My wife's aunt lives in this town. We really enjoy visit there. Some very nice cafe's just outside of town and delicious local restaurants by the river mouth.
So…I’m playing catch up today…the boat is a great idea…I mean just Brent and Lori…and you still have to consider dunnage and fuel costs and maintenance etc…but it’s all worth it when you are anchored out in the bay, kicking back…sabai, sabai…it doesn’t get much better than that…imho…thanks Chuck. 😊
Hello Paige and Chuck. It's been a while since I've dropped a line. I particularly liked this trip. And I liked that you mixed in a little Thai music in with your soundtrack. Anyway keep up the good work guys. Your videos help me get through to my next visit every year.
my curmudgeon moment, the Manatee Cousin, the Danong, is the one over there Chuck/ no worries just about the same same anyway. **I might not even spelled that correctly/ my bad. Keep Having Fun Chuck and Paige.
That’s something I would like todo I often spend t day fishing 🎣 &the only thing I caught was myself and I went home the good thing about fishing it will still there the next day to try again 😊😊
Hey Chuck! Both my wife and I are subs of yours for quite some time (her for 4 or 5 years!) and neither of us have ever been "automatically unsubscribed" from your channel or any other channel for that matter on UA-cam. So it must not happen very often! Please drink a Sing for me since I'm not in Thailand right now!! Enjoy!!
Unfortunately it does happen and it happened to me on this channel and several others over time. Happy you are lucky in this regard and hope it never changes for you as it is frustrating? Paiges face was priceless on the boat idea. Bushyboy Oz.
Lots of activities everywhere and interesting places in Thailand. We love Thailand .Thanks both take us seeing the unseen part...so amazing local communities. It's real life.❤❤❤😊😊
Hiya. Chuck and Paige. You love peaceful places and respectful people. That is not too much to ask. Good Times. Good vibes. Good times with Mitch and Dao. In our lovely park, it is shocking the amount of dog pooh. Dog walkers leave. But most dogs in Thailand are strays, so understandable poop parcels. 555. Still would make me gag. 555. Happy Thursday. Still gutted I missed your live video. I hope you do another soon.
Exactly like Vietnam. Some (not all) don't care about anything but their mission. They do not understand how to queue in a line. It's particularly bad with certain age groups. I know what you are going through.
I don't know what the current rules are, but I have a friend with a nice boat moored up in Ocean Marina in Jomtien, and he said foreigners are not allowed to pilot boats. He had to have a Thai on board whenever we went out, even though once out of the marina he'd usually take control. It may well have changed now, that was the case previously. Looking forwards to your video on Samet, as I may go myself soon. Problem is the better half only has Sat/Sun off, and it'll be packed at the weekends. She works in Sattahip near KM10, so we can possibly go Friday evening and back Sunday evening, ready for work Monday morning. If not, we'll just stay in Rayong.
@@notime2bsad Is she a licensed marine pilot? Maybe nationality is enough, but it's quite a large boat. I don't have any idea of the licensing for all the speedboats and longtails... I expect a lot are on the shady side, but just sharing what I was told. My friend used the term "captain", but suggested he needed to be officially licensed. Just saying.
@@notime2bsad It could well be, but as I say, it was just a requirement some time ago. If it's no longer a necessity, or Paige's nationality is indeed enough, the privacy, peace & quiet, and freedom would be awesome. 🙂 I can imagine boating from Sattahip to Samet, then on to Koh Chang, and ending up at Koh Kood. Wonderful! But I think the licensing thing was due to both job protectionism, and also because of a large number of marine conservation and restricted military areas.
I went to Koh Samet some years ago. The only problem I had was that it was difficult to find anywhere to exchange money. No banks or ATM's. I only found one place a little shop that changed currency but at a ridiculous rate. Loved it in Koh Samet. I think it's a place where Thai's go for holidays as there wasn't many farangs. Have a great adventure.
Great video Chuck and Paige. Still watching after 3-4 years! Yeah, I’m annoyed by “unaware” people cutting in lines too. It seems to be getting better in Thailand. Also very annoying is when the vendors or sellers cooperate by trying to help 3-4 customers at the same time regardless of who came first. Small annoyances though all things considered 😂👍🏽✅
If some people budge in line it's okay if it's that important to them. Just like driving people budge cut you off it just is what it is. Waiting an extra 5-10 minutes don't matter. 😊
That was a cool place you stayed at. Koh Samet is where I took my wife when we first met. Flights to other islands were booked and to be honest, I was a little lazy and we just flew to BKK and got my friend who is a taxi driver and he took us to the dock. We had a great time on Samet. A lot of Chinese tourists and a few Russians, and we had a blast. There are a lot of little resturants on the beach. We took a speed boat FYI, so much better than a ferry. They take you right to your hotel on the beach, you just gotta be ready to get your feet wet. Our hotel had a show on the beach that we enjoyed while having dinner the first night. We laughed because theres a 7-11 across the street from each other on that little street.....
Hi Chuck & Paige great Video , i ❤️ Love Thailand ! I' m in Cambodia since 5 days, It is very nice but i miss Thai herbs - the cambodian foo😢d isn' t my fav. People here are very friendly like in Thailand...I am happy to be back in Feb.😊 Best wishes to you. ✌️❣️
Hey Chuck and Paige and Mitch and Daw(?), what a great video. I love it when you go to anything to do with water. I liked your idea about owning a boat but understand Paiges not wanting to do it.I did think about it when I first came to Thailand but didn't have the money at the time. Yeah, I'm protecting my 6-pack too. Never heard it put that way but will use it from now on. Lol
Yes, one reason I love fishing. is the quiet of the Morning or very late evening. I was just going to say that some burgers at 7-11 fo remind me of my High school cafeteria. But some other items are really good. Maybe in the future Paige and You could rent a Houseboat and see how you like it.
i think I'd rather have it busy then covid shut down again, nice to see things back to normal, besides if your staying with the locals in the hotels or motels that they are staying in , well it comes with the happy Thai family noise.
5555 doesn't look like you have Paige "nearly" convinced on the boat idea to me, a bit more time maybe 55. looks like a great area to visit will have to put it on the list😊 Love seeing the less touristy area's there the places I like to visit and see the real Thailand🙏
Eric Johnson? You gotts borrow a walkman. Just jump in a time machine. EJ is ridiculous and has influenced many artists. Cristopher Cross and him are friends. CC is a great guitarist as well FYI. Crazy find. I almost feel like it was a set up.
I often defend life in Pattaya, but I have to agree I get annoyed with mostly foreigners who are not courteous. Overall the Thai people are, and even when they fall short of my expectations, it doesn't bother me as it's their country and I'm a guest.
i think there is a certain demographic of tourists who are generally very loud and discourteous, I will not name them 😉. My favourite ice-cream in Thailand is coconut. Haha Mitch.."That's the fastest bike in town."
GLAD YOU MENTIONED IT: I thought I was a subscriber. I was, but then I checked today and I AM NOT!!! So, I've subscribed again. Slap the hand of whoever at UA-cam cancelled me.
HAHA. My brother walks across his field and shoots one, sometimes with a bow then carries it home and butchers it himself, could be eating it that night... He was complaining that after he got over covid, he could barley carry a buck he shot back himself...lol (south carolina)
My wife lived in Ryong and taught in an international school there. She learned to hate Pattaya during that time because when she'd be on a bus coming from her parents house nearing pattaya people would think she was a working girl.. She's not very judgemental, but hated that.

actually i want to see the non tourist places to stay...the whole beach and island thing gets real ugly real fast...not sure but seems difficult to get away from the Tourist mob these days.
The look on Page's face while considering the boat purchase... priceless! 😆😉

Great video 📹 the old fishing 🎣 boats are great to look at ,safe travels
Yes, I like looking at them too, kind of like elephants, I like looking at them but would not like to own one.
Thanks for another good video Chuck! Room and food both looked great! Cheers brother!

Good morning! chuck and paige.
Morning!
Paige telling place names so nice of her.... always happy n smiling 👍👍👍🍻
What a great project, fixing up a boat, fishing and island hopping. I’d love it.

Good morning, Thursday . Thanks for sharing your trip. Morning to Mitch and Dow also.

Chuck, you want me boat, mention Paige’s very own Leo bar, that should swing it 555
Pork burger with cheese from 7 is one of my favorite goto’s when in Thailand. Classic.

Looking good guys 😊 enjoy! Stay cool 😎 kind and generous!
I spent 6 years in Japan. Then moved to Thailand, I can't take the crowds anymore so we live in Koh Samui.
Non-Courtious is what I don't like either
Its so pretty there love the waterfront rooms very nice. Seems nice and relaxing. ❤
Exactly like Vietnam. Some (not all) don't care about anything but their mission. They do not understand how to queue in a line. It's particularly bad with certain age groups. I know what you are going through.
That is my favorite breakfast rice soup with lots of red chili pepper in it!!! edit: Paige said nope. NO BOAT FOR YOU !
Nice video. Great info.
Thanks!

Hi all. Public spaces pianos (UK-China fiasco) these days is a sensitive issue if you get what I mean . 😂😂😂
Have a great trip 👍

Yes, I was first there 20-years ago and no access to cash, but I am going back for a few days over Valentine’s Day, and there are ATMs throughout now.
Thank you. Great to know for when I go back next time. Have a great day.@@alanharrison694
Always nice to visit fishing villages ✌🏽
The contrast to pattaya is incredible, these places are beautiful, interesting and relaxing.
I believe Chuck your wife gave you a resounding NO to the boat ! Like she did with the motorbike tour hahaha 😢
