    Did the repair today! Worked like a charm! I had no heat for 2 winters over a $50 part. The dealer told me the repair would take two days and cost over $1000. He told me something else completely different was wrong and that he’d have to take apart the entire dashboard and console. This video saved me $910. The asshole dealer charged me $40 just to look at it.

    Excellent video ! Thanks a lot, that's a tremendous help. For others doing the same job, just note that the wipers can be difficult to remove and will require an extractor to come up.

      Thanks for commenting! You're right about the wipers. I had luck with mine - they came right off

      Cder Zed the wipers are tough to get off I found that if I put pressure on the blade so that the rubber was flat against my windshield that I was able to more easily pry it up.

    Great video. I did have a question though...
    I am trouble shooting my car not blending temperature on either side (driver's or passenger's side) of my Diesel w211's dual climate control. it makes no difference if i have the temp selector dial on the climate controller in the 60° position or the 90° position, it blows ice cold air. Additionally, if i continue to turn the temp selection dial until i reach the "red" dot, the heat works fine. So there is no blending/mixing/ or regulating temperature to a specific comfortable setting.
    Does this sound like the symptom you encountered that made you change this valve?

    Hello . I have a w212 , I’ve made a long trip , and the heat stopped ! Recently I’ve changed the cooling hose !
    Do you think that I have to make empty all the antigel and put a new one ; change the heater valve ? Or maybe you have another option ? Thank you very much .

    Only applicable to LHD, if you're doing this on a RHD the valve is located under the brake master cylinder and is a nightmare of job to do. Great video btwm

    Before I start this repair I'd like to have the correct size hose clamps ready to use. Can you either provide the hose clamp make/model / size info? Looks like a nice DIY repair but could end up with a mess without correct hose clamps. The ones and size you used look PERFECT for this tight job. Can you please provide detail on clamp sizes... thx

    would my heater don't work because of the bad AC or I have 2 separated problems, lack of Freon and this Heater Valve??

    i have 2006 CLS500 2 times online got the wrong part 211 832 06 84 suppose to be 211 832 05 84 has an extra hose connector for the engine side single clip connector that has the rubber boot around it. My Paid Euro Mechanic friend adapted it with a plug & clamp. It last over 3yrs then the plug cracked & leaked. Had to replace myself this is were I got the same wrong part again, Found the correct one on Walmart online that shipped from amazon but it wasn't OEM and is Chinese knock off. I got the part in with the 2 clips connector to the Heater core on the firewall OK and electrical connector. The hard part is the single clip connector with the boot. I spent hours, It won't go in at all. There is a wide key slot on the bottom and a smaller on the top. The wide part on the bottom seems to be the obstructing key. I took pictures with my phone it matches the original slot keys.The guy in this video pushed it in easy with 2 finger. There's got to be some tolerance issue or I'm just not getting the trick of how to do it. My mechanic said it you get too forceful you could damage the heater core in the dash which is big money to replace. Has anyone had this problem or do I need to order the OEM part?

      I have had same problem. It was easy fix until the new non oem part that fits on the 6pm side of the valve does not fit the water hose head. The two slots do not fit. I am unsure what to do, maybe shave off the nubs or find some way to rig it, or put the old one back on and get Mercedes oem part this time :(

    How much time to disassemble?, time to replace valve?, time to reassemble? I am trying to break up the repair because I don't have 3 straight hours to attempt this. Thanks!

      should be done in 1.5-2 hours, if you are prepared and have the right tools for this job. the trickiest parts is to get this old valve out. Sometimes it's easy and fast, sometimes it takes some more time. Thanks for watching

    Was this operation done because there was no heat goi g i to the heater circuit?
    I have that problem on my 2010 Vito but just can't figure if it has anything to do with the cabin air quality sensor.

    • @dieseldog9644
      @dieseldog9644  7 років тому +1

      Yes, there was no hot water coming from the engine to the heater circuit, because the valve misfunctioned due to a broken O-ring. your problem might be similar to this one otherwise it might be the electrical heater coil (if your car has one) ...this would be bad - costs a lot of money to repair, so try this valve first

    • @tiagomonteiro2678
      @tiagomonteiro2678 7 років тому

      DieselDog Thank you for answering! The problem with this valve system is that is plastic sealed. Not sure if I can take it apart.
      If it was a blocked situation due to residue or about a month with the van parked, could the valve become stuck?

    • @dieseldog9644
      @dieseldog9644  7 років тому

      I've seen two valves so far that had the same broken O-ring. I also tried to open it, but the clips broke right off. It is not worth the time. Part costs only 40 $/€. In my car the this valve failed once, than worked again, but after one week it stopped completely, so I had to change it.
