The coolant heater booster on this Mercedes w210 e220 cdi is installed to provide extra heat input while driving in very cold enviroment. So in the situation that it does not work , this video might be helpfull .

The heater booster can have different placement, for example the w203 has it on the engine block underneath the intake manifold and in the vicinity of the starter motor. The pump which you mention of is not needed for the system to work. It may not be equipped on many MB vehicles. That pump is for the REST function, meaning that if engine is warm and you don't want to stay with engine at idle you can shut it off and press REST on the HVAC control and you have heat inside the cabin with the engine off. My heater booster got shot and it drew a lot of current from my car; it drained the battery in a matter of hours. Great video. Thank you for it!
I have the same problem with the coolant heater booster down near the engine block at my 220 cdi W203 year 2006. It drains a battery but slowly in the winter. How Can I fix this ? It shows some faulty on the diagnostics. Thx

Hi my car has a diesel heater booster, not an electric. Do you have any expereince with those? Mine used to smoke a lot last year in the winter, but I don't believe it was working right. now it won't even smoke.
If it has a glow plug check if it does work
What can I also check if the car doesn't get warm up quickly?
I have changed the heat booster, Thermostat and also checked the Fuses.
The car still does take to much time to reach the Temperature 87 degree.
I have to drive 20kilometres to Work until the car reaches the correct Motor Temperature.
i had before w203 220cdi. That was my problem too. I sold it so. I hope you find the problem.
check the secondary thermostat it has 2 thermostats. One on the engine block and one in front of the radiator, near the horns. Check it out in my UA-cam videos

@@mbz4652 yes... It was the webasto additional heating for the cdis that was not Working correct.
