It made a comeback when omni man came out, only to disappear once more. However, street fighter and tekken are still going strong in my social media feed and conversations. The last time I played mk was mk x, but it's a bit disappointing to see where the series is currently at its lowest point.

I can understand Shao Khan being preorder in MK11 since you couldn't play as him in the story mode, at least not until the aftermath dlc. But playing as Shang Tsung in this game's story but not being able to in the main roster is just stupid. The saddest part about Mortal Kombat 1 is the klassic umk3 and 3D era skins though I do like the skins but they add unnecessary parts for the designs and not making them look accurate. Nitara’s voice is still not fixed and they not letting Megan Fox put redo the voices and act and not giving us an option to change her voice with Megan’s voice or Christina Vee’s voice who do the grunts and yells for the character. Honestly they should’ve had Christina Vee voiced Nitara instead of having Megan Fox voice the character.

I liked when mortal kombat was unhinged. They try focusing on making mileena more human when that's what made her character unique and bizarre, now they're trying to soften the story. Edginess isn't always bad.

honestly the only way to save the game now is wait out for homeland and they drop like 2 game modes (like tag team or something better then the shitty towers we got) like they have good concepts to use literally in the story mode like the combination of 2 characters. and if they add something like tag team to other game modes like tag team towers and 2v2 maybe even in towers they can use previous seasons bosses to the towers or idk implement them in other places besides the shitty invasion mode you would have more people wanting to play. like they have the tools to make the game great but they are so focus on invasion that they put all there eggs in one basket that when they fuck up aint no one gonna play the game till something actually interesting happens
To play devils advocate, I think the reason they didn't have this seasons main enemy be Titan Havik is because they're saving him for the Story DLC that has already been datamined, so they scrapped him last minute and replaced him with Mileena. But hey thats just a theory
I was so disappointed with this game when it released. The game has no modes, Invasion mode at release was an extreme chore to play. Even just moving your character on the map was so tedious and slow. The modifiers in battles are more obnoxious in towers, and you get less rewards. The medallion system is extremely unbalanced. Once you got the fart medallion there was never a reason to use anything else as it just trivialized all the other content. Modifiers suddenly didn't matter, and neither did you actually playing the game. The story mode granted was entertaining to play, but I hate the character flip they did with Mileena, hated her new mouth design, and hated that they hooked her up with the second ugliest MK female character in the franchise. Li Mei is RIGHT THERE. I really don't understand how you go from MKX Mileena, to MK11 and now this. MKX Mileena was peek design for her, in my opinion. Her new mouth design was probably controversial for some, but I loved it, it made a bit more sense functionally, and looked amazing; and then we never seen it again. So disappointing. I hate the new towers in general, which don't even tell you what rewards you're getting. MKX and MK11 rotating tower system was just so much better, and it's unfortunate because you can tell a lot of people put a lot of effort designing this Invasion system because the maps and general presentation looks great; but playing it as actual ass. Just give us back the old rotating towers format, with clear and plentiful rewards, dial back some of the dumb modifiers. Maybe I'll even consider selling the fart medallion so that I can actually play the content, but to be honest since I finished Scorpion's invasion, I've not picked the game up and everything I've heard about the game so far has made me glad I've never gone back.
I did think it was weird that the color variants of the outfits was different from the pink and purple that mileena usually wears… until I got to 3:08… yeah they screwed that one up
