  • A stencil and a Gelli Plate can make magic together. The stencil is a place to start and then you can make it do even more with a cotton swab! I'm using Terri Stegmiller's Curvy Stems stencil stencilgirlproducts.com/stenci... from StencilGirl Products. You find the full post over at StencilGirl Talk at www.stencilgirltalk.com/2013/0...

had to stop at the 38 second mark and let you know i've been living under a rock! i just found these at my local store, and i did the same thing to the other person in the aisle when i squealed! i got such a look, and it didn't get any clearer when i tried to explain how excited i was to see so many colors and how excited i was to use them in my craft room. i shrugged and handed him my card and suggested he contact me for creative lessons!

Look in' at how you're going through those swabs, it's a good thing you bought 1,500 of them! I'm enjoying the heck out of your gelli plate parties, SO much! So, thank you, thank you, milady!

Purple is my favorite color, sooo at 1 time I had 7 of those qtip boxes. Oh, and 57 bars of soap. I'm much better now.

I'm just getting started with Gelli plate (actually I'm going to Blick tomorrow to buy one before my therapy session--too much information! Sorry!). I'm a failed graphic designer who has fallen head over heels in love with abstract/surrealist painting with acrylics and I also used to create some very weird things with collage, scanned into Photoshop and manipulated to be even weirder...anyway, I am LOVING your videos and you! You're hilarious and you're making me want to create cool stuff right this red-hot minute....waaah, no Gelli plate yet! Anyway, your dots you made with cotton swabs interested me because I've been able to make a cool texture in acrylic paints from just pressing my fingertips into the wet paint, pressing down hard and turning my fingertip slightly--it shows up as my fingerprint with these odd little hollow circles! I bet I could repeat that effect on a Gelli plate? Anyway, I just thought I'd throw that out there in case you wanted to experiment. Sorry I blab so much!

Happy to share. Love your simple, fun approach. I've done homemade gelli prints and it's so addicting!! Keep on keeping it real. I'm heading over to see if I can find your create flicks. question; am I looking on UA-cam or regular internet? I know I'll find it soon one way or the other.

So you have all that rolled acrylic paint ON the top of the gelli roll sheet? And if so, I guess you will be turning onto a paper, or set it on top I see.

Please consider plastic waste when you make your art. There are biodegradable quips available. We are destroying our ocean wildlife and clogging landfills with plastic. Thank you

this was my first thought when i started watching this video. Then, I looked at the date it had been made. Back in 2013, we were not thinking about plastic in the way we are now. I doubt Carolyn would promote a video such as this one now. Which suggests we are moving forward on this.
