The only thing I disagree with is the part about rocksteady using Kevin’s voice with ai, even Rockbottom is afraid to go that low. Also Roger Craig smith reposted a tweet before quickly removing it so it’s probably gonna be him since this looks like this is set in between origins and asylum.

Meta is paying for it. That's why. If not for Meta you wouldn't be getting an Arkham game at all. So far every First Party game Meta has released was a Masterpiece and their latest release was a 90+ on Metacritic and 10/10 from IGN. Be happy it's not going to be another Suicide Squad and that It will at least be good.

I got whiplash from the range of emotions I had upon seeing this. At first, I let out an audible “OOOH DAMN!” that scared my bird off of my shoulder, watched the trailer, and immediately lost any and all interest the second I saw Meta was attached to this. My mood went from a 10 to a negative 43 in the span of a minute and a half.
Imagine in an alternate world, instead of this, we get
“Batman: Beyond Arkham”
or
“Red Hood: Retribution”

Vr has come a long way since that last arkham vr game which was just an hour tech demo. This is gonna be an actual game. Its being made by the people that made ironman vr which was really good and i have hope in this. Vr isnt stuck in 2016 anymore. Its come a long way. Certainly not perfect but way way better than it did 8 years ago.

I’d also like to see him fighting the militia in Arkham Asylum when he was trying to free Batman.
2:23, They had the chance to make something along the lines of the Bat-Family fighting Jason to stop his killing spree and make him pay for his part in the Arkham Knight Incident and the deaths it caused, but then being forced to team up with him to fight Deathstroke, The League Of Assassins, The Court Of Owls or perhaps another character hinted at in Arkham Asylum, Prometheus, who is described as the exact someone with Batman’s abilities and similar equipment, but who treats police as criminals.
In general, it would have been more interesting to see the Bat-Family clash with other vigilantes (or individuals in in power like the Court) trying to impose their own versions of justice and fighting over which is the correct way to handle a corrupt place like Gotham.
But instead, we got Gotham Knights, which has some fun elements like the dynamics between the core four characters, but lacks substance as a story is more about grinding to level up than much else.

The worst part is that this setting itself without VR could have been good
batman going after ratcatcher in a regular arkham game where parts of the city are filled with rats and you have to fly (or glide) through there and find a way to remove the rats and stuff. like imagine you are in a part of gotham and later it is filled with rats and all the criminals are now dead and the only thing left are the skeletons because the rats ate them
in a horror setting without crane with some world war z scenes where the rats climb on top of eachother to create a massive pile of rats to get batman if you're not flying high enough they could even make it make sense let's just say ratcatcher found fear toxin or titan so the rats are not scared by batman and this is the only way the "fear batman" can be defeated because all the other main bad guys don't know how to defeat fear toxin batman
you could also have a part where the rats come out of toilets through the sewers inside buildings and maybe take out gcpd and batman has to get out of the building before they eat him in a batman runs towards the camera and all you see are 1000s of rats getting closer and closer before batman just makes it out before they get to him
and maybe batman and alfred have to use the batwing to hide out in Staggs airship or something like that where the rats can't get to them

This game is also apparently going to be an Arkham Origins sequel, and I'm been wanting Arkham Origins sequels to be made for many years now (to fill in the gaps between Origins and Asylum), but it being VR is not what I expected.

Actually, I just remembered something that my old friend from college reminded me of. The game we were supposed to get before gotham knights, originally it was supposed to be an arkham origins sequel set with batman and robin (dick grayson) taking on the court of owls, while Batman deals with the court as well as training dick. The overwhelming presence of the court closing in, as well as keeping dick safe and to not end up like him. I do believe since in the comics Dick was originally supposed to be the next talon for (spolier reasons of comics), it would have focused on that aspect, as Dick struggled to choose between batman and the court. Joker was supposed to appear but instead of being the main villain(like he always is) he was actually going to help batman and robin or screw them over for his own reasons/chaos, but if he felt like it he would aid you because the court is a bigger threat and they want to bring order, while he wants to bring chaos. The game was supposed to be free roam Gotham city, but you choose between batman and robin and co op, you and a friend being the dynamic duo, I think dick was supposed to even become nightwing by the games end and since barbara was introduced in arkham origins helping out as a teenager a sequel where she could become batgirl would have been interesting to see. Like how did this original concept get twisted into gotham knights i am genuinely curious how.

It’s actually very likely that Meta payed them to allow the development of this game, seeing as the studio creating the game isn’t Rocksteady or WB Games Montreal, but instead a company owned by Meta which created Iron Man VR. So they aren’t allergic to money if they’re getting payed for the creation of this product, which would be similar to how Meta treated Ubisoft with the Assassin’s Creed game, in which the entire game was Meta funded and Ubisoft was payed for its development.
Edit: Kevin Conroy is not used whatsoever in this game. The Origins voice actor is used and it’s a sequel to Origins.
Watch them _still_ find a way to make this live service. I faithfully await this horrible turn of events so I can laugh my ass of later.
