► Hair Color:
This a custom color job, created by a stylist at a salon, using a professional system not available in beauty supply stores and which requires a valid cosmetology license to purchase--no I do not know the name. It cannot be recreated precisely and the shade looks different on me every time she touches it up since she blends it up on the spot and it changes shades every time I wash my hair.
Bleach was not used. We have been lifting my hair lighter and lighter over time using developer (which is not bleach) since October of 2015. I will not post a video on how to color because I am not a licensed cosmetologist and I will not give directions on how to use chemicals that I do not have a good understanding of. If you'd like help with achieving this color, please consult a LICENSED professional who specializes in natural hair because coloring will alter your hair and can damage depending on your texture and the process.

I knew that strand test was ca-ca. According to the strand test I’m low porosity, however my hair has all the characteristics of hi porosity. My hair get wet pretty easily and dries extremely fast. I’ve learned a lot from you and SheRae.

Im low porosity for sure, but that drying one I don't know. If I wash my hair and let it air dry like in a afro form it seems to dry fast but if I twist or braid it or put a rod set in....it literally takes my hair almost about two days to dry. smh

Omg I LITERALLY was just Googling this question just last night! I watch several naturals here on UA-cam with different hair porosity. I wanted to know how to tell exactly without that annoying hair strand test 🙄😂. This pretty much confirms that I am normal (medium) porosity! I don’t know many of us lol especially here on UA-cam 😩

Hello Daye! Have you ever tried using LOC and LCO on both sides of your hair to see what it looks like? That would be an interesting video to watch since naturally you are low porosity but now have high porosity because of color treaments.

Okay so I thought I was low porosity before watching this video based on other tests I’ve tried and the forbidden float test lol, but after watching I got different answers and I have a few questions for you
Here are my answers to the questions
1. Low
2. Medium
3. High
4. Medium to high
5. Medium to high
My biggest issue is knowing when to deep condition with products that focus on bringing more moisture vs more protein. My hair is wavy to loose curls around my face/ scalp and under parts of my hair but the middle sections are closer to loose wave/straight. I do not have colored hair, get regular trims and use the curly girl method and still have issues with pattern consistency throughout. I’m not sure if I have multiple porosity types or if I’m missing something.
