One thing has been bugging me for years now: Why isn't that classical sounding solo at 3:19 (with the harpsichord layered underneath) in the song on the album? Makes the song 100x more amazing!!!
I've been listening to this song (as well as the whole Solitarily album) for a long time, and just discovered this. Essentially, my mind has been blown!!! I'll chime in to everyone's comments that you, Ron, are a genius.
Been following his stuff for a long time now. I love that he's always exploring various aspects of music, music theory and the creativity of it is always inspiring. Good to see someone else so clearly on the spectrum exploring his special interest.
Can't imagine anyone else coming up with such a great idea AND making it work. Ron, you're the coolest guy in the whole wide world. When I grow up I want to be just like you. Ha ha...how's it going buddy? I love the song/music.
Phukking Brilliant!!!! :-) So Freakin Creative! Loved the Spastic Ink stuff and Blotted science stuff too! very metal Jazzy and sometimes frank zappa-esque and stevie vai-ish. Gotta Love it!
Your creativity is absolutely mind blowing. Much respect to you sir, and im very much looking forward to the next Blotted Science album (hopefully soon!!!)
Very cool stuff, using the staff to essentially create a new musical language! Reminds me a little of Howard Roberts, Don Mock et al and sonic shapes, where you spell out words on guitar by imagining you are writing out the shapes of letters on the fretboard.
All this stuff you're doing is very reminiscent of what goes on in contemporary composition in conservatories around the world. Did you do that on purpose or just a coincidence? Great minds think alike!
Is this your official channel Ron? If so, I wanted to tell you that you are such a huge inspiration for me; I like you because you are THAT kind of guy you know? those guys that are a tad bit smarter and crazier than everyone else and take advantage of these qualities to put sounds together to help you understand reality. Thank you for this awesome video.
Ron dude, like what?! xD How did you even come up with the idea for a scheme to fit the alphabet across two staves? Your name sounds haunting and dreamy at the same time, that's awesome!
I just tried this and surprisingly got a something really tonal apart from and aug4th in the second bar. Really fun to mess about with and ill be damned if i'm not going to play about with everyone's name that I know and other words.
Ron Jarzombek I cannot wait for the new Blotted Science! You are a true master! BTW, I bought "In The Name Of Ron" off your website. I want to support music as much as I can and I hope more people will do the same. :)
Ron Jarzombek I can't wait personally, also, Ron i have always wondered if you own or have played any 8 string guitar yet? Also whats your opinion on the whole 8 and 9 string scene, more specifically, from a tonality standpoint, or even practicality. Either way just keep making music, you truly are the limit in my mind, i have respect and admire many of today's guitarist. But you are on a whole new level, i hope to get to your level one day, but listening to you now is like being able to see in the future, as far as just how good and technical i could ever get.
Songs in the.key of R.J. haha excellent ! Thanks for the anthropomorphism Ron ( : Brain is still a thumpin with the implications- think ima going to try it out now with hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. SMILE. It's a Zappa thang ;p Huge thx for the share & awesome music, always. X
Hi Ron, Fascinating stuff and your creativity is very much appreciated. Is there a certain software you can recommend to apply what you've done for this video to input notes, or is this something you've done specifically for your video?
Ron, at the beginning of your video, you started the first two lines in C Major. Then you moved Line 3 to G Major and then Line 4 to A Major. But on your video, at 4:58, you moved Line 4 to E Major. How come? I did see where you switched half of Line 3 from G Major to E Major, but you continued on through the first half of Line 4 in E Major, then switched it to A Major. So I am a little puzzled...
At the B7 (the last chord of line 3), we're in E Major. Line 4 continues in E Major, but the second measure of line 4 is in the key of A Major. If you have any more questions email me at ron@ronjarzombek.com. Thanks...
Ron Jarzombek This reminds me of my application of synesthesia to music. Different, but still systematic. I'm very glad your innovation and creativity were added to this world.
When you said "let's move the letters down 1", 1 what exactly? How did you end up with the F#? There's no key signature... Then with "down 2", there were more sharps...
Sir I have no clue or intuitive information that you would actually reply back to my request....but kindly break it down ,step by stage, how would you compose a metal riff out of say an E minor chord. What would u use for Intro Verse Bridge Chorus Bridge Outro..... Thanx in advance....
Ron i heard a lot of music from johan Sébastien bach into marcus miler i played a lot of deathmetal music, i want say that you are a kind of phenomena a genius top in the stars, something only god can understand !
You're like a mad scientist of music!
FromTheNorth That's what I think when I see him in the picture of Solitarily Speaking.

I might make a DIY mashup of this version if ron never ends up releasing it
A true master. Big fan since '87
You are an absolute genius! I really need to learn theory to start thinking of obscure things like this. Thanks for being such an inspiration!
I love the added classical sounding melody at 3:20. Can't stop replaying it. Same thing for Dimented and several others parts of the album.

JUST TO SAY: GENIOUS.
All this stuff you're doing is very reminiscent of what goes on in contemporary composition in conservatories around the world. Did you do that on purpose or just a coincidence? Great minds think alike!
When i heard that melody i was instantly surprised that that is where the meoldy came from. Genius!

Would love to see a new blotted science album, or something like it.
We're scheduled to record Blotted Science III in December. Looking forward to it... :-)
Ron Jarzombek Nice!

every time i see ur videos... i cry.... im just toooooooooo was bad :( i wish i could play like u do...
Dear Mr. Jarzombek, you're fuckin awesome, and so is Alex Webster and Hannes Grossman.
My name is in C Major
lmao :D
What? :D lol
Just in case you really aren't sure what is so funny. Everybody's name is in C Major there is no key signature on the staff.
Ventryx
But that‘s the point, there‘s no key signature to begin with, so no letter has an accidential.
Thought of something similar once, but it sounded like shit lol this actually sounds good,
nice classical vibe
You know, you need a name as cool as Ron has. Maybe was that, we'll keep trying ahaha (:
lol true JARZOMBEK is pretty all over the place alphabetically
Hi Ron, Fascinating stuff and your creativity is very much appreciated. Is there a certain software you can recommend to apply what you've done for this video to input notes, or is this something you've done specifically for your video?
Come in Moscow Ron! We love you!!!
insane!
Sonzera!
3:18 wawza, so pretty!
Ron, your name sounds so beautitul hahaha.
Too bad that new Watchtower didn't work out. Still, I'm happy that you're still continuing Blotted Science.
this is pretty cool lol ; you made music theory fun

Thank you so much for showing me. I greatly appreciate your explanation and help. :)
Ron Jarzombek This reminds me of my application of synesthesia to music. Different, but still systematic. I'm very glad your innovation and creativity were added to this world.
Ron, do you (or have you ever) given online guitar/music theory lessons? I would love to learn from you.
When you said "let's move the letters down 1", 1 what exactly? How did you end up with the F#? There's no key signature... Then with "down 2", there were more sharps...
It reminds me straight up of Björk's Drawing Restraint 9 soundtrack. I think the song was called Bath. Check it, and the film out. It's good shit.
how did you determine the armonic circle to work over that notes?
How do you get the accidentals after moving the notes? Surely moving the notes is just going to shift all the notes evenly
oh man,
very googd
You really found Gsus !
It's hilarious that this actually sounded good considering the way he made it.
How did you harmonize this and do you give lessons via skype or some other form? I would love to take lessons from you!
Sir I have no clue or intuitive information that you would actually reply back to my request....but kindly break it down ,step by stage, how would you compose a metal riff out of say an E minor chord.
What would u use for
Intro
Verse
Bridge
Chorus
Bridge
Outro.....
Thanx in advance....
OMG !
Sounds a little like Fripp's Crafty Guitarist stuff......You should turn this into an app or java script for the internet.....
Your wish has been fulfilled. Ron just put out an app for iOS and Android XD
So is this an isolated lesson or a glimpse of the instructional dvd's you've been working on?
why are the harmonies not in the original song?
+Ron Jarzombek
What kind of software is he using for this?
Ron i heard a lot of music from johan Sébastien bach into marcus miler i played a lot of deathmetal music, i want say that you are a kind of phenomena a genius top in the stars, something only god can understand !
What is G#o7 ?
Marcos De Ros brought me here and i'll stay. TOP.
