    Fun fact:
The eldar had an entire Pantheon of gods once. And some Eldar were straight up able to summon their gods into battle.
Then Slaanesh happened. *Slaanesh ate all of them*
    Except for three.
Kaine the war god lives, but is weakened.
Their nature goddess, Isha, is basically in Nurgles Jar. Nurgle saved her because he has a crush on Isha, thinking she enjoys diseases just as much as him, being a nature god. She doesn't. She's being fed diseases daily and gets healed only by her god powers, so she suffers eternally. But she also whispers cures for those diseases to Mortals in hope of defeating Nurgle one day.
Cegoragh is alive and hides from Slaanesh. And their god of the dead, Ynnead, is also in hiding I think.

So something that Bricky forgot to mention about the Craftworld Eldar is that they have these things called Soul Stones. Soul Stones capture an Eldar’s soul and consciousness, preventing it from going into the warp. The soul stones are used in certain pieces of Eldar technology, allowing the dead to continue to serve the living often acting as substitutes for Artificial Intelligences (because most factions in Warhammer don’t like actual AI) or in some cases as psychic powers boosters. Usually the soul stones are connected to something called an Infinity Circuit, which allows the eldar to actively communicate with their dead ancestors stored in the circuit.

    • @DRMalliVT

@@USOtaku013666 I see that’s very interesting but seeing their situation makes sense they found a way to keep their souls from the warp

    • @esbenm6544

Exodite Eldar also has this technology but they refer to it as the World Spirit. In addition to wearing soulstones, which they call spirit sones, they construct World Shrines that form a grid of psychic energy to shield their worlds from the corruption of the warp. They are not as advanced as those of Craftworld Eldar, leaving their homeworld comes with a risk to their souls. But this is not much of an issue since they eschew most advanced technology, including interplanetary travel.
Harlequins don't have this problem. Some even wear what looks like soulstones but able to trap the essence of a demon, keeping them from returning to the warp if their physical form is destroyed, in an ironic reversal of how soulstones work. How strong Cegorach is is hard to say exactly but that their souls are protected, even being able to wear a demon around their necks, something completely unthinkable to other Eldar, means it certainly has power.
Cegorach is not the only Eldar god, just the only one who survived The Fall with most of its power and agency intact. Craftworlds contain a shard of Kaela Mensha Khaine, war god of the ancient Aeldari. In a moment of dire circumstance, the Phoenix Lord of the craftword may absorb this shard, essentially sacrificing themselves, but for a period becoming a living avatar of the bloody-handed god, a near unstoppable force of destruction.
In an arcane feat that would seem completely outlandish to most other races, the Eldar are also in the process of creating a new god, being one of the only races who have some understanding of what a "god" really is. Having been gestated in the Infinity Circuits of craftworlds, this is to become Ynnead, an Aeldari god of the dead reborn, to protect their souls in the warp. And, hopefully, someday destroy She Who Thirsts and end the curse of The Fall.

12:30 Bricky doesn’t explain Nurgles more positive side well.
Nurgle also represents the circle of life. When a being dies, their body rots and decays, but that decay breeds new life, and those new lives also die and rot, and the cycle continues. This is also what he means by stagnation. The stagnation of the circle of life, and that cycle will always continue.

the chaos gods constantly battle each other in the warp in what is called the great game. often khorne is the strongest, then tzeentch, nurgle and lastly slaanesh. but it does change constantly as the placement is chaotic and alliances and betrayal happen constantly and it is somewhat said that slaanesh will eventually be the strongest of the 4. they all use the material world to increase their power in the warp and be stronger in the great game. Khorne is the strongest now as there is so much bloodshed and murder but fears slaanesh will eclipse him as every pursuit to be better in war, or attempt to perfect warfare feeds slaanesh.

The reason the necrons haven't won yet is because they're all petty **sholes. They're immortal and they know they have infinite time to wait for humanity and the Eldar to die off so instead they mess with each other constantly or just get a hobby and find a nice corner of the galaxy to hangout at. Trayzyn the infinite has said the only thing left for immortal beings to fear is the infinite boredom that comes with it. Also, because bricky didnt cover it, the orks have 2 gods called gork and mork. Their imagination power isnt a warp power it comes from those 2 and the orks collectove beliefs form a sort of pseudo warp power in the area that forces their junk to work. A mechanicus tech priest tried picking up an ork chain saw sword in one of the books and the things motor instantly fell off because it wasnt even taped, but then he put the handle in the hand of a dead ork and taped the motor back into place (still not connected) and the chainsaw started again

They don't want to do that, though. They would allow several sentient races to worship them as gods. But the existence of Tyranids and Chaos are still in the way of their eventual apotheosis. These are the only factions they consider a real problem. The Silent King considers that he will once hold the place to humans that is currently occupied by The Emperor, a foregone conclusion. He even spoke directly to Dante, something he doesn't do for his own subjects. While this might have seemed rather confusing to Dante, to The Silent King this was a seed planted that might sprout in hundreds or thousands of years, or however long it takes.

Quick answer to your "How strong are the primarchs?" Question: it depends on the primarch, but generally, they are the second strongest thing in the Imperium, right after the Emperor. So with the Emperor at the top, the Primarchs are second, then custodes, then space marines, then people.
The strongest custodes ever could probably beat the weakest of the primarchs with prep time, but that custodian would be Constantin Valdor and Valdor's... he's a lot. In a faction of Gary Stus (the custodes), Valdor is the Gary Stu of that faction. He is ridiculously powerful as he's written. So take that with a grain of salt lol

The Emperor in his hayday could never have stood a chance against any single chaos god, nowadays he's basically his own lesser Chaos God, unwillingly at that. If you ever get the chance look into the Arks of Omen series, it features Vasstor, a lesser Chaos God of technolology who wants to become equal to the four powers, Big E is about his power level wth the caveat that unlike other warp entities he's still corporeal and bound to the Golden Throne.

    • @LinteirSomeZebra
      @LinteirSomeZebra Місяць тому

      Contrary:
In the Horus Heresy the Emperor could stand and will against Horus who was the Ultimate Champion of all 4 chaos gods who filled him with their power to the point he himself became God.
So Horus during the heresy was functionally the Chaos God in materium, filled by power of all four, because he was the main attacking blade of said gods against the Emperor.
He even resurrected the deceased primarch of Iron Hands just because he wanted and he could.
And Horus still was outmatched by the Emperor who also did weird shenanigans with space making sort of portal-ish room from the Emperor's Palace and Horus'es battleship.
      And etcétera, etcétera.
Also Malchadore Sigillite (I guess it was him) convinced the Emperor to not "ascend to his godpowers" since it could mess with the apocalypse prophecy which Emperor tried to avoid.
And it was before the Emperor was attached to the "golden throne" and was getting prays from trillions of people for 10k years.
So there is a lot of stuff, but it's Warhammer 40k.

What happened to the Krork in order for them to become the Ork was essentially just that their handlers left them. Their evolution was guided by an ancient race, most commonly simply referred to as The Old Ones. They took an interest in many nascent races but with the Krork they were particularly hands-on, molding them into living weapons with an understanding of weapons and warfare ingrained on a genetic level, able to survive and multiply under the harshest conditions. They were to be their shock troops in the ancient conflict with the Necrons and their C'tan masters, sometimes referred to as The War in Heaven.
The Old Ones had been like gods to other sentient races of the galaxy but the C'tan were anathema to the nature of The Old Ones, and eventually they opted to leave the galaxy, abandoning the races they had uplifted. Without the guidance of the The Old Ones, the Krork degenerated, losing what semblance of culture and society they had, retaining only their warlike nature and some of their genetic predisposition for creating and handling weapons.

Orks have powers that work through collectivism that effects the warp. Orks have something called Weirdboyz and theyre like, ork priests. When orks get whipped up into a WAAAGH by a boss,it draws other orks to them, which makes the waaagh energy stronger, which draws more orks in a feedback loop. Once theyve gathered in critical mass, their gestalt psychic powers tend to effect the material realm. A lot of what Bricky says about them is a meme,a lot of it is word of mouth jokes that the community has passed around until people believe it without realizing its not canon. However Red Onez Go Fasta is a rule in the ork codex and if you paint an entire unit red,it does gain bonus movement speed. The ad mec got ahold of an ork shoota once and couldnt figure out how it was supposed to work, they just know that it did,and one of the tech priests suggested the concept of "the power of ork belief" to explain it. Its more accurate to believe that ork science is genetically encode from their ancient history as Krork, and that on a subconscious level the Mek Boyz (their version of inventors) can make things work, even if they dont conciously understand why it works
Also Orks reproduce as a fungus. When they get excited for a fight, they release spores, and eventually the spore will sprout into a new ork. They dont have organs like normal life, you could blow off 50% of an orks head and most of their torso, and it wont stop them from whipping out the shoota and keep fighting. If you manage to kill all the orks in an invasion, there is a 90% chance that in 1-10-100 years, all the orks will regrow and you have a new waaagh to deal with

In response to the necron question, it's a number of factors. After going to sleep, the eldar hunted down any known tomb worlds and blew them up as revenge for the death of the old ones. Some planets were destroyed, either in wars that didn't even involve the necrons,or by natural disasters. Sometimes the imperium or the eldar settled on a tomb world, discovered the necrons in stasis, and destroyed them before they could reawaken. Also, not every necron woke up simultaneously. In fact, their awakening has been so desynched, that only a small percentage of their empire has reawoken. The largest group of necrons is led by Imotek the Storm Lord, and he only commands a hundred or so worlds? The groups that have, are engaged in infighting because warring dynasties are kind of a necron character trait. All the overlords and phaerons wanted to be in charge, and in one instance,a council of necrons halted the reawakening of a tomb world in progress because every new lord wanted to be in charge. Also, their bodies are not perfect. Even the most advanced machine degrades with age,and turns out millions of years in stasis had negative effects on even them. Some overlords have the equivalent of robo-dementia. Some awoke only to realize that most of their court can't be awoken. They're definitely a major threat to sentient life in the galaxy, but they don't all have the same goals either. Some factions believe their necron bodies are perfect, and simply want to wipe out all life and conquer. Some want to find a way to return to mortal bodies, and don't want to wipe out all biological life because they need to be studied,or possibly preserved in case transplanting their consciousness into another body might be necessary. Theres the flayed ones,a faction of necrons cursed with insanity to believe they're still biological, and so hunt for life to flay so they can wear the flesh and try to jam "food" (flesh) into mouths that can't eat.

It doesn't matter how powerful Thor is, Old Age is a concept he could not overcome. It's the same with the Gods of Chaos, Primarchs may be strong, wise , and powerful but all of that is vulnerable to change or death. Primarchs are not immortal or even more powerful than fleets or bombs, but they inspire and lead vast and powerful armies. The Gods of Chaos however lead every soul that fell to their particular calling in all of history.

The orks do have psychic power, but it probably doesn't work quite the way Bricky said (an ork vehicle probably wouldn't run without gas no matter what the orks believed). Instead, it's like psychic "grease" for the warp. Ork vehicles and guns are very crudely put together and wouldn't be very reliable if a human tried to use them, but in the hands of an ork it just works better than it should. They can't just throw a heap of junk together and turn it into a vehicle just through belief. There are tons of memes about ork powers that are hilarous, but not true. One example of this is a story about some imperial guard who ran out of bullets when fighting orks so they just pointed their fingers at orks and yelled bang, then the orks died. Funny, but not accurate.

There is unfortunately no current way to play regular human servants of Chaos on the tabletop at the moment, since support for the already quite beleagured Renegades and Heretics army line ended. Which feels egregious, one of the smaller reasons I don't bother with the game at the moment but it's symptomatic of flavor being drained from the tabletop. Which is itself why I generally find Horus Heresy to be the better game
