I guess the red flag laws weren't utilized? Maine must have the most criminally incompetent police force. They found his car and his "suicide note" and yet they can't find this guy. They knew who he was hours or sooner from the mass casualty event and they can't stop him? Police often times give people a card that is a "courtesy card" basically saying "this person is with us and please extend to them every courtesy." I first learned of this on a reality show called "It Takes a Thief." In an episode that featured a college student that was going to become a police officer. She had one and it was "stolen." It was returned to her but the point is: what if this guy had one since he's a firearms instructor that has done work with the government? Did he get out before they realized who they were looking for? I don't trust the police. They should have found this guy already.

@@schemar17 pretty sure its safety has nothing to do with boredom. I've lived all over this country. Boredom and crime go hand in hand. The big factor would be cost of living. Altho I do agree that maine is an other wise safe area and I do also acknowledge that the most violent and dangerous cities in this country are largely ghetto. This is still a big reminder that no matter how safe a city or state is, our second amendment is important. People get comfortable within safety and neglect preperation. Which is what happened here. 2023 have been a incredibly difficult year for you all, and stuff like this keep happening. Children gets killed, adults gets killed, teenagers get killed, seniors gets killed. Either you need to revise your gun laws and requirements to get one or you need to take a serious look at yout health services when it comes to mental health.
