Very fortunate to find out about minelab the cost and efficiency is beyond knowledge in fact I usually use my 340 cuz my lack of knowledge with the 540 makes me make mistakes with the settings
Hello Pete 👋 that's just the standard coil that comes with the machine, we use the Minelab 15 and coiltek 15 on the Equinox machines. Great machine is the vanquish 340 :-)
Thank you for the sub my friend unfortunately I'm not 100% sure how the vanquish will work in search for gold as this is somthing we don't have much of in England -)
thanks for the video, im completely new and will be ordering a 340 as my first metal detector! quick question, at 3:30 in the video how are you able to tell it's silver?
Good choice matey, in some of my newer videos you can see me fins a bronze age gold ring with the Vanquish:-) we know it was silver because you can see some small hallmarks on it plus most thimbles that colour were silver, turns out this was walking cain silver so it's a fairly common find :-) happy hunting and welcome to the greatest hobby ever
Your welcome and thank you matey, yes we had sensitivity up full and it was on the coin mode! :-) we have just been out with it today, love it, such a great machine.
Let me know what you thought of them. Some people have said they are as good as the nox. Another great video. I just killed my detector doing underwater detecting so I have to wait for it to be repaired but end of next week I am back in UK with my spare machine so will see if I can drown that one as well lol
Do you think there’s any point in spending 50 pounds more for the 440 over the 340? It comes with pinpoint, arm strap, but more interested in whether the sensitivity settings, more segments, relic mode and custom mode are worth it... what do you think?
In my opinion i would say if you can afford the extra £50 then it is worth it, the pinpointer function is always good to have if you are trying to locate in a trashy area I think the question you need to think about is are you they type of person that likes to custom your settings and paly about with it or are you the type of person that likes to just turn on and go. I would by the 440 over the 340 but i use my 340 as my back up and its more than capable machine.. Thank you for watching
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel Thank you for the answer, I bought the 440 for 50 more with a free bundled in handheld profind20 pinpointer as I see you guys are using your ones a lot to avoid destroying the soil plug. I really like your videos, especially the accents and humour! :-D Keep it up!
@@Kolvorok congratulations 👏 you will love your vanquish:-) yes a handheld pin pointer makes short work of locating the item. Thank you mate for watching:-) we appreciate your support
They are great, we have had some good 10 to 11 inch deep targets, I guess a lot depends on the ground conditions as well though but 100% great machine.
I'd always say get the best that you can afford but I would 100% say get the better pinpointer. So for me if it was a choice of 340 and pointer or 440 no pointer I'd definitely go 340 :-) have you seen our most resent 340 field test, I find some bronze age gold with it so its a very capable machine.
I’ve got the 340. I’ve never used a detector with a pin point feature. Should I have spent more and got the 440? Is the pin pointer feature worth it? Cheers
In my opinion you done need a pinpoint function, I have one on my nox 800 and I use it some times but if you go over the target in a cross direction you can pretty much pinpoint the location anyways.. i think the 340 is a beast of a machine! Thanks for watching :-)
I have one of these machibes but mine doesnt beep as fast as yours, there seems to be a delay in mine, what could be the issue? And because of the delay I always seem to ding in the wrong area.
Hey Oscar 👋 I've heard this before! I think it must be a dodgy machine, have you updated the software on the machine? If not then have a look back on our video and there is a video on how to update it:-) if that still.dont work I'd get it exchanged from the shop you bought it from.
I will buy it, too. After some weeks of checking and thinking which detector to pick... I think you are right, it seems like good machine with more than enough features :-) Thanks!
Fantastic machine is it heavy on batteries coz of multi frequency plus headphones running off them.guess rechargeable batteries good idea put it right.

thanks for the feedback guys. I was wanting to know how to use it and operate it efficiently . I just bought this same one from FB Marketplace yesterday from someone and I got it for 60bucks. and its almost like new
Hello Ed, I love the vanquish 340! 100% an amazing machine. Very simple to use yet very powerful, works amazing on beach and if you watch a few of my other videos with it you will see how deep it fonds some targets! Intact a few weeks back I posted a vanquish video and I find a bronze age gold ring with it.
I think its a great machine, taking it to the beach this weekend so fingers crossed its as good on the wet sand as it is on land. thanks for stopping by and watching:-)
100%, I have the Minelab Equinox 800 but i always keep the Vanquish 340 in the car as a back up, if you can stretch to the vanquish 440 then you will get more features but if you want a top machine for around the £230 mark then the Vanquish 340 is the one, it uses the same tech as the equinox with its mult frequncy and works a dream on the wet sands. The only down side is it is not waterproof (the coil is) so you will have to buy a cheap cover for the control box. Happy hunting matey
I'm sorry but I just got the 340 today, I used it for about 2 hours and decided it's crap! People say it looks like a blushing Ace, well the Aces work. This thing is a kids toy. Sturdy, yes, but everything else about it was a massive letdown, I expected more from Minelab. I also noticed 80% of the reviews are overseas, not in the USA. I'm returning it in the morning.
Hey matey thanks for the comment, I think you should give it a chance, although the 340 is very basic it does use Minelabs multi IQ tech thats used in the equinox 600 and 800 so will work a dream on wet sands and mineralised soils better than most, I do agree that the build quality could be better but I guess there has to be a line drawn or it would just become a cheap nox 600? Garrett are a well known and respected brand so if this is somthing you are familiar with then you may enjoy them better :-) 😀 happy hunting matey 😀
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel Nah, I've used many detectors, there was something fishy about it the moment I got to the park. Even on the lowest sensitivity everything was the deepest. I dug up like 20 to 30 plugs in 2 hours and even with a pinpointer I could only locate maybe 8 of the targets, the rest would just beep but could never find anything no matter how far down I went. It really annoyed me quick. And I'm sorry, but the new Simplex seems to have it's own problems as well. I'll stick with AT Pro for now. Sorry.
Its a difficult one really, untill you get used to the machine it can be hard to gauge if its just a big object thats deep or a small object thats not deep.. Dig them all till you are more confident :-) thank you for watching.
@@bree3718 it just takes time, I still get frustrated sometimes when I doe days without a good find an I feel like all im doing is digging rubbish hahaha 🙃
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel watching your video again looks like its alot faster signal processing than the go find 60 that I have, defo interested now. 👍
Hey matey, its not as deep as the Equinox but it does go pretty deep. When I'm out detecting with it I dont feel like I'm missing anything :-) thank you for watching 👀
Its amazing on wet and dry sand. The coil is waterproof but the control box is not so dont drop it in the sea :-) but works as good as the nox800 on wet sand
Sounds identical to a Garrett 250,all these detectors claim to be great when they 1st go on the market,i remember the hoopla about the Tesoro Cibola i had one and all i found was iron,i thing the older analog detectors find the old silver, the new ones not so much!
I guess a lot of the newer machines get a lot of hype and a lot of the older machines get there die hard followers but I cant really comment on the older machines as ive never actually used one.. the oldest I've got is the whites mx sport and thats a 2017 model lol thanks for watching matey, appreciate the comment 👍
Thanks matey, a few people have said this too and now I look at it it does make sense 😀 my excitement made me think it was a thimble at first lol doh thanks for watching
I guess they was stuck because if they had made it any better it might have put people off buying their Equinox range. Then again the build quality is not amazing on the Equinox either but like you said great technology.
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel I run a Explorer, awesome depth, but it's been structurely rebuilt, they are the ultimate in performance, cscope build quality minelab technology, that would be the greatest detector built!!
This product is bullshit, have two of them neither have worked properly from the jump. Did a test with 12 metal objects it would only detect one.....one. Was told to return them and purchase new ones. I'd stay away

Good morning matey:-) thanks for stopping by:-)
Can't remember ur last name so will do it on here u up for a collaboration sometime very soon
Ill message you on fb matey
Great machine as good as equinox in most situations IMHO
I think its a great machine, taking it to the beach this weekend so fingers crossed its as good on the wet sand as it is on land. thanks for stopping by and watching:-)
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel yeh nobrainer for the money, I have tried it on the beach, stable as feck, good luck!
:-)
Hi There Joan, great machine, nice hunt 👌 greetings 👋🇲🇽 and my like 👍 goes
Hey thank you guys! Thank you for watching:-)
Hi i'm looking into getting into metal detecting would you recommend this machine for a beginner?
Sorry.
We have used the AT pro great machine 👍
great video
Thank you matey. We really appreciate your support 👍
I just got a 340. What settings do you use for a field like that?
I always find having it on coin mode and adjusting the sensitivity works great.. great choice in detector:-)
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel Thank you!

Tanks for vídeo,show
Thank you for coming 😀😃

Thank you matey

:-) thanks for the support. Cya there
I've had a message of an Umpalumpa and he said can you give him his spade back lol.
Hahahahahaha matey I think its time I get somthing a little bigger :-) thanks for watching lol
Indeed hurts your back
👍 no aguardo 🤜⚡🤛👍
;-) thanks matey
Would this be any good for Gold for someone starting out
I would think so :-) I mean if its a small piece of gold then it would have to be in say within 8inch depth or so but it will definitely find gold
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel thanks there are a few old Gold Mines up Far North South Australia .
Good luck matey! 👍
Just got me a 440!
Congratulations matey, you going to love it :-)
Just got my 340 but i really don’t understand the depth part
Its a difficult one really, untill you get used to the machine it can be hard to gauge if its just a big object thats deep or a small object thats not deep.. Dig them all till you are more confident :-) thank you for watching.
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel thank you man yeah I’m new to this. But eventually I’ll get me a pro
@@bree3718 it just takes time, I still get frustrated sometimes when I doe days without a good find an I feel like all im doing is digging rubbish hahaha 🙃
Happy Days... to the next.
Thanks matey, cya in you lives soon mate, had a few early nights just lately so miss a lot of lives from over the pond
Sounds just like a go find 60/66 just in a different case oh and with multi frequency. 👍
My main detector is the equinox 800 and it sounds the same as that too so dead easy to get used to. Thanks for watching matey:-)
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel watching your video again looks like its alot faster signal processing than the go find 60 that I have, defo interested now. 👍
How deep das it go
Hey matey, its not as deep as the Equinox but it does go pretty deep. When I'm out detecting with it I dont feel like I'm missing anything :-) thank you for watching 👀
#FREETHEPINPOINTER
;-)
Is this one ok with saltwater on a beach?
Its amazing on wet and dry sand. The coil is waterproof but the control box is not so dont drop it in the sea :-) but works as good as the nox800 on wet sand
This is the beach test we did with it..

I see all people testing beach and field way no testing jangle
Cheers but we Don't have anything else but beach or field :-)
I gots to get me a vanquish 540
yeah i think its would be a hard decition to make if you was looking at a 540 or nox 600 for the money i mean.
From a cane top
I agree

Yo! :-) thanks for stopping by :-₩

Welcome! We appreciate you watching and being part of our adventures ;-)
I'd get a bit more excited to be pulling any coin from the 1700s out of the ground lol
🍀🐞😊👍
:-) 😀 😃 🙂 🙃
Sounds identical to a Garrett 250,all these detectors claim to be great when they 1st go on the market,i remember the hoopla about the Tesoro Cibola i had one and all i found was iron,i thing the older analog detectors find the old silver, the new ones not so much!
I guess a lot of the newer machines get a lot of hype and a lot of the older machines get there die hard followers but I cant really comment on the older machines as ive never actually used one.. the oldest I've got is the whites mx sport and thats a 2017 model lol thanks for watching matey, appreciate the comment 👍
I found the most amazing things around cellar holes with a cibola
The sliver would have been off a walking cane
Thanks matey, a few people have said this too and now I look at it it does make sense 😀 my excitement made me think it was a thimble at first lol doh thanks for watching
Giz a go 😶

Unfortunately same cheap plastics, the red detector turns pink as it ages. Great technology. Baaad construction.
Hey matey, sorry you have had a bad experience with it. We're not part of Minelab in anyway but we really do love the equinox and the vanquish range, what machine did you decide to go with in the end?
Hey guys is that 340 can detect gold nuggets? Im planning to buy it
Hey Bert 👋 here in the UK we don't really come across any gold nuggets but we have found a gold ring with it before:-) i do like that vanquish:-). Thanks for watching matey
