I agree, I think it'd be really fun to have the Genie on too. Maybe at the same time! They seem like such interesting personalities, they'd play off each other well.

34:05 No one's talking about how the "complex victory algorithm" has actually been real this entire time and not just the Professor's excuse for Ryan losing.
New theory: The fake professor is the genie impersonating the Professor because Ryan's wish last season was to win. Because of the wish, the genie has to keep the show going without the real professor, and make Ryan win every match (kinda like how genies would sometimes twist people's words when it comes to wishes). This is also the reason why the songs this season seem quite a bit more mellow compared to the previous seasons (these puppets aren't actually alive, and are just the genie pretending to be them). It's also likely why the horse wife doesn't have any new voice, but is rather a really default sounding voice. I'm not quite sure what the lotion is doing, but I suspect the real professor is gonna come back in some really cool way o.O
I like this theory! I feel like Azmodeus will come back into play somehow. Maybe that's where the lotion will lead? 🤔 I'm loving the lore, this series is so phenomenal.
I was thinking that maybe the lotion will turn Ryan into a puppet somehow. The Professor is weirdly insistent about it so maybe it’s some sort of twist that the genie wants or the Professor needs to come back into reality
Genies wishes are often double edged so like...Ryan having to deal with what he's done (murdered our fuzzy little proff) and having no one acknowledge it and always winning would be fitting
I was also thinking this had something to do with Ryan's wish to win! And it also could explain the emphasis on the B Boys, but not the C dogs, which is known to be the professor's favorite bit, because the genie doesn't know about the professor's sense of humor
Im rewatching and I realised that there was a hint in the professor ‘s memorial. The propeller said that Ryan is trying to save his skin when defending himself but this was literal. Then the professor saying something something ‘beautiful skin’ referring to ryan’s body. And the genie wanted to take over ryan’s body, I didn’t realise how many hints there were jn my first watch
The Professor's jovial, friendly voice is so soothing that it's easy to forget that something's not....quite....right........Caution, Ryan, something primordially terrible lies in the darkness.....

Rudy Fantoose, the author of the article that led Ryan to finding the professors clothes, is an anagram for "son, you farted." An obvious reference to Ryan's dad. Ryan's dad is known to have beheaded people as a dentist. There was a reference to beheadings in this ep, and is blatantly hinting at a beheading arc where the professor will attempt to kill Ryan in revenge... It's all so obvious.

after having this series on my to-watch list for several months, I've been watching it while working from home for the last week or so, and thought to myself the other day "man I'd love to see brian david gilbert as a guest on here" and was VERY delighted when I got to this one lol
I actually yelled 'JAN HUS' when the professor asked the question about the important Czech reformer. I love it when I can answer his questions - I give myself jelly beans for being right
I am entirely too invested in the lore heaviness happening this season. I was already obsessed with this show, but this is just making it ten times better. GREAT jobs guys, seriously.
I predict they're not gonna bring in Kate Peterman until the season finale ep so everything can go down between Ryan and the Professor and she'll be there with no idea of anything going on and it'll be amazing
The scenes where he's behind the stage watching the algorithm and where he's looking up at the moon didn't need to be as genuinely cinematically breathtaking as they are !!!
I was so stoked to see BDG was going to be a guest this season and he did not disappoint. 😁 Of course he knows what defenestration means. Lol. It happens to be one of my favorite words.
RANDOM LORE TIMESTAMPS: 26:28 "majesty of theater" instead of magic; 27:23 breaks character; 34:16 ALGO-MATIC awards Brian the win; 35:26 prof reminds Ryan to moisturize with the puppet cream (theory: the cream will turn Ryan into a puppet); 36:25 prof voice doubles/changes; 37:59 can anyone make out what they're saying?
Right!? The song was so good! The lore was so creepy but creepy good! The lighting, the look at the victory algorithm (at last!), the glitching professor, and now we know for a fact that the "professor" is skewing the results in Ryan's favor. For anyone who is interested the official factors that the algorithm takes into account is: 1. Sass 2. Bad Jokes 3. Good Jokes 4. Good Bad Jokes 5. Shameless Groveling aka: Everything but getting the history questions right!
I love that BDG mentioned the old school version of Rumpelstiltskin! It's the version of the story I was first introduced to as a kid! Delightfully dark!
I just rewatched the "aglathim" part, and the Professor TOTALLY has a trophy! It's sitting on top of the printer on the same side of the screen as BDG's face. However, the lotion is on Ryan's side. I do wonder what this could mean for our beef boy... (the "post credits" / behind the scenes stuff was so cool!)
I love this show more than anything but I can’t help not imagine what it’s like for the guests without the visuals and such that are added in post. They’re just sitting there watching a puppet talk for a long ass time which is great but also so funny to think about.
I wish when The Professor was showing how many people they threw out a window that he just chucked the little cardboard puppets over the edge of the stage and onto the floor in front of Ryan and Brian

Fun Fact: I was a Liaison Officer during the recent Prague Summit and one thing I will remeber till the day I die is how the country leaders would stop by Václav Brožka´s art of one of the defenestrations and would just stare at it. I know that some delegations even asked about it later, makes me always wonder what their inner reaction was.
The professor is ABSOLUTELY gearing up to steal Ryan's skin. Think about it; he keeps giving him cream, for soft, well kept flesh. Mark my words, the professor will be walking around in a Ryan flavoured skin suit come the end of the season.
As a Czech person, I found this especially hillarious. It's the stuff you learn about in primary school already and to hear it mentioned here was honestly surreal. Jan Hus is in a UA-cam video! Wild...I love Puppet History. Thank you for including us in as one of your lessons Professor!
I’ve always been fascinated by the difference two letters can make when it comes to defenestration. Fenestration is just a fancy work for windows, but add two letters and you have people flying through the air to their demise.
These after-credits scenes are FIRE!!! GREAT stuff!!!!! This series has always been so fun & creative, but this season has taken it to a whole new level!!!!! Love to everyone at team Watcher, please keep up the AMAZING work!!!!!!!!
I’ve been waiting for BDG to end up in a Watcher video since he moved to LA! So excited! And it feels very appropriate for him to turn up as this show is becoming a psychological horror. Lol.
I have long Covid (2 years now) and am watching this to settle my nerves before my first Neurology appointment to try and figure out what's happening to my body. I know Ryan ans Shane will probably never see this, but I hope they know how much joy they bring.
Hi moondrop, thanks for checking in. Was diagnosed with Functional Dysautonomia. So the good news is that it's not progressive, as for a long time my GP was worried it was rapid onset Parkinsons so that was a huge relief. The bad news is that scientists aren't fully sure what causes it or how to treat it. The working theory linking it to Covid is that some people's immune system reacts to it so severely that their brain permanently shifts closer to fight or flight mode. So my heart randomly beats too fast (which really hurts - think of it as involuntary cardio exercise) and my hands shake, and all that fun stuff. Honestly, the whole experience has been pretty traumatic (especially as I caught it while working in a hospital), but I've genuinely grown so much as a person along the way. I've learned that it's okay to ask for help, that I deserve self-care and self-love irrespective of how 'productive' I've been that day, and I'm far more assertive than I used to be (honestly you kind of HAVE to be to get anywhere in Healthcare), so there's a silver lining. I hope you're all doing well and am sending love for the journey. X
This is the most nervous Puppet History has ever made me, two professors, one stuck in the past maybe trying to send a message (I hope), one giving Ryan cream?, and Ryan trying to find a lamp to wish the Professor back (I really hope)
As a czech person I appreciate this episode! Defenestration seems to be a well remembered historical event among the people, it's pretty funny. Also, great pronounciation, professor! The animation is great this season! I really loved seeing the calculations for the winner!
Amazing! I have a feeling Ryan is going to win every single one this season to make up for all the past ones and also, Shane should absolutely release an album for all the songs he has done so far! there actually really good and catchy!
As someone who studied and was fascinated by the defenestration of Prague that prefaced the 30 years war, this episode of puppet history made me so happy.
So exicited to see the defenestration of Prague! This is one of the events my mom drilled into my head for the heck of it because she’s European history teacher. Fun fact: the window where the 2nd and most famous one happened has a no opening the window sign
The Professor had way too much joy in his voice while explaining the feeling of defenestration. Also, 24:11 I don't know what the hell that is, but I don't like it.
The after-credits is spectacular. I thought the last episode couldn't be topped, but holy fuck the music, the suspence, the tension, the lore...I got the chills! Watcher team is absolutely knocking it out of the park with the animations. Stoked for the rest of the season!
Watching this as someone who actually spent several weeks or even months on this topic in school, I gotta say the delivery was perfect and extremely entertaining. Don’t get me wrong. The nature of defenestration and it starting wars is already funny as is, but the professor, ryan and brian accomplished to actually get me interested and engaged in this topic. (Please don’t hate me for that, we talked so much about the 30 years war, at some point you stop to care how exactly someone was thrown out of a window in the beginning)
Here's my prediction. This Professor is actually the hologram ai from the last Christmas special that somehow gained sentience and needs Ryan for some nefarious reason to become real. The real Professor will probably return in the final episode and save him.
I think this is exactly what’s happening. The digital glitch on the Professor when he checked out the Victory Algorithm (nice to see that the victory algorithm is real whether The Professor fudged the results or not) and the fact that he’s getting subtle details about The Professor’s behavior wrong (“C Dogs” turning into “B Boys” for example) are pretty solid evidence of that. Not sure what the hologram is planning, or if the hologram is even the final boss of this season. Could be the Devil or the Genie planning something with the hologram part of the master plan, but regardless the real professor is going to show up in the season finale to save the day I guarantee it.
ooh i hadn’t considered the hologram thing but you both raise excellent points and this fits with the theory i already had that this isn’t the real Professor. that bit about a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” is one clear clue, and there’s also the fact (maybe a coincidence, but an interesting one) that the first episode of the season featured someone who faked his death (along with being paralyzed) and had multiple aliases, which fits the imposter theme! and the ending of the first episode showing this “Professor” hiding amongst all the Professor dolls is another example of posing as something you aren’t in order to hide in plain sight.
@@EmileeAria413 i also agree about the devil or genie being behind it ultimately. and there’s some irony in the hologram being used as a figurative puppet, since, y’know, it’s posing as a literal puppet.
I think they should have Shane madej as a guest I think he'd really enjoy playing puppet history
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this after momentarily mistaking BDG for Shane.
I think Shane's too busy, can't make it

New theory: The fake professor is the genie impersonating the Professor because Ryan's wish last season was to win. Because of the wish, the genie has to keep the show going without the real professor, and make Ryan win every match (kinda like how genies would sometimes twist people's words when it comes to wishes). this professor is an IMPOSTER there's no way he would forget about c dogs.....it's the best bit in the show!!!
I was thinking that tooo!!! Maybe it's Satan disguising himself as the professor and the real professor is the one in the egg :O
I can't believe that Ryan didn't call this professor out on it. After all it is his favorite bit.
"BARK WITH ME!"
@@haruokinawa4965 OH SHIT MAYBE THE REAL PROFESSOR IS IN THE BOX

as a czech watcher universe fan and a history lover, this is incredible.
Yes!!
I was surprised that no commies were thrown out of windows during the 1989 revolution.
I actually yelled 'JAN HUS' when the professor asked the question about the important Czech reformer. I love it when I can answer his questions - I give myself jelly beans for being right
Shane must've recently learned that "Defenestration" means throwing someone out a window and immediately found a way to incorporate that lol
LMFAOOOO you know what you’re probably damn right
I am entirely too invested in the lore heaviness happening this season. I was already obsessed with this show, but this is just making it ten times better. GREAT jobs guys, seriously.
YES well said! Exactly where I am.
After the season finale, the line, "BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING OUT THE WINDOWWWWWWWWWW" has a whole different emotion attached to it.
I predict they're not gonna bring in Kate Peterman until the season finale ep so everything can go down between Ryan and the Professor and she'll be there with no idea of anything going on and it'll be amazing
She's my favorite guest!
Love kate!
Kate is my favorite recurring guest
This show is an absolute masterpiece. I'm loving the sinister vibes this season.
I don't trust them one little bit anymore, but I'm just happy to see that fuzzy blue face again.
i feel like the season finale will be a professor vs evil demon professor battle
I love how during every single musical number the guest is having a great time and Ryan just dissociates his way through it
LMAO ikr
The funniest part fr
why do i want a film theory on the mayhem of this season
Agreed
THIS
The scenes where he's behind the stage watching the algorithm and where he's looking up at the moon didn't need to be as genuinely cinematically breathtaking as they are !!!
NO ABSOLUTELY SAME
@filmtheory do this
I wish this episode was 2 hours long, BDG is my favorite guest so far
SAME
Anything with BDG instantly gets 10x better
Same! I was extremely excited for this episode and it's glorious
I was so stoked to see BDG was going to be a guest this season and he did not disappoint. 😁 Of course he knows what defenestration means. Lol. It happens to be one of my favorite words.

shoutout to the editors and graphic designers, the "rip our crispy king" had me in tears

I don’t know how you managed to make an adorable fuzzy puppet such a menacing villian(?), but you did it boys.
Oh the Prof is definitely going into his villain arc.
I think Ricky Goldsworth is in on it
@@thewatcher6969 oh is that what you think?
I refuse to believe he's a villain. Not my poor little meow meow!
@@thewatcher6969 WHY WOULD YOU...WHY... WOULD YOU?! (DoN't SUmmOn HIM).
I have never been so captivated by the lore of a series. The intrigue is *killing* me.
37:59 - It’s a line from the Jose Rizal book song: “a crusty old Tyrannosaur will digest your learned body whole.”
My favorite chip is Kona Chips from The Big Island. 🏝️ thick kettle chips seasoned with furikake.
Is anyone gonna talk about how beautiful the music and general vibes of the lore at the end was??
And the animation??? It's incredible
Right!? The song was so good! The lore was so creepy but creepy good! The lighting, the look at the victory algorithm (at last!), the glitching professor, and now we know for a fact that the "professor" is skewing the results in Ryan's favor.
For anyone who is interested the official factors that the algorithm takes into account is:
1. Sass
2. Bad Jokes
3. Good Jokes
4. Good Bad Jokes
5. Shameless Groveling
aka: Everything but getting the history questions right!
The music at the end was 'In Paradisum' from Fauré's Requiem!
Yes, yes me too! I tend to go back to that part cause the music was so good!
I love that BDG mentioned the old school version of Rumpelstiltskin! It's the version of the story I was first introduced to as a kid! Delightfully dark!
Hahaha me too! My grandpa used to read us all the original versions 😅
I remember that one, but my first was that he threw a fit and stamped his feet so hard that he fell into hell!
@@meijo206 So sweet! Grandpa's sure know how to pick the versions of classic fairytales that terrify their grandkids, huh?
@@Veestar88 I am not familiar with that one. Yikes! Curious how you were introduced to it.
@@autumnsfablekeeper4419 I am German and I actually think it's quite normal to hear all the original versions from your grandparents here. Haha
I didn't notice that!
There was also a conical flask next to the moisturizer.
I love this show more than anything but I can’t help not imagine what it’s like for the guests without the visuals and such that are added in post. They’re just sitting there watching a puppet talk for a long ass time which is great but also so funny to think about.
between "RIP our crispy king" and the head enlargement for auhn yus, the editor really woke up and chose violence today, and i love it.
Defenestration is my favorite word. I will forever adore how the English language has a word for throwing someone out of a window.
its actually a word in my language too! my favorite verb EVER
Man I'm loving this new "easter eggs" era of puppet history, all the misteries and stuff
I love the Professor's head growing bigger whenever he says Auhn Jus. And can I just say how much I love that Puppet History has lore now?
Haha.. like Silence of The Lambs “ Put the lotion in the basket or it gets the hose!”
i like this theory better than “ryan turns into a puppet”
I like that it's kinda correct
As a Czech person, I found this especially hillarious. It's the stuff you learn about in primary school already and to hear it mentioned here was honestly surreal. Jan Hus is in a UA-cam video! Wild...I love Puppet History. Thank you for including us in as one of your lessons Professor!
I’ve always been fascinated by the difference two letters can make when it comes to defenestration. Fenestration is just a fancy work for windows, but add two letters and you have people flying through the air to their demise.
How To Make Windows Unfancy : Defenestration 101
"if a flower came to orgasm" was not a phrase I was expecting to hear today 😂
Fragrance descriptions are always wild 😬
And yet it completely sold me. I gotta buy that cologne
We need a Puppet History on Jan Zizka. Dude was a legit badass. Even fought in battle blind and still kicked ass.
I must know more!
He was badass and honourable
The cinematography for this season is incredible. Disney could never
These after-credits scenes are FIRE!!! GREAT stuff!!!!! This series has always been so fun & creative, but this season has taken it to a whole new level!!!!! Love to everyone at team Watcher, please keep up the AMAZING work!!!!!!!!
very apt to have BDG as a guest on a fun internet thing descending into horror
I’ve been waiting for BDG to end up in a Watcher video since he moved to LA! So excited! And it feels very appropriate for him to turn up as this show is becoming a psychological horror. Lol.
What I love the most about this season is that Ryan is perceptive about this Professor, this makes it more exciting
My favorite song yet.
BDG strikes me as an angelic version of whatever species Shane is, like the lighter side of a very weird coin.
‘Defenestration’ is such a beautiful word! Normalise it in everyday conversation.
is tossing people out of windows an everyday topic for you?
It’s my mom’s favorite word.
@@maxwashere. is it not for you⁉️

the lore of this show and the fate of the professor make me more anxious than any horror movie i've ever seen
So you're not worried about Ryan, eh?
That makes two of us. 😈
I have long Covid (2 years now) and am watching this to settle my nerves before my first Neurology appointment to try and figure out what's happening to my body. I know Ryan ans Shane will probably never see this, but I hope they know how much joy they bring.
I hope your appointment went well!
Good luck bro
best of luck, i wish you all the safety and warmth. hope it went well :)
ik you commenred this a while ago but just wanted to say, hope you're doing alright! wish you all the peace and healing
i never thought i would be so intrigued by the lore of a historical puppet professor
I’m so glad that the professor is back and there is definitely nothing wrong with him^^
This is the most nervous Puppet History has ever made me, two professors, one stuck in the past maybe trying to send a message (I hope), one giving Ryan cream?, and Ryan trying to find a lamp to wish the Professor back (I really hope)
"We're all exactly as we seem"
Brian sitting nervously cause he doesnt seem like a man whos his own boss
As a czech person I appreciate this episode! Defenestration seems to be a well remembered historical event among the people, it's pretty funny.
Also, great pronounciation, professor!
The animation is great this season! I really loved seeing the calculations for the winner!
I'm actually obsessed with the production value of this series, you guys are KILLING IT lakdjfakjfakdjfakd I have so much fun with these videos!
Amazing! I have a feeling Ryan is going to win every single one this season to make up for all the past ones and also, Shane should absolutely release an album for all the songs he has done so far! there actually really good and catchy!
They’re on SoundCloud! I’m not sure how quickly this season will be up, but other seasons are on there.
I think he’s gonna win every game because the professor wants him to use the lotion.
Yes a Spotify playlist would be awesome!
BDG works really well with Ryan and Shane i love all the silly little jokes and discussions i cant stop smiling 😭😭😭
BDG is always a joy to watch with anyone. He's like the hot sauce of people. 😂
As someone who studied and was fascinated by the defenestration of Prague that prefaced the 30 years war, this episode of puppet history made me so happy.
So exicited to see the defenestration of Prague! This is one of the events my mom drilled into my head for the heck of it because she’s European history teacher. Fun fact: the window where the 2nd and most famous one happened has a no opening the window sign
so humbled to be in the professors virtual presence again. thank you shane!!
1. This song is now in my #Top5 puppet history songs.
2. Ryan is GLOWING today baby!
The Professor had way too much joy in his voice while explaining the feeling of defenestration. Also, 24:11 I don't know what the hell that is, but I don't like it.
Don't worry about it
@LavLunacy saw what
What did you see!!?? I NEED TO KNOW ahaha
All i see is tree branches v.v
@LavLunacy I’ve look 3 times… I must be blind or something ahah
The after-credits is spectacular. I thought the last episode couldn't be topped, but holy fuck the music, the suspence, the tension, the lore...I got the chills! Watcher team is absolutely knocking it out of the park with the animations. Stoked for the rest of the season!
this episode combines three of my favorite things: history, words that are fun to say, and my favorite internet person Brian David Gilbert
^^^^^^
The production values of this video are absolutely insane hats off to Watcher for doing such a fantastic job👏👏👏👏👏
hats off?? hmm i know how this story ends.. i'll keep my hat firmly on my head, tyvm 🤔
@@lovelace4480 lmfaooooo yes, we have the knowledge from the Professor's teachings.
We shall not take our hats off... when a window is near by. 😂
This is the BEST blend of hilarious, educational, and EXTREMELY creepy! Well done, team!
Brian was an absolute delight on this episode, I hope he will be a guest on this show again or other Watcher's shows!!
Brian David Gilbert being a guest is literally the pinnacle for me
I hope Kate Peterman comes back this season....she's fantastic
Yes, please! She is absolute joy personified.
She might be too busy being guest teacher on Abbott Elementary!
It's not puppet history without a Kate episode
Watching this as someone who actually spent several weeks or even months on this topic in school, I gotta say the delivery was perfect and extremely entertaining. Don’t get me wrong. The nature of defenestration and it starting wars is already funny as is, but the professor, ryan and brian accomplished to actually get me interested and engaged in this topic. (Please don’t hate me for that, we talked so much about the 30 years war, at some point you stop to care how exactly someone was thrown out of a window in the beginning)
"What backs through yonder window shall we break?" made me do a spit take. 5000 points for an A+ Shakespeare joke.
Puppet History songs really need to be on Spotify!
They’re on Soundcloud but I agree!
I love this series. It's a perfect blend of Horrible Histories and a Saw movie.
Agreed. He’s definitely a hologram and the box is the projector.
I think this theory makes a lot of sense, and it would explain the power box. But if he’s a hologram, then why did Ryan here scuttling?
