    You've correctly identified Strive's core gameplay issues (rounds being way too short) and applied it to the wrong system mechanic (the game being way too fast)
    The real problem is the damage being too high across the board. FighterZ is a game in which EVERY character is as fast as Chipp yet you never see people complaining about the speed of that game.
    You probably shouldn't think that Street Fighter's popularity at the moment as opposed to Strive's numbers has something to do with the game itself neither -- this is just how fighting games are. In a year Street Fighter will too only have it's core playerbase left at around 10k people. Same thing happens with Tekken, with MK, with SF's previous entries. It's just how this genre goes, get in at the start or play only versus people that know the system mechanics inside and out years later.

      Idk fam. Sitting there blocking 90 hit strings is WHY i never want to take fighterZ online and stick with casual couch play lol.

    haha, guess I didn't guess buffer a move correctly during a specific gap in chipp's 50+ gap mega bum scrum mix. Haha, guess it's just a skill issue, am I right fellow 200 dying strive players???

    Lobby system is a bad idea. Don't keep it.
    With this system you can choose to only match people that play characters that you have an advantage over. There's no timer, so you can do this forever until you get to celestial. All you gotta do is be patient until someone shows up that wants to play at a disadvantage, or someone who doesn't know/believe they have a disadvantage. So what's the surprise that you end up with completely inexperienced players in the top 2 floors?
    A ranked system that makes you fight random characters is better, because if you're a competitive player you should be able to match and adapt anyone you face. It's a harder road of improvement, but it's worth it in the long run.

    You know what's also not fun?
    Dash blocking your way into a character, only to fuck up right when you get to the opponent, getting sent full screen, and having to do it all over again
    It's not optimal at all to play in a way where you force your opponent to dash block ad nauseam - you will practically only do chip damage, but it's so boring to see and frustrating when you mess up
    But yeah, the knowledge check on Chipp is really silly, and I understand health is a resource, but like, come on. You can't give a character all of the best tools to commit crimes with, slap low health on him and call it a day; that's a top tier as soon as people get consistent with him. For every video of a Chipp getting murdered by a potemkin, there's 8 others that got opened up 3 or 4 times and couldn't get a hit in on Chipp.

    I'm so glad it's not just ME with the connection issues.. like, when I'm IN game, I'm vibin. No problems. But sitting through trying 5 times in a row to connect with another player and failing feels so bad

    Not at consistent Celestial, but I do reach it every once in a while. And its hell. F10 is like I'm getting mostly W's, and Celestial is mostly me getting Perfect'd.
    Winning in F10 is so easy, I don't learn anything. Losing in Celestial is so easy, I don't learn anything. And I main Faust, so there are barely anyone making videos for him, and he's his own mindset, so I can't learn from playing/watching just as easily as other (usually Rushdown) characters. Not to mention how inconsistent he is.

    I mean, commenting on the lower player numbers of xrd and accent core, do keep in mind how much people move on from fighting games when new ones come out.
    A lot of people think SF4 was the best version of street fighter. I don't agree with them, but the player numbers for SFV and SF6 are vastly higher simply because they are newer. Not a great argument.

    What do you think about newcomers? Is it okey to get in or it is TOO LATE to start playing?

    • @mgedecim8tors
      @mgedecim8tors  Рік тому +3

      Now is the best time to start, you’ll be ahead of anyone else that starts later. As I mentioned in the video- there are matchups that are slow and easy to learn and only a couple matchups that are very fast.

    Interesting perspective. I feel that Strive is a pretty slow game. I don't have too much trouble blocking for the most part. It might be because I came from Skullgirls where defense is merely a suggestion. Anyways good luck in SF6. See you there!

    slower characters struggle against rushdown no way (totally surprised defo not a skill issue and using sf6 as a scapegoat)

    im surprised you didnt talk about the ability to do absolutely nothing in this game, all of the extra shit aside, shit connection, characters that feel broken, fucking knockdowns that snowball into infinite pressure, i just would like to do ANYTHING besides grind celestial levels, i'll play again when slayer gets announced as he is my favorite character and has been since #reload but until there's literally nothing keeping me occupied in this game, sf6 released, mk1 is going into beta testing, tekken is too, and there are things not even in the realm of fgs that are keeping me more occupied than strive, i guess all im saying is strive is boring as fuck

    • @mgedecim8tors
      @mgedecim8tors  Рік тому +4

      couldn't of said it better myself. Fighting zoners leads to prolonged matches and I no longer enjoy the cutscene combos I do as Nago and Millia, shit feels exhausting how long I'm in them for.

    The reason why Strive succeed over XRD because Arc System Work was already a well known and establish studio after DragonBall FighterZ. When GG XRD came out I didn't even know about this game because their marketing for it was soo non existed that I hear more about Skullgirls over this game. Once FighterZ was announce that when I first hear about XRD. Many people were talking about how this is the same studio that made that game. So no, it wasn't because of the Samsho style of gameplay for why Strive was successful over XRD. FighterZ exist and their soo much BS in that game it not even funny.
