I used to have garlic chives in my garden and my cat chose to eat some every day for years. Her idea! A few blades of grass and a few garlic-chives a day, keeps the vet away 🤣 (she has never needed a vet for any illness)
    She's nearly 20 now
    Thanks for all you do
    Take care and GBY

I worked for a veterinarian 40 years ago and he had us make dog food for all of the dogs in our care. We always put garlic in the food we made. That was back when dogs lived longer. He didn’t feed dogs store purchased food. He went to the butcher’s every day and brought back meat and suet for the mix we made.

What do you mean “that was back when dogs lived longer”?
I cant find any research even remotely related to that claim.
If anything, with medical advancement and readily available commercial grade pet food, average life expectancy of pets have been increasing, like human.
That’s the wildest claim i’ve ever read and no one even question it.

If your pet has CA specifically mast cell tumors, PLEASE check out Dr. Jones fenbendazole protocol...it worked to eradicate my pups GOLF BALL sized tumor! She had a toe removed AND a rectal tumor removed prior, that grew again. We used Dr J's protocol and after 2 months the tumor was GONE and still IS GONE 4 mo later! She is on a low dose use since and is fine - blood work good. We also used turkey tail and Dr Jones suggested home made diet. Quercetin, cbd, etc. I am positive she would not have made it! Your pet would have nothing to lose..please research his website and don't give up! He helped give us a healthy pup again! 😍🙏♥️

I've fed garlic for over 40 yrs in my cats and dogs food . Plus they always got my leftovers and I love garlic in every thing. None of my babies have ever had bad reactions to it, in fact one girl Abbey who is now nearly 23 years old only ever saw a vet once when I found her as a wee baby to be checked and have initial shots, then never again till a month ago for a quick check over and all was fine.

I also stopped feeding any kind of vegetables or fruits to my dogs, because it seemed to still cause some allergies and bowel problems. Every once in a while I feed my dogs a piece of garlic, not the whole clove for pest control…oh and the Japanese are plain evil for feeding dogs 25 garlic bulbs a day.

Yup. It was common knowledge before the “experts” started pushing $ drugs $ and demonizing the 1,000’s of years of known natural remedies.
In the 1990’s I knew an elderly old man who added a small amount of garlic to his dogs food daily to keep fleas away. Whether it worked for fleas or not I don’t know, but I do know his dog, Sandy, lived to be 17 years old which is nearly unheard of today.
Oh and we didn’t vaccinate back then like today. Nobody took their dogs to the vet unless something catastrophic occurred like hit by a car or broken bone. Vets were not on every corner back then. You had to drive 15-20 minutes to get to the vet. Today there is 8-10 vet offices within a 15-20 minute drive from my house.
When I googled garlic to repel fleas on dogs, here is the first thing that popped up
“To conclude, the claim that garlic can prevent fleas is largely unfounded. Your best bet against these pesky parasites is vet-prescribed medication.”
      And there you go!

There was a book, published decades ago: The Complete Herbal Handbook for The Dog, by Juliet Bairacli Levy. She went to live with gypsies and this book was amazing. I bought it at a health food store in 1971. Juliet used garlic for many reasons, but one such remedy was for deworming. You fasted the dog for 3 days, on honey and water, then made a mixture of slippery elm, chopped garlic... The slippery elm was to coat the stomach lining from the hungry worms. Our dogs pooped loads of worms after her mixture. Then we broke the fast with oatmeal soaked in water and some additional herbs. The book is now in paperback and includes cats.

50 years ago, in Louisiana, I fed our dogs garlic to stop them from getting fleas and ticks. IT WORKED! I still give them raw and cooked garlic for their general health. That being said, I used to grow grapes. My dogs loved them, picking the ones at their level, all day. NOW, however, we are seeing where one raisin or one grape can KILL a dog. Keep up on what works and what doesn't. Fortunately, we have DR JONES to guide us in the right direction, naturally, and healthily.

Omg, this is amazing to learn!!! Edit to add: let the garlic sit for 10 mins after chopping it, or the allicin won't work as good!
So earlier this year, my cat had a spot she chewed on her back that wasn't healing and I had used witch hazel & coconut oil to no avail. I was impressed with the garlic oil I made for an earache & then used again on an infected finger, so I grabbed it to put on my cat's back hoping it would help. I happened to be chatting with a friend at the time and she said don't you know garlic is toxic to cats? So of course I googled it & saw that it said it was "very toxic" and immediately in a panic and frenzy, started bathing my cat to get it off of her...I worried all night over that! So that poor baby didn't need all that drama after all...and neither did I. Smh, I'm so sick of the internet lies sponsored by big pharma. And I also want to give you a shoutout for the anti-itch vid...I'm using the coconut oil, aloe & licorice drops mix you recommended & it is working like a charm!!! THANK YOU, DR. JONES. @@dianazaalberg1993 if you look up on his channel under the "shorts" videos, there are two that were shared recently for itching pets! The recipe that I'm using of his is 1 tbsp of coconut oil, 1 tbsp of aloe vera and 2 MLS of licorice root drops mixed up & just rub it in on the itchy spots. I have to put a collar on her neck after I apply it for a couple hours so she will leave it alone but once it's absorbed, I'll take the collar off and she doesn't bother licking or scratching it!

I have used it for all my giant breed dogs for over 18 years of having dogs and they remained healthy, flea and tick free. They never became anemic . The study done in Japan was actually done by giving dogs a huge amount of cloves each day for months. No dog would ever be given that amount of garlic ever normally . I've been feeding my dogs raw garlic for more than 35 years. I learned to homecook dog food and progressed to raw meat and bones (BARF diet) after my vet had nothing else to offer for severe skin issues except euthanizing her. That said, too much of anything is a bad idea. We lived in central Florida at the time. I give them garlic year round to keep them flea free. Only one time in the last 35 years were the fleas (in the midwest) so bad that I had to choose to use a topical treatment. I read up on that and quickly realized I didn't need to use a lot and that the product was toxic and poisonous. Hell of a trade off! One scant application and done! I keep them on garlic year round so their blood always repels repels fleas. Kudos to the doc for making this info known.

Growing up we always had at least 4 very active dogs. We lived on 11 acres and they ran around all day long. We didn’t feed them can food often. In fact they didn’t like can food much and often gave them gas. You should have seen the disappointment on their faces when they saw it but they ate it anyway but not as fast as leftovers. They ate leftover meat, gravy, juices from dinner, vegetables, etc. mixed with dry food. Everything had garlic and onions in it. It never sickened them. It did deter ticks, fleas and mosquitoes that we had plenty of. We did worm them twice a year, but I believe it also deterred tapeworms. They got can food if we had things like kielbasa, sauerkraut, hot dogs or acidic foods. What did sicken them were flea collars. I never heard of garlic, onions, chocolate (we didn’t feed them candy anyway) being bad for dogs until about 10 years ago. We raised 11 dogs over my lifetime and they were fine with onions and garlic. They all died of old age.

Glad to see you cover this, as i've read conflicting information too. Only had one negative instance with giving my dog garlic. I popped a bag of popcorn and put WAY too much garlic powder on it (even i thought it was pretty strong) and shared it with my dog. He scarfed it too, but about 10 minutes later barfed it all up! Since then, he's been a little adverse to the smell, but the small amounts for regular cooking haven't caused further issues. Good to hear the old advice is still good, and i didn't know it works against yeast and bacteria too. Thank you!

@@cynthiathomas5754 i don't think so, it was the garlic powder. Too much, tasted like pepper almost to me. Just too much for a puppy's stomache (he was about 1yr then).
