Kia did a great job with this car. I like the color of this one as well.
The matte silver is quite striking. What's not so awesome is the care of this type of paint. Hand wash only, can't be used in an automatic car wash.

Such a stylish matte Grey colour. Grey tone in appearance, silver tone under sunlight... looks better than those Model 3. I'm going to buy this exact model or the sister Genesis GV60.
Sister car is actually the Hyundai Ioniq 5. GV60 shares a lot with this and the Ioniq, but is considered a class above and will be much pricier.

It’s been really hard for me to shake my prejudices with Kia and Hyundai based on the cheap and unreliable products they were putting out in the 90s and early 2000s, but they are gonna blow past their Japanese, German, and American competitors if they keep this up. They have improved a lot the last few years.

Do they last longer like Toyota and Honda? If it can surpass 15plus years easily like the Japanese brands, I'll buy it in a heartbeat .
The fact that Kia and Hyundai have that 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty since like around 2012 or so (?) means they stand by their stuff in the modern era. I had 2013 Kia Optima EX (thing was awesome with heated and vented leather, moon roof, heated steering wheel, back row had heated seats... Buddies in BMWs and Audi couldn't believe it!), Then a EX 2016 Sorento and now a 2022 Telluride. Kia is very legit these days. And their Georgia plant in the US is top notch, the videos coming out of there are incredible with happy employees putting together awesome US cars (designed in Cali, manufactured in Georgia).
@@naturesounds2772 my forte is going on 13yrs bud and never had a major problem at all. Only maintenance has been done to it. Trust me if you take care of your car it will take care of you no matter what brand it is

I'm a master Kia technitian, and I have been loving kia more and more. Usually when you ask a tech about the manufacturer they work for, they give you bad news, but i can't. I'm looking to potentially get an ev6 as my daily driver. Kia really has been stepping it up compared to many of the other manufacturers! Thank you for this review! I can't wait until one gets loaded off the truck. Any day now I hope!
What are your thoughts on the reliability and longevity of Kia and Hyundai?

Hey, did you end up getting the ev6? How is the 200 mile range? Is the short range really as bad as everyone makes it out to be?
The rwd long range models have 312 miles

You can find Kia dealers that don’t mark up, Ford is really awful. I’d stay away from them.

The question is how well will it hold its range compared to Tesla or other EVs? We know Tesla's EPA numbers are way off compared to reality. And how much will it improve the car like Tesla does with over the air updates! We know Ford is way behind on any meaningful OTAs. But looks like it will win on price and ultimately that price point may be the bigger game changer here. Well as long the Federal Tax Credits are around - this line of Kia oughta sell like hot cakes.

Wait you mentioned how it lights up at night on the interior. Well give us a night view video to give a better idea. Also how bright head lights are. Day and Night experiences driving are definitely two different worlds.

EV vehicles uses more tires compare to gas vehicles.
@@Evangel-z7m 😂 That wouldn’t surprise me given the amount of torque they have. I’m not convinced they are actually going to be an environmental net positive. Either way, I will only get one if I have no other choice than to do so. I love a nice exhaust note too much.
@@micahgunnell You are right about the realistic environmental net positive.To make EV's batteries they have to really dig inside of mines to obtain some components such as: lithium, cobalt, manganese, nickel, and graphite.And these are just the primary components for an EV.

@@restlessyouthproductions correct, Kia sold about 13,500 last year. They sold about 18k in 2018 and about 12-13k since.
I purchased a 2018 GT2 back in 2019 at a nice discount.

Love it! I WAS looking a a Model 3 Performance, but this makes the Model 3 look 'old school'. And I'm with you that I never could get past having all the info put on an ipad stuck to the center of the dash. Driver info should be in front of the THE DRIVER. :)

The only thing with the model 3 is the tech inside the car is streets ahead and updatable over the air. Not a fan of any of this but as far as tech goes Tesla wins hands down.

Definitely a great job that Kia did, though I'm more partial to the Ioniq 5. Speaking of which, Joe was prowling the area around Irvine (My alma mater is right by there), I recognized all the roads Joe drove and even the park (I lived right by it). Definitely, Orange County is way different from Florida, we don't have gators popping out of the water.
I have the rear wheel drive version, it is brilliant we just need more investment in the charging infrastructure in the UK.

$58k+ for my Kia??? I told myself with my last Kia, that I would never buy another Kia. But, I saw this car in-person and I was wowed! It looks amazing! 800V architecture. So many very positive reviews. I'm sold! Picking up my Red AWD GT line in 2 more days!

Tesla has been building cars for 10 years now and still can't overcome quality control issues: panel fit, paint blemishes, etc. ... now the other established car manufacturers are entering the market, Tesla better watch out now

This is Badass and looks great! I would def want the GT version. However, knowing KIA's hot ones, the price for all versions of this vehicle will be much higher than the normal starting price. Might need to wait a while for that to drop.

KIA evolution is much better than Toyota and Honda. But I still choose Toyota and Honda over KIA.

I'm in Canada. I just seen the first one in person in London, Ontario, at a dealer. It was a GT line in red, and it looked hot! I'm totally thinking of going electric, since our gas is getting crazy expensive. I'm thinking of getting one, and they're much better looking than the Ionic 5. It might be 60 k for price, but it would be worth it.

As an early adopter to EV vehicles here in Illinois I can say this. The Kia has a lot of strong points for sure. My personal tastes lean more for the Hyundai Ioniq 5. There are features I like better in the Kia over the Hyundai, the black dash, curved display, center console. Not sure how well that suede interior will hold up long term. The Ioniq 5 style fits me better, Seats with the recliner style leg support, buttons on lower dash controls instead of passive touch, and the more comfort tuned suspension over sport tuned Kia. All that said the pricing is just too high, especially when here in Illinois they tack on $5000 just because they can. When the hype dies down and they can get prices saner I will purchase the Ioniq 5, unless something more interesting comes down the pipeline. People around here won't spend more for an EV than a fuel car because the fear is still there. The infrastructure is not in place to overcome that fear. Interesting times ahead for sure.

If I had to guess this will run around 50-53k similar to the ID4 and the GT will be around 58-60k. Before all the state and Fed incentives

I have a deposit on the GT and now dealership wants to charge a premium because of market demand. Tesla does not do this. No thanks.

That car weighs 4600 lbs, no you would not want 35 sidewalls on that car. The engineers have already factored all of that in.
The local Kia dealership is charging $14,000 “market adjustment” over MSRP, plus a $999 dealer service fee! I wish them luck

Home to KIA USA HQ and city with street speed limits of 50 to 55 MPH on most of main streets. Yes, city streets.
City with the greatest number of electric vehicle and battery tech. companies in USA.
The Koreans are going to be serious competition for Tesla, as they have batteries from several companies in country, and they are applying some nice styling to their vehicles. Kia and Hyundai will both be completely sold out on the the EV6/Ionic models, as they just didn't build a big enough factory. They will end up averaging 50k, so this is just a little too expensive for the mass-market, but given their production limitations, it won't matter.
The EV market is going to be a brutal market battle, because all EV's have incredible acceleration.

My dude...35 series sidewall on a 4500# vehicle? The Civic Type R uses a 30 series, and I cannot tell you how many of my friends have eaten tires and rims constantly on potholes all around the country. I personally wished they had gone with a 50.

The Android Auto/Car Play aren't wireless yet it has a wireless charging mat by the arm rest. So you'll have a long cable going from the USB under the dash all the way over to the wireless mat. lol what are they thinking
Hey Joe, does the EV6 have a HUD? I see a cutout and know the Korean models had it but I didn’t see it mentioned in the specs. And if it does have a HUD do you know if the wind trim has it or is it gt-line and up? I’m considering an EV6 for sure, even the rwd wind is a big upgrade from a 06 highlander, haha

I bought the Kia Sorento SV6 in 2020 from Kia of Irvine, they were one of the better dealership experiences we had while shopping in Irvine besides Tuttle-Click Mazda

Welp - I'm now the proud owner of the exact car you used in this video. Oddly this was the first review I watched for it, and about halfway through I was thinking "wait, I know where that is!". Dealer said this is the only EV6 GT they've gotten so far... quite the strange coincidence!
