Filmfare should create a category next year called “Alia Bhatt Award”. That way she can win an award every year 🤣🥴. Filmfare also gives annually the real best actor and actress awards as a token best critics awards. They Gave best debut to Salman khan niece for a film nobody saw and was a big disaster only because she is related to Salman khan. Tu jhooti main makkar had better choreography than rocky aur rani prem kahani. Also they should retitle filmfare awards to “Karan Johar filmfare awards” 🤣🤣🤣. Kangana was right about fraud awards on aap ki adaalt show 😅

Anyways this is Bollywood! Vicky is a great actor and its a known fact no bolly award can define this, hope he wins the national award!

Ranbir and Alia won best actor and actress for Sanju and Razzi in 2019 together while they were dating. So this is the most dumbest reason ever

The writer of the movie himself targeted Bollywood for changing story and betraying him. So it was just a paid award for Alia. They did that because they wanted husband and wife together. Rani Mukerji deserved the popular award by a mile. No Alia, No Kiara- Mrs Chatterjee was a genius performance by Rani and clearly deserves all the awards. She was robbed during 2019 also with Gully Boy winning over Mardaani 2. Rani Mukerji as it is does really less movies and such practices will furthermore discourage her doing more work...

The biggest joke of the award is Alia winning the award for the portrayal of Rani which is one of the most mid portrayals of her on lines of Isha. Getting an award for such mid-portrayals just decreases the value of the genuine awards she won in the past for Udta Punjab and Gangubai.
The only deserving one should should have is raazi and gangubai, highway udta Punjab none of others in her list make sense

Shreya Ghoshal is a legend who has transcended the realm of awards.. 😊 the way she has rendered Kashmir, carrying it entirely on her vocals without any support of beats/music, yet sounding heavenly is an impeccable feat✨ I just feel privileged to be an audience to her era.. she's truly once in a millennium phenomenon❤
Then you'd also be astound to know that she has sung many songs in Malayalam language with perfect accent which is the toughest one in our country to catch up....

@@TriedRefusedProductions Hey Jammy, online Filmfare award voting for audiences was available for in January 2024, if you're not aware. I missed voting online by a few hours. I would never have voted for Alia and Shilpa Rao. Perhaps Filmfare decided long ago to give the award to Alia and then staged this online voting to justify Alia's award?
Compare SRK in dunki and ranbir in animal. Ranbirs acting was way too similar to that of his Sanju act.

Ranbir's performance in Animal was great, but I personally found Vicky and Vikrant's more impressing. I honestly couldn't enjoy the former's acting that much due to Animal's writing. But they should've at least tied Vicky and Vikrant if they had to give Ranbir the award.
I guess jammy is right in saying that people can't see past what they think of the movie and character and judge just for the acting.
@@swan_909 The most appreciated acting performances are those of villains. What I meant that the writing was too loud for me to really appreciate the acting. He just yelled in every other scene. Plus the character was linear and was exactly the same at the end of the movie as it was in the beginning. So you couldn’t see any range of his rage or even the cause of it because his relationship with his father wasn’t flesh out.
@aarushiyadav7101 I disagree. Yes, he was an angry guy, but the range was very visible whenever he emotes through his eyes and body language, be it anger, possessiveness or love. His relationship with his dad was the heart of the movie so I don't know if you were looking for more melodramatic scenes or something and that is why u feel like it wasn't fleshed out. I clearly understood what drove him as a person and what made him the way he was whenever it was about his dad. Yes the violence was nuts and it can dampen effects of other aspects of the movie and as people aren't used to seeing such violence onscreen I guess it felt loud to some. Anyway I know Bobby was amazing but he was more of a cold blooded killer while ranbir was an angry impulsive and passionate character.
@@swan_909 Each to their own I guess. But my issue was not the violence- we have seen that plenty of times (and most violent scenes in Animal were copied from Hollywood films anyway). But Ranbir’s character just came off as a spoiled psychotic kid. His father wasn’t that bad for Ranbir to become that, and didn’t even seem toxic until Ranbir had the confrontation about his past in the end. Also his obsession was never explained. Like why he was obsessed his father since childhood although he wasn’t that present in his life. They spent a lot of time on unnecessary things like the Zoya affair and his toxic monologues to Geetanjali but didn’t focus on the main aspect of the story.
I felt nothing for the story and its characters, and that greatly hindered my experience 👍
@aarushiyadav7101 ya i have seen way more violent movies in Hollywood but this isn't as common in Indian movies. Anyways imo he was so obsessed because his dad was basically an absentee father and he grew up with that emotional void that eventually became a need for approval, which translated into psychotic love for his dad coz he equated his dad's approval as love. I am not justifying him coz all choices made by adults are their own. I am just explaining my view on why he turned into a psychotic kid. Anyways I agree with you. To each its own. This was a nutty movie. 😄

Its absolutely bonkers that Alia is awarded every year in some way or the other. No doubt she is a good actress, but there are other good actresses too who have had such brilliant run this year. If they could tie the best actors in both categories then why not actresses?

Big fan of Alia Bhatt's work, she's an amazing actress, but in my honest opinion, I feel that this time the Filmfare Award for best actress could have gone to Kiara Advani for Satyaprem Ki Katha. Kiara's performance in this film was truly impactful and stood out from the rest. Just my two cents, no disrespect to Alia, she's fantastic, but Kiara really deserved recognition for her outstanding work in that film. 🌟
Agreed! I love Alia Bhatt's acting and to all those saying her Bengali accent was off are morons! She was a Bengali but her character was a Delhite and educated at Columbia. KJo has said in one of his interviews that he told Alia not to dive into the nitty gritties of learning Bengali as it won't suit her character who has been born and brought up in Delhi. But having said this I so agree that Kiara deserves the award! She simply nailed her role!

Alia’s portrayal being good or bad is a different matter altogether; the issue here is almost all of the other nominees had far more layered and demanding characters and they knocked it out of the park. Kiara in Satyaprem, Rani in MCVN, Tapsee in Dunki- all of them were miles ahead in terms of performances.

There was no competition in best bgm because Anirudh was literally ignored for Jawan.
I just feel it is so unfair to not give vicky kaushal any award for the best actor for sam bahadur...ranbir and vikrant perhaps deserved their awards but vicky was equally deserving ...the award for either the popular category or the critics award should have been shared with vicky kaushal...but was completely ignored ...just like how he was ignored for national awards for sardar udham last year

They EASILY could've given to both Vikrant & Vicky kaushal for Best Actor (Critics)!!! Vicky has been victim of this constant snub these days!! First, he didn't get best debut for Masaan in 2016, later in 2023, got subbed for Sardar Udham in National Award, n now this year, he didn't get any fucking award for a par excellence performance in Sam Bahadur!! Even Sam Manekshaw's daughter Maya herself praised him immensely for his performance!!!

I think Rani Mukherjee deserved the award for best actress in a leading role.
I seriously wanted Kiara or Rani Mukherjee to win in Best Female Actor as they deserve the award rather than Alia. And I can't belive believe how What Jhumka won Best Choreography and Rocky aur Rani won Best dialogues. Sunte hi Hasi AA gayi.

I think Jawan & Animal had the best bgms. I mean Anirudh killed it in Jawan. Background score was also a contributing factor in making the movie hard hitting.

I think everyone has forgotten the acting range of Manoj Bajpayee in Joram. What he has shown in the movie, it is no a joke of. Filmfare really has disappointed me by not giving best critics actor to him this year. And they should have nominated Jaideep ahlawat for supporting actor for three of us.

Rani deserved the best actress popular award, period. She has deserved it many times in the last 5 yrs for hichki and mardaani as well and yet has repeatedly lost to Alia's mediocre roles. Giving her the critics choice award was just a ploy to give the popular award to Alia and let Ralia shine.
Ranbir might have deserved that award but Vikrant not even getting nominated was criminal. I don't understand this logic of critics vs popular. If popularity is a criteria, then bring in public voting and then SRK would have won the award hands down.
They have just picked 2 stars ranbir and Alia and decided to buy stardom for them! Ranbir had a rough patch for many years and no release at all for 4 years and yet his stardom is afloat. Vikrant Massey has shined and the movie won in all popular categories and yet they sidelined him from the best actor category so as to not give him the limelight! Ranbir and Alia they don’t have to do exceptional work awards are handed over on a platter but Rashmika was not even given a Nomination and even Vikrant Massey

I agree. Shahid acted brilliantly as Kabir Singh and he carried the entire movie on his shoulders. As much as I love Ranveer Singh, his performance in Gully Boy wasn’t as impressive as Shahid Kapoor.

well said Anmol. sometimes i question why some of the wins affect me but its really nice to recognize outstanding performances and give credit where credit is good. yes i agree with your suggestions and i also believe that Ranveer is the best thing to happen to RRKP. lol i remember Karan always complimenting Alia when he was asked about Ranveer, almost as if he didn't want Ranveer to be given his flowers. it was painful to see. it made me see that its important to have a director that the movie and actors can have complete faith in (might delete later).

Alia winning is tragic- for her. Because you're telling her (and her fans) that her performances in Highway, Udta Punjab, Raazi, or Gangubai were the same as her obnoxiously terrible performance in RRKPK. It's like Kangana's National "awards"- everyone knows some of them were undeserved. And the choreography, dialogue, and lyrics- just a sad, desperate joke!

Best choreography: Vaibhavi Merchant (Dhindhora baaje rey)
Best debut (female): Medha Shankar (12th fail)
Best female singer: Shreya Ghoshal (Tum Kya mile)
Best lyrics: Javed Akhtar (Nikle thay kabhi hum ghar se)

RK gave the best performance. No offence but his performance was more nuanced and massy at the same time. He literally made people sit through 3 hours 20 minutes with not missing a single beat. Animal was a great performance by RK. There is no debate there.

Ranbir was good but people also forget that at some places i felt he was overacting.

I agree with this video so much. It's sad to see that award shows have become more like accommodating the movies and performances (be it singing or acting or any other skill) in different categories rather than the deserving ones getting nominated and winning. Down the years, people will forget who won in which categories, but what will remain with us are movies like Jawan, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Sam Bahadur, 12th Fail and others for right reasons, when Bollywood revived with a bang and how!

Debut category literally doesn't have any rule book right from the Pooja Butt winning for her Doordarshan serial, Asin for Gajni(after winning 2 Best actress Popular in Telugu 2003 and Tamil 2005 for Gajni), Sara Ali Khan, Ananya.
There is no rule book for filmfare either for nominations or for choosing a winner.
Every time KJo is the influencer of Jury and Jitesh Pillai is the even more huge fan than KJo for Alia. According to me Udta Punja and Gangubai are the only award winning performances of Ali. Gully Boy - supporting role, Razi is good and Highway is just Okay. Rocky aur Rani - even Alia wouldn't had though about her being nominated after watching the film.
The Filmfare Best Debut award should officially be renamed to Nepotism and Influence Rocks Best Award
I love Alia as an actor, but she did not deserve the best actress award this year. Kiara Advani should have won just for that one scene alone where she was recalling her past trauma in bed with Kartik Aaryan. It was a spine chilling performance. If you’re gonna give Alia an award for Rocky aur Rani, might as well give one to her for Student of the Year as well.

The 2000-2010 Aishwarya, Rani, Preity film awards era was the best. The music, awards and performances were worth watching, IIFA and Filmfare were legit. Since then...their credibility is questionable.

I dont know I could be wrong but I certainly felt Ranbir Kapoor's character in Animal was uni- dimensional. The character just had to and revolted or rebelled against anything and everything like a savage. That is about it..That is just what was required from the character. There were no different shades to it.There were no grey , white or black...everything was just red..blood red
Just like if we feel Vikram Rathore's character in Jawan was uni-dimensional and monosyllabic ...he just had to portray an uber cool, apathetic performance...nothing more ..
