Magnus did nothing wrong, he didnt know any better. The Emperor didnt warn any of them about chaos. He knew Magnus was using the warp and teaching his sons to yet the Emperor wouldnt tell Magnus of the danger. None of the primarchs knew about the chaos gods or that warp beings existed. They didnt know you could become possessed by using chaos. Magnus entered into a deal with a chaos god not knowing what was really happening. He only wanted to save his sons. The entire heresy could have been prevented if the Emperor had just warned everyone
tbh the Raven Guard are as nice as the Salamanders but more realistic but still very nice dudes and specially to psykers

So for anyone interested in context a single space marine legion could hold anywhere upwards of about ten thousand individual combat marines excluding anything from combat specialists such as dreadnought pilots or vehicle crews being that the smallest space marine legion was the thousand sons with approximately a thousand combat active marines? However given the combat speciality that made up the thousand sons where not only were they capable marines in and of themselves however since the legion specialized in magic based warfare it would be equivalent to compare them to an army of living nuclear bombs with a personality and were capable of dealing considerable amounts of damage and destruction such as creating lightning storm or set an entire army on fire with just their thoughts along with being able to see into the future along with being able to mind control large groups of people kinda like the Jedi mind control thing but on a much larger scale as well as being able to show their targets their worst fears or nightmares along with turning their own allies into enemies and yet despite being considered one of the weakest, strength wise out of all the space marine legions whilst the ultra marines numbered about 250,000 active combat marines excluding recruits and the like during the crusade.
And so yeh that goes to show just how overpowered 30k impirium was, whereas unlike 40K where most of the battles are fought primarily by the guard or whatever unfortunate planetary defense force ends up delaying the inevitable invasion, vs 30k where
The impirium not only had legions of space marines to call upon but the actual titan legions and combined knightly houses to call upon whereas unlike the more modern impirium where a titan legion may number in the thousands, during the crusade titans would number in the ten thousand margins where even the largest battle such as hellsreach only had access to about 20 titans during the entire battle vs during the crusade a single battle might field upwards of about fifty to a hundred titans and not only that but they also had further access to the legio cybernetica having access to battle-automata which were massive and very powerful war robots in service to the legions along with the solar auxilia who were considered to be the only non augmented human force capable of going toe to toe with a space marine and have a 4% chance of coming out on top vs the 0-1% chance of your average human they were that potent.

Youll notice most of the blown up planets belong to traitor legions. After the heresy,a couple of the loyalist primarchs go on a crusade called The Scouring and hunt any remaining traitors and blow up their planets to prevent them from having somewhere to fall back to.
Curze blew up his own planet because he was mad af that while he was gone,Nostramo descended back to its horrific and criminal behavior.
Caliban,the Dark Angels homeworld,was destroyed during the schism between the Fallen and the loyalisy Angels,and now the Dark Angels use a large chunk of the planet they call The Rock as their home base now.
ALSO Brickys explanation of the Red Thirst/Black Rage is a little wonky here. He covers it better in the Blood Angels podcast episode of Adeptus Ridiculous that he does. The red thirst is just something many of the legion struggles with,but can be controlled with strong will. The black rage is a battle madness that takes over some members of the legion,and only three(?) blood angels have ever come back from the madness
2nd and 11th did something so bad that the Emperor ordered punishing them with Damnatio Memoriae - they get not only killed but any scrap of information, any record about them get wiped out. He even mindwiped memories of other primarchs who are now like "I had two more bothers... Probably... And that's all I remember..."

2 of the legions have been erased from history by the Inquisition and it's deemed heresy to know anything about them.....hence the joke of the 2 Legions being this mishmash of weird images....and considering many of the traitor Legions are still known about should worry you about what those 2 legions did to be erased from history by the Inquisition.....

"If you know anything about Warhammer then you know about this guy" kind of resent that a little bit, 40k has been going far longer than UA-cam, and his videos are entertaining at times but he gets stuff mixed up and wrong all the time.

And each legion has successors for example the Raptors which was one of the successors of the black raven legion they specialized in black ops operations or another example the salamander legion They had a successor that shot water unlike the others

The 2nd and 11th Legions were purged from Imperial Records for unknown crimes against the Emperor. Even the other Primarchs had their memories of the 2nd and 11th legions and their Primarchs erased to preserve the secret.
Out of universe, the 2nd and 11th Legion are meant to be a fill in the blank yourself factions. Warhammer is a table top war game first and foremost and it heavily emphasizes player customization of their armies. Leaving 2 legions unknown gives players the free reign to make stuff up to fill the gaps on their own.
The Alpha Legion is so secretive and confusing that even Tzeentch is totally confused.
Everyone is basically Alpharius, posing as Omegon, who is posing as Alpharius, who thinks he is Omegon but is a sleeper Agent faking Alpharius, who is actually Omegon, who is posing as Alpharius, but that's also a lie in the end.

Bricky's explanation is like listening to a drunk friend try to explain something. He's kind of right, but he's also wrong in many ways. I wouldn't take what he says as 100% cannon. There are much more accurate and lore respectful videos out there. But watching Bricky is a lot of fun. That's how he draws in his viewers. Not his accuracy in lore, but by how much of a clown he can act as.

The Raven Guard are also like the Salamanders in their mannerisms towards civilians but they're more pessimistic and realistic about it because they know the galaxy is screwed up
The wolves in 40k are the same ignoring civilians ok sacrificing them not ok that is not honourable, every person even civilians have the potential to build a great saga. Though the 30k ones are mostly assholes.

The second and eleventh legion were censored from history due to their primarchs being faulty or lost.
Funny you should ask who would win between Blood Angels and World Eaters. The Primarch of the Blood Angels, Sanguinius, spent a lot of time teaching his sons to develop rounded personalities because they had an anger problem. Before he did this, Blood Angels would fly into berserk rages in battles.
There is a lot of evidence that Khorne, the Blood God and God of Slaughter, wanted to corrupt the Blood Angels and have them serve him. But, because Sanguinius had guided his sons away from berserker rages, they never fell.
On the other hand, the World Eaters had degenerated badly from what they were intended to be. By the time they were corrupted to the side of Chaos, the World Eaters were so violent the blood they shed was enough to turn their armour from blue and white to crimson red. However, this also meant that they were a blunt instrument and Angron was dying due to the nails in his head. So Khorne took them instead.
TLDR Khorne tried to corrupt the Blood Angels but couldn't because of their Primarch and so took the World Eaters instead.

@@DRMallii To this day it is still a mystery what they did, we only know that their transgression was so serious as to require the destruction of these legions and the deletion of all information about them

That isn't the only thing buried away, we also know very little about a war that happened during the great crusade called the Rangdan Xenocides.
Lots of people believe the two things are connected, the loss of two Primarchs with one spoken in shame and this xeno empire with little information.
Every time the two lost Primarchs are even HINTED at, the reactions are vitriolic and violent. Rogal Dorn had a moment where he remembered them, he broke down and begged Malcador to push those memories from his mind.
The aftermath of the Randang Xenocides also changed a lot for the imperium, multiple human orginizations suffered disastrous losses, several titan legions wiped out, one legion nearly got wiped out and the Dark Angels lost more than half their legion going from largest to smallest. Mortarion himself ennacted emergency recruitment for his legion, recruiting people from outside his home planet, something he NEVER did on principle.
This war was so bad, veteran marines of it were deemed unfit for field duty.
