  • The Nikon COOLPIX P1000 ultrazoom camera can digitally zoom in to a jaw dropping 12,000mm focal length (35mm equivalent) which is a 600X magnification of its minimum 24mm focal length. But how does it look? We'll put the P1000 to the test when we zoom in to buildings in downtown Phoenix, AZ from 6.5 miles (10.5 km) away!
    You can read more about this photo shoot in the article on my website here: 1lens2.com/art...

    I find that using the zoom on the Nikon P1000 to be rather addicting. Awesome video!!

(I agree, the NIKKOR glass in the P1000 produces truly amazing results!)

      For sure, all that NIKKOR ED glass inside can be a bit pricey. The Nikon P950 is a little less expensive and zooms up to 2000mm. Maybe consider a used or refurbished camera to bring the price down some more? In any case, I hope that a super zoom camera is in your future!

    Did you try zooming into an airplane flying 33-40k feet high?
    Also can you change the lens or attach extra lens to it to get even more detailed pictures?

    • @OneLensTwo
      @OneLensTwo  Рік тому +1

      Hi! My next video will include a zoom in on a commercial jet at cruising altitude. The P1000 is an all-in-one camera, so you cannot change lenses or add tele/converters. You can add filters like UV, ND and polarizer filters to the lens.

    on a clear sunny day I struggle with atmospheric distortion even with my 600mm eq Tamron lens. Rarely is the air cool enough and not overly smoggy to get pinsharp result at these focal lengths...

    • @OneLensTwo
      @OneLensTwo  2 роки тому +3

      I agree, Radio Żelaza. It's hard to get a clear picture across significant distances with any camera equipment. I'm trying to setup a photo shoot on the moon which has virtually no atmosphere! No luck so far :)

      Katılıyorum, 3000 mm'de keskin bir resim elde etmek kolay değil. Sağlam bir tripod kullanıyorum, rüzgarlı gecelerden kaçınıyorum ve 10 saniyelik deklanşör zamanlayıcısını veya telefonunuz için ücretsiz Nikon SnapBridge uygulaması gibi bir uzaktan deklanşör tetiğini kullanıyorum. Ayrıca, birden çok fotoğraf çekin çünkü görüntü netliği aynı ayarlarla değişebilir.
      ENGLISH: Agreed, it's not easy to get a sharp picture at 3000mm. I use a solid tripod, avoid windy nights and use the 10 second shutter timer or a remote shutter trigger like the free Nikon SnapBridge app for your phone. Also, take multiple pictures because image sharpness can vary with the same settings.

      Çoğunlukla Nikon'un ML-L7 Bluetooth uzaktan kumandasını kullanıyorum. Ayrıca, sabit yakınlaştırma videoları elde etmeye yardımcı olan yakınlaştırma ve uzaklaştırma gibi başka şeyler de yapabilir. Uzun zamandır kablolu deklanşör tetiği kullanmadığım için bu konuda yardımcı olamam. Umarım uzaktan kumanda size daha keskin resimler konusunda yardımcı olur!
      ENGLISH: I mostly use Nikon's ML-L7 Bluetooth remote control. It can also do other things like zoom in and out which helps to get stable zooming videos. I’ve not used a wired shutter trigger in a long time so I can't help there. I hope that the remote helps you with sharper pictures!
