- My hands on review of the iRULU Walknbook 32GB WIndows tablet computer
Key Features
Windows 10 OS,10.1" IPS Touch Screen (1280 by 800 resolution)
• Intel BayTrail-T Quad Core Processor (1.22-1.83 GHz), Mini HDMI, Bluetooth 4.0
• 2GB RAM +32 GB Nand Flash extendable to 128GB with Micro SD Card, 7 hours battery life
• Includes detachable keyboard and case, less than 1/2 " thick , weighs 1.3lbs
• Includes Office 365, 1TB OneDrive Cloud Storage.
Summary of good/bad points:
Areas I liked:
+ “2 in 1” design allows for use as a tablet of with the supplied keyboard/cover a netbook sized laptop
+ IPS screen has good viewing angles and colours, respectable resolution
+ Solid build on the tablet with easy to reach controls and well placed speakers
+ Performance is quite satisfactory for a tablet computer (quad core Atom is comparable to entry level laptops)
+ Full sized USB port (USB 3.0), mini HDMI for output to a TV, built in micro SD card slot
+ Sound output is better than expected
+ Cover can be used as a “stand” by folding up the back section
+ Battery endurance is quite good at around 5.5-6 hours in mixed use possibly longer for lighter activities
+ Front/rear cameras are reasonable for a tablet in this price range even in low light (though frame rates drop in very dim light) better than most budget laptops
Weaker points:
- Micro USB port cannot be used for charging (on most tablets they can)
- Supplied power lead could be longer/adapter tip requires some care in use (it's not that thick)
- Storage space somewhat limited
- Keyboard is up to par but could be improved (short travel on key presses) - Наука та технологія

thank you so much for this review I am for sure goi NH to get this
thx for review, good 2 in 1 device
I have that pc and I love it to bits
GREAT review!!
Thanks Danny appreciate the comment
you made this review in 2015 , we are 2 years later , does it still work good ?
Video was made under 18 months ago. I have not had any problems with it
someone is selling it on a website second hand , the tablet is named this way : iRULU Walknbook 1 . I guess "1" means first version , wich version do you own ?
This is known as WalknBook 1 so it's the same check the photos to make sure
You can remove the back glass layer using a heat gun and patience. Removing the phillips 00 screws all around the edge will let you remove the back and gain access to the internals. Simply solder a wire from the positive of the jack to the positive of the USB to allow for USB charging. The AC in is only 5v which is the same as what the USB port uses. Doing this will not harm the tablet electronically unless you bridge contacts when soldering. This needs to be done very carefully as the board is densely populated and if not all SMD components.
Why does it come with a micro usb cable? I heard someone saying that you can connect it to a pc desktop, data transfer maybe?
i have same tablet i wonder what the port slot i found hidden if you remove the orange plastic part on the right side of tablet
I'm curious, if you can't charge it via the micro USB than what is it for?
Will it read a 256 gb sd card and operate as usual?
Is the stand required for this to sit upright while attached to the keyboard? In other words would I be able to sit and work with this on my lap while it is attached to the keyboard?
+Jeff Lykins
Hi Jeff you can but you need to spread the bottom triangle part out at the back it does work and is stable if you sit fairly still. It might be better to have a flat surface to use it on though such as a book or other item. It's not as good as a laptop but usable sat down.
Thanks for you great review. I have a concern about the durability of the cover-flaps/stand and the tablet in general. Can you already say something about that? I wonder if it is good/strong enough for a kid to take it to school every day.
+herman stokbrood Hi Herman I have not had any problems with the cover it seems to be pretty good quality. The keyboard is merely "OK" I use it every other day and again no issues with that it's not as good for touch typing as a larger notebook keyboard, it's fine for what it is though.
Mr Baz Reviews Thanks..
would you recommend this product for a college student. I use word and PowerPoint often for school. would this be a good option
For that type of work yes it will be ideal for that it's portable and has a good battery life
how much does it cost
Any one tried using any kind of stylus pens and some drawing programs like sketchbook pro on it?
does thus include Microsoft Word would like to buy this as my school laptop for my online classes
+Nivvy87
Yes you get office included but it's a trial version so you only have one month then you have to subscribe. Libreoffice is free that might be worth considering
I wonder if this would be good for a Remix OS device. Specs seem to be about the same as the Remix Mini. Do you reckon this would work for that?
Should work fine the requirements for Remix OS are pretty minimal and it supports X86 processors which this has.
Mr Baz Reviews Thanks for the input. I think I'm gonna get one now. I'm also waiting on the Remix IO PC. Being this deep into the Android market, I may as well.
Alright man! Great video by the way! Is this good for editing/ uploading UA-cam videos?
+BlackiePlays HD
Hi depends on the software you use for video editing it can do it, though it won't compete with a faster laptop or desktop processor if the software uses the GPU for acceleration it will help quite a lot. If you're doing a lot of video work really you want more power
+Mr Baz Reviews Will Windows Movie Maker work ok?( editing etc..)
+roxas180
It should do thought it's getting on a bit it's a question of "time" I've a 6 core AMD desktop pc which is well suited to video but if you're editing full HD video it pushes the processor quite a lot this is only a 4 core Atom it's below even budget desktop computers for this type of work it might work fine if you're not in a hurry
Mr Baz Reviews Thank you sir
Does anybody else has a problem with the tablet overheating and shutting down?
will this work on programs like fl studio? great review! thank you!
+Marcus escalante
FL studio doesn't have a high system requirement so no reason it wouldn't work with this as it meets and exceeds the spec
Awesome thank you so much for the response! In excited to receive this item very soon!
I wanna know if this can handle FL Studio 12 or Albeton live?
+Luis Rodriguez
LIve version 9 has a higher memory requirement check the system requirements on software. It might run, but I'd go for a laptop if you want more performance (i3 or AMD A6 CPU)
I wana know if this can handle FL Studio 12 or Albeton live?
It will run them, but you won't be able to do much at all without severely reduced performance and a lot of underruns.
does it have miracast/dlna support?
Yes both standards are supported with Win 10
I have been tried to change name of mine back since someone stole my tablet.. When I open tablet, id: Vance on it, it was not me.. I need this remove and put my name on it back.. How can I change name or put my name back on? Thank you
This is a guide to resetting the tablet you could try this

hello First of all GREAT review.I was asking my self whether this tablet pc can run games like minecraft and Counter strike global offensive?
+Leonhard Ripper
Thanks for the comment
You are a bit below spec for Counter strike it might be possible though I know frame rate can be important. Minecraft will run though
+Mr Baz Reviews Thanks for the answer!
I was wondering which one of these Notebooks would perform better for the price in low games like minecraft or CsGo ( I want to use a laptop like this for school, freetime, and Lan partys at friends home)
Acer Aspire E3-112:

+Leonhard Ripper the acer aspire runs great at csgo
I noticed there's also the Irulu walknbook 3, is it better than this one or newer?
+Edmar Alvarez Cordero The 3 has similar hardware but is lighter, with a shorter battery life (still quite good though) The keyboard has a single button for left and right, and it's touch sensitive (not as good IMO) It is also removable ie the screen/keyboard. I prefer this one (cameras are better too) but that model can be charged with a micro USB cable.
+Mr Baz Reviews it's the same processor and every thing only battery life it's more low and brightest of screen but for gaming I test I play pes2016 and this need Smoth gbu and run max Payne 3 and mafia 2. and gta iv
five years later , is the tablet still working fine ? when did it started getting faulty?
It works still, battery is weak but expected considering it's age. Not a problem as I plug it in most times
@@MrBazReviews please , do you confirm the tablet is good quality and last long ? the name would suggest some cheap made tablet
I am not a salesman I just put a video up of it so people can see it better. It's working, is what it is a budget tablet/notebook pc. If you want to buy a surface no question it's better, but also more expensive. This is alright for what it cost
FINALLY! SOMETHING TO EXPLOIT ROBLOX ON!!!
can you run microsoft office on this well?
+Tomasz Zalewski
Hi it comes with Office 365 pre loaded on it (you need to register) it's an x86-64 processor (not a RISC/ARM one) so it runs any software that works on a normal desktop or laptop version of windows.
Can I charge it with the micro usb port ?
Yes
is this more like an laptop to a tablet? will I be able to download steam for games like football manager?
+Fitzy WHU
Yes you can download steam and play some games storage is limited though so you might want to get a micro SD card (reasonable speed one)
+Mr Baz Reviews you think their is any way an irulu x11 10.1" tablet can work as a computer? Not a hybrid but maybe with the right setup? Id honestly appreciate it if you can check it out
Hi the OS is identical to a laptop/desktop and it will run the same hardware if connected without issue. You could use this as a computer but if you want to use a desktop low budget setup you might be better off with one of the HDMI dongle micro pc's (if you have a monitor/tv)
Is it possible to download Xbox games on this device, such as Resident Evil 6???
I'm not aware Xbox games run on Windows this can play some Windows games it's not really aimed at gaming by any means but the updated graphics can do a passable job at moderate settings on older games
Approximately how long does it take to charge, also, are there any inconveniences being Aid that its charging port is DC.

+Edmar Alvarez Cordero
About 4.5-5 hours from flat it's a big battery, though you can use it whilst charging
+Mr Baz Reviews Did you try the micro usb port to charge it? Some says it do charge it seem
I tried multiple cables and charger and it didn't charge the tablet only data transfer. I tested the cables and charger they worked perfectly. As far as I can see it does not charge via the micro USB, unless they have revised the design in the last few months
Mr Baz Reviews ok thank you :)
Can you program on this?
Hi John no reason why not it works the same as any other Win 10 computer - though with a 32bit OS
What you say do the gaming experience would be like on this windows 10 tablet from 1-10?
+Edmar Alvarez Cordero if you like gaming try irulu walknbooking w1005 it's better gpu you can play gta iv
You would get 120fps on minesweeper no joke
Axe Racing lol
+Axe Racing If you instal low pc you can play in 25 or 30 fbs
can you do a minecraft test
Would you be able to use this on a bed
Hi you can but you'll have to open up the back flaps a bit to make it more stable. Best to use a book or something to rest it on. The portable cover is great but that's the downside the V shape isn't ideal for a lap or other non flat surface.
i want this but my mom are dad might not give it to me
Can it go on steam cause I wanna download bo3 and steam when I get a iRULU 2 in 1
+xlightmariox
Hi you can install steam but take note of the system requirements BO3 needs more firepower for ram/graphics and processor this isn't really a gaming solution it plays some games fine but it's a quad core Atom with Intel HD graphics I can play some games on it but you really need a decent i3/i5+ or try the AMD A series laptops for gaming they are much better suited to that.
+Mr Baz Reviews sorry my friend but you can play a lot of games in Intel atom z3735 f and not steam like gta iv. pes2016 . dead space3 fallout 4. max Payne2.
What happens if an efi shell version 2.31 [5.8] shows on the screen?
Will it boot up normally or did you enter the boot loader mode?
Mr Baz Reviews As soon as I turn it on it goes to the efi screen
Sounds like a problem loading the OS is it under warranty
There is a thread here about it might be useful
forums.windowscentral.com/ask-question/456724-my-irulu-windows-10-tablet-stuck-uefi-screen-what-solution.html
how mutch is it
Best to check ebay they have prices up so do Amazon
can you connect an external mouse?
+Cezar Gheorghiu
Hi yes you have a USB port so you can connect any device such a keyboard/mouse or hard drive USB headset printer anything that works on a normal Windows PC
+Mr Baz Reviews ty
Can you write on it with a stylus?
It doesn't have any direct stylus support but you can use a pen with specific apps if they support it.
James Pascatore I'm curious as well, wanting a windows tablet for mostly drawing
Any touch screen device can be used with a pen for painting you can get brush type ones
Is steam on it?
Yes it runs windows
What bit is this using...like 32 or 64?
+_MiffedQuill3_ ___ (Near)
32bit OS on this (as it's 2GB ram)
Oh does 64bit need more ram ? Interesting !
Hi well you can run 64bit on 2GB (CPU supports 64bit) but it will use more memory running than 32bit as there is no way to expand the ram it probably makes sense to use 32bit for this model.
Mr Baz Reviews Oh Thanks !
+Mr Baz Reviews But I heard certain programs won't even run on a 32 bit windows
would this computer let you play.. Skyrim for instance? that would be the most demanding game I'd ever play.
Hi Shilver min requirements are a dual core 2.0GHz CPU and 2GB ram really you need a bit more power to run the game than this can offer. I'd be surprised if you could get acceptable frame rates even with the settings down low.
00:21 that's what she said! Lol
I like the office too!
this thing compete with surface 3
+Edmundo Andres
Hi Edmundo there are some differences the Surface 3 has a full HD display the Atom processors go up higher in frequency and are faster plus it has higher res cameras and more storage. So a step up but bang per buck the Walknbook is quite good for the price
mmmmm i mean but whit this one if i buy it , i could buy a 128 gb sd card on it right? and still be able to put a external hard disk i already have via usb , wich i alredy have , also i read the atom processor is quad core, so that be enough to edit videos and pictures and surf the web, for 185 usd is amazing, comparing it with the surface
+Edmundo Andres
The surface will be quicker but this isn't bad either so I agree at the price level it's a bargain and offers quite a lot. MS never really offered a genuinely affordable "decent" surface bar blow out deals but it's good to see a maker has addressed this. For the price it's hard to beat though Irulu do a few other models I prefer this one they do a combo tablet with a double hinged keyboard that is quite good too (larger screen)
64GB cards are fairly cheap I use the Samsung EVO ones they seem to work well
ok i will go for this one :P
Please don't waste your money on this trash!
I'm curious, if you can't charge it via the micro USB than what is it for?
+HatTrick1914
You can use an adapter to convert the port to a normal sized USB port (USB OTG) but it's an oversight in my view not to allow charging via the micro USB port
I'm curious, if you can't charge it via the micro USB than what is it for?
+HatTrick1914
You can use an OTG adapter to convert the micro USB to a normal USB port which might be useful it's fairly common on tablets but it's a shame you can't use it for charging
