    Apple cider vinegar got rid of my cat's ear mites quickly.I buy turmeric root and it is great.Feeling sick or have allergies try a hot cup of turmeric,ginger and cayenne with some honey.the organic shop sells them for 7$ for 2oz.

    Our vet has us give our dogs honey daily in their breakfast and has us give them minced garlic in their dinner every night to help ward off mosquitoes which carry heartworm. We live in Tx so mosquitoes r bad here. Our dogs have nvr had heartworm giving them garlic which has none of the bad side effects that heartworm meds can have.

      @Michelle.05 Рік тому +2

      Lori, how much do your dogs weigh and how much garlic do you give them? We're in south Mississippi and im wanting to get our last 2 babies off heartworm preventive.
      Also, is there a connection to the honey in the morning and garlic in the evening?

    • @loricawley54
      @loricawley54 Рік тому +8

      @@Michelle.05 We have three dogs which u can see in my profile pic. Thor, our rottie, weighs 145lbs, and he’s about to be 5 yrs old next month. Abbi, our pittie, weighs 55lbs, and is approx 8. Princess, our rhodesian ridgeback mix weighs, 64lbs, and is also approx 8. Our vet has us mince 1/8 tsp of fresh garlic using a garlic press/20lbs of body weight and let it sit and oxidize for at least 10 mins before adding to their food. We’ve had Thor since he was a 12 week old puppy, and we’ve had Abbi and Princess for the last 4 yrs since adopting them. None of them have ever tested positive for heartworm. There is no connection between the honey and the garlic. We give them honey bc of all it’s benefits, esp allergies, but the honey needs to be locally harvested for them to get the maximum allergy benefits bc the bees pollinate local flora where our pets r living. We get our locally harvested honey from a farmer’s market when they’re having them in our area or the supplier also sells to a local health food/vitamin store, and we get it from there when there’s no farmer’s markets being held. Hope this helps, and if u have any more questions, pls feel free to ask.

      Also forgot to say to everyone that the garlic will eliminate ticks and fleas as well. Our dogs live inside, but they nvr have ticks or fleas when they come in from going potty. I also garden and have yet to see a tick in our yard bc the dogs r on garlic which is then eliminated in the yard. We pick up poop daily so we keep a clean yard, but it still seems to keep the ticks out. We used to use sulphur pellets (before we knew about giving the dogs garlic) which is also non-toxic to dogs, but the garlic is def a cheaper and more effective option, at least for us.

    Thanks Dr. Jones. I make my Lola home made dog food, and have been adding turmeric and ginger, but not garlic because of a fear factor to add it. I have a large pot on the stove right now, and Lola will be enjoying some garlic with her food. Glad you cleared this up!

    Thank you SO very much for putting this information out there. I dont know why vet visits and fees are so exorbitant and although the company of our sentient animal friends is the BEST thing for us especially for single people- an $80 examination fee and 2 basic tests will run me $500-600!!! Who can do this these days!!??? PLUS, both my feline babies now have developped kidney issues and to be perfectly honest, short of one of them spitting up blood or stopping g to urine ate altogether, I CAN'T AFFORD to bring them to the vet!! And get this, my last experience at the last vet I visited was a nightmare - I had told the receptionist/assistant that her brusque tone and harsh manner was making feel very unc9mfortable and do you know what she replied..... " would you like me to be friendlier?"...OMG - I sh*t you not!!! I was so stunned, that all I could honestly reply was that I didn'tcare how I was treated, as long as my kids were well taken care of. .. But I shouldn'thave had to deal with that - should I??? (I live in Vancouver BC where the "warm and fuzzies" do not prevail where interpersonal relations are concerned (unlike Montreal or Toronto), but this- had me floored!!! Of course, I'm not going to give any more of my money to that practice! I am so very discouraged but at least, I know ur here 2 help ;) Best. M

    Wow. I have all that and use it on myself and horses. Turmeric ( sadly) is often cut with yellow lead. After some research, i tried it on my elderly pony ( He has an inflammatory eye disease), and he seemed to strain to urinate. It was certified organic and supposedly lab tested for heavy metals.I give him coconut oil in his feed. My dogs sit by and always get a little as I mix it. That helps with his arthritis and digestion.( Sorry,this is about dogs) I stopped treatment and issue stopped. Thanks Dr. Your the best. Tula is such a good girl.👍😄

    I truly love your channel. I have been following you for about 10 yrs now, and you have been a game changer in the well-being of my pets.
    Recently, my cat got bit on the eye by a dog, and i refused to put him on opiods bcs the injury wasn't so severe and the opuods would have prolonged his healing or possibly worsen his condition since he has a preexisting asthmatic condition and he's older. Plus, the opiods must be heavy on the liver and kidneys.
    It was my choice, however; the nurse at the Vet flat out lied to me when I asked her if Buprenorphine was a narcotic; she said: "no", she also said it would not cause constipation.
    I checked the side effects of buprenorphune, and it does cause constipation as well as breathing issues.
    He is slowly healing and doing so much better already, and I am so grateful I refused to give him opiods.
    Thanks for all your information; it had educated me towards a more holistic level.

    Hello Doc, Do you have any advice for giardia? I brought home a newborn 10 week old German Shepherd for Christmas, soon as I could get a appointment with our veterinarian, and had the puppy in for his vaccine regiment to begin, I also included a fecal sample, came back positive with Giardia, call the breeder, but you can guess how that went, anyway started medicating the dog, but I also questioned the vet. Well, I have the older German shepherd five year old, female that really been close together. Would it not be wise to medicate both they said it should not be necessary at that time. Well, guess what after seven days of medication and seven days after that collected another fecal sample and included one from the five year old both samples are still showing positive, but make sure the angry is that I knew I should have been medicating both dogs the first time around, now I’m re-medicate the newborn puppy for the second time and my older one for the first time,

    Lots of good suggestions except for the garlic. Do not give garlic to a dog. It kills off thier red blood cells causing a lack of oxygen to the main organs. In small doses the body usually recovers but not without some damage. It's just you don't see the damage. Usually the pet will sleep more as it recovers the lost cells. In larger doses the lack of oxygen to the main organs causes organ failure and ultimately suffocation as the lungs shut down. My beautiful Eba died from this after eating garlic. Someone had told me it was ok in small doses. But she still died.

      Just because you cannot see the garlic doing the damage to your dog', loss of red blood cells causes organs damage. It's a fact. , it does not mean it's not occuring if your dog seems unafected. Check the science. While it affects different dogs differently why take the risk and why create a premature death to your loved one when they could have lived a much longer life had you just avoided it. . It's been proven in the study's and even ASPCA list it in their toxic to dogs warnings. There are lots of great natural products for killing fleas ticks and worms that are safe. Just use food grade diatomaceous -eatth. :-)

    To save hassle with fresh garlic, I sprinkle a small amount of dried garlic granules on my dog's food daily and they have glossy coats.

    My cat just got diagnosed with polycythemia Vera. But I can’t afford all of the blood treatment. I’m going to keep going with the hydroxyurea but is there any sort of at home treatments to try and help? I can’t find much online about it since it’s so rare in cats

      Lipomas are benign fatty lesions - that is, simply put, a group/ conglomerate of various sizes fat cells. Unless they are causing difficulty in movement it’s no problem to leave them 🕊

      CBD oil is great for all of their organs and I know for cats, the vets say get them off of dry kibble. And not everyone agrees on the limiting protein part, some say they need the protein, but make sure it's good quality.

    Is there anything that can be done for a cat that continues to spray after being neutered? I hate to give him up but if you don’t catch him in the act, you find it later & it’s ruining my house. 10 cats, 2 dogs. I use to foster pre-Covid and many stayed here. The cats get along ok so I don’t think it’s stress. Do you think cat pheromones would help? He’s a lilac or lavender big furry dude and so affectionate. But the spraying! Maybe he’d like it better in a home with less animals? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
