I shared it on Reddit and it went through the roof. I since considered Latenna (and Lobo) as my favorite Elden Ring characters. How could Zullie do something like that :o

"odd invisible NPC's that are used for weird technical things" reminds me of that story about how the train in Fallout 3 was actually just an NPC wearing a train hat. I wonder if Elden Ring has humorous examples like that.
Yeah, many games do those tricks with invisible NPCs as triggers and stuff. Like World of Warcraft is full of invisible trigger bunnies. Like in case you got to use item without clicking or targeting something clickable for example, there is actually invisible bunny your item kills and that counts towards objective. So they don't need to script bunch of new stuff for just few out of thousands of quests and stuff, instead they basically simplify it and send you on bunny killing crusade... :-D Also they can be used for timing, like you you summon something and instead of timer, it gets assigned bunny that is taking damage over time and when its health reaches zero, it does whatever it is supposed to trigger. Of course they are always invisible and you just see what you are supposed to. And that train thing also was just because Behesda never implemented any vehicle mechanic into the game and since it wasn't worth the time for that one event, they made this hacky workaround. Also I think in Skyrim, few times you talk to the object it actually has hidden NPC behind it, which is what you actually talk to but since it is hidden, it looks like you are talking to statue or whatever. Bethesda really did a lot of hacky stuff to fix shortcomings of their antique engine, which is basically just derivative of old Morrowind engine, Gamebryo Engine, just it got renamed to Creation Engine to sound newer, after it got upgraded.
You can use WFD to get to areas you're not supposed and in one case you can find Hoarah Loux chilling beneath the boss arena. The reason I've been told he's there is because it is easier to move him up to the fight at the transition rather than spawn in a new NPC.
The Fallout 3 train isnt actually equipped to a separate NPC, its force equipped to the player and the view gets locked to first person so you see inside the train.

Its not really related to the point of the video, but it’s really nice to actually see some of these models like the three fingers and Marika outside of their cutscenes, the three fingers is especially interesting because it gives the chance to much more easily tell which fingers of the five they actually have. Which is surprising to me actually, since it looks like they had fingers actually cut off as opposed to the two fingers who just naturally only have the two and the palm segment that comes with those
Definitely, also in this light the three fingers look more like they're missing the middle finger and pinky rather than missing the middle two fingers. The more I compare the two fingers and three fingers the more I think they weren't meant to use opposite fingers.

Phillia's corpse moving is probably because it still has wall/floor collisions and the wall shoved the model's feet up when the model's position actually changed rather than just the animation. While the animation is playing the model is upright and it's only after the game registers the full death that the model is lying down.
I love the contrast between the music and Zullie being their usual informative self and the murdering spree they’re going on throughout the lands between.
I know this is an older video, but the fact that Melina basically uses the minor erdtree healing spell found in the DLC is actually amazing notice to detail
Zullie saying "suprise! Lobo isn't actually dead!" Before immediately pummeling him 40 feet into a wall might be one of the funniest things that's ever happened on this channel
The two fingers death reminded me of spider legs curling up at death. Also gave me claymation vibes like, missing frames. Also, they died in a similar pose we find all the other dead two fingers, aside from Ranni’s.
So, for a quick example, when Radahn starts his meteor attack he centers his position on the player's location and begins reentry in the direction the player is looking. If the player is standing in certain locations and looking certain directions, this process would lead Radahn to appear inside the cliff next to his arena. In order to prevent that, if Radahn would be placed inside the cliff, there's an invisible player model character Radahn can center his position on instead.

Have you considered making a video about how Mohg's Tres, Duo, Unus and Nihil works? I keep wondering if this move has a hitbox or is more like just "add this effect to the player wherever they are". I've seen a video of a person in coop who got Nihiled on the elevator to Mohg's arena
I haven't gotten to him (nowhere near that point, lol), but from what I've seen in vids of others fighting him, I'm guessing it's more like a status effect added rather than a hitbox. I don't think I saw anyone dodge it at all. Or if it has a hitbox, then it applies to the whole arena so the player gets caught in it no matter what. I'm not sure which is easier/better to program in though. I say that, but I know that the Nightmare Veil attack from Mergo's Wet Nurse in Bloodborne is actually an AoE attack that can be dodged. Luke over on OutsideXtra dodged that attack and killed her without ever seeing that Nightmare Veil attack. He thought the game glitched or something because the fight didn't go how he thought it would with multiple phases. I only saw it when I've seen others fight her. I think the window for dodging the hitbox is extremely small though so most people can't dodge it or don't bother with it. It could be that Mohg's Tres, Duo, Unus could be dodged, but I bet they wanted to make sure players couldn't dodge it. I do know that anyone using Azure Comet absolutely wrecks him and the player who did it didn't even bother to heal up because Mohg was dead by the time he said Unus. I'm not using magic in my current run, but it sounds like that spell needs to be nerfed.
It’s so interesting to see kind of how these amazing games are put together; who does and doesn’t count as an npc, “who” is an “object”, how they trick us with what they want us to see yet still include these little details in the data. Very cool, love your videos ☺️
I actually spent like 5 minutes trying to kill Selen by casting the 3 magic swords and rolling into her. When she died, she respawned with the same ball shape but different faces which I assume is the generic model. Was sad

You can still kill her if you finish her questline but don't give her the dark moon ring at the end.
@@KratosisGod _Ranni stans start raising their pitchforks again_
@@zyriantel9601 I have no idea why so many like her in every single conversation she comes off as pompous and selfish, the gods in fromsoft games are massive assholes.
@@KratosisGod Even then she doesn't die, she's just incredibly sad that her faith in you was broken.
I believe a quick trip to the Church of Vows brings her back.
"He isn't technically dead, at least until now"
**Destroys Wolf**
That was brutaly funny ngl, even tho i feel bad
Seeing Melina tried to heal us before she die broke my heart
the two fingers death animation was awesome, great work :D
"he isn't technically dead, *or at least he wasn't before now* "
Actually living up to the subscription - I can't get enough of these videos
3:18 I think this is actually a dlc armour you could get! I dont know where its at or what it is called, but I remember seeing in videos listing the armours from the dlc!
Phillia's corpse moving is probably because it still has wall/floor collisions and the wall shoved the model's feet up when the model's position actually changed rather than just the animation. While the animation is playing the model is upright and it's only after the game registers the full death that the model is lying down.
Roundtable Hold but you are the Dung Eater.
dope channel based off a dope outfit from a dope game doing dope stuff with dope music in another dope video game
Zullie: "Today we're killing every NPC in the game"
*Proceeds to play the most calming music as the bloodbath ensues"
I love the contrast between the music and Zullie being their usual informative self and the murdering spree they’re going on throughout the lands between.
I know this is an older video, but the fact that Melina basically uses the minor erdtree healing spell found in the DLC is actually amazing notice to detail
100% confirms she’s marika’s daughter btw
Nice, as always. Looking forward to seeing your other videos soon!
Zullie saying "suprise! Lobo isn't actually dead!" Before immediately pummeling him 40 feet into a wall might be one of the funniest things that's ever happened on this channel
Word is this guy still has a bounty in every skyrim stronghold.
The two fingers death reminded me of spider legs curling up at death. Also gave me claymation vibes like, missing frames. Also, they died in a similar pose we find all the other dead two fingers, aside from Ranni’s.
The Two Fingers' death animation is fucking TERRIFYING! Imagine if we encountered that if we were allowed to use our own Fingerslayer blade...
Oh, it seems that unused arnor set worn by the coliseum ghost is now obtainable in the DLC as the Highland Warrior set
0:21 Roderika ragdolling was the perfect start to my day
"Lobo isn't technically dead, or at least he wasn't before now"
proceeds to yeet the dog 30 feet, great video as always
You put a lot of indepth of effort, research and experimentation into all your videos; thank you 👍
Honestly really interested in these invisible NPCs used for "technical things"
100% this
So, for a quick example, when Radahn starts his meteor attack he centers his position on the player's location and begins reentry in the direction the player is looking. If the player is standing in certain locations and looking certain directions, this process would lead Radahn to appear inside the cliff next to his arena. In order to prevent that, if Radahn would be placed inside the cliff, there's an invisible player model character Radahn can center his position on instead.
Fair, I assume sites of grace also have their own invisible NPC to allow the player to interact with as well, and all the other stuff?
3:07 Everybody wanted the deathbed smalls, but I want this freaking kilt.
(Also, thanks for the bit about the Twin Maiden Husks. I was about to leave a comment on one of your videos asking if they had any animations. I thought they were going to turn out like Bloodborne's chapel dweller with unused attack animations. They seem like such a unique model for a merchant npc that doesn't even speak!)
if you're on PC you can just cheat engine it into your game
I’m sure you’re happy now.
Just a reminder I was looking through telescope in snow lands and a goat from like 2 in-game miles away followed me from an outdoor puzzle and knocked me to my death. It was the greatest thing ever lol he was on an unending quest for revenge no matter what
the 'unused' armour of the ghost at 3:04 is actually obtainable in the DLC, its called the gloried set and you can get it at the Rauh ruins base near the runebears.
Rennala's death pose seem to be transitioning smoothly into the beginning of the phase 2 cutscene.
I should say, though, I'm interested about the "odd invisible NPCs that are used for weird technical things" 5:08...
I dont know why, but there's something very satisfying in that sniping sequence at the start
interesting to see how the unused armor set was obtainable in the new dlc
I don't even play these games, and yet I watch your videos because they're so well done.
I love how comforting this video feels even though its about death
My god! Is that the mighty Orbulon the Opal at 4:01 ?!?!! Wait... tis merely a pretender
I doubt this pretender even has very many POWERFUL SORCERIES.
The "at least before now" got me good.
Thanks for the video!
I have a feeling we're probably gonna kill a two fingers in a future dlc, should one happen
This is the most brilliant and powerful thumbnail ever created.
Not master Hewg :(
It’s so interesting to see kind of how these amazing games are put together; who does and doesn’t count as an npc, “who” is an “object”, how they trick us with what they want us to see yet still include these little details in the data. Very cool, love your videos ☺️
Imagine you could use the finger slaying knife to kill your 2 fingers instead of giving it to ranni and it unlocked a diferent ending
2:55 I'M NOT EVEN CRYING RIGHT NOW! SHUT UP!!!!
you're crying . . . .
Same bro, same :(
TT
1:59 Isn't this Alexander's animation after being defeated in Farum Azula for his quest?
Kinda yeah but he pops open after that animation and the great jar didn't
@@Edgydreamerr He pops open after you finish his dialogue, if you don't talk to him he'll not explode.
@@EdgydreamerrBut yeah, the Great Jar didn't pop open.

the unobtainable armor set from that one ghost is in the game now lol
I actually spent like 5 minutes trying to kill Selen by casting the 3 magic swords and rolling into her. When she died, she respawned with the same ball shape but different faces which I assume is the generic model.
Was sad
Clever though 👏

...I don't know how to feel right now
watching you kill hewg is the most painful thing i've ever experienced tbh
I like how the ghost go from groveling and begging to stancing up like you shoulder-checked them at Walmart
Honestly, the fact that the Two Fingers have a death animation implies that at some point, we as a player could kill them.
Hahaha the part where you say Lobo wasn't dead... until now. That had me cracking up 🤣🤣🤣
This video was both informative and incredibly sad.
4:19 the light inside is broken, but she still works
