One of my favourite missions as a kid, it took me so many attempts to get past the flame tank, I was maybe 5 years old not realising I could use the air strike to blow it up, so I had 1 commando take aggro while I tried to blow it up with the other one... As you can imagine it took me forever
Can somebody please explain how the hell efficency and leadership work? I can complete the missions with zero casualties but have zero leadership and efficency.
I actually played through this mission recently. My god you utterly destroyed them. On the subject of using C4 on the temple of Nod. It's actually a good move in general. Anytime I tried to damage it with anything it just triggered a nuke and I didn't fancy losing half my base. If they have a nuclear weapon ready they always fire it if the temple comes under fire. The Commando is the only unit that can get it in one go without fear of triggering a nuclear strike since they don't get a chance to think about firing it :D
Them Laser Fences in the ending cutscene. But yea that RNG to see if you're commando gets fucked over by survivors of buildings is just savage. At least Tanya prevents that!
@@TheCNCChannel Definitely has been. Keep selling it during my casual play. Watching your vids I fear made me too efficient - went from taking 2 weeks to do the entire RA campaigns to doing both entirely in the same day. (Sov5 used to take me 90+ min, now took me 14)
@@Slothptimal There's this pleasurable feeling when selling that CY, when you see the money flowing in. I'm pretty sure there are other things that made you more efficient though, since on RA you get only 1250 (on TD the difference is much larger, 2500)
@@TheCNCChannel Biggest change for me was realizing base defense is not a priority - by the time you get attacked, you can have 15 tanks out, so barracks, war factory, single refinery is no longer my early game
this cheese aside, that 2k at the start from the church is op and how the hell are we meant to know about that. imagine doing this legit, let alone without that extra 2k

I am not sure that is the way Westwood developers expected you to play that mission. But it was certainly very brave.

He probably blew it up before it had time to charge, don't know if the tactic would still work a bit later on in the game
If you wait too long the AI builds an extra construction yard and obelisk at the temple area so it’s best to blow it up right at the start.

This is what's commonly known as "pooping on NOD's doorstep"... Strong similarities with Cloak and Dagger, eating up the enemy from within.
I think this is the only Covert Op I've managed to do on hard, thanks to your speedrun of the original game :)
