  • Super Zoom Test Time! On this episode of the Nikon P1000 super zoom variety pack, we'll get super close to a Starling bird, a walking bridge at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, the August 2023 Super Moon, actress Kate Mulgrew on stage, an oil rig platform, a bottle of red fruit punch at the top of the Roosevelt Lake bridge (wait, what?), far away cars on a dirt track, a deer, hikers at the top of a huge rock formation, and the sharp needles of a "jumping" cholla cactus. These superzoom tests really show off what the P1000 can do! Includes the P1000's maximum optical focal length of 3000mm and it's maximum digital zoom to 12,000mm. The Nikon COOLPIX P1000 is the best super zoom camera ever!
    Thanks for watching!

    It's not a camera, it's a binocular with an extra recording feature😆

      Exactly! :) I actually used my binoculars all the time before I bought my Nikon P900 and then my P1000.

    I have owned this camera for a year. I appreciate the effort you put into making this camera look so good. Its lack of digital stabilaization is why I never use mine.

      Thanks for the feedback! I know what you mean about stabilization. Even when Vibration Reduction is available (for still photos and FHD/1080p videos), you can sometimes still get shaky results. The massive 3000mm zoom is a monster to control! I use my heavy duty tripod all the time and I sometimes apply digital stabilization in post-production. Especially with UHD/4K videos because VR is not available. I think encasing the camera in concrete would also help :)

    Hands down, the "RAW+FF dictators" out there can't reach 12,000mm 😂

    If this camera will no longer be manufactured, what camera would you recommend as an alternative?

      Nikon is still selling the P950, which can zoom up to 2000mm (35mm equivalent) and is smaller and lighter than the P1000. But the question is will Nikon come out with a new version of the P1000?

    Is this camera suitable for sports photography?

    • @OneLensTwo

      I've used the P1000 for basic outdoor sports photography and it worked fine for a point-and-shoot camera. I should note that it is a large camera . The P1000 is a maniacal zoom machine, so it excels when the sports action is far enough away that other cameras cannot frame the shot that you want.

    we can zoom very long but there is no clarity . how much distance can we focus with nikon coolpix 1000?
    here 9th video you shoot a deer with focus and clarity but what is the distance? please reply me

      @OneLensTwo  4 місяці тому +3

      Hello! The lack of sharpness when photographing at a distance mostly depends on how much atmosphere we're looking through, how much particulate matter is suspended in it and how many heat waves are moving through it. These will all affect and/or distort the light moving through the atmosphere on it's way to the camera's lens. That applies to the P1000 and other high telephoto lenses. Good question though. Maybe I'll do a test of the same subject from different distances to provide some example answers to your question.

    Red Mercury !?

      Perhaps! :) I like to think that it's filled with red fruit juice. But alas, it's probably just red color glass, which is kinda boring :)

    Proof its flat

    • @dpackman
      @dpackman 3 місяці тому +2

      Yes! There is tons of proof earth is a flat plane except for mountains and valleys. There are laser test ect.. that prove so. Type in on YT, "Canada Laser Test Proves the Earth is Flat"

      @stonesymmetry what a knee-jerk comment! He said nothing about the size of the earth. More people see the truth here than not. It is Flat__________
