Such a wonderful video. Unfortunately , my 30 year old son has an inoperable benign brain tumor. We found out as this coworker found him unconscious at work. The last 3 years have been a roller coaster of emotions. However, we Thank God daily for Blake and the massive amounts of happiness my son brings to others. My heart aches for this family. Thank you for your instructions. I find it very helpful how you made it clear for beginners to recognise the chain stitches and count the rows. Best wishes to your loved ones from beautiful sunshine summer days of Melbourne Down Under. xo
My Grandma taught me to crochet at 7 then I didn't do it for 25+ years. I started again last year & have made at least a dozen beanies. I STILL had to undo my 2nd row cuz it was twisted..so if you did too 😏 don't feel bad. I tell people, the great things about yarn is, it's very forgiving ☺️👍 Undo & redo 😁
Thank you for doing this and thinking of others. This is why you are one of my favourite you tube creators. Small donation made, all the way from Ireland 🇮🇪☘️❣️
Hi Beecy! Oh my gosh thank you so much for your small donation. You are amazing. I appreciate that I can be one of your favorite UA-cam Channels just by being myself. Thank you. 😊🧶🧡
How many chains for a Adult Large Size? How do you figure inches per chains? My head is 22 inches, will 66 chains be big enough? Thank You for sharing!
That is a great question Mel! This beanie project is actually super easy to adjust to fit any size because there is no multiple stitch count requirement. Seriously, all you need to do is chain however many chains until you reach 22 inches and then continue on with my video doing all the same things just with a different number of stitches to start with. 😊. I hope that makes sense and helps you make this beanie. 😊❤️🧶
Hi Tiffany what a wonderful thing to do. Your a great young woman. Prayers to the. Family bless them. Thanks for the beanie pattern cute.. Love from. Ireland 🍀🍀🍀

Love this but can’t figure out why the bottom where tail is always uneven . I weave it in too but have made a few hats and all the Sam. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Shirley! You are doing nothing wrong. The bottom of the hat is just showing a spiral bottom. You can try to hide that by taking the tail from the beginning and weaving it along the bottom to try to even it out. If you wanted to you could add a single crochet border along the bottom and that will really hide the uneven part. 😉😊❤️🧶
I can not imagine a child 9 years old going through such a devastating disease. Thank you for sharing the story and giving all of us the opportunity to help. They are in my thoughts and prayers. ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 Love the beanie, I'll be making several.
I'm loving this project & wanted to share a couple tips for those who have a tendency to crochet too tight like me. 🥴 1st take a few deep breaths, relax, remember crafting should be fun, relaxing & productive not stressful & anxiety-inducing. 2nd shake it off 😏 I'm serious, put your arms out & give your upper body a good shake, loosen everything up, get the blood flowin, release tension & tense energy (+ energy will replace -). 3rd & final, I use a 'J' hook which doesn't allow me to make super tight loops. Success! 😁👍 LOL If this is you & you try a "big" hook, I'd love to hear if it helped you too. 🥰 Happy Crafting & God Bless 💟🕉️☯️
Loved this Tiffany!! Sending prayers for the Smith family and their 9 year old daughter. One of my friends is 9. I can't imagine what I would do if he had a brain tumor.🙏♥️🕊️
Not a beginner but love the look sc gives it. Never made a full sc hat but yes sc the brim only. Will try this on my husband, son, & nephews hats. Done with the girls, now to start with the boys. 😊
I love this beanie, could I use the same concept but use single crochet; double crochet repeat instead of the single crochet and do the same thing to end it do you think it will work thank you for the tutorial God Bless you
Hi Dm Tnw! YES! You can absolutely switch up the pattern and just follow the number of stitches and rows the same. 😊. Great question! Thanks for asking. 😊❤️🧶
Thanks for a very informative video, very easy to follow instructions and I find you hold your crochet hook the same way I do! Which makes it a lot easier to follow! Thank you again 😊

Thank you Tiffany I love your motto " if you have the ability to help you have the responsibility to help" I" ll be praying for Hannah & her family & all those going though cancer treatment & it's effects. I've had cancer twice & have an uncle who succumbed to brain cancer last year. Through my journey over the last 11 yrs I've come to know many beautiful people, young and old who are effected with it. I have a friend, Robyn who defies the odds .. There is always HOPE.. Please remember there are always beautiful people to help & prayer for you & especially awesome God who holds all in His Heart. So thank you firstly for telling us about Hannah and encouraging us to help in whatever way. Your tutorials & emails are always so joyful and full of life and love and hope. Thank you beautiful lady Tiffany for your creativity & help me , so far away in Australia, get through the day. God bless you & all those who follow you. God bless you, little Hannah and everyone, from Maria xxxxx (Perth, Australia)x
Thank you for telling Hannah’s story. I love the beanie too! Do you think I could double up 2 cakes of 3 weight yarn? My hands are ver sore with arthritis & fine yarn soon has them like rigid claws! I have several matching pairs of 3 weight yarn & am pretty confident I can make any alterations needed with a tape measure. Anyone who can help, please chime in too! Thanks in advance.
Hi Chrissie! I would love to help here. Ok, here is a chart I want you to use (or print out) your choice: pin.it/5x98qJW. It's the one I used to make the beanie in this video. You will also need your tape measure. OK, so when you double up your size 3 weight yarn, make your chain long enough to meet the length of the "Head Circumference" dimension. For exampe: The beanie I made in this video, the Head Circumference for an Adult Medium Beanie was 21 inches, so I made my foundation chain 21 inches long. Then I single crocheted into the very first chain to form a circle. (MAKE SURE YOUR CHAIN IS NOT TWISTED BEFORE YOU MAKE THAT FIRST SINGLE CROCHET. I have had multiply people contact me asking why their row is twisted. This is where you would fix that.) Then go about the pattern making sure that the length of your beanie also meets dimension measurement that it says on this chart. And your good! I hope this helps! Best wishes! 😊🧡🧶
I have a question. I've been trying to make this beenie, and as I am working on it, it starts get twisted. How come, and how can I keep it from twisting while I'm crocheting? I greatly appreciate your help. Thank you so much.
Hi there! Oh gosh, the best help I could offer is after you make you chain to lay your chain down on a flat surface in the circular shape you are about to join it. Run your fingers along the chain the get all the twist out and then make your first stitch to close the circle right then so you know there is no twist. I don't know how you work so this may not apply to you but have your yarn away from the project not being pulled through the center of your work. And work slowly along that very first row making sure your stitches are going into that foundation row chain not around it. Sometimes the stitches themselves can cause the twisting. A tight foundation row has been known to cause some stitches to be made with a bit of a twist. And then keep working. Grow the sides of that beanie. It may look slightly twisty the first few rows as the structure is trying to develop. Just keep going. That structure will come into place and everything will make sense. I hope this helps! YOU CAN DO THIS!!! 😊👍🏻🧡🧶
My son in law has cancer. I made several hats for him. The best yarn is Lion brand Cottonease. When he had no hair, he said he could wear the hat in bed and his head didn’t sweat. It was also great outside in the cold.
Hi Sue! You will be fine making 49 stitches instead of 48. There is no stitch count requirement so you will be ok. Great question though! Thanks for asking. 😊🧡🧶
Hi Melissa! If you want to use different colors for this beanie I would use stitch markers to help you identify the beginning of a row. End one color by slip stitching into the first stitch of the row. Cutting yarn, tying knot, and then slip stitch to attach new color and make new row.
If you use a J hook to make your foundation row and switch to your I hook for the project, you will be able to get back into your chains easier. However , I find it necessary to put my I hook away so I don’t use it in the actual project by accident.
Haha I got you. That is a great idea with making the foundation row with a bigger crochet hook. I have heard many people do this and it is a great strategy to use! Thanks so much for sharing. 😊🧡🧶
Thanks for the clear tutorial, only thing I'm wondering is roughly how tall the beanie is before you since it, I know it's 21 around but I'm using a finer yarn so the number of rows is different. Thanks if you remember
Hi Bella! Great question! Here is the chart that I use to meet beanie dimensions. Just make sure you meet the beanie length and your good! Chart: www.pinterest.com/pin/832743787349262582/
Hi Tiffany. I was finally able to get the pattern and made a nice beenie. Do you happen to have a pattern similar to this one for house shoes (slippers)?
@@CrochetWithTiffany you're welcome. I love how easy the beenie is, and just wondered if you happen to have something as simple, it would be cool to make. I love your videos. Thank you so much for them.
Hi Tiffany. This is Cathie, and I was wondering if you have a pattern for a scarf that goes with the beenie? If you do, could you please let me know? Thank you so much.
Tiffany, give the Smith family my prayers and thoughts of her medical situation. I just lost my son, who was only 46, in January to a brain tumor, so I know how the Smith family is feeling. Hope Hannah comes thru just fine. God will watch over her and them.
Tiffany what is the product you use to keep your loose ends in place ? I have fabric glue. I have to cut the tails of the popcorns after I make a knot. I do not want it to come apart.
Thank you, I can’t wait to try this! Would you recommend making the chain with a hook size larger? I am one of those people who chains too tightly. Lots of great tips in this video for us beginners starting their first beanie. 😁
Hi Pattiwan-Kenobi! If you know yourself to have a tighter foundation chain then go ahead and make the chain with a bigger crochet hook and then for row 1 change your hook out for the smaller hook. It's always helpful when we know ourselves well enough to know we need to use little tricks like this. Makes things so much easier. 😊🧶🧡
Hi Libby! That's so great! YES! You could absolutely do this hat in a double crochet stitch! You will want to refer to the Beanie dimension chart though and have a measuring tape on hand. That way you don't make the beanie too large. I believe I put the Beanie dimension chart in the notes section of this video as well as pinned a comment to the very top of the comments that you can push "Show More" and see all of my notes as well there. Great question! Thanks for asking. 😊🧡🧶

My thoughts and prayers are with the Smith family, and I love the way you teach us step by steps with extra hints on how to crochet well. Thank you.
Very nice. It's easy to make I am going to make a hat tomorrow. Thank you so much.
Oh this is perfect for my niece to go with the scarf!
Ooh love it. Thanks so much for sharing. Best wishes to the little lady with her treatment and disease. 🙏🌸
Just what I needed. Thank you
Perfect, great trick to close the beanie. Thx for sharing.
This is an awesome way to dedicate this video to your friend.
Watching your video so I can make a beanie for a 7 year girl with brain cancer
17:21 😊
My son in law has cancer. I made several hats for him. The best yarn is Lion brand Cottonease. When he had no hair, he said he could wear the hat in bed and his head didn’t sweat. It was also great outside in the cold.
Thank you so much for the yarn tip! It’s super helpful to know what to use. 😊❤️🧶
My prayer to the Smith family.
Tiffany your instructions are so clear! Thank you so much. You make me feel like I can crotchet anything
Hi Tiffany i am making another beanie..is it a big deal if I did 49 stitches instead of 48 for the 3-6 months..Thanks
Hi Sue! You will be fine making 49 stitches instead of 48. There is no stitch count requirement so you will be ok. Great question though! Thanks for asking. 😊🧡🧶
What a beautiful soul you have.....btw love the beanie
Hi
Beautiful. You are so talented. Thank you.
That is so beautiful and straight!
What a wonderful idea 💡 plus hope for the family.
Awesome video, very clear on instructions.
I like seamless hats. Will be making a lot of them. Thank you
Thanks for all you do!! 😊💚😊💚
I now have so many projects to make from you. Christmas gifts it is! Thx.
Hi Peter! Haha! So glad I could inspire you to crochet! Have Fun!! 😊🧡🧶
I love the colors your wearing
Thank you do much Tiffany..
Great job! I didn't think I could do it but think now maybe able to do it. Thanks for your help.
Thank you so much Pam! 😊🧡🧶
I will pray for her and her family 🙏💜💔
I really like this pattern but would like use different colors of yarn for a striped pattern. How and when would be the best time to change colors?
Hi Melissa! If you want to use different colors for this beanie I would use stitch markers to help you identify the beginning of a row. End one color by slip stitching into the first stitch of the row. Cutting yarn, tying knot, and then slip stitch to attach new color and make new row.
Great! Thank you!
Perfect & easy. Love it
So cute! I missed where you list the yarns used for each beanie...
Hi Cynthia! I used Yarn Bee Glowing Purple Multi. 😊🧶🧡
Love your hat and th and you so much.
Beautiful beanie!!! My prayers for the Smith family. May I ask what brand/colorway of yarn you used for the beanie that you are wearing?
Thank you so much Rebecca! I used Yarn Bee Glowing Purple Multi

@@CrochetWithTiffany That's great!!! I just bought some at my local Hobby Lobby. :) Thank you.
If you use a J hook to make your foundation row and switch to your I hook for the project, you will be able to get back into your chains easier. However , I find it necessary to put my I hook away so I don’t use it in the actual project by accident.
Correction : I put my J hook away . The I hook is for the project. Fat fingers pushed the wrong letter. 😂
I looked I don't understand it. I just want to know the measurent from where it sits on the forehead to the top where you gather it together
Thanks for sharing! ☺️👍👏
Hi Tiffany. I was finally able to get the pattern and made a nice beenie. Do you happen to have a pattern similar to this one for house shoes (slippers)?
Oohhh! I wish I did have a pattern already worked up for some house shoe's/slippers! I'll have to add that to my list! Thank you for the fun idea! 😊🧡🧶
Such a touching video. Hope St. Jude can help them. Also, are the written instructions provided for this hat? I want to make hats for the homeless. 💚
The BEST beanie tutorial ever! I have never been able to master the Beanie, but now I think I can! Thank you so much!
@@CrochetWithTiffany thank you!!
Just finished the hat. Turned out great. Thanks so much! Do you think I could also do this hat in double crochet stitches?
Thank you Hope 😊
Blessings to the Smith Family. Blessings to you, Tiffany and Family.
You have pretty hands. Do you play the piano?
Hi Nancy! Thank you so much. Nope, I do not play the piano. Took some lessons when I was really young but haven't touched a piano in a long time. 😊🧶🧡
Love seamless hats and single crochet. Can I use bulky 5 yarn?
Looks my head is so small I have to leave some rows out. Pretty
Hi Ann! Check out the very end of the video where I show how to make every size of this beanie. That way you don't have to guess. 😊🧶🧡
Hi hon...it's so much easier to see Stitches on a light color yarn than on dark. 🥰💞🙏
Best tutorial ever! You explain everything so well! Thank you 😊
