A tip for Xiaomi products: both tablets and phone have at least a Chinese and a Global version, you got the Chinese one, as the Global is yet to be launched later this year.
However, the Global version will have Google Play, multi-language and etc. Usually the global version of their devices launches in Europe some months after the chinese launch.

A more positive fact is the possibility to load global ROM to the basic mi pad 6 after this launch.

the global version has already been launched! I got one today, known as the "international version". It costs me 399euros for the 6GB + 128GB version.
Xiaomi is really innovative when it comes to delivering budget devices without giving up much on the hardware and user experience.
Not sure about that. Chinese tech companies are known to not have R&Ds... that's why they are cheap. They literally just steal tech.. even the tech that other tech companies long been hiding to launch someday.

The 256 version doesn't look like it will reach western market. The mi pad 5 didn't have a SD card either.
You can always get a SD card reader. But I agree it's ashame the 256 variant won't be available in west officially.

I love your videos, Brad. I've been trying to get back into digital art as my last foray into it was the Surface Pro 3 about 10 years ago, which was...not great. Drawing technology has come so far and your reviews have tremendously helped me with the decision. I picked up a Galaxy Book Pro 360 at a steep discount last week and am really loving it so far.

I used a Surface Pro 4 with SketchBook (free drawing app) and it worked great: same as using a tablet.
I don't know what program you used but I know many people that draw on Windows like to use Photoshop which is not made for drawing (too laggy, too many tools centered around photography and not on drawing).
Finally. Someone who reviews the thing that's most important for me. The styluses for the pads. I don't draw. But I have been a heavy s-pen user sense I fell in love with using a pen on the phone with my Samsung Note 9. I can't live without it anymore. I game with it. Surf with it. I don't write but I navigate pretty much everywhere with the pen instead of my fingers. Thank you for such a good review over this and many other styluses!

Thank you for the review Brad. It was good that you mentioned how would it compare to oneplus pad. I would like to see a video for rating all the latest Android tablets (oneplus, xiaomi, google, amazon) for drawing even if it is only line tests with their original pens/styluses and a USI pen.
yeah would be great to understand wich ones are using USI2.0 (oneplus, google and amazon?) and the differences and what are using xiaomi and lenovo android tablets (are compatible with USI2.0?). Also, a comparison between the samsung-wacom pen and the winner of the others would be great
And it to make it more interesting, it would be good to see how would they compare to normal ipads (non laminated) as well as including different apps in the tests. I have been watching your videos for a while and I think the only thing I miss is the comparison across different products such as rating line smoothness and screen brightness or resolution across all types of drawing medium that you get and review. I think this way a person can pick between two different tablet types or brands or if two tablets are needed for different use cases it would help which ones to pick. You mentioned in one of your reviews that tablets like Samsung and Apple provide better quality for drawing than display tablets overall so I want to see more on that.

It's hitting Europe, so there should be global version with full language support, google apps and everything else. So please, do these reviews, there are people outside of the US who can buy it like a normal device ;) Thank you anyway for review - I didn't get the 5 version because of the pen issues, and now I need to think if the Samsung S9 performance will be justifying the price tag :)
Why am I drawn to android tablets?? Within 2 minutes of starting this video I was already seaching for it. I mean, a 144hz screen alone is mighty tempting - and at that price, seems like a great option.

I didn't even know Xiaomi made tablets. I'm so glad this popped into my recommended. I have like 3 or 4 Xiaomi phones because I love the software and I've been looking for an art tablet to draw on the go. So this is great for me!

I was going to get the s6 lite but UA-cam recommended this video to me and oh my god I'm definitely getting this one, I already have a Xiaomi phone so This will be easy for me to get as they have a distributor in my country I will just have to save a little bit more, thanks :)

Hi Brad, have you tried the "Pro" Version of the tab? There's one around $600 and they say that the pen response on that tab works better? Not really sure since there aren't a lot of creative reviews out there for the pro version.
Pro version only for China market for now. We can buy them if you know where to buy.
I got global version, it's cheap but customisation and media consumption and some of the features which is more helpful ,i personally recommend this,u r gonna addicted that for sure and not having problems in budget wise

To properly gauge "pen wobble" its standard to use a ruler with the pen, much more reliable input will be given. Hands are shaky "organic" things, so unrecommended for proper review. Personally, I've never been able to make straight lines on a glass surface, only paper.
I see this problem in many tablet reviews. Aside from that, your channel is perfect! Keep up the awesome reviews.
Maybe with a paper like screen protector it could help with that no? I have no idea never drawn on a tablet just an idea

This is actually a quite big upgrade from my Xiaomi Pad 5 especially in drawing side. I'm studying in creative professional which is animation and damn i missed the opportunity

@@fikrialfaridzi1407 depends on your use case. If you are taking serious in drawing, it's worth the upgrade but for most casual user, i don't think it's worth buying from pad 5

It’s now available in Europe, I think it’s called the global version, but it’s €399 here, for the base model, a considerable price bump and for that amount there are other options available, like the Lenovo new Tab P11 and new Tab M10+ models, both with pen support. Don’t think you ever reviewed a Lenovo Android tablet, have you? They are overlooked by many UA-cam reviewers, but are surprisingly good.
It's €399 with the pen included from the Xiaomi DE site, so it's not really more expensive than the older one. The Lenovos are both a lot weaker. If you mean the Tab P11 Pro, that's almost €500

Great video, thank you so much! Did you try Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.5"? It's almost the same as Xiaomi Pad 6 you reviewed. It's production date was much after regular Pro 5, it has almost the same specs as Pad 6. It's made for Chinese market only. I'm in EU, I ordered it from one distributor who ships to EU without import tax, tablet without stylus I've paid us$358 (e323) for 6/128GB as the final price with shipping and using some coupons.

@@scarynavii Not true. Xiaomi 5 and 5 Pro doesn't have, but 5 Pro 12.4 which I have does have HDMI out! It's the same as Xiaomi 6, same SoC, everything the same, just screen size 12.4". Edition 2022.
already bought one, currently watching this on my mi pad 6. the display is wonderful enough for watching any movies or videos. Love how xiaomi design their tab to look premium despite their quite affordable price. I have been a Xiaomi fan since 2020 when i first bought my Xiaomi smartphone,now using a new phone but still a Xiaomi brand lol just love how XIAOMI products give u the best quality at the great price.
Update : Ive been using this tablet for nearly 4 months and mainly using it for study purpose like Google Docs, Microsoft, Canva and taking notes using Jnotes. So far what I can say is this tab is so freaking useful in helping me studying. Seriously my life saver in saving paper. As for the Xiaomi pen it is great it doesnt feel unfamilliar at all it does feel u use a pen but ofc not deff 100 same with real pen.
How's the battery life ? I'm thinking of getting one for emulation.

The battery for me is pretty long lasting for a mid-heavy use, but the thing tht i love the most is its fast charging feature. It charges very fast
Doesn't the short software support bother you? They've already stopped at Android 13 for the Pad 5, which was only released 2 years ago.

This really seems like a good option, I don't want to go around with my computer all the time. And I want to edit videos, photos, and illustrations on the go anywhere, as well as being able to just bring up my portfolio at any time.

Xiaomi products tend to have an excellent feel about them for the price.I still use a mi 10t lite phone as a back up.The problem is their apps tend to be full of ads and I am a ad hater,but thats probably how they keep the prices down while maintaining quality...also the battery in the model I have run out fairly quick.

you can just remove ads by removing ,msa from your device
I have my mi9t as my main phone and completely works and I can game even high graphics

I've been using MI Pad 5 for at least two years. I always feels this offer the best bang for the buck. Even with the newer ones out there, I still cant justified my self to get one of those. Great review, I'm glad Xiaomi still holds their ground in that price rang.

03:06 If you have 50MP camera then you are reviewing Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro and not basic version 6. I don't know if it's just mistake but yeah it's not quite the same tablet as it's more powerful and little bit more pricey but still great tablet for it's price.

Hey Brad,I am from India....would be really really grateful if u provide me some suggestions.Buying an iPad air or Pro will be very difficult for me at this time since they are quite expensive...The Xiaomi Pad 6 is within my budget.My concern is almost all the digital artists I have spoken to use Procreate on an iPad to paint and most of the tutorials and courses on the web are centered around Procreate..but since Pad 6 is Android it won't have Procreate so will it be possible to create great art...especially portraits like people do on Procreate using some alternative like say Hi Paint? Or shall I break the bank and go for an iPad anyway ( this will cause other problems)...pls suggest

If the xiaomi pad costs 300 usd, then the base model ipad also costs around the same at 329 usd. The xiaomi tab will cost lesser but will lose software updates in the future. Unless you're a heavy artist, the base model ipad will do with the apple pencil. The experience is smoother. No hiccups at all on the ipad. Plus resale value is high too so you might want to consider. Do some more research before choosing a tablet.

There's a xiaomi pad 6 max which is basically a 14 inch version of this that has its own seperate pen that is apparently more accurate and sensitive. It's only 550 bucks and have been considering getting it but I cant seem to find ANY videos on its drawing performance, so I'm hesitant to buy it. I think you do an amazing job weighing the pros and cons of these tablets from an artists perspective, so would you consider making a review on one?

The Tab S8 without thinking, the software is better, the software tracking is better, another 3 years of Android update guaranteed, when Xiaomi announces 3 years of security update, and above all, Samsung's Notes application is much better, the collaboration with Microsoft applications, and Samsung Dex ...

I was planning on buying an older Samsung tablet but if this onpar with something like the s8 or even s7 i think gettting the xiaomi might actually be the way to go. At least for me.
in terms of hardware apart from the pen the pad 5 was the tab s7. this is better.
A Tab S7/S7 Plus, even refurbished and without update is better this Xiaomi Pad, In addition, Xiaomi has only announced 3 years of security update, nothing at the level of Android updates, already that when they promise updates to Android it is complicated to have them with less than 6 months late, there, I let you imagine.
@@rolins3279 I've always been a sucker for one ui and that is a really tempting offer, and the s pen is a better stylus cus I will be primarily drawing on this device and the s7fe has a larger screen too. So at least when I'm making my purchase I guess if I can find the fe for a reasonable price I might tilt towards that one.

I bought mine from Amazon in the UK. I love this tablet, it's excellent for the price. Better specs than the base ipad overall I feel.

Not gonna lie the way this guy explained everything was lit... Like that was a honest compare... I just wish he had reviewed it earlier xD as when pad 6 release I was considering buying a tablet and I was unsure about the pen quality so I went for Samsung galaxy s6 lite but yeah I do feel like sometimes it lags but overall the pen feels smooth and I didn't have to pay extra for it so it feels worth it..but after watching his video I'm regretting a little xD considering the processor is slightly better in pad6 but yeah satisfied with what I got...love from India💕

@shine7553 oops. feeling bad for you. The Pad 6 is way better than the s6 lite. The processor, the build, the refresh rate, the screen(hdr, dolby vision) everything is great on the Pad 6.

I think it's impossible for the tablet industry to deliver good drawing experience unless they partnered with drawing tablet companies for their pen technology. Just like in convertible laptop market, asus tried to launch expensive convertible laptop but the drawing experience is clearly worse than lenovo's cheaper laptop with wacom tech.
Samsung also partnered with wacom for their pen, thats explains the quality in samsung tab pens
Yeah, I used Hi paint to show that there is some squiggle to the lines still. I started out using Clip studio and in there I was getting really really nice lines.
If you looking a tablet for drawing, secondhand ipad or galaxy tab is a better option than this

I bought this tab after seeing the review, I'm a beginner and I don't have the budget for the mi pen 2. Can you suggest a more budget friendly stylus for this pad that has palm rejection?
The only thing holding me back from buying this tablet is the software support. Xiaomi only promised 2 years of security updates and hasn't said anything on OS updates so i'm gonna assume it's 2 years too and that's pathetic. Xiaomi in general has poor software that feels sluggish over the period of time (mostly because of the heavy skin). They also don't provide security updates regularly for their mid range devices , it's once in 6 months .
The global version will get two years OS and four years of security updates. Not great but for many enough. I suspect that as they are using the SD870 they are limited as to what they can offer as most SD870 will stop getting OD updates in the next year or so.
I bought this for around USD$270 in Singapore after some promo discounts. It's unbelievable and amazing. using this xiaomi pad 6 as i type!😊😊
