I think they made that smart move almost accidentally because their whole reason for doing it was to clear out cap space in their half assed pipe dream attempt to sign kyrie and kd. But hey it worked out well for us

      as a dallas mavs fan, i remember the talk at the time was that we won the trade. we gave y'all absolutely nothing of value for a player people believed would run the league with luka. in actuality, his injuries persisted during his tenure with dallas and we ended up trading him for nothing and if we dont get that top 10 protection on that pick, you guys easily win this trade. but its a lose lose as of now, which was not expected at all

    A trade I was wrong about was the Dallas Mavericks acquiring Christian Wood from the Rockets. I thought that when they got Wood, Doncic and Wood would be an incredible offensive duo, that with steps up from both Doncic and Wood, would be a top 3-4 team in the west, possibly leading to Luka winning MVP

    I'm a cavs fan and I was unsure about the Donovan Mitchell trade at first. Then during the season thought it may have been a good trade, but now I'm starting to wonder if it was worth it again. You can't tell me that the cavs wouldn't have had a similar level of success if they kept the same roster as the 2022 season. Sexton wanted too much money, so you can still trade him but trade him for Malik Monk or someone else instead. Now we're locked into a tiny backcourt and a frontcourt that has no shooting. The team's construction is becoming questionable and the only way I see it getting fixed is by moving Jarrett unless you can somehow get a good wing in free agency.

    The Thunder easily won the trade for Paul George. Oladipo had a lot of injuries and would've had no value in a few years if they had kept him. Sabonis never really ended up doing much for the Pacers. The Thunder flipped Paul George to the Clippers for so many picks and SGA. Paul George also helped Westbrook get to the playoffs and helped get him his MVP season. That one move for Paul George was a smashing success. SGA is a huge part of the Thunder's young core right now.

    A Kings insider named James Ham has a podcast called the Kings Beat Podcast. He has some very interesting details about the Cousins trade. Remember after the trade the Kings GM Vlade said he had a "better trade" package for Cousin and everyone was stunned that he didn't take that trade offer. Apparently James Ham said the Kings were suppose to get one more first round pick from the Pelicans. But when Cousin's and his Agent found out about the trade they didn't like it because they wanted to stay in Sacramento to get that huge contract extension. Cousin's didn't want to go to the Pelican's because he knew they wouldn't get that much money if he resigned with them (I think this was the main reason). So Cousin's agent called the Pelican's and told them that Cousin's did not want to be in New Orleans. When the Pelicans heard this they called the Kings back and somehow were able to make a deal but with one less first round draft pick. So the Kings were suppose to get 2 first round picks instead of 1 fist round pick before Cousin's team interfered. I can't remember if James Ham told this story on his podcast or on the D-Lo and KC show on ESPN Sacramento 1320. (I'm trying to find the video when he said this)

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W Рік тому

      @@akamikedavid I dunno whose 'everyone' that believed that. Wiggins wasn't a first option player that the Wolves and some of their fans wanted to believe. Warriors chose to play him as the 3rd/4th option behind Dray's playmaking and Klay's scoring once he came back. That worked out marvelously because that was the role Wiggins was best at.
      Russell I feel did alright but there is no surprise with all the long term deals done last season involved KAT (his buddy) and Anthony Edwards (the real prized talent for the T-wolves). His contract would be up 2023 and the Wolves wanted to go a different direction with the Gobert trade and his contract won't be up till 2026. So it was fine for the Wolves to flip Russell and have some other team figure out paying him his new contract.

    Sabonis and Haliburton trade definitely. Everyone, including you on this channel, called it a horrible trade and it was a win-win, or even a King's win because they made it to the 3rd seed in the playoffs, broke their 16 year drought, and Fox became an All-star with Sabonis, who had his best season in his whole career. Yeah....the Kings proved everyone wrong, including you, Tucker.

    Living in Boston it’s gotta be the Celtics-Nets trade. When the Celtics did that everyone here was freaking out like wtf

      There was a bit of a freak out but it was destined to go there anyway. Unless there were some blind Celtic fans who didn't see the Garnett-Pierce-Allen had a short championship window from 2008 on. If anything what the fans didn't realize is HOW MUCH VALUE the Nets gave up just to help the Celtics safely rebuild for 5-7 years straight. Just to have old Pierce and Garnett along with some overpaid mid players outside of their prime with that Nets group that was overpaid thanks to Proky's pockets. Dude straight up thought he could still buy a chip.

    Play-in games are happening and the playoffs are around the corner; what am I going to talk about?
    Trades that nobody understood and everybody was wrong about. Sure. It’s not like there’s any interesting games going on.

    I got one. The Chauncey Billups-Allen Iverson trade. At the time, the Pistons were still a championship caliber team (despite being 4 years removed from their ring). AI was seen as an upgrade from Billups, and people thought "what was Denver thinking?" Turns out, Piston's team chemistry broke, and they have not won a single playoff game since then. Meanwhile, Denver made it to the WCF that year. Although that was about all that happened to the nuggets, you can still argue that everyone was wrong, and Denver won that trade.
