- The suspect in the Maine mass shooting started making statements about hearing voices and wanting to hurt fellow soldiers while serving at a military base this summer, and spent a few weeks in a hospital, law enforcement officials told CNN. CNN’s chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst John Miller has the details. #CNN #News #Shorts

Maybe, but maybe not, as that would be unusual for schizophrenia, where the many I have worked with never saying they interpret their auditory hallucinations as being in certain locations, or for being physical people they heard in certain spots.
I have heard people with schizophrenia say they recognize the “voices” as hallucinations, or some who interpret the voices as angels/demons or other spiritual things, or some or think of the voices as a radio or other broadcast directly into their brain (usually attributed to the FBI or some other group), but never heard anyone with schizophrenia think the voices were actual physical beings or people who talked about them only in certain areas.

Here you had a 20-year military firearms expert hearing voices telling him to go and shoot up a nearby US Army Base (actually National Guard Base in Saco ME), and for that, he was sent to a mental health facility for 2 weeks and released. The another possibility is he would come to realization and take his own life before being caught. He may knew he is walking out of his life the moment he took the gun and stepped out.
Yup that was it, I think I am watching too much crime investigation shows. Lol
My. nephew had those things happen to him. He went to his wife's home when her parents where there. He was a sweetie just crying so father in law called police, he got charged with attempted break in.. he was crying in mania wanting to talk to her..yreh is scary seeing someone like that but he was never violent or aggressive..the police are not the solution. So he went home after bailed out. after couple weeks still manic, no health care.
In court he is charged and going to prison. Why??? Father in law would not drop charges bc in TX men do not cry and steal men send weaker men to jail bc hey can. Bastards.
He was not violent..in court still manic trying to hold it tougher with pills he had now. So he did not shoot others, he took his friends gun and shot himself.
Guns kill ppl bc without them they would have to make other choices that are not so easy and final.
I'm so sorry. There needs to be greater public understanding of the symptoms of mental illness like bipolar and how to properly treat it. having a mental illness should not criminalized, that only creates more fear and leads people to avoid addressing the issue properly
Pills 💊
@@drebugsita Thank you. He was having a break down. Never had this behavior in whole life. Is hard in american for ppl to survive with low pay. no more middle class. families struggling. and the only one you can call is the police. Whereas here I Europe we call social services. If angry the cops help but they go to a care home not jail. Inhumane how the wealthy and greedy are sucking the life out of americans. Pay taxes. and give health care for all. Is humane especially for the richest country in the world. The cruelty is insane.
@@SUGAR_XYLER NOPE. Pills are not immediate and not easy to get for most ppl.
Guns can get everywhere and is quick and done. No time for anyone to save you.or to change your mind. Lack of empathy now in america is the cause. Mean ppl rule.

Maybe, although murder in general is far more common in Democratic cities and we see all the Democrat kids at fancy colleges are pro-terrorism/murder by Hamas so there are crazy people in both parties.

A bunch of silly speculations, a plethora of stupid "mental health" references, various simpleton worthy observations, with no substantiation, basically a report about...nothing.
how he was able to get his hands on an assault rifle with hearing voices telling him to hurt people shows gun control needs to be more stringent
he was a licensed firearms instructor ~ already part of his daily routine. Having background checks don't do a damn thing if a perp goes haywire after the fact. the point is, high-capacity battlefield weapons should NOT be available to the public NOR domestic police.
Maine has very lax gun control laws.
"assault rifle" is an arbritary term.
@@peterlongprong7521Domestic police will always need them now because of how many are already out there. They can't go Glock against AR. It would be ugly.

"We are going to send our thoughts and prayers"

While I listen to an ad for lock leather holsters. Making it easier to obtain guns is their best answer.
Well truth be told there are about 400 deaths per year with rifles. Half are suicide. Which leaves 200 between murders and accidents. Child abuse resulting in death by mother alone is 408 children a year. If guns were the problem it would be known

No wild speculation! Nobody knows what the gunman's motives are. He's still on the loose which is absolutely frightening considering that he's ex military and he's an expert sharpshooter.
That's what Americans do at home and abroad.
Time to change?
The shooter voted Biden. We KNOW his motivation and it's been bubbling up since 10/7, which was like Christmas morning to the Democrat Nazi party.
