Neat to see so many people interested in the gas masks we make (I work at Avon Protection). As you said about the clear valve we did in fact change those so the issue where they stayed open is resolved.
Yeah it seems like it would be an easy part replacement, I've found storing this M50 with the filters removed helps with the self sealing valves.
Weaponsandstuff93 are they replaceable?

Why is the C50 so much more expensive than the fm50? Is that a reflection of the quality or something? Or is the cost of the filters so much more for the m50?

Hopefully the UK switches to this mask, so you can get new filters for it
WOW, they have a color indicator that tells when it's expired! they really should do it on ever filter. Cause I'm a farmer so I guess when the filter is Expired, i change them every 3 - 6 Months (Big Filters)
Yeah it's an indicator and not always correct but it's a good feature.

@@DamianAI9 Sadly I only know Avon do it on their CBRN filters both for the GSR and in 40mm. Some others may do but it seems a relativity new thing.

I just bought a M50 for 44 $ lol i though i bought the real 1 until i realise the real M50 costs around 500 $

I have a couple of questions, first, I've noticed that some Soviet gas masks, like the GP-5 and the PBF, came in both white and black, was there a reason for this, color designation maybe? Second, I've recently found out that the S6 mask had a tanker helmet and a diaphragm microphone that came with it, do you have these, and if not, are you planning to get them at some point?
No idea why the colours are different, I have an S6 but not a British tank helmet.
I’m very late, but the black masks were usually for industrial/non-military government use, or export. Locally they were for chemical factories, fire departments, ect. The Soviets (and later Russians) also sent a lot of them to Cuba, Vietnam, Syria, and so on.
The black rubber is also significantly more resistant to UV light, where as the white rubber will turn a tanned color and start to crumble/tear if exposed to UV light for too long.
Security Forces from Insurgency: Sandstorm are seen using this model. Very fitting with the expensive FAST Helmet.
Any idea what model the Insurgents in the same game are using? I am sure it's Soviet/Russian origin, but the specific name of the model is out of my head...
And what do you think the orange smoke from the Insurgents' chemical mortars are? Chlorine of some sort?
It's the Soviet GP-7 if I remember right, just not modelled totally right.
The new valves are white in color. Not to be confused with the older clear ones.

It depends... if you want a genuine M50 you have to buy surplus, but it is a new mask so I assume there won't be a lot of surplus ones and therefore the price is going to be very high. But if you only want it to look cool for cosplay/display purpose you can buy a repro on Aliexpress.

I missed it? Will this mask not take standard NATO filters? Also can it be worn with a Team Wendy EXFIL Ballistic helmet?
The AVON M50 mask does not take NATO filters but the Avon C50, PC50, and FM53 do. I can’t answer the second question so my apologies

Is the lens resistant enough to practice paintball?
Doesn’t look quite like something for paintball because if something gets in the mask it will probably poison you, and also it’s not paintball approved quite yet but i don’t recommend using this because it isn’t paintball proof. The M50 gas mask was obviously intended for breathing in toxic areas.

There are mask measuring guides but pretty sure they're classified for current military issue masks

Silly question but is there any meaning with gas mask names? Like what does GP5,S10 or M50 even stand for?
Your question isn't silly, it's actually prevalent among starters.
Well as far as I know, the "GP" stands for "Civilian Gas Mask" in Russian abbreviation of "GP" and the "M" in M50 means "Model", since it's an US designation, you might be able to point out if you're familiar with US equipment, and at last, the "S" in S10 probably doesn't represent anything, maybe it's just there for labeling purposes…
S in UK masks is short for SR which is Service Respirator.

I actually got a question, about filters, i actually wanted to use a S10 Filter(the black plastic one) to actually act as a dummy without any filters inside to make the breathing easier. May there be any chance to get somehow a dummy filter or a technique to get the contents out of the filter without really badly damaging it ? i would even take any other filter if necessary.
Get a Chinese refillable filter, they have a screw open section, dump the contents in a bin, then you have an empty prop filter.

Dude… the straps on the PMK 3 is terrible, they're a pain in ass to adjust due to its sticky rubber material, also the port which is supposed to connect the filter is all rubber so it's far more difficult to mount the filter, I don't think it's worthy of testing

Can you wear eyeglasses with this mask? Or will that break the seal?
It doesn’t seem to. Just got an Avon M50 myself and I have glasses, so I think you can wear glasses.
I completely take that back. You cannot wear glasses when using this mask.

logically No, it is a modern mask, otherwise it would not be accepted by the US military, it would not make sense for it to have it, it is not an old mask
