Okay I’ll put this comment for all my 2020 peeps everything in this video works he shows you everything correct. Of course you are going to have a newly dated clone hero but it’s fine it’s literally the same thing. So for the songs you actually wanna put them under “SOngs” that’s in the clone hero application. That’s the only change. One other thing is the method to connect your controller doesn’t work no more which is the one he showed instead you wanna install “wiitarthing” look a UA-cam video for it. It is really easy and works very well that’s all everything else is like he said.

@Reuben Richardson so what i did was to connect the Wii controller and the guitar just as he said on the video and the I started clone hero, so when you are on the main menu you just press the space case and then the "+" on the bottom of the guitar
It’s not working I’m not able to use my color buttons or anything else but everything everything else works on my laptop but it’s not doing anything for letting me use the joystick and start button
To anyone with a wii guitar I highly recommend you get a raphnet adaptor, it's way less hassle and hardly any latency, I believe you can get it for around $30 American plus shipping. Also this might just be personal preference but I recommend winrar over 7 zip. P.S. if you have an xbox 360 explorer controller, it's just plug and play, your pc will recognize it and so will the game, you don't even need to program the buttons, plus it's one of the few controllers that you can tilt to use star power.
I was playing Clone Hero and then all the buttons stopped working except the Green and Red ones. I tried to reinstall glove pie and the gh3.pie script and it still doesnt work??
When I tried to set the whammy keybind, it didn’t work. When I used the whammy bar, it moved the mouse back and forth, but didn’t set the keybind to “mouse horizontal”. Any help?

I already own a wii one and while it does work, having to constantly set it up after turning everything off is kind of annoying. Might just look into just getting a 360 one somewhere since I already have the 360 adapter and I assume all you have to do is set it up once and it just works every time you want to reconnect it.
What happens when glovepie just doesnt work? First of all, when i join personal network with the wii remote it just keeps blinking like you said it would but when i run glovepie it doesnt do anything and the light just keeps blinking then turns off and then when i check bluetooth to see if its there it isnt connected at the top in the *Mouse and Keyboards* section it is at the bottom paired in the other devices section :(

Carlish Smash make sure that you are not using the wii remote with wii motion plus, that will not work. also make sure that you have the newest bluetooth drivers on your computer. if that fails to work then maybe try new batteries or uninstall glove pie and reinstall.

when you open the gh3.pie file in glovepie does your wiimote light for player one turn on?? also make sure you are using a remote from Nintendo and that it does not have the wii motion plus built in. also make sure that your guitar is securely plugged into your remote.

you can not use a wii motion plus remote with this. i’m pretty sure i said that in the video. no worries. you can pick up a non wii motion plus equipped remote at your local game stop or online for less than $20. sorry i didn’t work

Sadly didn't work for me. I have the wiimote and the guitar hero 3 controller for years unused. I tried your steps, the wiimote is connected, but the frets or should i say the buttons won't work. The only control that is working is when i move my guitar upwards.
When I run the gh3.pie script it says: "12: [internal] Access violation at address 005A5D4D in module 'GlovePIE.exe' Read of address 00000000". I tried both GlovePIE.exe and the Bird one.

Thanks so much for doing this - I downloaded a pack and can get it to play, but the way the notes scroll doesn't match the sound. I've tried slowing down the track (the audio, the video, and also the note speed in the track setting?) and I can't get it to work. What happens is the notes cross the threshold faster than I'm hearing. I've tried delaying the audio and video as well, and that didn't work. Am I missing something? I was an expert guitar player on this game, so it's not for lack of skill - it's very frustrating that the notes are landing like an eighth of a beat before the downbeat how I hear it. This really is a great tutorial - it's a shame they stopped making these games because we NEED them! : )
there’s a download link to the gh3.pie file that is needed to run in glovepie. just download that and then open glovepie and run that code. i made this tutorial a few years back and i haven’t even been able to get my game running again even using my own tutorial. i think the best bet now is to buy a usb to wii remote adapter so it’s wired with little to no latency. also windows 11 messed up the personal area network and makes it more difficult. hopefully you can get it going.

i myself have had problems with the whammy function. sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn’t. not sure exactly why. sorry for the inconvenience.
Heeeey I do everything well like you but I do not have one led that lights up on the guitar but 3 and then the guitar does anything and gets stuck on certain keys and therefore impossible to play ... any solution?
I get the Remote to connect via bluetooth but whatever I do, the blue LEDs will not stay on - If I use the Wiimote with Dolphin it works perfectly fine, but GlovePie doesnt seem to connect
My Glovepie won't connect to my Wii controller anymore. When I add my Wii controller via bluetooth to my pc, I used to open up Glovepie, select the gh3 script file and I would be connected. But now every time I want to connect, my Wii controller keeps disappearing or my Glovepie won't connect to my wii controller. Any tips anyone?

This can happen when the controller's batteries are low. Make sure to replace them.

If your having issues with buttons not working try FREEPIE instead of GLOVEPIE. Solved my problem

What happens is the notes cross the threshold faster than I'm hearing. I've tried delaying the audio and video as well, and that didn't work. Am I missing something? I was an expert guitar player on this game, so it's not for lack of skill - it's very frustrating that the notes are landing like an eighth of a beat before the downbeat how I hear it. This really is a great tutorial - it's a shame they stopped making these games because we NEED them! : )
there’s a download link to the gh3.pie file that is needed to run in glovepie. just download that and then open glovepie and run that code. i made this tutorial a few years back and i haven’t even been able to get my game running again even using my own tutorial. i think the best bet now is to buy a usb to wii remote adapter so it’s wired with little to no latency. also windows 11 messed up the personal area network and makes it more difficult. hopefully you can get it going.
@@kylehenry6662 thanks! I actually got it working without the adapter, but even changing the audio and video delays didn't help. I was kind of annoyed by the whole thing so I don't know if I'll go back to it. : (

after I connect it, my pc just starts to bug, and when I manage to enter clone hero, it seems like it's being pressed some key all the time, is the problem my wii controller?

when i use the newer versions of ch (22.4 i think) the whammy wont come up as a mouse input
i myself have had problems with the whammy function. sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn’t. not sure exactly why. sorry for the inconvenience.

Heeeey I do everything well like you but I do not have one led that lights up on the guitar but 3 and then the guitar does anything and gets stuck on certain keys and therefore impossible to play ... any solution?
So I was trying to connect a second guitar with the same script and it won't work. Is there a way to have two Wii remote guitars on clone hero?

I get the Remote to connect via bluetooth but whatever I do, the blue LEDs will not stay on - If I use the Wiimote with Dolphin it works perfectly fine, but GlovePie doesnt seem to connect
So i did this and the whammy bar doesn't assign as a control ingame.
use wiitar thing it makes your wii controller into a joystick kinda and makes the whammy and tilt axis work

Its a driver for the wiitar kinda like glove pie. It makes your guitar count as a xbox 360 controller wich makes the controls better

My Glovepie won't connect to my Wii controller anymore. When I add my Wii controller via bluetooth to my pc, I used to open up Glovepie, select the gh3 script file and I would be connected. But now every time I want to connect, my Wii controller keeps disappearing or my Glovepie won't connect to my wii controller. Any tips anyone?
