10:12 I meant to say "YESTERDAY Don't Mean Sh*t!" haha. I said it right on my Pantera video but messed up here. Thanks @williamcozart8158 for catching that.. ;)
There's this Pantera tribute band that sounds just like them. The singer and guitar player both sing and they both sound like Phil. Sound wasn't an issue because it was at *The House of Blues*. It sounded like being inside the speakers
if you haven't seen it yet, Dimebag's entire Randall clinic where he gives up every secret asked and unasked is on YT somewhere; if you find the video that's around an hour, that's the one. ;-)
MetallicA changed my life back in 1991, November 14th, at the Maple Leaf Gardens. When James walked out, and started the riff for Enter Sandman, the crowd of thousands erupted, and it was the craziest thing I'd ever seen. I thought to myself, THAT! That is what I wanna do! That moment made me decide to learn guitar, and I've since been on stage, and had the crowd go crazy from an opening riff, and it was everything I hoped it would be, and I can't get enough of it. James made me the musician I am today, and I'm forever grateful❤ MetallicA is the best!

They have been a massive part of my journey as an amputee. i have seen them 12 times on this tour so far (three times in GA, once on the rail and once in the snake pit). The shows have been absolutely amazing. The best part about it is the community you build, and the friends you make. Say hi to your leg for me. Be well...

In Warsaw they played Until It Sleeps. I was so surprised to hear it... Not only the album is not something people talk about, I've listened to this song like twice before the show.

I love too,how the Load-era songs resonate better over time with people, having their live airings over time giving new leases of life, and separating those songs from the album and any perceptions of the band from that time. Fuel, Outlaw Torn, Hero of the Day, etc. Classic, brooding melodic Iommi enfused heavy rock. The Load-era songs are amazing live, and I think 72S has songs that will set in better over time too.🤘👍
I was there! Bucket list concert for sure. I wasn't far from the rail on the south side of GA, just in front of where the main mosh pit was. I was about 20ft away from Tre Cool and what appeared to be the rest of Green Day on Day 1. Lars yeeted a drumstick at him and he somehow caught it. The sound was excellent because there were line array speakers pointing right at me. Only bad part about the experience was I got COVID from attending the concert for the first time ever. Shoulda worn a K95 mask.
hell yeah man i was there too. i was right above where the band came in and out right infront, eye level to James’s first mic if that makes sense. i couldn’t believe the little interactions i had with the band man, while i was there and thinkin back it still feels so surreal as James is a huge inspiration etc etc to me man.
My first concert ever was the Damaged Justice tour in 1989 when I was a freshman in high school. I OD'd on denim at that show. Queensrÿche was the opener and played all of Operation: Mindcrime. Great memory and I even had a bootleg of the show on cassette. Good times.
I was there! IT WAS CRAZY!!! I didn't study the setlists that got posted so I was pleasantly surprised by Moth Into Flame. And Ice Nine Kills was dope too.
Thanks for the great review Mike! I really enjoy your moment at the concert. Btw i'm from Malaysia and luv your channel. Keep up a great work brother!!!
I fell out with metallica from being a mega fan in the 80s to even dropping on them when the black album came out but you're video was interesting just to see what's going on with them these days.
I saw Metallica last year in Phoenix at State Farm Stadium. It was my 11th time seeing them. I go way back. First time I saw them was in 1983 at the Metro in Chicago. The last time I saw them was in 2021 at the Metro at the pop up show in Chicago before I moved out to the Phoenix Valley. Then I saw them last year in September. Lots of nostalgia and yeah that feeling of" well this may be the last time they tour..." Mammoth WVH was good. I hope they come back and play at a smaller place. The Pantera tribute was good. Again I saw the real deal in the 90's. It took me back. Metallica well they were fire that night. Great show.
I saw them once. "And Justice for All" tour, Thomas and Mack Center in L,V, , Faith No More opened for them As they were winding down, the lights were shutting down on stage until it was just the guitarist with one spot light on him , the rest of the stage was black, {they probably put up curtains). He played for several minutes with the volume getting lower. Then we hear another guitar join in (where is that coming from?) The two guitars are jamming together with the volume going up again and changing the style (still only one spotlight), then the spotlight is only on the new guitar player... Kirk Then the whole stage is lit up ( it had been changed to the "And Justice for All" stage) and then they continued to Kick Ass for 2 hours straight.
Had floor seats at their Night One show in Foxborough/Boston a couple weeks ago. First time I saw them after being a fan for almost 30 years. Absolutely incredible, they blew mind from start to finsih. Great great show!
Ive seen Metallica 10 times since 1996, and Im still "Chasing Ktulu". I LIVE to see that performed live some day. The 72S tour hasnt arrived, and peehaps wont make it to Ireland this time, but Ktulu's Call is THE sound and voice I want to experience live. Someday!!!
I was at Helsinki show and i still can't get over the fact that i saw them live, it was my first show. Definitely not last!!! Gonna go more. I was in the general admission second row. Loved how you explained that you try to capture the moment and at the same time feel it. I tried recording less, but somehow ended up filling my gallery full of Metallica. Thank you for this amazing video mate
12:30 even James doesn't like the yellow 😂 I saw them last year and he said it's nice to see everyone wearing the new merch, but "shame about the colour"
@@elijahloveell8809Oh dude you should it's soooo worth it! I was at both Minneapolis shows and it was my first time seeing them. I'll never forget it!
I was excited that they played Through The Never after Creeping for Night 1. I'm going to see them again tomorrow, and I'm excited to see what set list it'll be
This tour was a disaster for Metallica. Multiple audio engineers have reached out to Metallica about the bad sound quality. Hopefully they iron that out for next tour. Overall a bad sound design. Glad we met Vinnie and dime on December 7th. The lack of energy for Pantera now is painful to watch.
I took my son to this concert in soldier Field, the Weeknd prior to your show. We sat in the 400 section and this was by far the loudest concert I’ve ever been to. Those pillars really put outthe sound.
I also noticed when leaving the snake pit that the audio was a lot better. Also be glad you weren’t at the MA show, we went to the second night and it took 2hrs to get from the parking lot to the highway. We were guests of the artist so we didn’t have to pay for tickets, but if anyone is debating between GA and snake pit I would personally go GA or very low level seating, unless you don’t mind spending the extra money.
i was in the snake pit at the second Seattle show, and the sound was great for me (i was right in the center between drums 3 and 4). i also wear those earplugs that filter out certain frequencies but still makes things clear, so that could be why. i love that when you're up close you can actually hear the acoustics of the instruments, versus what being put out via the sound system. Rob's bass is powerful! i don't even think the sound was bad here, but personally thought the sound was better in the snake pit in Seattle than GA (i was in GA/rail for both Foxborough shows). i was on the ADA platform for the first Seattle show (i forgot my prosthetic, so i decided to go on the platform), and it sounded great as well. it was like being in a larger club, still pretty intimate. The first leg of M72 i had seats, and the sound was great for me as well. i think it's because of every show, i've been pretty close to the towers, so there was no sound bouncing at all for me. i have also been in the snake pit prior to M72, and i feel like the pit on this tour is a bit easier to get around (since it is significantly larger than past snake pits). People tend to be a lot more chill in the snake pit, versus GA... where people ARE generally nice as well, but don't really care if you're disabled, a child, etc. when it comes to getting those picks! Seeing Metallica every time is like one big family reunion. i've made some great friends in this community.
I know the stadium manager at Cardinals Stadium in AZ. Dude hooked me up with 4 free tickets and a parking pass. Thanks, Eric! I took my adult kids. My daughter used to sing Enter Sandman when she was about 4 years old. She went nuts when they started playing this. My first Metallica show was Master of Puppets tour when they opened for Ozzy and yes, I got to see the mighty Cliff Burton. Benefits of being an old metal-head. 😂
Now that the M72 tour has been and gone in Seattle I've finally been able settle in and watch your review. Really cool to see the view from inside the snake pit. One of the coolest things at night one here was seeing the Seattle Seahawks drum line, Blue Thunder, join Pantera on stage during Walk. It was super cool! Also, the giant balls were quite a surprise. Both nights were great, though I'm a little bummed we didn't hear Fade to Black. Anyway, great review, thank you!
Just in the middle of a 2-day show right now!! My funny thing is I didn’t know the shows were a day apart hahaha. We fookin travelled to get here and ended up having to stay another day. We totally missed Mammoth too!!! Saaaammme shit
I saw this tour last year in Dallas.. was awesome and we had GA Floor tickets and I loved it.. was so much room, special drinks (M7s Whiskey) We barely moved from the spot so we had no idea of the floor merch booth. I wanted to get to another show this summer but it didnt happen.
No way you were at this show! I went to this show as well. The show was f*cking amazing. Also was my birthday the first night, it was a great birthday present. Hope I can see them again!
I saw Metallica in Warsaw last month in July and had the exact same feeling whether or not I will see them again... Metallica is are so phenomenal and the magic they create is different
Love your videos. I saw them in Boston and our set list sounds almost identical to yours. I’ve seen them 4 times. First time in 92 black album and then again in 92 with gnr. Closing with MOP in Boston was badass too.
I was at the 2 day Foxborough, Mass shows. The sound was definitely awesome out on the floor. Was wondering how it was for the snake pitters. Amazing shows. I also hope it's not the last time I see them.
I was at their show in November 2023. We were sitting about a third the way up in the bowl, and could feel the heat from the pyro from a few hundred feet away
Was at that show as well in the pit it was a great time and a great show to see. you mentioned lars had at least 2 kits he actually had 4 kits around the stage. Also fun fact about the giant balls they had 9 beach balls hidden in each of the 8 towers for a total of 72 beach balls that fell each night.
Flown from UK to the Edmonton shows. Got 'emotional' during Pantera first nite, snakepit tonight! Seen metallica 20+ times, this tour they're the best they've been of the last few tours 🤘👍
Yea I’ve seen them in their prime, I’m 56 years old now and they still get me through my tough days. Also I play metal as well thanks to this band and I’ve been in two metal bands when I was younger, so many awesome crazy memories that I managed to survive through it! I played guitar and sang like one song in one band and played bass in a death metal band for about 2 months and that was cool! Next year my buddy and I will go to Tampa where the Bucs play and see them in hot ass June 6th show but I’m ready and willing! Thanks for your awesome video well done man! ☮️
It sounds like you had fun! I miss going to concerts. My last concert was 2008 Queensryche. But I have been to so many concerts since 1978 its not even funny. Ive got to see so many great bands or rock and metal. Great time to have been alive.
June of 1996 in a small town called Newport Tennessee I at the tender age of 13 years old saw Metallica, Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, and The Screaming Trees. It was my first concert. Ask me anything.
Charlie Benante uses triggers on his kit for Pantera (with some samples from Vinnie Paul's kit blended in). The sound up close in the pit is likely much different than what the rest of the audience is hearing.
It was awesome having the opportunity to be one of the drivers to be on this tour and haul production. The local news in Minneapolis did a video going over the logistics of this tour
I had GA for the Friday show in Chicago. I had read on a forum that depending on the stadium, that they would start and end on the north end of the stage…which they did. So i had the Frantic tickets, which got us in a half hour before the gates open. So we were guaranteed the rail. Wish i could post pics but it was definitely money well spent
I was there for the 2nd night only. I won seats in section 216 from a radio station, KJ108, in Grand Forks, ND. Then I registered to win Snake Pit or Meet and Greets on Metallica's website through the 5th Member fanclub. I won the Snake Pit passes too!!!! What an awesome show/experience! I actually saw myself for about 2 seconds when you were talking about 5 Fingers Ivan Moody. I took my 20yo daughter, it was her 2nd Metallica concert. We also hit up the Green Day show the night before...had I known Pantera was at 1st Ave. I would've probably went to that show, although I did catch the original Pantera lineup in 92 in Fargo. Anyway, great breakdown! I wish we couldve caught night 1.
Me and my son were at night 1 Minneapolis. It was a great experience. Especially since I grew up with Metallica, graduated 89, and now all these years later my son likes them too. I really appreciated how the band took the time in the end to express how thankful they were for us fans. It was a really good moment.
I saw them in Seattle, went to both nights. I wonder if the wave was somehow planned because it was exactly like your experience. Nothing the first night but a wave with all the lights the second night. Super interesting!
Great review! I was there both nights as well. 1st night in seats, 2nd night on the floor. The floor was so much better! I think I saw you after night two but we were walking so fast I didn’t get a chance to come say hi.
I like the idea of taking the wristband and pick and putting them in a frame with a picture. The last time I saw Iron Maiden live my wife caught a pick from Dave Murray and I caught Adrian Smith’s wristband and we did the exact same thing!
I was there with you! The first night, i was up in the stands, pretty good seats. I decided to go to the pop-up shop the next day, and my brother won the damn snake-pit tickets for night 2 (Wasn't even planning on going to night 2). Saw the green day concert on saturday, and then went to the damn snake pit. Oh, did i mention this was my first ever concert experience? Best weekend of my life, wish i could have met you!
I saw Metallica back in 96’/97’ and they played an acoustic set right in the middle of the show. One of the songs they played in that set was “The Four Horseman” which blew my mind. Listening to you talk about how long it took you to leave made me chuckle bc when I left that show it took over 3 1/2 hours just to leave the parking area and get on the road. It was totally worth it!
I was at this concert for both days and I loved your perspective on it. I wish I could’ve been in the pits around the floor. I was in the first seat in the seats. It was my first Metallica concert and I brought my granddaughter. I had a fucking rippedmelted weekend! I love your interview on this. It was so fun to watch.
I can't thank you enough for doing this. I am a Metallica fan since early 90's from Pakistan so its my dream to see at least one live concert but thanks to you I felt as I was there
Dang. You were definitely standing right next to me for some of these clips. Hit me up if you want more Metallica picks from that night-got a bunch! Intro to One was pretty epic too. Personal highlight was a high-5 from Lars.
Great experience. I just got home from seeing Def Leppard, Journey and Steve Miller at Oracle Park in SF. We had nosebleeds seats but it was still incredible. Next is creed in Sep1 then 5FDP with MM and Slaughter to prevail a few days later.
I had no idea you were my age. My first show was black album tour at spectrum in Philly. I was 14 I think and had been playing guitar for like a year. It was life changing. A year later I could play almost all their songs and about 40% of solos. No opening act. Transcendent.
thanks for sharing your experience... I saw them last year in my hometown and it was important for me to stay till the end, because I also don't know if I am ever going to see them live again.
Saw you a couple times, but too far away to say hello. I did snap a pic though in case I could post it here. I was in 2nd row right above where they walk to the the circle. Got some good pics of the bands coming out and heading back after.
I was on the second night on sunday in Helsinki. I'm in my teenage years so I haven't been to a Metallica show before so this was an amazing experience for me. The ending with Moth Into Flame, One and Enter Sandman was the best part. When I heard One starting I just felt so good. 🤘🔥
This Snakepit experience is awesome but opposite from mine. I sat in the Snakepit for 7 hours, leaving only once. Held my spot at the edge stage the whole time. James did the breakdown of puppets pretty much above me, lars high fived me, I got one of James' picks. Rob started his crowd surf right next to me. Awesome experience. (7 hours both nights, i felt it after)
Saw them 2x years ago in Rapid City SD. Back when we used to headbang. Remember in Cliff Em All when his dad said Cliff couldn't figure out why his neck hurt? Lol
I was there for Sunday night - a week before my brother and I decided out of the blue to take my nephew to see Metallica. I have seen them 8 times - first time was opening for Ozzy on the Puppets tour. We drove 7 hours from Kansas on Sunday and then 7 hours back on Monday. Loved every damn minute. Metallica is my band - forever and alway - and connecting with fellow fans was the best. 'Tallica forever. Thank you for giving us a touchstone.
I was in 300 level in Seattle and those seats were just fantastic, you really get to take in the entire stadium, so big and bad ass. Great sound. $55 tickets…

hell yeah man i was there too. i was right above where the band came in and out right infront, eye level to James’s first mic if that makes sense. i couldn’t believe the little interactions i had with the band man, while i was there and thinkin back it still feels so surreal as James is a huge inspiration etc etc to me man.
This was such a great story time, i enjoyed all the details, the highs and lows. Can't wait to see them live one day, thank you for sharing :D
Gonna be at both Seattle shows this weekend!
My first metallica show was last year . I waited for this my whole life. 2 great nights.
You did a fantastic job making us feel like we were right there with you, thank you so much for sharing this with us!
🤘😎🤘
Thanks for the great review Mike! I really enjoy your moment at the concert.
Btw i'm from Malaysia and luv your channel.
Keep up a great work brother!!!
I fell out with metallica from being a mega fan in the 80s to even dropping on them when the black album came out but you're video was interesting just to see what's going on with them these days.
Great recap! On my way to the second show of the weekend this evening in Edmonton!
"And Justice for All" tour, Thomas and Mack Center in L,V, ,
Faith No More opened for them
As they were winding down, the lights were shutting down on stage until it was just the guitarist with one spot light on him , the rest of the stage was black, {they probably put up curtains). He played for several minutes with the volume getting lower.
Then we hear another guitar join in (where is that coming from?)
The two guitars are jamming together with the volume going up again and changing the style (still only one spotlight), then the spotlight is only on the new guitar player... Kirk
Then the whole stage is lit up ( it had been changed to the "And Justice for All" stage) and then they continued to Kick Ass for 2 hours straight.
I was at the one in Seattle, it was incredible 🤘
I was fortunate to catch 2 shows on the M72 tour! Last yr in Los Angeles and recently in Seattle!
I’ve seen them 26 times, but when I was at download 2023 UK, I met a guy that had seen them over 100! I thought I’d been a lot. 🤘
Dude 26 times?? How? 😂😂
Somebody had a sign up in Minneapolis that said 100th show.
@@alextanguay5886I’m saying I haven’t even seen them once lol
@@elijahloveell8809Oh dude you should it's soooo worth it! I was at both Minneapolis shows and it was my first time seeing them. I'll never forget it!
I always look forward to these review videos! I dig your genuine enthusiasm for whatever you’re doing at the time. Enjoyed the vid as usual!
You have an amazing ability to really let us feel your experience - wow man!! Great video!! Loved every second of it 🙏🤘
Excellent! Great review!
I really appreciate how grounded and relatable this guy is. You can always tell he's being his authentic self.
I discovered metallica when I was in middle school (1986 ish). I've been a super fan every since
I took my son to this concert in soldier Field, the Weeknd prior to your show. We sat in the 400 section and this was by far the loudest concert I’ve ever been to. Those pillars really put outthe sound.
We just went to the shows in Chicago the week before. Drove up from NC. Such an amazing experience!
I was there and got a pick from you on the pit. We also noticed the sound in the pit being much quieter.
I was there for both nights, Friday was my first concert experience
Went to Foxborough and it was amazing!
That's so cool man! We were there too from Dallas. Loved the stadium
Night 2 when I saw them a few weeks ago, rob and Kirk played Sweet Caroline.
I saw both knights of the tour in Saint Louis about a year ago. It was as epic as you present it here. What a historic tour!
Oh awesome. I saw that news piece. Very impressive set up.
They played Blackened just like the album on the Justice Tour back in the day - so its possible to pull off live.
We need MORETALLICA
We need METALESSCA
Great review! I was there both nights as well. 1st night in seats, 2nd night on the floor. The floor was so much better! I think I saw you after night two but we were walking so fast I didn’t get a chance to come say hi.
Pre sale for No Repeat Weekend in Philly next may goes live for me in about an hour...hoping to get some decent tickets, never seen metallica before!
Was at both Minneapolis shows. We were right up against the stage and it was truly amazing.
Deadly review bro! I'm still pissed I never caught the second day. Oh well my favourite songs were on the first day. Plus Pantera
I am a Metallica fan since early 90's from Pakistan so its my dream to see at least one live concert but thanks to you I felt as I was there
I hope you get to see them one day. 🤘
This really was the most ‘felt like I was there’ concert review I’ve ever seen!
I went to both Chicago shows, they were AMAZING!
Dang. You were definitely standing right next to me for some of these clips. Hit me up if you want more Metallica picks from that night-got a bunch!
Intro to One was pretty epic too. Personal highlight was a high-5 from Lars.
I am going on sunday 25 in edmonton
Great experience. I just got home from seeing Def Leppard, Journey and Steve Miller at Oracle Park in SF. We had nosebleeds seats but it was still incredible. Next is creed in Sep1 then 5FDP with MM and Slaughter to prevail a few days later.
I had no idea you were my age. My first show was black album tour at spectrum in Philly. I was 14 I think and had been playing guitar for like a year. It was life changing. A year later I could play almost all their songs and about 40% of solos. No opening act. Transcendent.
What a fantastic review of an awesome concert. Thankyou.
thanks for sharing your experience...
After the Night 2 show, floor 4 of a parking ramp had a line that was so slow, I got home way after 12 am.
Black tour was incredible. Witnessed it in Miami, down from Chicago,
I’ll be at both Seattle shows this weekend! My 14th and 15th Metallica shows 🤘🤘🤘
SKOL from South Carolina. Great review my friend.
I was in 300 level in Seattle and those seats were just fantastic, you really get to take in the entire stadium, so big and bad ass. Great sound. $55 tickets…
