Even after 2yrs this videos you have made them..I still praise them how you make this research and testing for us today is very useful. Thank you for the hard work and sharing guys! From the island lit red dot of singapore👍🏽
This is exactly what I was looking for. Its OK to read about them; but when deciding which to purchase and utilize, seeing each in this way was fantastic. Thank you
I was just about a post a question asking about the different heads in glass pipes in a group and this has saved time and perfectly answers my question!
Very educational and fun. I'm thinking about changing from a spray bar to a lily set up in my 40 breeder. Thinking one of the ones that directs the current more downward with an intake that has a surface skimmer attachment.
I found this very helpful. Many thanks to you I know which one to get for my fish tank. My dumbo guppies are having a hard time swimming with the eheim spray bar.
Hi! And thank you for the useful visuals! What would be best for a 30l cube where one betta only lives but there's CO2? Betta doesn't like currents but for CO2 I do need some flow. Thank you!
with a smaller canister filter like the zoo-med nano 10 would you reccomend a spin pipe or poppy pipe for a 3gallon cube, i plan on stocking it with nano shrimp and maybe a few nano fish
What is the point of the spin type? Wouldn't you have a lot of still water areas around the tank since the output blocks the circulation of water around the tank?
That isn't a lily pipe XD. There ARE mini lily pipes. But that is a violet pipe. There are large ones too. They are designed for a lot more forceful flow than lily pipes. NOT good for mollies, guppies etc. More for Tetras, Rasboras etc. You get the idea... It is also geared towards Iwagumi scapes for more flow on the bottom of your tank. Hence the downward facing lip that is ONLY present on violet pipes.
I've started using a spin pipe for the first time a few days ago and now I'm wondering about the intake. In my tank, the outflow sits in the front left corner while the intake's in the back right corner. Would it be better for the intake to be in the back left corner because of how the flow works with such a special pipe?
I have found it’s good to keep the two separate. Depending on the scape, experience has shown me to have the spin pipe’s flow hitting the largest mass of plants. It further diffuses the flow and keeps detritus from building up on leaves. The inflow should be in the most open area as possible. Feel free to email us with a picture of your scape for more help.
Where did you get the mini lily pipe? I need that tornado suction for surface scum and that would be the perfect one for me :) I need a 16/22 mm tubing
@@BrooklynHardscape 9.3 gallon, the UNS 45U. I have a pretty large outflow poppy pipe in it, but Im looking for the whirlpool lily pipe specifically for that feature. I'm not entirely sure if it's the violet pipe (aka mini lily pipe) as different companies look slightly different than the one in your video. :)
@@rdrdghd The violet pipe I believe is the flatter lily shaped pipe. Any true lily pipe will give you the vortex. You just need two position it correctly.
Ideally the bubbles from the reactor are excess CO2 that could not be dissolved. Which is the difference between an inline diffuser and a reactor. Spin pipes are good for shorter tanks, while a lily pipe pushes water further making Brownian Motion happen faster in longer tanks. In other words, aquarium size relates to pipe type.
Depends on what you’re looking for. For my 45P for my betta, I started out with a poppy pipe and than switched to a spin pipe. The same tank I used a normal lily for cory’s and a mini for green neons. 9instagram.com/p/B8ZW85rlpcP/?igshid=1b1tt8uozkj2a)
That isn't a mini lily pipe XD. There ARE mini lily pipes. But that is a violet pipe. And there are large ones too. 101% unmistakable shape and flow. Violets also cause the vortex if close to the surface. If you bought it under lily pipes, I applaud the seller. They are designed for a lot more forceful flow than lily pipes. NOT good for mollies, guppies etc. More for Tetras, Rasboras etc. You get the idea... It is also geared towards Iwagumi scapes for more flow on the bottom of your tank. *sigh* Dear Mary Contrary You’re 101% wrong. There’s no downward tilt to the pipe, the outflow is at 90*. A violet outflow is thin, and oval, while this is round. If you have issues, I’m sure the designers and sellers of the pipes I used, (Cal Aqua, Aquasabi), would love to hear from you and your input, and change their misleading ways after a decade+ of selling these products. Thank you for your insightful and well researched comment.
Or you could just hang your canister filter's outflow on an appropriately sized Aquaclear HOB rather than using its impeller pump. The Spillway of the HOB is Engineered to give Proper Surface agitation and Oxygenation of the Water Column. - Just hanging a Canister's outflow on the tank? Where's the Oxygenation (after the canister has depleted the Oxygen levels ?)
First time I've actually seen someone be able to describe/demonstrate the difference. Most of the time it's a shoulder shrug. Great video!

Thank you so much for showing us how they really perform instead of going by general recommendations
Excellent video. Thanks for making us understand the mechanics with such elaboration.
Felt like I was watching a solid movie trailer the whole time
Helped me make my choice for the Spin version for my 10 gallon betta tank!
I wouldnt, it could get sucked in and washing machined. Which is the problem I get with endlers and lily pipe.
A great idea ... awesome ! Now I see the differences. THX !
Best video hands down 🔥..good music!
Really useful😀😀 thank you, making my 3rd tank and still leaning and this has helped imensely.

Good video. Be cool to see the various brands of lily pipe and how they Compare and full tank flow etc. But this was good. Thanks.

best way to explain ❤❤❤❤❤❤

El mejor video, muchas gracias!
For this information I subscribe your channel
Awesome video! Thank you for the info, are you able to use these pipes with floating plants? Which Lily pipe would be best for that? Thanks again!
I’d use the spin pipe for floaters. Everything else will get blasted away.
@@BrooklynHardscape I noticed that it is mainly geared towards nano tanks, would an eheim 2211 and a spin type be enough for a 29 gallon tank?
Cool!
Great video and work! Can you name this sound track please? It’s great also :)
Very cool

I’ve never seen it come that large. Most of my pipes are from aquasabi in Germany.

Hello, which I recommend to a Aquarium sweet 300 liters with plants? What is it okay to not eliminate the co2? Thanks
Hey Dante! They would all work with a planted aquarium. But I would suggest a lily pipe for larger aquariums.
Where do we buy they’d lily pipes?

nice!
Would spin pipe good for bettas? Or the flow would be too strong for them?
I’m about to do an ADA 45P for a Betta using a spin pipe. So yes. I think it’ll be OK
