You have to make sure the firmware is updated by plugging the dongle and headset into your computer and up updating their firmware. Then they will connect to the app right away.
Bluetooth is the biggest thing for me. I love being able to play games and listen to music/podcasts at the same time. And of course, the sound quality is nice. I also like how easy the 700s are. After you sync it to your Xbox, you really don't have to think about them ever again, other than charging. They just work, are easy to use, and have great sound. After experimenting with the Astros and Artics, I prefer the TB 700s. And for $150, I think it's a good price compared to the competition. When they break or die on me, I'll be buying a another pair, but as of now, they work flawlessly. Love 'em!
Owning both the Gen 2 600s and 700s for the Xbox I agree with your review. However I feel the 700s have a slightly different sound signature because of its earpads. Both sound very good but the 700s are just better overall. They sound better and just feel like a premium product. Well worth the $50 difference to me.
I got the 700s and they sucked so much, they lacked bass and just felt super flat. I’m looking for something that’ll give me some bass and meaty ness to the sound quality
Thanks man! This has helped me make my decision and I need the 700’s. I need the metal design because my plastic Gen 1’s are too squeaky, I need that comfort for long gaming sessions, and I have GOT to be able to turn down the boys in the chat with that dial on the 700’s, not JUST, my mic monitoring. Thanks man!
I have the 600 and the only issue I've ever had is recent with the mic mute and unmute. When muting it works rather fine, just slight static when putting the mic up. However, when you put it back down it takes a few tries to get rid of a static issue and actually get audio to go through the microphone. I've had this headset a little less than a year now though and it's always been amazing, possibly just a short in a wire at this point.
Well after two days my Stealth 700 have just frozen completely. They will not power off and none of the buttons or microphone are responding. Packing it up and returning. I will just stick with the Gen 2 600s. The sound is near identical and they are just simpler to use. Not dependent on the bluetooth app to change things. They just work right out of the box.
im deadd i went to look at technes merch and listening at the vid at the same time, then when I scroll down read one of the shirts that say stinkin cozy and he says it as soon as I see it😂
Coming from a pair of HyperX Cloud II wired, I thought these 600’s were great. That is, until I joined a party on Xbox Live and my friends said they could hear everything going on in my house. It’s important to note that, for at least the 600’s, there’s no mic sensitivity option. Mic monitor only controls how much YOU hear of yourself through the ear cups. It was bad enough that one of my friends said that the ambient sounds in my living room (TV, kids talking occasionally) were louder than his in-game audio. I tried everything and my party said it was still really loud. Last thing I want is a headset that drives people in my chat crazy, or interferes with call outs in Destiny 2 raids or Black Ops matches. I even tried using a diffuser from an older headset and it didn’t help. Until Turtle Beach adds a mic sensitivity function, I cannot use or recommend these. They’re getting returned for something else.
Just picked up a pair of the 600's at Walmart and wasn't too impressed with the comfort. Returning them and ordering the 700's off amazon. Think cushions looks much more comfortable on the 700's. Thanks for the review!
I'v been searching for a great headset that works with both consoles. I've tried the steel series which are really comfortable but I ordered the TB 600 just to check them out. I hope I'm not disappointed
@@ReNoO2013 I'm very picky when it comes to comfort. The TB 600 gen 2 max had to much clamping force for me so I returned them however I was impressed by sound quality. Over all if comfort is just as important as sound I would go with something from the steel series. The sound quality is solid especially if you're willing to tweak the settings and most comfortable I found. Definitely worth a little more money

For anyone watching this now. You need to update the firmware first before connecting the headphones by Bluetooth. Got the 700s today, the Bluetooth didn't work. Connected to a pc, updated updated firmware. Bluetooth worked instantly
Ive used turtle beach headsets for the last 15 years and have had them all for the xbox consoles over the years from the expensive £300 stealth 500s ect to the value for money £89 600 first gen,so as im getting the xbox series x i thought i would get the gen 2 700s so i have them ready, all i can say is i used the headset on my xbox one x for a few days and the sound was great however i had to send them back due to the headset being so so tight and hurting my ears after only a hour or so which ive never had on turtle beach headsets in the past. one more note is that no matter what i could not get the 700s gen 2 to connect with the android app. ive now ordered the 600 gen 2 headset so hopefully these wont hurt!
You have to update the firmware on a PC FIRST THING. Go to Turtle beach website on pc and download the updater program. Then attach headset to pc via usb-usbc cable. Update the firmware, THEN download the app and try connecting. If you haven't updated the firmware and you tried connecting, make sure to Uninstall the app and don't reinstall on your phone till you've updated firmware on the headset.

Heads up! RESEARCH THE 600! Great headset in every way except prepare to have NO CHAT. TONS of problems with people losing the ability to use party and game chat. Really pisses me off that I wasted $100 on a headset that I got to use with friends.
The phone call while playing is good , only question is can everyone in your chat hear what you are talking about while on phone call , or does it mute your chat so your call stays private ??
I sold my gen 700 bcoz they were really uncomfortable! I sold them for $20 it was that bad.., they were heavy, pressure clamp, ear cushion was fine. Sound was awesome though. ….i just ordered the razr blackshRk pro , hope they are better, i bought them bcoz of techne. I wanted the logitech g pro v2 though. Please correct me if i made the right decision!!
I had to return the 600. After an hour my head hurt so bad. The clamp is way to hard, I've got a bigger head but my old turtle beach didn't give me that issue.
Just purchased the gen 2 as a present for myself and by far worth it had the stealth 520 for years and then replaced it with the razer kraken pro v2 (hated them) now these and omg worth it
not sure ill get a reply in time... but im about to pick up a new headset. i'm on PC and im between the 700s and astro a50s. i was wondering if when using the 700s can you hear yourself talking through the mic. i know you could with the stealth 400s and i loved them. thank you
How would you compare the 700 Gen 2 against the Cloud Flight or Cloud Mix in terms of sound quality and comfort? I currently own the Cloud Mix... but that cable is getting annoying so it‘s going to be 700 or Cloud Flight
I owned the CloudX Flight (xbox version) and the Gen2 700s are more comfortable to me and just sound better. The Flights sound good but I can detect any locations and such much easier with the 700s. Maybe if the Flights had a equalizer I could modify then things would be different.
The main trouble with several sets of Headsets i have had is VOLUME and nobody every mentions it! I had some Hyper x stingers..decent budget but NOT loud enough...upgraded to Razr Krakens...loved the build quality and most comfortable headset ever owned..NOT loud enough! For me playing games like Call of duty I like to be able to turn the volume up uncomfortably loud and then turn them down slightly. Had some platinum golds which were loud enough but very tinny sound. Had some platinums which were better but I just sat on them like a fat idiot and I am caught inbetween the new ps5 pulse headset coming out soon and getting something else now. The Platinums are still £100+ and when I bought them a couple years ago they were on discount so I would pay more for them now! Which obviously not going to do. My issue with buying a headset is i wanna try those badboys out on the games that I play to see how I get on with them before dropping loads of money.

I am so confused... I am trying to decide between the 600 and 700's. I have an old pair of 700's and the #1 feature I love the most about them is the ANC active noise cancelling! Its a deal breaker for me. Yet it is barely mentioned in other comparison charts and is not mentioned once in this review. I know you say they both sound really good but Noise cancelling adds a whole other level of sound quality. I see on the turtle beach website ANC is only available in the 700's. Great review but I don't see how this feature is overlooked unless I am getting bad information or am reading the other reviews wrong. Please help!
Had to send my new 600 gen 2 straight back today. Just couldn't get them to sync with the Xbox. Tiny Sync button on the cans doesn't do anything when pushed. Light remains flashing green no matter what. Tried everything.
My stealth 700 just broke earlier today with 1 month left on the warranty so bestbuy gave me the option to get a diffrent pair the same pair of $ back so I just ordered the 700’s gen 2 they are coming tomorrow and I’m pumped
I had the 600 gen 2 but they broke from where the left speaker connects to the rest of the headset i love them tho so I might go by the 700s and try those out
I stinking love this review ! Lol 🔥 came here looking for a PS4 ps5 review of these headsets but your review is more than enough for me to confidently grab a pair for my PS4. Thanks a lot new subscriber!
Im told there are actually slight build differences between the xbox and ps4 version of the 600s. Can you confirm? For example where the hinges are the xbox have 4 screws and ps4 has 3 screws.
Hey techne I have a question should I pre order the model o wireless I really want to but I don't want it to be mistake and I was wondering what you thought great vid btw I personally like the 700
The techne which of these wireless headsets would you recommend to other people (me) 1.logitech g pro x (2020) 2.logitech g733 3.Razer blackshark v2 pro Which one is the comfiest, best sounding, etc..
Not sure on the first two, but I just got BlackShark yesterday and so far no complaints, their definitely comfy and easy to use. The wireless works awesome I can go downstairs and they are still connected I’m im under my room.
I've been testing the G Pro X Wireless and the V2 Pro for the past week, switching back and forth. V2 Pro is definitely comfier, and has slightly better sound. However the G Pro X Wireless' build quality is much more solid. The first V2 Pro that came had the right side bracket slider slightly looser than the left one. I couldn't get it to sit properly on my head without it sliding down randomly. This was a manufacturing defect so I reordered it on Amazon. The second one had the same problem, albeit to a lesser extent on the left side bracket this time... I feel like the V2 Pro will definitely have problems later on with these cheap brackets. The G Pro X will last longer for sure. The mic on both of these sound pretty similar according to my friends on discord. The G Pro X Wireless' connection distance is definitely much better than the V2 Pro's however. I get some connection issues in my kitchen with the V2 Pro's. End of the day I'm settling on the G Pro X Wireless, even though I like the V2 Pro's a tiny bit more, because the spotty connection issues in my kitchen is a deal breaker. However if you don't care about connection distance + the shittier brackets that might break quickly (You still have a 2 year warranty with Razer) then I'd say the V2 Pro.
The Techne I like your response no second thoughts or sentences just straight up the v2 pro. I can already imagine it The Techne saying “And my nominee for best headset of 2020 goes to... The Razer Blackshark v2 Pro!”
The 700s feel great, but they're not good for noise. I exchanged the gen 1 for the 2 cause my friends kept bitching about how bad the echo is, but still had the same problem. I could put game and party chat both and half volume and they would still hear it.
The 700 is superior in every way. Trust me. The 600 is made of cheaper material and lasted a mere week for me. A week. On the other hand, the 700 is the opposite. Ultra durable. Withstood several months of - admittedly - rough treatment before finally cutting out on one side. Sounds far better to boot. The difference is one's more pricey. You can guess which one. For the money, I suggest a third product. The Rig 700. Same price as the Stealth 600, but lasts longer, features Dolby Atmos (cutting edge) compatibility, and includes 2 year membership on the software. Has only 40mm drivers, though and that's the give. On the other hand, if you're willing to cough up 50% more, get the Stealth 700 for sure. Added BT functionality, 50mm drivers, better build. I've had all three. This is firsthand experience talking. ***Edit: Don't be a fool like me, no matter the choice, opt for the warranty***

Love 'em!
Are they still working to this day?
@@robertstroud8743 , yeah, I use them just about every day. No problems
Owning both the Gen 2 600s and 700s for the Xbox I agree with your review. However I feel the 700s have a slightly different sound signature because of its earpads. Both sound very good but the 700s are just better overall. They sound better and just feel like a premium product. Well worth the $50 difference to me.
I agree well worth the 50$, but man they sound spot on the same to me (stock sound, no app control)

I purchased the 600 gen 2 and tried it out and I liked my Cloud flights more.
I just got them too
Number Five I still got the cloud flight too I returned the 600 gen 2
I own those and in my opinion they are not comparable to the 700.
I was convinced by the hand gestures.

Thanks G! Going with the 600, fits my needs perfectly. Glad to hear the sound is the same.
Great Video as always I love your energy In this.
I was about to order and I am glad I saw this comments you saved me the hassle

I'v been searching for a great headset that works with both consoles. I've tried the steel series which are really comfortable but I ordered the TB 600 just to check them out. I hope I'm not disappointed
how was it and do you recommend it
@@ReNoO2013 I'm very picky when it comes to comfort.

You need to update the firmware first before connecting the headphones by Bluetooth.
Got the 700s today, the Bluetooth didn't work. Connected to a pc, updated updated firmware. Bluetooth worked instantly
Def such a great help for deciding which to buy
Do you think the 700s hurt because of the no mesh on the 700 compared to the mesh on the 600

Maybe if the Flights had a equalizer I could modify then things would be different.
curtis lawson thank you for that input!
Bro I got the same problem. Still haven’t found a pair that’s loud enough after years of headsets

1.logitech g pro x (2020)
2.logitech g733

Which one is the comfiest, best sounding, etc..
Not sure on the first two, but I just got BlackShark yesterday and so far no complaints, their definitely comfy and easy to use. The wireless works awesome I can go downstairs and they are still connected I’m im under my room.
v2 pro
@@rexinghosty4607 LOL, I will have that soon ;)
The 700s feel great, but they're not good for noise. I exchanged the gen 1 for the 2 cause my friends kept bitching about how bad the echo is, but still had the same problem. I could put game and party chat both and half volume and they would still hear it.
I'm quite picky when it comes to design. I'll be getting the 600s purely cos it comes in white.
Great job on the review. This definitely helps. Just curious what size fitted hat do you wear and also can the rechargeable batteries be replaced?
Upgrading from the old Turtle Beach X41s which I’ve had close to 10 years now. Looking forward to getting the new 600 cans.
Nice review and which keybord would you recommend for 100-120$
The 700 is superior in every way.
