- We are working hard to get the D150 hemi swapped. Today we installed the Hemi into a D150 dodge truck! Woot and Whew! We used Bouchillon motor mounts and it was mostly a direct fit. We had to give up some accessories but we will figure out how to get them back after the engine is in. All in all it was a good day and we got the hemi sitting in the truck. We’re getting close to having this thing ready to ride soon!

when installing an engine/transmission together, jack up the rear of the car, it will make installation easier.

I was already planning this for my 79 Ramcharger. It currently has a 360 magnum, NV4500/Dana 300. But today I just picked up a super clean 85 D-150 /6-4spd OD short bed. I also have a 340/4spd 72 Duster that I’m debating a Hemi swap in. So I may be doing a lot of business with you guys soon.

Love the vids I have an 86 d150 I plan on swapping it currently has a 318, I'm wanting to turn it into a fun street truck but I cant decide whether to 5.9 magnum swap it or hemi swap I'd prefer the hemi but the price of buying just the hemi engine is about the same as buying a 360 and building it I'm also concerned about a hemi blowing up on me since the valve seat tends to drop in them. The thought of a 3rd gen hemi sounds awesome though any thoughts on what I should do? I'm just after biggest bang for the buck preformance wise (fuel mileage is not a concern)
You have to go new Hemi all the way. Patience brother! We got a running whole donor car for $400! Don’t buy on chance. You’ll usually get screwed
How w does a 3rd gen hemi run with a 727 trans? I wanna do the swap in a half door 74 ramcharger. Thanks for all the information this has helped me so much.

I have to check once I'm in the shop. It may have different mounts and wouldn't work in our case. Will check one for a car once we get to buttoning her up
Hey Blake. I was trying to follow along with this swap. I picked up a 1984 D150, basket case. The previous owner gave it a serious case of whisky rash. The brakes and front end were a mess, presently replacing because it wouldn’t even roll. The engine was filled with what could only be described as a mixture of water and 200 weight oil, about 11 quarts! I’m trying source a hemi now, but not having much luck in this neck of the woods. You did say to use a 2005-2008, right? After seeing what occurred with your installation I’ll be making my own motor mounts. Good stuff! Can’t wait to see what’s next.
2005-2008 truck Hemi. 2006-2008 car Hemi. Better computers than previous version. Also 06 and up had the better ignition/coil pack setup.
I just found your channel so idk if you covered a W150 swap? I absolutely want to do a Eagle swap in my 1985 W150.
Great video, we are doing a gen 4 hemi swap in the same era truck as yall, wonder if these mounts fit gen 4 hemi.....I don't see anything listed for gen 4 on their site

Dang it was easier to put a 5.3 in my old 84 d150. I like the hemi but they’re still very expensive in my part of the country. Maybe one day I’ll run across a deal on one. Until then I’m still very pleased with my 5.3/4l60. My goal was to get the truck running driving so that’s why I went the route I did.
In that case a magnum/46RH was easier. Cam and intake mods would have had a lot more power too.

So ideal brake booster would be off a 4x4? I have a 90 w350 so I should be fine correct? I have a 06 5.7 short block with no oil pan but using my A518 trans. So should I get the steel oil pan or aluminum? Thanks

You can use a factory manual steering box or Bergeson power steering unit but not factory power steering in an A body like that

i have a 07 dodge charger v6 car .i bought a dodge magnum parts car for the hemi and wiring...the 07 has bose factory amplified system..can i install the o7 amplified system with the magnum harness..?..
Its not as safe. But if you can lift the truck off the ground a little. Its got more room to clear the engine transmission combo as a whole. Stab it straight down.
Been following this build. Got a clean 74 dodge van an a 2012 5.7/nag1. Wondering if the truck style hemi swap motor mounts will work for me? Any thoughts? Thanks

Holley makes some really good products as do other vendors.
Its really all dependent on what you want to accomplish and the budget you have to play with
are 2010 dodge ram heads alot better then the 05 heads. from chrysler 300....?..do the 2010 heads still have the valve seat problems..?..

Working on the same swap now. Do you think 6.1 exhaust manifolds would fit the truck? Or will they hit the frame? They look quite a bit bigger than the Commander log type manifold, but not sure how much stick out from the engine. Thanks.
Went with the Commander manifolds. Had to notch the frame a little to clear the flange area.
I used the same motor mounts. They are nice. I reused the old 727. The engine and trans actually sits about 1in forward from stock. I had to weld some plate to the trans mount and drill new holes. Wasn't too big a deal.
I took the front clip off. Slipped it right in. No need to move brake booster.

Hello, sorry to bother you, I have a 2015 charger 5.7 hemi engine that I want to swap into a 70 challenger how can I do to send you ecm/ecu so you can do the skimming on it.
Wondering if this motor mount kit would work on my project (97 dodge van, 3.9to hemi)
Not certain at this point, but we will be experimenting with vans in the future

So far the only thing we bought were $200 motor mounts. Literally.
There will be some costs coming up, but not much.
Did the commander need to have the skim removed?
Yes it does. Most vehicles do. Only a few 05s don’t but they are hard to find and skim delete for $200 is possible
I’m looking to hemi swap my Infiniti M35 you think it would be as easy as one of these
You gotta do it! It won’t be as easy but if you can get it mounted (get some universal Hemi engine mount brackets). And mount the trans. Will be custom also. You’ll just need a custom driveshaft and corvette fuel regulator and your pretty much there. We have QuickHemi harnesses to control the engine with the factory ecm.

That's a 2nd Gen not a 1st Gen. If you were smart you would know that. 1st Gen is from 1974 to 180 and 2nd Gen from 1981 to 1993 in the USA and 1995 in Canada. Just pay attention to the body lines that tells you that. And I know because I use to work on those trucks when they was new . And we have several of those trucks and Ramchargers
And juck yard of those trucks and Ramchargers. Are 1998 Ram has a 408 Stoker in it
you missed that by 2 years. 1st gen body style started in 72.
sucks that you have to severely hack up a brand new mount specifically built for this purpose...
You don’t have to much if a 09 and up VVT hemi. This is a non eagle 03-08 style. Is what it is, nothing a diyer can’t handle
