- Noch gifted me the following items for use in this video:
Gras Master 3.0 Profi static grass applicator
Laser-cut stinging nettles
Super Trees
Foam and Spume
6mm Beige Static Grass
Static Grass Glue.
The only Noch product I paid for in this video is the bag of Boulders for the riverbed.
You can purchase these items and much more from their website: www.noch.com
A big thank you to Noch for supporting me with their products. I was not paid by Noch to produce this video other than by being gifted these products.
One other point: I'm informed the 'punched leaves' I referred to are actually birch seeds! You can collect them from the seed 'pods' and they make great fallen leaves.
For a while now I've wanted to remake my most popular project on UA-cam. Not because I think I can repeat the same success, but because I feel my techniques have improved and I can do a better job now than I did then.
This ultra-realistic river diorama video shows you how I started with a wooden tray from a hardware store and turned it into a beautiful natural scene, complete with a large wire tree and amazing water effects.
I hope you enjoy watching this model river coming to life and I hope it helps or inspires you in some way.
Many of the materials and tools I use come with safety instructions. Please always read and follow these rather than simply copy what you see me or other people doing.
Music: Northern Lights by Chris Haugen. UA-cam audio library.
0:13 lol it looks more realistic than river behind my house wtf?? XD so freaking good job sir
Ha ha! Cheers Nick.

This is making me sleepy like a lullaby bruh Soo relaxing
I find this Chanel 2 years ago when here was couple of video. Sooo... I can’t stop watching this 😅
I rarely comment but this is stunning work, I love the roots and ivy along the bank and I will be trying it on my next river diorama. Details such as these and the leaves in the water just bring your scenes to life. It's always such a pleasure to see your work
Thank you, Peter 🙂
WOW. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? This is INCREDIBLE. Fantastic job. 😊❤️
I hate to burst your bubble, but look alike...you are not. LOL!
Outside of the amazing work, I love how you always so considerate of your viewers, advising us to wear gloves, explaining the techniques and materials used. It’s just so sweet of you! ❤️
my mind is completely blown by the concept of STATIC GRASS APPLICATION like omg all the pieces of grass are standing up individually like they do IN REAL LIFE its the smartest coolest thing i think ive seen all year
RIGHT?! I was just in awe
The birch seeds are a brilliant idea
I absolutely love the leaves on the water effect.
him: makes photo-realistic landscape
me: cant even make breakfast
HA HA spot on!
I am completely in awe. Such a beautiful piece. You are extremely patient and have a great eye. Gorgeous.
I so love your works, and the way you create and your voice and tone you explain. calming and exiting at the same time. thanks for keeping up.
What a lovely river you've made !!! all my congratulations ......
This channel about to blow up im calling it first
It is 2 AM and I am deep down the youtube rabbit hole loving every moment of this channel. Sometimes the youtube algorithm really nails it. Great video, great channel!
It looks so real!
Thank you!
Dildo buy said the same thing to Japanese
It’s always wonderful to watch a craftsman work his magic. Thank you Merrick, for another stunning diorama.
Cheers Norman!
Absolutely amazing! I'll have to look around your UA-cam pages and search for videos on how you're making trees. I'm working on an fictional Alaskan Christmas village diorama and I'm needing to create some Spruce, Balsam Poplar, and Quaking Aspen trees and if I'm going to be creating them, I'm going to follow your technique as you are the master of realism. Between you and Luke Towan I am in awe! You two are AMAZING!
Wow that’s amazing. I have been doing some research into how to make a river on my model railway layout and I have to say this is the most realistic one I have seen so far. Not only that you show us exactly how to do it. This will be very useful when I do mine. Much appreciated 👏🏼 Thanks Mark
Wow, the scenic glue is such an integral part of every step, almost. If only I could scenic glue my life back together!
I know exactly where you're coming from, me too. Wish I could glue 2 new hips on !!!! However, his work is brilliant, even if he does get all the expensive vegetation for free.
Oh man you gotta use those sun lights with this! Super warm tones would look so amazing 😍
The Mod Podge really brought it together, great work.
today was a hard day for me. I'm glad this was on my recommended. thank you.
fantastico, por fin alguien que explica y trabaja bien!!! increible
I was having a bad day at school today, but then I come home and see this!
Thanks for making my day a little better!
Glad to have helped!
lol
Brilliant stuff. Your attention to the smallest detail is great. Love this.
I'm glad this popped in my recommended. Absolutely stunning! Looks like a place I'd love to visit in real life too.
This was a pleasant recommended video. It was mesmerizing to see something look so real.
Awesome, awesome, awesome - beautiful build.....
Once again, beautiful work Sir! Thanks for sharing.
First video I’ve seen of yours, and I’m blown away! Very beautiful work, you are an expert of your craft.

No idea how I got here but I enjoyed every second of this video!
I’ve used lots of your technique into my builds thank you.
Your models provides inspiration
I really dont know why YouTUbe recommended it to me but i loved every second of it!
my dads uncle used to do this stuff.
ive realized that in the modern day people still love doing this.
but its in video games for the younger crowd.
Love all the small details in this! The leaves on the stream, the roots creeping through the banks, all the different grass. Looks beautiful! I also really appreciate the round base and seeing you reuse all of those foam offcuts. Thanks for posting this, and have a good day/goodluck with your next project!
Thanks Abbie. Glad you liked it!
Looks amazing & thanks for showing the results at the beginning of the video 👍
I'm really glad this came to my recommended video. Very calm background music that goes perfectly along this project. Subscribed.
Wow! I have no idea how your video made it to my channel but I’m glad it did. Incredibly Detailed, I have no idea how many layers go into something like that. Great job very very cool!
hi there! i barely ever comment on youtube videos and, well, quite frankly i dont know how to word this comment so it may sound incredibly awkward and stupid, but im a sixteen year old girl with depression. and i've also been in love with art and intricate things like these since i could remember. and, well, this video made me so immesurably happy. its the first video of this type that i'm watching and i am excited to now be immersing myself in SO many more since i've discovered this one. i haven't smiled like this or gawked at something amazing and felt genuine joy in such a long time, which is why i wanted to tell you that your content genuinely made me so incredibly happy. i dont know who or how many people this comment will reach, but if you made it this far, then remember that whoever you are reading this, you are loved, you are important and if the universe didn't need you, you wouldn't have made it this far and been here :)
This came on my recommended, and I usually wouldn't click on this but thank god I did, I am in awe. Thank you
Thanks very much for this; your methods and techniques are well explained and; I hope; easy to emulate. I've been a model maker for some 50 years or so, but really haven't done much at all in the way of diorama/display, but am hoping to, so this is a BIG help for me! Unfortunately my budget (or lack there of) means I'm going to have to come up with homemade alternatives to some of your chosen methods/products, but for me, that's all part of the process. I also VERY much appreciate the unintrusive music you chose to accompany it!
Wait, what? WOW!
Wow Outstanding work Sir!
Great work! And great video!
I hope you are better now.
Yours, Alex
Thanks Alex. Getting there.
This is art.
I'm using these videos as examples for video game design. these videos are a good tool for that because it's not real life. the fact this was made by a person means it's already a distilled version of reality, where each thing that exists here was consciously chosen for its visceral impact. this helps make these a more manageable thing to study. as we can see in this video, a creek like this really has about 10 different unique elements that when blended together, gives people the impression of a creek. you can then be sure to add those elements in a video game, and the effect will be awesome. definitely going to watch others by this youtuber.
I was watching a thing about a 12-year old terrarium, and now I'm here. Fantastic skill!
Excuse you how can you be so talented 😲😲😲
Great for model train layouts. Thanks for the ideas. Great work.
Wow this is the most insane work of modeling art I have ever seen. This video left me feeling really good inside. Does anyone else agree?
Amazing job!!! Love your attention to detail. 😊
