Brilliant Carolyn - you think of the coolest things. I really had my aha moment when you mentioned address labels. We get those all the time and they just sit because we don't really have a use for them. So cool - thank you so much for this and I can't wait to see your page.
I LOVE the randomness of the jagged edges of the stickers without the backing!! I'm going down to the craft cave right now to look for all those not so useable stickers and transform them!! Thanks for sharing your creative ideas!
I just stumbled across a pin on Pinterest with your work and signed up to the newsletter and boy am I happy that I just happened to find you out there in the vast Pinterest universe! You had me at how to silence the inner critic! Mine is load! I’m talking the boombox loud that made my mum go crazy. But now It’s the inner critic and is she/it opinionated! Sometimes I put out my paints, brushes, markers, stencils etc and feel so inspired and can’t wait to get started. But as soon as I’m about to put my brush/pen/marker/what have you-she/it gets going- “are you sure you want to put that line there? I don’t know if that’s a good idea…. Oh don’t mind me, I’m gonna be quiet now…. *small cough* aren’t you supposed to…. Just don’t waste that paint/paper/etc you love so much by doing something that you’ll regret. No but seriously, I’m going to be quiet now…. I was thinking….. You know that picture/video/clip you saw earlier? Isn’t that a bit out of your league? I mean, I loooooooove that you’re giving it a go but…. “ and so it continues until I gather my supplies looking down on my paper/fabric/whatever technique I was about to try out feeling like a complete failure. So when I saw your post and UA-cam videos etc. I felt like “Oh! Someone else has a similar critic as I do and She has overcome it or has at least a strategy to quiet her/it down! Because let’s be honest-having that bubbling feeling of creativity and happiness when you get an idea is the best. But that inner critic is a b****‼️ Yes I said it! Because it paralyzes you/me and makes you/me feel like why bother? I’m s*** anyway so why try?! So I’m looking so much forward to learn how to shut that inner critic up(or at least turn down her sound down) and get going! And maybe it won’t be the best thing/idea/work I’ve ever done. But I sure like to try! So thank You @Carolyn Dube for trying to help us/me to make that inner critic at least turn the volume down ♥️🙏🏼
Sticker sheets work, too. You can cut, die cut, or punch shapes out of them. You can even use the parts that were between the stickers. Another use for removable stickers is to use them as a mask.
I hear you. I regret getting rid of my collection of papers I loved and collected over the years. I just couldn’t figure out how to use them. If only I’d kept them. lol
I love this idea. Thanks for sharing! I like using the gel plate on all those free address labels I get in the mail from various charities. (more than I could ever use)
What a phenomenal way to use up all these stickers I have bought... ones that I would NEVER use, but came in packages with other papers bought from the thrift stores. VERY COOL! Thank you KINDLY! 🙂
Great inspiration Carolyn! I have a whole bunch of old round address labels that I've been saving but had no real idea what to do with them and this is perfect! Love your colors too -- I tend to be much more muted but I'm going to try your palette too❤
Such a helpful video, thanks for that ! I even recognize some old sticker sheets I have. I'm going to test it right away to reduce my stock and finally use them. Spring is coming, it's time to clean up 😆
This is superb. I too have a mountain of stickers that don’t suit who I am today. Do you think you could do something with die cut ephemera? I’ve got a drawer full of that too. Oh. Ribbon would work too. No reason we can’t print on that. I have used old stickers to just randomly attach to a background on an art journal page or a canvas. If they’ve lost all their stickiness I just use gel medium. Fabulous idea 💡 🌟
Thanks for mentioning address labels: I have tons of those that I can use; I forget to use them for mailing plus I do so little mailing and it seems every charitable organization sends those to get me to reciprocate with a donation.
Terrific ideas here Carolyn. But I have one big, but basic question...If the paint isn't really sticking to the shiny stickers, can you gesso them first, and would that help the paint adhere any better? Maybe you said, and I just missed it. Thank you.
Great idea, thank you for sharing! Now to find my box of stickers lol. Oh and on the plasticy shiny ones that the paint doesn't stick to as good, could you paint over it with clear gesso first?

Oh, and I didn't even think of the preprinted ones that come in the mail- that's BRILLIANT! Now I'm going to get excited next time I get them!
I just love watching you create, and I get so inspired by it. I love how these turned out, and I'm anxious to see how you use them in an art journal!
Thanks so much for your kind words- so happy that you enjoy the play!
Reuse, reinvent. I love it.
Same
Carolyn, Ive always loved how you work, just so organic and off the cuff! Not to mention, your colors are always OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Thank you.

Such a great idea for using old stickers. I can’t wait to try.
What a great idea! And I think I may have some vintage scrapbook stickers tucked away that need some personalising.😉
How perfect that you've got those stickers for some personalizing!
I have SO many unused stickers! This is exciting!
Love this idea to “upcycle” old supplies.
Glad you found it helpful!
What a great idea Carolyn. I've got a drawer full of stickers. Can't wait to try this. Thank you

Ohhhhhh! Thank you as always for a great “new” idea!

Love this 💖 and the idea of the address labels, I have LOTS of those 😀 looking forward to that art page.
Thanks Carolyn 💖
I hear you. I regret getting rid of my collection of papers I loved and collected over the years. I just couldn’t figure out how to use them. If only I’d kept them. lol
I LOVE this idea! I have a binder of old scrapbook stickers. Now I know how to use them. Thank you for sharing.
A binder full - oh the fun you can have with those stickers!
This is a very great idea- love it, will definitely do it with my old cm stickers, that I am not using any more. 😍😍😍 greetings from 🇩🇪

Great great great idea! I love it. I will look at ugly stickers in a new light now. 😂 Thanks for the video. ❤
I love this idea. Thanks for sharing! I like using the gel plate on all those free address labels I get in the mail from various charities. (more than I could ever use)
Awesome! Sounds like you have lots of fun printing on those free labels!
What a phenomenal way to use up all these stickers I have bought... ones that I would NEVER use, but came in packages with other papers bought from the thrift stores. VERY COOL! Thank you KINDLY! 🙂
You are so right-there's always some in the multipacks that just never get used! This would be great for those!

What a FABULOUS idea! I never would have thought of doing this. Thank you!!!
What a great idea!!!!! Thank you!

Thank you!
Love it.
I found some rub off decals at Dollar Tree with numbers or words on em. Guess what I've been doing with some of those prints I make?!?
Thumbs up from me, what a great idea. Love your stickers.👍👍👍
Thanks! Appreciate the thumbs up!
Love everything about this. Amazing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
What an enormous improvement!!! They came out so beautiful that they might just have been elevated to hoard-status!😂🙄
It was such a lightbulb moment for me when I realized all I needed to do was add paint them and then I'd use them lol!
What a great idea 😊
How clever. I have a few of thise unwanted stickers. Lol😊

Fantastic idea for a background!

Love this so much❣️
Cool idea! ❤
fantastic!
That was a cool idea I know I have stickers just need to find them lol
I just put 3 packs of stickers in the donation box. I think I going to pull them out and try this.
Terrific ideas here Carolyn. But I have one big, but basic question...If the paint isn't really sticking to the shiny stickers, can you gesso them first, and would that help the paint adhere any better? Maybe you said, and I just missed it. Thank you.
❤
I love printing on stickers. Are you concerned that the adhesive won’t be as permanent as applying a medium or glue to attach it to your substrate?
I guess in most of the cases you kept the stickers for the sticker shape since your paint was mostly opaque and covered the sticker diagram
Fun
Thanks!
Great idea, thank you for sharing! Now to find my box of stickers lol. Oh and on the plasticy shiny ones that the paint doesn't stick to as good, could you paint over it with clear gesso first?
Absolutely! That would definitely help it take the paint better!
Oh nooooo, I gave all my stickers away to an op shop! 😭
Seems you have the same issue I do, as soon as I donate something away, I come across an idea for them!
@@CarolynDubeI have to downsize as we're selling up so there's going to be a lot of that happening and a lot of tears 😭
