      Yes indeed. I just did a cutout in my Styrofoam board for a lazy creek or small river. Will (try!) to get Luke's results as I've never done any scenery before. Studying real scenery and watching these MRR channels are a great way to overcome lack of imagination.

    What do you do with all these dioramas? You've got to have a big collection by now! Also, do you have any larger layouts? I know the dioramas are great for youtube episodes, but it would be cool to see a series based on a big train layout!

    Hi Luke,
    This is a great video and your river technique, I wish to employ in my viaduct (video to follow).
    My question is, having painted the river bed onto a plywood base, can I apply the Envirotex Lite, straight onto the acrylic paint. I’m worried that it could lift etc.
    Regards Charlie

    • @billroot2692
      @billroot2692 5 років тому

      Just used enviortec on my first ever river diorama on a foam core base with no additional sealer, then painted with light coats of acrylic and some sponged accent colors. Not a single bubble......Not sure acrylic paint would adequately seal the wood. Mix a small amount of enviortec and apply it to a small area to see. Follow the instructions explicitly ! re: exact equal amounts of resin and hardner, and mixing times. Great stuff....

    Whenever I'm 40 with kids I'll probably do this to completely remake the entirety of the maps in my favourite video games, assuming my favourites remain the same which is quite unlikely.

    I was looking for a tutorial on how to make water for my slot car track scenery. When I saw the length of this video, 27 minutes, I told myself nah I'll skip right to the water tutorial part. I ended up watching the whole 27 minutes of the video! Wow it was very interesting watching this guy works, so many steps, so many details, for a wonderful result.

I have now binge watched about 20 videos (when i get the chance) in just a few days and have decided (via your help that you always give on products) to go buy enough stuff for my first SMALL trial of a pond with fisherman, maybe 12' X 12" thank yoso much for what you do and recording it, so peaceful and relaxing to watch.

    Have you thought of having your dioramas connect together to form a larger layout? Maybe do another diorama that connects to this one. It can have a waterfall, or a hydropower dam, or anything else associated with rivers.

    Man, everything on this channel is so cool! I usually paint and draw but have wanted to dabble in something 3D that wasn't just glued together painted planks. I had no idea what I wanted to try but you make realistic scenic models look so much easier than I would have thought. While I know it takes a lot of work and planning, I think I now have some projects to strive for!
