Before starting this exercise for obesity I need ur suggestion ----can I do this exercise as I had bck pain due to sciatic nerve two yrs bck so I avoid risking any work that affects adversely. does this exercise would affect in any way or exaggerate the pain again . But if practicing for an hour is difficult then divide the session into two, may be half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening. This practice can also be done. Hello Chandrakala Srinath, I kniow how difficult it is to practice yoga for an hour when we have small babies around. So its better to divide the sessions.In the morning she can practice Suryanamaskara with varidation ua-cam.com/video/Pa6K3dziEtY/v-deo.html and in the evening the tummy exercise ua-cam.com/video/YZ3CsklaJw8/v-deo.html. If she finds some more free time then may be yoga for new moms too. If she does these practices everyday she can easily reduce her tummy. Regarding food restrictions or diet regime, I do not want her to follow any strict diet if she is breast feeding as it can affect the baby. Hi Shalini, have your stitches healed? For ladies who have undergone C section I usually suggest to start tummy exercises after 6 months. As the cut open your muscles, it takes a while to heal so to be safer start tummy exercise after 6 months.

Regarding your doubt on whether to start these tummy exercise for weight reduction, I would say "No". Its better to avoid these tummy exercises as most of them put pressure on your lower back. So there are chances that it might trigger or aggrevate your sciatic pain.

Its always good to do the exercise at a stretch. But if practicing for an hour is difficult then divide the session into two, may be half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening. This practice can also be done.

I kniow how difficult it is to practice yoga for an hour when we have small babies around. So its better to divide the sessions.In the morning she can practice Suryanamaskara with varidation ua-cam.com/video/Pa6K3dziEtY/v-deo.html and in the evening the tummy exercise ua-cam.com/video/YZ3CsklaJw8/v-deo.html. If she finds some more free time then may be yoga for new moms too.
If she does these practices everyday she can easily reduce her tummy. Regarding food restrictions or diet regime, I do not want her to follow any strict diet if she is breast feeding as it can affect the baby. Let her be mindful about the amount of rice she eats during her meals.

You are able to perform Surya Namaskar with Variations for better results (ua-cam.com/video/Pa6K3dziEtY/v-deo.html). It is good to practice yoga in the morning however, it can be practiced in the evenings as well. You should always practice 2-3 hours after any meal.

Hi Shalini, have your stitches healed? For ladies who have undergone C section I usually suggest to start tummy exercises after 6 months. As the cut open your muscles, it takes a while to heal so to be safer start tummy exercise after 6 months.
