    Very useful video. Had this playing while fixing the iPad and just paused it every so often to work on the fixing. As others have said, it’s a great length without the need for going into too much detail. Thanks!

    This was super easy to follow. My only issues were user issues. I misjudged my depth on the sides when prying so there’s a scratch on my lcd. I touched the lcd at the top on accident. After getting everything reconnected, I forgot to make sure the home button ribbon was flush so the bottom corner wouldn’t close all the way. I redid the steps and had to restart the iPad. It’s working perfectly now

    I was 95% done, already glueing up a new glass and... it didn't fit well. That rectangular metal thing near the button didn't sit in the right place and I started removing glass carefully to check what's wrong. But it got cured pretty well already and... cracked. I'm extremely angry. Ordering a new glass now.

Check out 1:28 and 4:44. Check if your iPad screen had that ring or you’d have to have it from the other screen. If you can’t find it, what I do is replicate it on the screen with thin double side tap you see me using. Let me know how it goes !

      @@fixitwireless. Hey thanks so much for this info, so helpful. I may have missed that ring. I did use double-stick in those areas but I guess it wasn't sufficient. I found out my husband had device coverage on our ATT plan so I just sent it in and they ended up fixing it (the screen I used had spotty responsiveness too) so this saved some time and money - fixing not only the button but giving me a fresh screen. But yeah otherwise I would have done this and I'm sure it would have fixed the issue. Anyway thanks again, very good & helpful info!

      Use alcohol to clean the Power button, or disconnect the power by unscrew the screw on the board pressing it down to the battery

    You tell us to remove the battery cover screw but not to prize the battery away. I only spotted that you had done this later in the video. I wonder how many people blew their iPads because of this ?

    How you know which on is broken either LCD or touch screen glass ?
    What is the best price of each ?

    • @jacobduvall1813
      @jacobduvall1813 2 роки тому +3

      If the lcd was broken there could most likely be weird colors or lines on the screen. If there are just cracks on the outer part of the screen then its the screen glass.

    Anyone have any issues with the screen only 2/3 working? Like the very top part by the camera works for like a quarter of an inch, then about 3 in of nothing, then the bottom works? Any idea how to fix this?

    disconnecting the battery was not well explained. remving lcd connector without removing battery caused spark and lcd would not turn on anymore.
