Templates and 3D printer files that were used in the creation of this model are available from the download section of my website: www.bouldercreekrailroad.com/...
If you want to build dioramas and model scenery this is where to start, Scene-A-Rama have a range of starter kits that will get you started in building awesome dioramas that are perfect for school projects or even as a test bed for trying new techniques that can later be applied to a large model railroad.
To create the dam wall shown in the video a Scene-A-Rama Water Diorama kit was use, however, it was supplemented with a range of products from Woodland Scenics to create the final project. Below are a list of products and the associated links on where to find them:
Some of the products I used in the video were sent to me for the purpose of making this sponsored video but if you’ve been a follower of my channel you’ll notice I have purchased quite a lot of these products already, which is why I have no problems recommending them, they are great products and as you can see in my library of videos the results speak for themselves.

This video is just 30 minutes of luke swearing at a wall for some reason
"The damn wall."
Wall abuse is not a joke, Jim. Millions of bricks suffer every year!
I came here for that! Wasn't disappointed!
9:00
"the damn surface"
"We are going to start with the damn wall!"
Ok calm down dude 😜
By putting the accent on the word "wall," he did tend to make "dam" sound more like an adjective: "damn."
This had me laughing right from the jump
@@minutemark that’s the joke, but thanks for elaborating it.
Now this is sponsorship done right. You take the product that helps you, and explain why it's worthy of sponsorship through use and/or skill, and show the viewer how deep you can go with the product with your OWN expertise. I really like your videos dude, they really help me get my mind off of things.
+ using homemade things for the additional products
Hey.....I couldnt agree more. I've been following Luke for.yrs and 95% of it is his genuine nature.and tone of voice.....I also agree on the sponsorship comments!
That was the best water sight teal i have ever seen
Luke is hands down the best scenic modeler online. His work is simply amazing and with his photography skills you can easily be fooled into thinking his dioramas are real.
Also check out Boomer Dioramas.
That's a dam nice model, Luke.
The dude painstakingly painted the corridors which nobody will be able to see well enough to notice. Freaking amazing.
That's called attention to detail and is the difference between a good model and an amazing model. Luke's models are always amazing.
this is called passion for detail! many aircraft modelers paint details that will then be completely covered: passion leads to that too: the pleasure of doing it for yourself!
Yes!! I was so impressed!
Your work truly goes above and beyond every single time! We are extremely happy to officially partner with you. It's crazy how much can be done between our diorama kits and Woodland Scenics products. Even when presented with a challenge (such as mixing products to create a modelling paste), you are able to be innovative and rise above. Thank you for always being such an inspiration :)
My inner 12-year-old: giggles every time "dam base", "dam wall", etc." is mentioned.
I keep on giggling too lol, it's so dam good xp
Same here!
Same here 😂👍 P.S. I’m 44 🤣😄
Is this a dam joke Jackson?
Dam this was a great video!
I am shocked every time I watch one of these. They are so creative and detailed. I actually tried making my own one based on one of your videos which was fun.
oh awesome! I'm glad I was able to inspire you to have a go and it's even better that you enjoyed doing it. That's what it's all about 😃
He amazes me! No one does it better.
I don't dare try. I know i would just make a huge mess.
@@gardenman3 My first model ship was terrible, but a couple years later and learning a few little tricks, I just finished my 4th ship and it came out great. Too bad it was a gift for someone because I wanted to keep it. It takes practice but once you are good at it, the more you'll want to do and better it will turn out.
Same. I really want to try but I know my hands aren't that steady. 😂
the Bob Ross of model scenery making right here has done it again with this dam
I legit wanna see a medieval village or ruins or something like that. It would be amazing to watch you building different scenic diorama that fit together as a scene.
Luke, have you ever won any awards for your diorama’s ?
Perfect for a saturday night watch. 🙏
Don't lie, Luke, we know those "muscles" are made from Plaster of Paris.
Oh man! That's what I call a 'glow up'! Great work as always.
cheers Merrick, this was a fun model to build. As you probably know the water dioramas tend to be a lot more interesting to look at 😎
You are Rocky of Modeling… You don’t ‘ve any competition… Best work years after years!!! ✌️🦋💐🇨🇦
Love this one. You’re a huge inspiration, Luke!
I love seeing other awesome creators comment on videos I'm watching.
Perfect timing for a Saturday evening. Time to sit back, chill and watch your amazing work for inspiration. Thank you for the time you put into all of these amazing dioramas.
Thanks Rob, I'm glad you are enjoying the videos and I hope you enjoy watching this one as well 😃
I was going to say the same thing, however it's Saturday morning for me!
Another hit out of the park!!!
Nice waking up to a diorama being built by ya, cheers.
Another awesome diorama.
That damn wall! Thats what I'd hear every time.
I think that woodland scenics should pay You for promoting their products in such an excellent way.
If not your videos i wouldn't even know about them.
As always great and inspiring video.
Cheers from Poland
Yay...!! A new clip from Luke..!!
I couldn't help thinking of Chevy Chase in National Lampoons Vegas Vacation during this one. A lot of dam jokes here. lol Looks fantastic Luke.
The wait times are worth the video release. I would truly enjoy an hour video.
A rainforest scene would be amazing! Would love to see
Every new post of yours just makes me happy. Thank you, and I'm drinking to your health.
The title alone is enough to know: This is gonna be awesome!!!!
BTW: The thumbnail made me think of a Stargate first :>
ha ha thanks mate 😊 I hope it doesn't disappoint 😎
@@LukeTowan Oh please, that never happened before!
Same
@@LukeTowan would be pretty awesome to see you recreate the Stargate gateroom.
@@whidzee OH, MAN, HE LIKED YOUR COMMENT!!!
I'm gonna go ahead and assume that means there's hope of Luke actually building a Stargate diorama. 😃
What a great artist you are !
Perfect video for the saturday night! Awesome as always Luke!
I think this is the best white water i have seen from a model video. I think it captures the churn and foam better than fibre fill of the snow effect alone. Really cool to see!
Dam … ok my enjoyment of the dam wall I couldn’t stop smirking each time.
Proving once again that quality is worth the wait. Always love a Luke Towan notification... :)
And I just made an audible, "OOOH!" when I saw there was a new Luke Towan video!
I love seeing the transformation from the static grass. 💚💚
Dam good dam model!
Dam fine diorama video, Luke Towan!
The exiting water from the pipes is awesome. Looks pretty realistic for sure.
I showed my wife one of the final shots. Her comment was "Wow. That's a lot of water. Where is that?" I told her it was a model and her eyes got wide.
Thank you Luke for your video. What a great idea for making the water plume. Thank you for all your hints and tips. May you and your family be blessed.
Would love to see a winter landscape diorama.
That access tunnel with lights is the best part. I'm going straight to the scene-a-rama website to order a kit. I love this tiny scale.
i know its called a dam
but i cant help but chuckle everytime he says: stick on the dam wall
or similar things
Dam, that's a beautiful dam!
Your comment makes me so dam happy 😄
@@LukeTowan :D
Finally a new video! Volume 27 and you still make something unique, not just a road and some trees and bushes, you always come up with something new and interesting! Keep it up! And I can't let this comment go without mensioning that damn wall!
Oh man since I last watched you, your techniques have changed! Baking soda? DIY modelling paste? Look at you go!! Loved this so much!
Thanks so much 😊
Dam! That looks incredible.
Its my birthday today and seeing the notification for a new video has been the highlight of the day :)
wow! the best waterfall i have ever seen
yeah... this is really ultra realistic
Watersight teal is a must for this diorama!
Finally, another video I can binge watch 😅
Another dam phenomenal project.
Absolutely love your work, Sir!
Dam! These videos are like Bob Ross on steroids!! Keep them coming Luke. Awesome.
i’m glad to see i’m not the only one who had a giggle every time he said “dam wall” etc.
Damn that realistic
Back with a bang!
thanks again, it was a bit of a wait between videos. Glad you enjoy the way this one turned out 😃
I love tour dioramas love from philippines
glad you enjoy the videos Louela 😊
Holy crap, I was scrolled by the thumbnail and I had no idea it was a diorama. It looked so realistic
Loved the watersight teal!
I came for the biceps, but I stayed for the diorama. Just kidding, I'm addicted to your videos. You're an amazing artist. 😻
This was a dam good video
Imma see myself out
I really enjoy your format. There's no ego involved in your presentation whatsoever and I appreciate that a lot. And the talent that you have is incredible and I applaud you for that. Normally with my condition I have a hard time staying focused on a lot of videos but yours keeps me interested. Congratulations on your excellent talent.
Beautiful
This is my favorite youtube channel
Dude... This is insane...
Thanks mate 😉
No doubt about you Luke. You’ve done it again. Your super clear communication is greatly appreciated.
Amazing build of a dam. 🙂
Another work of art by our master builder. Thanks Luke.
Amazing work, congratulations.
For trimming the edges of the ‘water’ have you considered a deburring tool designed for metal? I think it would give you less of a chamfer and also be less likely to dig in and take a big chunk out. Might not work but it might be worth a try.
Might also try passing a torch flame over the dulled chamfers to get them to match the smooth surfaces. Not sure if it works for resin like this, but it does for plastics, so worth a try
It's difficult to distinguish the real from the model. Thanks for teaching us how to do it right, Artist. Cheers from Spain.
thanks so much 😊 I'm glad you are picking up some techniques from the videos.
Another great tutorial Luke.
Glad you liked it!
Simply blown away with this video. Amazing what you accomplished. I have to admit though, one of the first things I thought of was “ohhh it needs a Lancaster Bomber flying over the parapet. “ great work
I'm a simple man. I see a new Luke Towan video I click on it...and drool over the diorama.
Luke I’m not surprised you’re not sponsored by woodland scenics
What incredible talent! Thanks!
That's a skill when you can make still water look moving
Amazing. Great work.
He’s back, baby!
One damn of a damn wall! Man, I love your creativity. Wonderfully inspirational!
Amazing, as always!
Cheers from India
I would love to see you do a winter diorama!
I love any and all videos that start withbthat adorable little car!
Dam good diorama Luke
Nice to see you upload
That is really great.
Complimenti da un fan in Italia 👍
That’s a nice dam wall!
LUKE TOWAN, I LIKE YOUR WORK, AWESOME!
Finally have another of Luke’s videos!
Foam putty looks cool! Never seen such a thing
yeah, this was the first time I had tried it and I thought it worked quite well 😉 I've got plenty of ideas I want to try.
Zoomed in, there is no way I wouldn't think this is still photography of a life-size dam. You are clearly head of the pack in your technique and coloring. You leave _no stone_ - unturned.
The water flowing out of the pipes looks incredible. I never would have guessed how it was done!
Hello friend.. sending support, hope to see you soon.. thanks and GOD BLESS
My day was seriously made when I got the notification of a new video. I always am so happy to see when one comes up! Amazing as always!
Im always amazed to see how creative people can be when creating these models, love the work mate
