I rarely comment but this is stunning work, I love the roots and ivy along the bank and I will be trying it on my next river diorama. Details such as these and the leaves in the water just bring your scenes to life. It's always such a pleasure to see your work
my mind is completely blown by the concept of STATIC GRASS APPLICATION like omg all the pieces of grass are standing up individually like they do IN REAL LIFE its the smartest coolest thing i think ive seen all year
Outside of the amazing work, I love how you always so considerate of your viewers, advising us to wear gloves, explaining the techniques and materials used. It’s just so sweet of you! ❤️
It is 2 AM and I am deep down the youtube rabbit hole loving every moment of this channel. Sometimes the youtube algorithm really nails it. Great video, great channel!
I know exactly where you're coming from, me too. Wish I could glue 2 new hips on !!!! However, his work is brilliant, even if he does get all the expensive vegetation for free.
Love all the small details in this! The leaves on the stream, the roots creeping through the banks, all the different grass. Looks beautiful! I also really appreciate the round base and seeing you reuse all of those foam offcuts. Thanks for posting this, and have a good day/goodluck with your next project!
Hi Merrick, good to have you back. As always a great build. One thing I enjoy from your videos is the honesty in your build process. If there's something you don't like you change it along the way.
This video was such a pleasure to watch! The finished diorama is stunning, and your filming and editing are also so great. Seeing your upload really made my day!
I'm not even remotely into this hobby. But now that I watched I can only tell you that this is amazing and I'd put something like this on my bookshelf with my very best collection.
Absolutely amazing! I'll have to look around your UA-cam pages and search for videos on how you're making trees. I'm working on an fictional Alaskan Christmas village diorama and I'm needing to create some Spruce, Balsam Poplar, and Quaking Aspen trees and if I'm going to be creating them, I'm going to follow your technique as you are the master of realism. Between you and Luke Towan I am in awe! You two are AMAZING!
Wow that’s amazing. I have been doing some research into how to make a river on my model railway layout and I have to say this is the most realistic one I have seen so far. Not only that you show us exactly how to do it. This will be very useful when I do mine. Much appreciated 👏🏼 Thanks Mark
hi there! i barely ever comment on youtube videos and, well, quite frankly i dont know how to word this comment so it may sound incredibly awkward and stupid, but im a sixteen year old girl with depression. and i've also been in love with art and intricate things like these since i could remember. and, well, this video made me so immesurably happy. its the first video of this type that i'm watching and i am excited to now be immersing myself in SO many more since i've discovered this one. i haven't smiled like this or gawked at something amazing and felt genuine joy in such a long time, which is why i wanted to tell you that your content genuinely made me so incredibly happy. i dont know who or how many people this comment will reach, but if you made it this far, then remember that whoever you are reading this, you are loved, you are important and if the universe didn't need you, you wouldn't have made it this far and been here :)
I'm using these videos as examples for video game design. these videos are a good tool for that because it's not real life. the fact this was made by a person means it's already a distilled version of reality, where each thing that exists here was consciously chosen for its visceral impact. this helps make these a more manageable thing to study. as we can see in this video, a creek like this really has about 10 different unique elements that when blended together, gives people the impression of a creek. you can then be sure to add those elements in a video game, and the effect will be awesome. definitely going to watch others by this youtuber.
When you do something I get scared that you are going to ruin such a master piece, but then when you clean it up or the glue dries it looks even more lifelike. I love your nuanced and intricate creating style!
Thanks very much for this; your methods and techniques are well explained and; I hope; easy to emulate. I've been a model maker for some 50 years or so, but really haven't done much at all in the way of diorama/display, but am hoping to, so this is a BIG help for me! Unfortunately my budget (or lack there of) means I'm going to have to come up with homemade alternatives to some of your chosen methods/products, but for me, that's all part of the process. I also VERY much appreciate the unintrusive music you chose to accompany it!
Amazing work, This reminds me of being young and making a realistic landscape with running rivers etc for my train set the 100's and 1000's of hrs i spent perfecting things...now i would need to be rich so i could pay someone haha
There are a mere handful of names that get mentioned when talking about the art of scenic dioramas, whether it be for model railways, gaming or just a stand alone diorama such as this one and Merrick, you are one of them! A superb level of realism that most modellers can only dream of!.
Wow! I have no idea how your video made it to my channel but I’m glad it did. Incredibly Detailed, I have no idea how many layers go into something like that. Great job very very cool!
go for a walk, as i assume youre justifying sitting in front of a screen in your short life. im only behind one now from my office at work, cant wait to get outside after
i paint warhammer figures and doing the bases has always given me a bit of trouble. videos like this really help with the inspiration a bit. calling this ultra-realistic is a understatement. this was an amazing project. i love the way you did the tree
Who else randomly found this, and can't stop watching

This is making me sleepy like a lullaby bruh Soo relaxing
I find this Chanel 2 years ago when here was couple of video. Sooo... I can’t stop watching this 😅

I'm glad this popped in my recommended. Absolutely stunning! Looks like a place I'd love to visit in real life too.
You and Luke Towan are the Bob Ross of the 21st century. Great work!
Wow, the scenic glue is such an integral part of every step, almost. If only I could scenic glue my life back together!
I know exactly where you're coming from, me too. Wish I could glue 2 new hips on !!!! However, his work is brilliant, even if he does get all the expensive vegetation for free.
my dads uncle used to do this stuff.
ive realized that in the modern day people still love doing this.
but its in video games for the younger crowd.
This came on my recommended, and I usually wouldn't click on this but thank god I did, I am in awe. Thank you

It's easy to see why Noch supports you. You're the perfect foil for their products.
I was watching a thing about a 12-year old terrarium, and now I'm here. Fantastic skill!
Found it great that we both watch Luke Towan! He is a great diorama creator!
He's a master 😊
Luke Towan is amazing. But you are really good my man!
Time is the most precious resource we possess. One which cannot be renewed.
Wow this is the most insane work of modeling art I have ever seen. This video left me feeling really good inside. Does anyone else agree?

First video I’ve seen of yours, and I’m blown away! Very beautiful work, you are an expert of your craft.
I'm mainly a wargamer as far as modeling goes, but I'm straying into more realistic dioramas as of late and these videos are a huge inspiration!
