What beautiful memories. Saddens me so much knowing my grandchildren and grown children really, will never have experienced the feelings and all the passion for life that Tommy James & the Shondells music evoked in us. Impacted lives... those times will never come again. Who will keep it alive as us baby boomers age & pass. It's golden & needs to be passed on to future. For all generations. It was pure magic.
We got to see him in Hiawassee Georgia earlier this month. I had not seen him in person since 1970-71. Great show with the best hits except I never liked Gettin Together much. Mony Mony still get the old geysers up out of their seats! Fun to experience. This show opened exactly like ours did.
Ain't That The Truth. The stage was practically a clam shell's throw from the Pacific Ocean - and the wind was fierce. But, it's a moment I just had to share with you all. Tommy has better quality video of the concert that he's posted on UA-cam. Best part for us was my wife and I wrangling our way to the hidden reception area, to hang with Tommy & the Shondells after the show. They lived only a few miles from me, growing up in North Jersey in the '60s - which was our ticket to meet the band (plus I used to sing in J.J. Jackson's band, who recorded for Roulette's sister label, Calla). So, I got an original Shondell's private phone number out of the deal - and an autographed copy of Tommy's most-excellent book, "Me, The Mob, And The Music". Can you believe Tommy's in his freaking 70s?? Dudes, he sounds like 50 years have never passed!

I saw tommy at the surf ballroom a few years ago that was so cool
Anyone know where I can find a live show where they play “some kind of love”? By far my favorite song, and I only find the 7” version online
Many thanks !!! Unfortunately it was too windy for good sound recordings.
