Instead of deleting totems, I would only let evokers that spawn in woodland mansions drop them. Those evokers only spawn when the structure is generated, so the totems that they drop are limited.
i feel like all hardcore needs is a small change in that you cannot obtain totems. the core concept is that you have 1 life to see what ya can do, and i don't see revival being a part of 1 life. and if you die i think it should be changed to a spectator only mode (cannot change gamemode at all) or fully delete only
I heard cheats are totally disabled in Bedorck hardcore. Idk if the world is deleted automatically… But I think it's better to at least be able to spectate the world.
There are many high risks of dying while building a raid farm for totems. So I think those who manage that have the right to use them. If anything, have raid mechanics parity with Bedrock, so the farm is localized to Pillager Outposts. I do agree with bringing back the old Hardcore options on the death screen. Also, natural regeneration from food saturation is crazy fast in Java. Change that back as well.
or, just my idea Mobs in Hardcore gets progressively harder everyday, Phantom spawns when you try to sleep, Mobs can grieve blocks, Abandon village will replace most villages, Lastly, pillager raids will happen randomly at your spawnpoint lol
my ideas: in hardcore mode totems are unobtainable and evokers will use them you can't turn on cheats when clicking on open lan mobs have a 30% chance to spawn with diamond gears (the chance of getting them is extremly low) ender dragon hp increased by 50% and can respawn ender crystals wither is "bedrock wither" now all foods have lower saturation regeneration is slower phantoms spawn by sleeping 3 days instead of not sleeping progressive difficulty (mobs become stronger after spending some days in minecraft) wither skeletons and piglins have a chance to spawn with netherite gear (don''t drop when we kill them) you can't buy diamond armor from villagers diamonds have 40% less chance to spawn mob spawns increased by 2x some enchantments nerfed (mending requires more xp and fire aspect is weaker) this is the hardcore most of us need right?
Yes players can edit NBT data externally, but if Mojang just program it so if game mode is hardcore and you have cheats on loading into the world disable cheats and say if they are in creative or survival also reset game mode to spectator if you died, but if you aren't dead and you go into creative it just puts you back into survival on loading into the world as cheats aren't allowed and also code that detects game mode changing in-game in case they have a mod or a command block somehow to do so.
3:15 ok then choose not to use them Or find a datapack that removes totems as a drop and install it in your hardcore world Can't build op raid farms if evokers drop nothing
I think just making evokers from raids not drop totems is enough. It's so easy to get multiple totems from the raids whereas with a mansion you're only getting one or two and you have to do a lot more steps to get to it. I don't get why this isn't already a thing since mansions are effectively pointless now that its so easy to get all the totems you need without even making a farm for it. Why go out for the totem when the totem just comes to you?
To be honest, I think hardcore is perfect the way they are Yes, totem is kinda broken, but it doesn't change the fact that at one stupid moment in the future, you will accidently die and lose your world. This makes the game not too skill based or stressful while not being too easy Well people can still use cheat but that is just depending on them and the guilt will follow them knowing what they have done is wrong This is not like Geometry Dash, Osu, FNAF that you only play for a few minutes. You are playing for a very long time with the thought of one day the world will be ended (that is if you don't afk in a dirt hut but we dont talk about that) Simple fix is to create a challenge for yourself if you feel like it is too easy
I think this is a more broad problem with the Open To LAN button allowing you to turn on cheats in a non-cheat enabled world. This option should be removed and replaced with an implementation of the Operator system used in dedicated servers. Cheat disabled world operators would only have access to commands related to administration such as kick or ban, no gamemode switching or teleporting or give commands. Cheat enabled operators would have the same permissions as dedicated servers. Java also ended up replacing the achievements with advancements, so cheating is kinda inconsequential and the game in no way rewards you for playing legitimately on that version. Bedrock edition lets you enable cheats or creative mode whenever, but it causes that world to be ineligible to earn achievements from.
The second idea would be a pretty good adittion to the game to be honest. Btw, a video about the differences between Java and Bedrock would be pretty cool
The whole hype of hard-core fell off for me. At this point not many people watch videos or streams because it's hard-core but because of the builds they do in it
I've always disagreed with this take, your completely missing the point of hardcore. Minecraft is a sandbox game right? So why should you be forced to delete your world upon death. If you made it like this, you would just be making it more annoying for people to recover their worlds, people would simpily find a roundabout way to play their worlds after dying in hardcore. Now than, a rebuttal to this arguement is, what's the point of there even being a hardcore gamemode if you can just cheat your way out of death? A simple counter claim to this would be, that for players who want more of a challange they can play hardcore where the difficulty is locked, unlike normal survival where you change to whatever difficulty you feel like. If you had no intent to challange yourself, and never worry about the perma death, than you'd simpily play survival, but players who play hardcore like having the idea that if they ever make a mistake they could lose their whole world. Now this doesn't complete the arguement though, as than what's still the point of the perma death, when you can, cheat to get out of it, use totems, or have full proct armor so you never die. Well it's this is a sandbox game right? So you're the one who chooses how to play it, you can play by the games rules like most do. Most players who play in hardcore quit their worlds forever after dying, because that's the point of hardcore. Like why would you wanna cheat in hardcore? Your not even playing the game legitily after dying since you have to turn cheats to come back after death, so you might aswell just play survival mode with hard difficulty. So honestly i've stated this in a messy way, to keep my conclusion simple, since minecraft is a sandbox game it offers you choices, you get to play the game how you chose too, hardcore is just an option. You don't have to play it legit, you can cheat all you want to, but the option for players who want to play it without ever cheating is right there. You can do the same thing in survival mode too, if you wanted you could just delete your world after death, but it doesn't feel the same is playing a gamemode where if you die, you cant respawn without cheating. sorry for all the yap, I just think the hardcore gamemode is perfect as it is.
2:38 you know you could literally say this about any command in any gamemode Why don't you give yourself a stack of diamonds while you're at it i mean you already cheated sooooo
I would say you would be stuck I'm spectator instead of the world deleting after exiting because what if you want to revisit the world another day in spectator
I really hate these "I fixed x in minecraft" the game isnt broken, its not boring and totems of undying did not ruin the game. If you want to play hardcore like it was before delete your world after dying If you dont like totems of undying dont use them Its that simple...
How would you fix Hardcore in Minecraft?
easily
Instead of deleting totems, I would only let evokers that spawn in woodland mansions drop them. Those evokers only spawn when the structure is generated, so the totems that they drop are limited.
Make the evoker Very rare and hard to kill

Hardcore isn't a simple fix of "just remove totems" you can sleep mobs away, netherite and diamonds are easy to find, water can save your fall

you can't turn on cheats when clicking on open lan
mobs have a 30% chance to spawn with diamond gears (the chance of getting them is extremly low)
ender dragon hp increased by 50% and can respawn ender crystals
wither is "bedrock wither" now
all foods have lower saturation
regeneration is slower
phantoms spawn by sleeping 3 days instead of not sleeping
progressive difficulty (mobs become stronger after spending some days in minecraft)
wither skeletons and piglins have a chance to spawn with netherite gear (don''t drop when we kill them)
you can't buy diamond armor from villagers
diamonds have 40% less chance to spawn
mob spawns increased by 2x

When he said “it doesn’t exist” for a second I thought he might follow up with “in Bedrock”
Maybe not remove totems. But what if totem's only leave you with half heart and no potion effects apon death
