Yes. Indians have been using coconut oil on hair forever. I prefer to use natural oils, the ones like ogx contain silicones. You can use natural oils every day on hair and scalp and the best way to rinse it is to put conditioner on it for 10 min then wash it as normal and it will leave hair nice and soft 😊
I just message it in about a half hour before shampooing, then add some to the last few inches before blow drying. Comes out very nicely and with few tangles.
I love to coconut oil my hair the night before a shampoo. I have long curly hair like Aidan Turner and I only shampoo my hair once a week and the coconut oil definitely makes it feel a lot better. Honestly, for curly hair on days I don't feel like using hair product, I will rinse my hair with coconut water and it makes my hair feel really good and smell like the beach. I don't know how coconut water is for people with straight hair, but for curly hair it really is something that can help tighten the curls a bit more and it adds to the number of the days I can go without a shampoo due to the lack of adding hair product to the hair.
I used to wash my hair everyday. However, since I live in Southern California, we did have a bad drought, thus had to reduce my shampooing. I had been losing hair as well as density/thickness shampooing everyday. I started to notice shampooing less some of my hair started growing back again. I also have been using coconut oil in my hair, great stuff- definitely.
I had a dry scalp and coconut oil does work for dry scalp . I use the coconut oil. So I first heat I up in the microwave I massage it onto my scalp leave u foe 30 mins. Then I apply shampoo to my scalp then rinse. Oil coconut is quite hard to get out of your hair. So make sure to rinse your hair until the water appears clean
You should castor oil atleast twice in a week adding vitamin e capsules in the castor oil and in coconut traditional Indians use fenugreek seeds and curry leaves and its benefits are quite good and if you have any dandruff wash your head with turmeric powder and lemon juice and there are lot of tips that I know it from my grandmother and she has learnt all those tips from her ancestors and her was still thick and black before her death.

This is indeed true. When I was a child, my mother always massaged my hair with coconut oil. Its cheaper and easy to find in my country and yes my hair is become thicker. My only complaints is the smell.
It's an absolute relief hearing from you, in my situation, that i can just go to the grocery store and purchase coconut oil used for cooking on my hair as a possibly cheap and effective solution to my hair breakage
May sound silly but i've been on a ketogenic diet for the past 2 years and have seen a substantial increase in hair-growth all over my body- A non-primary part of Keto is getting in your MCT's (But more objectively, to get a good mix of other fatty acid profiles) so its quite interesting to correlate a change in diet to hair-health with the research i've been doing over the past few days.
I have a few questions because I really want good results: How long should I wait to wash my hair after I put the oil in before my shower? After I shower, should I dry my hair first and then apply the oil again or should I put the oil in when it’s still wet? And how long should I leave the oil in after I wash my hair and put it in? And what is the proper way to wash the oil out?
Its been a year, but if its your first time trying it start with pre wash use only, leave 30 minutes or overnight. You can wash it out using conditioner, and the do the normal washing hair routine. Once you get the hang of it get to post-wash use! Look closely and over time to how your hair reacts ^^
What you want to use is 100% pure virgin coconut oil. It’s found in the cooking oil aisle and not a “hair brand” as in this video. The OGX is not pure oil. The first three ingredients are silicones! It’s mainly used as a finishing product, and also needs harsh sulfates to remove from hair.
I've used coconut I'll for years. The night before I wash it I message coconut oil in my hair and leave it over night. My hair is thick and healthy and has remained that way since I've stared dying it. I am interested to know benefits of olive oil.
*There are many oils that can be used to promote healthy and thick hair.* *Argan oil* _is rich in vitamin E, which promotes a balanced scalp environment for great locks!_ *Olive oil* _has loads of antioxidants like Vitamin E too so it's perfect if you want more protection from split ends._
I have to sleep in an extremely hot room in Florida and wake up with sweaty hair--just a mess! Brushing it with even a detangler brush meant losing hair until I tried the coconut oil approach. I understand perspiration can damage and dry your hair because of the salt content. What I do now is use a bit of the oil, concentrate it more toward the ends, anx comb it through before retiring. The next day, I get up, sweaty as always, but my hair is easier to manage with few snags and tangle. I'm glad I caught this video!
I'm 62 y/o man growing my hair out. My hair is thick, course, wavy, and curly. Also tends to be dry. I shampoo every 2-3 days and don't use conditioner. I really don't want all the chemicals in most products. Any recommendations for which oils? Love your channel.
My hair is already so thick, I’ve had people say it would be the perfect hair for a girl. Idk what would happen if I tried this and it made my hair even more thick and ridiculously silky than it is

idk why I feel like oils like coconut oil dry my hair out and make them frizzy. Every time I do some kind of oil treatment my hairdresser says I have dry hair which PISSES ME OFF cuz thats not the case. I love organ oil as I learned from you, it works as a sealant and it penetrates, so I love the shine and strength it gives my hair.
Thanks, great information! I like to use coconut oil before swimming in a chlorinated pool. It does wonders to protect my hair from drying out from that harsh chlorine. My shower filter also filters out chlorine, what a difference! I have used it even before my hair was long.
Great video back to see it again, once you apply cocunut oil then you leave it for a bit then you apply shampo and conditioner is OK after you dry your hair to use argan oil
I have waist length, natural silver hair. Coconut oil is the only product I use (outside shampoo and conditioner.) My frickin’ hair is *GLORIOUS.* I use it post wash, pre comb, and I very seldom use heat at all. My question is in regards to my (lack of) pigment. I’ve seen stylists describe white and silver hair as hollow tubes, due to the absence of pigment. What is the coconut oil actually doing for my hair? When I do use heat, am I deep frying it? Like I said, my hair is fantastic, but I’m willing to make it even better. Thoughts?
my anxiety and stress has been so bad this year, picking my scabs on my scalp, smoking, putting it up all the time, putting on hats more recently, it’s so messed up and i feel like it’s more damaged than ever, the year before this i also used heat everyday at 300° with no heat protection, i just hope coconut oil, aloe vera, and some neem leaves capsules work well, i’ve found a homemade oil but i need to get actual neem leaves and curry leaves for that
Would refined or unrefined oil be better? I presume the studies were conducted with pure, refined oil to reduce the number of factors, but I guess unrefined oil with all the extra vitamins and minerals would be better? Also, it smells nice.
of course if you test it against sunflower oil and petroleum, coconut would definetely win. that's not a comprehensive research that would provide a solid fact.

Thank Your passing that knowledge onto Me. But, I have a question. Should I massage it in for a period of time? Should I let it go onto the follicles only, or should I also go onto the scalp?
Coconut oil is a life changer. Although a little goes a long way if heated properly. I have 4 aunts including my mom. Growing up I saw my oldest aunt regularly applying coconut oil. Today about 15 YRS later.. She is the only one with no graying hair.. All 3 other aunts have some graying.
maaannnnn your hair looks so good, you were the inspiration for me to grow my hair brother, now that I have got long hairs, I wanna start a youtube channel just as you did brother so I'll be uploading videos on my channel as well. Thanks for the inspiration brother. Love from india.

How, when to apply coconut oil to get wet look med short (4in) hair to stay down without summer humidity sweat causing several strands to frizz out and/or all of it to fluff/poof out? A. I want the thinner wet hair rugged wabi sabi look like when you shake it just out of the shower (before it dries and poofs out) B. Or on other days, occasionally combing slicking back flat like Gatsby hairstyle C. No hair spray, so lady can rub fingers thru my hair

I use coconut oil just to style my hair and I use coconut oil just oil my scalp but I be in doubt because sometimes I am not always sure if my hair is really growing because I use it all the time
I just finished growing out my hair and some hair strands have been falling out when I shower so I’m trying to find a way for all my hair to stay on my head
Count how many hairs you see falling on your hand when you shower. 5-15 is totally normal (not in one handful lmao, the entire shower should total to 5-15) if it's more then you have a hair loss problem
Thank you for this video. I started using argon oil, but it didn't seem to be enough to detangle following a hair wash day. I tried the coconut oil you recommended yesterday and I'm still getting tangles, but they are more manageable than prior to the coconut oil. Thanks, Trav!
Does coconut oil hair spray work? It's a leave in product and pretty high quality, and I've been using it for a while usually after I detangle my hair. Just wanna confirm if this works.
Have you tried marula oil? It has amazing benefits for the hair, like repairing and deep conditioning. I use it often with jojoba oil. I would recommend hallelujah hair oil. 100% natural blend of beneficial oils. Bottle lasts forever too.
So, from watching this, I've damaged my beard by; Bleaching it, towel drying too much and I guess being too rough with Viking beard beads, forcing them on and probably doing more damage when removing them due to the directional position of the Cuticle cells 😒 My Turkish barber was adamant for me to leave my beard alone for a year, he said no cutting, just let it grow. It's down to 6" long now after a tidy trim 😒 Damaged head hair due to Bleaching and also rough towel drying and probably tying it too tight. Back and sides are shaved to the skin with ponytail at the back. My head hair is super fine so, how would I know if I have or don't have Medulla. It's thin/fine and very lightweight and whispy :( I'm no adonis 😁 but I want to achieve the Viking style look, need my head hair thicker 😢

Okay but why does coconut oil always instantly turn rancid when I put it in my hair? I've tried a bunch of different (food) products over a bunch of years, and it has always happened. And I love the stuff for other things, I'd really like to use it for this.
Love your videos Trav White. My hair type is almost nearly identical to yours. A lot of what you do for your hair works for mine. Hey, I watched this a while back. (Don't remember my question being covered) I got myself some Rosemary and the Coconut oil. And I was wonder for how long you'd say it's a good idea to leave it in. I swim quite a lot. So I was thinking -> coming home taking a shower to get the pool water out. And then massaging in the oils and leaving it in over night. Too long? Or should that be fine? Thoughts?
Very informative video! I use coconut, argan, castor, almond and jojoba oils for my hair. Castor oil is great for strengthening your eyelashes as well!
What about starch water?... I've given my daughter the pasta water to use as a "shampoo" occasionally & her hair seemed to be so much fuller & more volume.
Is it not better to apply the oil the night before showering (just before bed time)? That way you allow your hair to properly absorb the oil? (You can use a silk nightcap to protect your pillow.)

That OGX oil is definitely one of the best products I’ve ever used as far as beating frizz but I don’t use it as a masque, for that I recommend real, pure coconut oil, heated up. The OGX is a silicone based product that does also contain coconut oil. The silicone does not penetrate.

Hy I love what you say and I say to you thank you
You know I am a woman with curly hair and before the intranet I was about to lose it I didn't know how to deal with it at all know I love my hair and I learn how to help it grow and be as best as it can
To say the
Being a woman that doesn't mean that I am a pro in caring for hair
And in the end thank you and god bless 💖 💖 💖 💖
This is indeed true. When I was a child, my mother always massaged my hair with coconut oil. Its cheaper and easy to find in my country and yes my hair is become thicker. My only complaints is the smell.
It's an absolute relief hearing from you, in my situation, that i can just go to the grocery store and purchase coconut oil used for cooking on my hair as a possibly cheap and effective solution to my hair breakage
I only use coconut oil on my hair it is really good it makes hair soft and shiny.
Did u regain any lost hair?
@@fatalearlobepeircer2326 I hadn't lost any so no idea
I have a few questions because I really want good results:
How long should I wait to wash my hair after I put the oil in before my shower?
After I shower, should I dry my hair first and then apply the oil again or should I put the oil in when it’s still wet?
And how long should I leave the oil in after I wash my hair and put it in?
And what is the proper way to wash the oil out?
Then listen again and carefully
*There are many oils that can be used to promote healthy and thick hair.*
*Argan oil* _is rich in vitamin E, which promotes a balanced scalp environment for great locks!_
*Olive oil* _has loads of antioxidants like Vitamin E too so it's perfect if you want more protection from split ends._
Idk what would happen if I tried this and it made my hair even more thick and ridiculously silky than it is
bAD iDEAS' REVIEWS lmao it’s not
Does it help grow it faster or nay?
@@nok4799 havent actually tried it yet. Hair has been growing really well. Its past shoulder length rn.
@@airbolt6496 oh that's cool! Unfortunately I cut my hair back in August, it was past shoulder length too which is why I'm growing it out again- if you ever want to cut your hair short again, make sure you are prepared for some slight shock ☠️
@@nok4799 ikrr it’s always so shocking. Probably never cutting it too short tbh.
Thank you for the info I actually asked my wife who had NO CLUE what or how to use coconut oil. Greatly appreciated!!
idk why I feel like oils like coconut oil dry my hair out and make them frizzy.
You saved me, bro. I have long hair but it breaks a lot and I use to wash it everyday. Now I feel protected I it also save my time in the shower
Great video back to see it again, once you apply cocunut oil then you leave it for a bit then you apply shampo and conditioner is OK after you dry your hair to use argan oil
Castor and Olive oil are even better, they have the same properties and promote blood circulation.
Finna grow my lacrosse hair back out wayyy better than before now. I'm tryna come out of quarentine looking like a gym leader.
i like that he doesn’t just tell you to use it,he also gives prof that it works.
Thank you for this . I like your presentation . I use coconut oil with licorice extract on my gums and my dogs gums . I started this because of my dog . It really helped his gums and breath . I have long curly hair like Robert Plant so this is very cool .
Thank you for this real informative video, I use coconut oil for my hair but I realise after watching your video that I was doing it wrong. But now, thanx to you, I will. Oh & coconut oil is really good for dry skin & excellent for keeping your heels soft. I'm definitely a new subscriber & can't wait to watch more so...chow for now 🥰
i will be using cocnut oil even that i have oily hair i was using henna and this changed my life and hair
I love coconut oil a little to much. Also if you use keratin ogx shampoo and conditioner it will help with hair growth and smooth your hair. I do get my hair done sometimes but I stopped using a hair dryer a few years back. I’m 27 and my hair is so heavy so I don’t want to loose it lol 😆 thanks for the great video by the way. Your hair is gorgeous and it’s so nice to see a guy that washes his hair ❤️😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent video. I like the scientific research you've done and shared. I'm going to try this.
Is this video pacifically for men? I just started using coconut oil for about 3 weeks now and i seen a difference. But because of your video i now know not to Comb my hair in the shower and to used coconut oil before wash. I never new hair breakage happens when hair is wet. I been using coconut oil from Costco 😂
DO ITTT
Prashant M if your that concerned tie it up.
Your hair looks way better than his Bro.
Damn! Now I know why you love coconut oil so much 😀
@Prashant M Yeah man it is completely acceptable as long as you keep your hair looking nice and good
as a matter of fact
i have also been in many interviews (which i managed to pass somehow) and my hair was never aq concern for them,
all they care about is you do your work efficiently
sorry for the late reply bro
got caught up in other things
You don’t have to warm it up in a pot, just put it in your hands and rub your hands together it will melt.
Can coconut oil be used on the scalp also?
How, when to apply coconut oil to get wet look med short (4in) hair to stay down without summer humidity sweat causing several strands to frizz out and/or all of it to fluff/poof out?
A. I want the thinner wet hair rugged wabi sabi look like when you shake it just out of the shower (before it dries and poofs out)
B. Or on other days, occasionally combing slicking back flat like Gatsby hairstyle
C. No hair spray, so lady can rub fingers thru my hair
This shit WORKS.
My hair is really long so I gave it a small trim, got all the dead ends, and then used it for a week, with some castor oil too, my hair is like brand new and re growing in so many places.
ALSO: you should not heat up coconut oil in the microwave
Great video! I noticed the ogx coconut miracle that you use has other ingredients besides the coconut oil. Do you know what they are for?.. keep up all the hard work on the videos!
Castor oil+ coconut oil together are the best remedies for dandruffs
hey I don't use shampoo just water, could I use coconut oil or would it not wash out with water causing my hair to get to greesy?
I use coconut oil just to style my hair and I use coconut oil just oil my scalp but I be in doubt because sometimes I am not always sure if my hair is really growing because I use it all the time
I just finished growing out my hair and some hair strands have been falling out when I shower so I’m trying to find a way for all my hair to stay on my head
Some hair fall is totally normal. If it’s getting to be handfuls of hair then it becomes an issue
Count how many hairs you see falling on your hand when you shower. 5-15 is totally normal (not in one handful lmao, the entire shower should total to 5-15) if it's more then you have a hair loss problem
Tubax thanks for the tip man
Thanks for wonderful content😍
Which is best coconut oil or Virgin coconut oil?
Thank you for this video. I started using argon oil, but it didn't seem to be enough to detangle following a hair wash day. I tried the coconut oil you recommended yesterday and I'm still getting tangles, but they are more manageable than prior to the coconut oil. Thanks, Trav!
Get the supermarket one unrefined coconut oil
Does coconut oil hair spray work? It's a leave in product and pretty high quality, and I've been using it for a while usually after I detangle my hair. Just wanna confirm if this works.
Have you tried marula oil? It has amazing benefits for the hair, like repairing and deep conditioning. I use it often with jojoba oil. I would recommend hallelujah hair oil. 100% natural blend of beneficial oils. Bottle lasts forever too.
So, from watching this, I've damaged my beard by;
Bleaching it, towel drying too much and I guess being too rough with Viking beard beads, forcing them on and probably doing more damage when removing them due to the directional position of the Cuticle cells 😒 My Turkish barber was adamant for me to leave my beard alone for a year, he said no cutting, just let it grow. It's down to 6" long now after a tidy trim 😒
Damaged head hair due to Bleaching and also rough towel drying and probably tying it too tight. Back and sides are shaved to the skin with ponytail at the back.
My head hair is super fine so, how would I know if I have or don't have Medulla. It's thin/fine and very lightweight and whispy :(
I'm no adonis 😁 but I want to achieve the Viking style look, need my head hair thicker 😢
I brought some for the first time yesterday and quickly i learned that shit does spread fast, i used too much the first day and IT MADE ME LOOK GREASY, today is my 2nd day and i used a small squirt this time AND IT WAS STILL TOO MUCH day 3 might be a little pea sized dot because rhis stuff gets everywhere and im new and learning
Thank you!!! Can you make a video about amla oil??
Okay but why does coconut oil always instantly turn rancid when I put it in my hair? I've tried a bunch of different (food) products over a bunch of years, and it has always happened. And I love the stuff for other things, I'd really like to use it for this.
Love your videos Trav White. My hair type is almost nearly identical to yours. A lot of what you do for your hair works for mine. I am two years into my hair growth and the Same brand of Shampoo and conditioner but I use the Coconut milk shampoo and conditioner two -three times a week. My hair growth is awesome.
Thanks for the video!
My problem was use too much oil, now I will to have caution.
Hey, I watched this a while back. (Don't remember my question being covered)
I got myself some Rosemary and the Coconut oil. And I was wonder for how long you'd say it's a good idea to leave it in.
I swim quite a lot. So I was thinking -> coming home taking a shower to get the pool water out. And then massaging in the oils and leaving it in over night.
Too long? Or should that be fine? Thoughts?
Came to see hair growth tips, got a whole knowledge about chemistry. Well done 🙏
Very informative video! I use coconut, argan, castor, almond and jojoba oils for my hair. Castor oil is great for strengthening your eyelashes as well!
This guy deserves more subscribers... luv ur content bro...keep up the good work...
In India we been using these natural oil especially coconut oil from ages..
Neem oil ...is it good ???but it has a strong smell ..but is it good for your hair???
VIDEO IDEA: could you make a Q&A video where you take people questions about their hair and answer them???
I had a friend who was going bald in his 20's he had no clue what was going on and why he going bald. I told him to use coconut oil and use shea moisture shampoo, conditioner for 8 months to a year. Now he got full head of hair even longer then me. Going bald is not the end of the world it's reversible.
Hi bro I'm just 17 and losing hair fastly really worried 😔 is thier any other thing you can recommend
@@syedjaffry1579 Don't stress, use essential oils to relax, CBD oil to relax, wash your hair maybe three times a week or twice a week, play calming relaxing music, do exercise, diet by consuming lots of protein like eggs, fish, spinach and fish oil pills, take your vitamins and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. AVOID FAST FOOD when you can try eating at home more often it's more healthier. NEVER EVER brush your hair wet, use a conair tooth comb and gently brush your hair very gently. FOLLOW THESE STEPS AND YOU WON'T BALD. The key is PATIENCE LIKE A SAINT 8 MONTHS TO A YEAR.
@@syedjaffry1579 MY PREVIOUS COMMENT use coconut oil after each wash, USE shea moisture coconut shampoo and conditioner, these are harmless to your scalp and promotes hair growth.

Hi Trav, thank you for sharing wonderful insights in your channel, it really helps a lot. Looking for forward on seeing more in the future. I'm kind of curious on how do you sleep with your hair? is there anything would you recommend? Thanks Trav, my warmest regards 🦁🙏
Does it matter if it's refined or unrefined?
Just starting to regrow my hair out outside from a quarantine crew cut. Would you recommend using coconut oil on my hair to help protect the hair I already have? Always thanks for any help or guidance
Use onion oil too it's good for hair growth
That OGX oil is definitely one of the best products I’ve ever used as far as beating frizz but I don’t use it as a masque, for that I recommend real, pure coconut oil, heated up. The OGX is a silicone based product that does also contain coconut oil. The silicone does not penetrate.
Thank you for this, because I usually use coconut oil ! Can you also make a video for olive oil?
I used OGX Coconut Milk, it's an anti-breakage hair serum, I love the stuff and a little does go along way like u said.
Love your videos man. Watching from Dublin, Ireland. Decided recently to keep growing the hair out, been about 17 or 18 years since I've had it long long, so I've watched a good bit of your stuff of late and really like it, great work. Personally, I think here in Ireland that haircuts are for sellouts in this lockdown so I'ma keep it going. This is our chance to just let it grow MoFos!
