Tommy James is the songwriter too few of my generation are aware of, and it breaks my heart almost as much as his lack of tour dates near me on the west coast. I would love to thank him for his underrated level of contribution to music as a whole- pop music wouldn't be what it is without him! What a national treasure.

Tommy James lived in my now hometown, Niles, Michigan. He was very private, yet very friendly. I went to several of his performances and there is none better. Definitely, a LEGEND Crimson Clover is in the now!
How is it that Tommy James is not in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame? How could they possibly overlook someone this great who has been eligible since the Hall opened? A few years ago, after they inducted The Zombies, they said that they were complete with the 60's artists. Maybe if he'd have learned to rap, he'd be in there now. Anyway, from what I understand, there is a groundswell of pressure on the hall now to induct Tommy and The Shondells. Hopefully, it is successful but, these days, the RRHOF doesn't even know what rock and roll is.

I would come in from playing Army, Tonka trucks, or Hot-Wheels and my parents in the early 1970's would have this playing out of their Bose speakers spinning on a 33. What a great time to be an American!
Dude I had the Blue dump truck Tonka Truck that the bed that actually raised up and dumped dirt 😁! I had a Hot wheels cars case full of cars 😊. Mom would buy me one once a week. My older sister was getting a new 45 record every week and playing with her hula hoop, My younger brother had that robot from that show "Lost in space" that said "DANGER, DANGER! My father was always getting pissed off every time he stepped on one of my Tinker Toys pieces 😂. Then we had those "Hey, You knocked my Block OFF 😧! Brilliant artist. Raised kids on, now my Grandkids. (Along with Nazareth, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eddie Money, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, U2, ELO, etc., etc.) Passing the greats forward.
For those that grew up in this era, it's important that you pass this music on to your children. And what would make it even more special is to pass down that old muscle car you have been storing for fifty years that you sat in listening to them. Hint hint dad, let's bust out that 70 Z28.
