The ambient lighting based on drive mode setting does exits. It is in the vehicle> lights> ambient lighting menu. Also interesting about the Mustang Mach-E infotainment comparison. Also thanks for giving me a heads-up for this video upload on a previous comment! Really appreciate it. Also an interesting fact about the EV6 suspension. It is a liquids-based adaptive system. It basically fills dampers with some oil the rougher the road is. Making it softer. The issue is that if you come from a really smooth road and suddenly hit a bump it will feel harsh. As an EV6 owner for over a month I do notice that. But I also notice that the car becomes smoother if I drive over continuously poor surfacing. So the system does seem to have an effect.
As I had already said some time ago, it is always a pleasure to watch your state-of-the-art cars' in-depth - even if your English accent is not exactly an Oxford one!
I drove a Model Y and thought it was a noisy bumpy tin can - you must think that range and super charger network is crucial for you in order to overlook these drawbacks. Of the cars I have tested so far the Ioniq 5 is the most comfortable but i'm also considering e.g. a used E-Tron 55 for about the same price.
I looked into the Audi but it seems range is a lot lower but you get a nicer build quality overall... also for me the audi is quite ugly in comparison to the ev6 or ioniq 5... so hard to choose!
Hi Thomas, Great review, couple of things I would mention is that the 20’s are actually very good regarding comfort and not much difference than 19’s in my opinion after testing. Plus regarding charging it is very fast but suffers from ‘Coldgating’ but Tesla Bjorn has a work around (whilst Kia/Hyundai fix this) which still means in cold weather you can get quick charging speeds and get the battery up to temperature fast. Once this is done then it has charging speeds comparable to Taycan’s and E-Tron’s. They did a range and charging test with quite a few cars on RSymons channel and he showed that overall not much difference overallin the real world between the EV6 and Tesla LR3/Y. Worth watching if you haven’t seen it? Finally if in a cold climate definitely go for the AWD not just the big difference in power, tested at 4.6sec in real world compared to 5.2 advertised, so why need the GT which has much less range? But importantly in snow (as in Sweden) its needed. I have ordered my AWD with 20’s but out of interest where did the dealer get the black 19’s as would love to have those for my winter wheels as then better for range when ideally it’s needed. Keep up the great work Thomas. 🍻👍
AWD is not "needed" in places with snow, good winter tyres are needed with snow. In Sweden they have driven for decades without AWD and there still is no particular need for it if there are snow plows taking care of the roads and you don't have really steep hills where you drive. Sure AWD might make getting up to speed easier, but it doesn't help stopping or lateral grip in corners. Winter tyres make all the difference.
@@anomuumit With respect I live in Sweden and have ordered my EV6 GT line from my local Kia dealer with AWD. Yes agreed winter tyres are one of the key factors and that is why i mainly use Nokians. But AWD in many cases is a big benefit when the weather is bad. Firstly half the time the local kommuns take an age to get the snow ploughs out and especially in smaller towns. Yesterday was a classic example it had been snowing on and off for 2 days and only late last night did they bother to get the ploughs out. Secondly most manufacturers are bringing AWD to their cars as standard BMW, Merc, VW brand being a casing point. My previous car being a 4 wheel drive vehicle has gotten me out of trouble more times than I would care to remember. If I had been in a 2 wheel drive car then I might have been in trouble which has happened to my wife on occasions with her car. And to be honest with you for the difference in price and piece of mind it gives you in bad weather, plus the extra power and performance in my opinion its worth the difference.
@@markgeezey1809 - Agreed. AWD is also very helpful if you drive in an area with hills. When snowing, even with snow tires, there is no way I would be able to make it around town if I had FWD or RWD because of the hills in my area. I know @Ano Muumit alluded to this already, but it's worth reiterating for those of us that live and/or work in the foothills.
One more important ability which there was no mention of, is the ability for V2G capability, you can power a home and use the vehicle in the event of a power outage, or power a camping site. But a very good assessment of the vehicle.
Hi Thomas. Always look forward to an new upload from Autogefuhl - you really do amazingly detailed reviews. Thank you. I feel sure the Ionic 5 vs EV6 debate will rumble on and on...! Overall, though, I look at it from the viewpoint of, "Isn't it wonderful that the current model options for prospective EV owners is so fantastic?" Even 5 years ago, you might have struggled to think of, maybe, 6 EVs.... now we have such a wide choice, which has got to be a good thing, for sure. Manufacturers just need now to cater for the sub-£20k lower-budget end of the market 🤞
This seems the most refined out of them all in this price range. But then again, so is the Ioniq 5. I go for refinement. So, I'd choose between the 2 Hyundai family products.
I reserved the genesis gv60(RWD 77.4 kWh), the sibling of the ioniq5 and ev6. I have high hopes for this car with a battery preheating function. This is because it allows fast charging without high-speed driving. Hopefully one day Thomas can review the gv60.
lovely review I am purchasing one in Ireland this morning. A grey one has become available luckily. They are not available... I only now have 1 month till delivery... Its like Christmas again :D
Hi Thomas, One thing that might be good to consider is having a close-up of the rear view camera. I liked that you gave your impression when you were giving way to the truck. Can you spend maybe 30 seconds on the rear view camera and rear view mirror? Some cars have poor viewing angles due to rear styling when looking through the rear vision mirror. With the camera demonstration, maybe film reversing into a car park spot (with respecting people's privacy). Some drivers tend to rely on sensors to let them park the car, so maybe demonstrating that would be interesting. Everyone has to park their car, and this seems to get overlooked. Thanks for the great reviews. I have been a long-term viewer and appreciate your style. I have been watching since that Camry review 2 years ago. Autogefühl has the best reviews!
Great you're with us :) I did close ups on the recent Lexus cameras btw in the reviews since the Toyota/Lexus cameras are often rather poor in resolution sadly
I have been waiting for this review. My choice would be the AWD GT line, possibly you could test some EV’s in the snow? This may be my next EV after my E Niro, but I would like to know how EV’s work in winter conditions.
Great review as ever Thomas. You can actually set the interior colours to change with the drive modes automatically as I’m sure others have already pointed out. (Sport: Red, Normal: Dark Blue, Eco: Light Blue) 😀
Great review as always, if there's anything I'd hope you'd change it would be to have price range mentioned as well. All the best and a great year 2022, look forward to what the year brings!
I dont know about prices in Germany, but in Belgium Mach-e (+10%) and Tesla Y (+20%) are a lot more expensive then Ev6 and I5, even more so in leasing. So that put them over my budget. Just went for I5, verry happy, but would just as much have liked an Ev6.
2 day test with the GT-Line S - biggest issue at my height (6' 7") was same as you found - with wheel in a comfortable driving position i couldn't see around 40% of the display. Plus headroom with the sunroof too limited. Quite liked the car otherwise but obviously with those two dealbreakers I didn't order
Great test Thomas. Tesla model Y does not have 400km range in cold climate. Not in real world, mixed road, cold climate driving. In summer maybe 450-500km but so does the EV6.
Looks like a great car. Too bad manufacturers don't make a slightly smaller version 175-189 inch version that is both sporty and luxurious - driving and parking in big cities would be a breeze without giving up too much interior room making it perfect for adventurous empty nesters. I think that would sell out fast. Top class review as always.
@@autogefuehl A quick question for you Thomas. In UK this is the same pice as an XC40 full electric. Which would you go with? For me it is an obvious choice - the Volvo just for the cabin.
I think you Thomas are one of if not the best vehicle reviewer. In this you compared a lot to the Ioniq 5 (as the headline says) but also to Mach and Y. I was wondering what you think of the EV6 compared to some other price and size alternatives? BMW iX1, Audi Q4, and Skoda Enyaq, and ID4.
The end was great Thomas in dilemma which EV is best...i think EV6 fast charging & heads up display & it looks better than other two model Y & Mustang E
Did a test-drive yesterday, didn't expect it to be fast and fun. Steering was not as good as the ID4. GTX and also the electric motors a bit more noisy at 110km/h. Interior looked like the BMW i4 but the feel of buttons was more KIA.
Very nice review Thomas! I was waiting for this one. 😀 Another pro besides way faster charging for the EV6 compared to the Mach-e is the maximum towing capacity: 1600kg for the EV6 compared to 750kg for the Mach-e. As always: the choice is depending on personal taste and preferences.
@@autogefuehl US towing laws are a bit stricter than they are in Europe and the standard Davis Dam Grade towing test limits the towing capacity severely.
I am considering this EV6 or a Model Y to replace my 2020 Model 3 LR later this year. Really excellent review, so thorough and love your measured and articulate approach. Great job.
With the climate/infotainment switcher button I would make it a physical switch or button to feel out what dial is doing what without having to look down.
Hello Thomas, very good review as usual … Thanks to your fantastic job, I’m really considering of getting one. For the first time, I think this EV is comparable to a Tesla…. But much more sexy … . I also take the time to wish you a great 2022 !! A lot of thanks from Belgium for your always nice and useful reviews. Geoffroy
I think kia ev6 its good option its looks much beteer than model y and reliable and better service than tesla. Tesla u cann see everywhere in israel tesla sold 7000 unit in 6 month. Kia its better brand and if improve the entatrimnet like skoda its will be best value of money brand
Very nice review. i could listen to your soothing voice all day. Also you mention some other EV's that are maybe not out yet in the USA. I have read about them but not seen them yet. It is hard to make a decision on which EV to buy now with the tech changing so quickly and always improvements. Plus in US we have tax credits for EV and PHEV but Tesla has exhausted their credits so makes Tesla more expensive to buy. Maybe it's better to lease an EV for now?
Greetings from Tucson AZ where we have 286 days of sunshine a year. Great reviews. Very thorough. I'm probably going to trade my Audi A4 Quattro for the Kia EV6 GT.
Nice review, I have the same but in Yacht Blue, but my touch screen is more responsive than yours, also here in Portugal we don't have the heated or cooling seat or heated steering wheel

Thomas, excellent review. I just have a hard time liking the rear end design. Otherwise it would be my first choice. Maybe an iX3 if it shows up in US.
Very good review as always . However ,I am not a big of all these notifications being available while driving . I was on the autobahn doing 170,180 KPH. About 100 mph. I glanced at a flashing icon , it was so unusual that I got transfixed for a split second. In that time ( on a two lane section of the autobahn ) I drifted slightly left and was almost instantly wiped out by an E class merc doing about 200 plus KPH.... The other driver was not pleased . Never happened before ,but you only need one error to end your life or someone else's. Obviously now I just stick to watching the speedo . How many accidents are caused by people making the same mistake ?
Ev6 was runner up in my decision but in the end I went for the Model 3 LR , mainly because it is a lot more efficient and more sporty. And I just love the minimalist design. but the EV6 was the only other one that came very very close.
@@brianborkowski5977 sure. I tested all EVs available. Ioniq 5 is the only one which is indeed also pretty minimalist but a totally different style. For me M3 is Bauhaus and Ioniq 5 is more game style like nintendo. The thick gear shift know etc was just not mine. Also thenslim screens were not for me. But yes, interesting design. Ioniq5 was immediately out for other reaons, mainly inefficiency and I did not like the software. But all that is very personal taste, I think. Otherwise, really an objectively good car.
I hope to be checking out the EV6 when it arrives in Australia later this year - at this point, it is in front of the race when it comes to my next car - only the forecast high price might count it out.
One thing you didn’t take in consideration for the 3 cars you have tested, Tesla Y and EV6 GT line … the difference in price between them is huge … Model Y is far more expensive… Match E is only comparable in price with EV6 if you go for 70W battery… taking that in consideration… EV6 is the best option
Can anyone answer this obvious question please?? Why aren't these big in-car info displays finished in a matte non-glossy coating? As it stands they're like giant mirrors and can be very distracting whilst on the move. I don't get it.
Great review Thomas! I can't wait to see your review of the GT when it is available! A Tesla Model S for a lot less money? You tell us! Keep up the great work. Cheers from Virginia, USA.

@Robert Kempe
But you're an "anything but Tesla" nut, so let's reserve judgement......
looks pretty good in red actually wow
That KIA is a real looker. I think BMW need to poach their design team
Ironically it was more like in reverse. Look up who the Hyundai and Kia design teams are.
I really like that you can see the blind spot when you turn the blinker on, I wish the Mach-e had that.
Hi Thomas,
Great review, couple of things I would mention is that the 20’s are actually very good regarding comfort and not much difference than 19’s in my opinion after testing.
Thanks for the extensive feedback! Wheel choices might differ from market to market, that might be the reason
No problem Thomas. Sorry but when we start writing we just get carried away. 🤣🤣
Danke Thomas and all team for very practical and informative reviews.
👍
You are one of the best in testing cars, good job !
Thomas is one the best reviewers!! Important that he recomended the smaller 19" wheels... Yes, watch the G forces for the passengers.
One more important ability which there was no mention of, is the ability for V2G capability, you can power a home and use the vehicle in the event of a power outage, or power a camping site. But a very good assessment of the vehicle.
Picked up my Limited Edition yesterday…great ride!
Still vertical learning curve.
Excellent review delivered in a second language - Well done- Impressed with the EV6
👌😎
Great review as always!
It amazes me why so many expensive new ‘cutting edge’ cars have info screens worse than a €49 tablet. 🙄
Cheers! Agreed
You have the best video reviews!
thanks so much =)
Great review and you're a good man. Im about to order the 2024 model EV6 GT Line 😊
Cheers 🙏
Hi Thomas.
Always look forward to an new upload from Autogefuhl - you really do amazingly detailed reviews. Thank you.
I feel sure the Ionic 5 vs EV6 debate will rumble on and on...!
Overall, though, I look at it from the viewpoint of, "Isn't it wonderful that the current model options for prospective EV owners is so fantastic?"
Even 5 years ago, you might have struggled to think of, maybe, 6 EVs.... now we have such a wide choice, which has got to be a good thing, for sure.
Manufacturers just need now to cater for the sub-£20k lower-budget end of the market 🤞
Cheers! Ya true, choices are increasing!
I really like the unique, and detailed perspective that Autogefuehl provides. Thank you for another excellent review! 👍
highly appreciated!
Good review, detailed and thorough, I especially liked the autobahn tests and your interior review. Keep up the good work!
✌️🤗
I am so glad that you making an english review, since most german reviewers only makes them in German :)
you're welcome :)
@@autogefuehl I'm American and I love the way you speak English. And great review as well!
I've been waiting for this video since this car launched last year. Great start to the year
👍
Great review. Best car review channel. You may have just persuaded me to order a Kia EV6.
Cheers keep tuning in!
We will!
Cool seeing how quick you can go from drive to reverse......awesome review !!!
Cheers!
lovely review
I am purchasing one in Ireland this morning. A grey one has become available luckily. They are not available...
I only now have 1 month till delivery...
Its like Christmas again :D
Hi Thomas,
One thing that might be good to consider is having a close-up of the rear view camera.
Autogefühl has the best reviews!
we often do that sure!
Great you're with us :)
I did close ups on the recent Lexus cameras btw in the reviews since the Toyota/Lexus cameras are often rather poor in resolution sadly
🙏🙏
Just to be precise, range difference vs TMY is just 10%. Not that big difference, and Supercharging Network is opening quickly for all evs.
Great review as always, if there's anything I'd hope you'd change it would be to have price range mentioned as well.
All the best and a great year 2022, look forward to what the year brings!
All the best!
I like the fact that they tried to make this corner well. It really doesn't have any competition this car.
I have been waiting for this, thanks for the great and informative review as always Thomas!
thanks for tuning in !
Another spectacular review, many thanks Thomas for all your job!
👍👍
Great test Thomas. Tesla model Y does not have 400km range in cold climate. Not in real world, mixed road, cold climate driving. In summer maybe 450-500km but so does the EV6.
Looks like a great car. Too bad manufacturers don't make a slightly smaller version 175-189 inch version that is both sporty and luxurious - driving and parking in big cities would be a breeze without giving up too much interior room making it perfect for adventurous empty nesters. I think that would sell out fast.
Top class review as always.
Man i love your reviews so much! Favourite youtuber🔥💪
highly appreciated =)

thanks my friend =)
Superb review Thomas, love it !! For me, the EV6 is the best in its segment right now. Waiting for the EV6 GT test ;)
Greetings from Barcelona :=)
Thanks Gery :)
@@autogefuehl A quick question for you Thomas. In UK this is the same pice as an XC40 full electric. Which would you go with? For me it is an obvious choice - the Volvo just for the cabin.
Brilliant videos as always thomas but where is the hyundai i20n review 🤔
Great review Thomas, a real insight into the new Kia. Tempts me to purchase one.
Super review, Thomas!!!

call me weird, but i watch this video as my asmr, just before I went to bed. lol. his voice is calming.
you're most welcome :-)
I think you Thomas are one of if not the best vehicle reviewer. In this you compared a lot to the Ioniq 5 (as the headline says) but also to Mach and Y. I was wondering what you think of the EV6 compared to some other price and size alternatives? BMW iX1, Audi Q4, and Skoda Enyaq, and ID4.
highly appreciated my friend!
The end was great Thomas in dilemma which EV is best...i think EV6 fast charging & heads up display & it looks better than other two model Y & Mustang E
Thank you for this one. I’m about to buy one, although the package it comes with differs a bit, as equipment goes. Great job!
thanks keep tuning in !
Learning curve for regen breaking similar to the clutch for s new car - spot on comparison
Did a test-drive yesterday, didn't expect it to be fast and fun. Steering was not as good as the ID4. GTX and also the electric motors a bit more noisy at 110km/h. Interior looked like the BMW i4 but the feel of buttons was more KIA.
훌륭한 리뷰입니다
Ev6를 시승해보니 성능 디자인 주행거리 등등 너무 좋았습니다
그래서 ev6를 주문했는데 1년 이상 기다려야 하네요
Top notch video and review!! Thank you for sharing!!
🙏🙏
Thomas - you almost had me talked into the Mach-e but now we are considering the EV6. Please stop confusing us! 😊
Cheers! Strangely US towing is at 2300 lbs only 🤔
@@autogefuehl US towing laws are a bit stricter than they are in Europe and the standard Davis Dam Grade towing test limits the towing capacity severely.
I am considering this EV6 or a Model Y to replace my 2020 Model 3 LR later this year. Really excellent review, so thorough and love your measured and articulate approach. Great job.

Great review Thomas. Happy New Year to you and the team :-)
Happy new year!
Geoffroy
All the best to you for 2022 !
I think kia ev6 its good option its looks much beteer than model y and reliable and better service than tesla. Tesla u cann see everywhere in israel tesla sold 7000 unit in 6 month. Kia its better brand and if improve the entatrimnet like skoda its will be best value of money brand
@@shayyitzhaki4285 Kia has excellent reliability PLUS the longest warranty. Thomas neglected to mention this fact.
@@shayyitzhaki4285
I find it "odd" from most angles. Trying too hard.
I love this eve some genuine styling designs but I'm still sticking to the model y performance once I can afford it in a few years 😁
Great review and good conclusion. Another major factor to consider if buying EVs must be depreciation. The Tesla therefore may be the one to go for.
thanks Matt !
Not only the best car reviews but Thomas teaching us how to be good human beings :)
☺️
Yes, no animals harmed, animal free... Most important factor to me.
Thanks 😊
Greetings from Tucson AZ where we have 286 days of sunshine a year. Great reviews. Very thorough. I'm probably going to trade my Audi A4 Quattro for the Kia EV6 GT.
thanks and best greetings!
Good review. It is a nice car, so I wonder why KIA are sloppy when it comes to infotainment system, and the driver screen display.
Nice review! Thanks.
✌️
Nice review, I have the same but in Yacht Blue, but my touch screen is more responsive than yours, also here in Portugal we don't have the heated or cooling seat or heated steering wheel

Roof is top, fenders are shoulders, wheels are legs. ;-)
@@abraxastulammo9940 fenders are above front wheels = shoulders, quarter panels (or rear fenders) are above rear wheels = hips. Just like with any animal with 4 legs, above rear legs are HIPS, not shoulders.

KIA Rocks 💪
Stunning review 👍
Did you have a chance to see the minimalist interior design of the Ionic 5? If so, what did you think 🤔
Apparently the Kia EV6 12.3” displays do have an anti-reflective coating.
Big thing in bagage is the middle hatch thats isnt avaible in ioniq, should be mension. Great review as allways thomas!
